Title: File Gumbo Series: Roughstock 03 Author: B.A. Tortuga Genre: Contemporary Western Romance Length: 145 pages Publisher: Pride Publishing (19th January 2016) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts Blurb: Beau is riding like the two-time champ that he is, but nothing is assured in the world of bull riding–not happiness, not wealth, and not survival.
Beau is a two-time champion bullrider who is working on his third title. Sam is his longtime lover and traveling partner, who is feeling the sting of having just about the worst season he can remember. The two of them are on the road together twenty-four seven, and it’s starting to get to them a little, between the constant injuries Sam faces, and the relentless press that Beau has to put up with.
Add in friends on the circuit who need their help and the fact that they have to hide what they mean to each other, and it’s no wonder that Sam and Beau’s relationship starts to wear a little from the friction. When things blow up in their faces, Sam leaves the bull riding tour for a while, but the boys find out they’re far more miserable apart than they are together.
Beau and Sam may agree to disagree in order to make peace and help out their friends Jason and Coke, but in the unpredictable world of extreme sports, nothing goes as it’s planned. Can Beau and Sam recover from what just might the last ride of Sam’s life?
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously released elsewhere. It has been re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
Review: I have been waiting for Beau and Sam’s story for a while. There is just something extra special about these two men. They have been together for a long time. Though they aren’t shouting from the rafters they aren’t actually hiding either.
Beau is the big champ right now especially with Jase out injured. Sam isn’t doing well at all and is barely making it good enough to stay in the events with Beau. Sam is beginning to tire of people thinking Beau is keeping him and saying that he is riding on Beau’s fame. They need some long-awaited home time but find themselves at AJ’s visiting Jase and Andy after Coke’s injury.
There is so much going on in this book. We get a bit more of Coke and Dillon as well as Jason and Andy. The bits with Jason and Andy at AJ and Missy’s are always fun with little Benji. You have got to love Benji’s cute baby names for all these rough and tumble cowboys, showing their softer side. Also, Sam and Beau raise hound dogs, so we have the cute doggies as well!
There is a little angst with Sam beginning to doubt himself and his relationship then there are other twists I won’t get into, that leave you in nail-biting suspense.
There is a little something for everyone in this book. In the front of the book, the author has a note about the grammar and style. I agree one hundred percent. I love the language and the rough vocabulary. It gives the perfect feel for the roughness of the cowboys and settings. Some of the terms like bobblehead cowboys made me laugh like crazy. It fits so well with all the nodding!
If you like cowboys, cute kids and puppies, angst, twists, a little suspense and, of course, scorching hot man-sex, this is a must!

Title: Searching for Shelter Series: Sin City Uniforms, #6 Author: Morticia Knight Genre: Romantic Suspense Length: Novel (145 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (January 19th 2016) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: Teen shelter volunteer Rich searches for love until Diego, from LVMPD Search and Rescue, finds him.
After declaring his love life officially dead, Rich wonders if maybe he should stick with his shifter book boyfriends instead. It’s not as if he has much free time to date anyway. Between working long hours at a coffee shop, guarding his sodas from his hygienically challenged roommates, and running the programming at the Vegas LGBTQ teen shelter he founded—how could there ever be space for love in his life?
Diego Espinoza enjoys taking his downtime from working Search and Rescue, at the Lucky Cup coffee shop. He can set up his laptop, peruse good sport climbing spots and observe the blond barista he’s been pining over for a while. He imagines that the pretty boy has more offers than he knows what to do with, so it takes Diego time to work up the nerve to approach him.
Rich isn’t so sure about the rough-looking Diego—even if he’s always thought he was hot—but once he decides to gives Diego a chance, there’s an immediate heat and connection that takes him by surprise. As they learn more about each other and try to find the way to a future together, strange and scary things start to happen.
It isn’t until Rich is injured in a bizarre accident that it becomes clear that there’s someone out there who not only doesn’t want Rich to find love—they want him dead.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of light bondage.
Review: I’ve wanted this story for a while now, being a fan of the series and having read every book, I see Rich in the background and have eagerly waited for his time to come. Rich may be young, but he has a good head on his shoulders. He volunteers constantly at the shelter, takes classes at the local college and works full-time at the Lucky Cup Coffee Shop.
His schedule doesn’t leave much time for dating but when he does, one disastrous date after another leads Rich to consider swearing off men for a while. That is until the hot guy that Rich can’t help but notice almost daily at the Coffee Shop finally asks him out.
Diego loves his job as part of the Search and Rescue unit for LVMPD being the outdoors type of guy. He even spends his off time hiking and climbing, mostly because he doesn’t have a man in his life. Diego has a sour taste in his mouth as well from past relationships, but there is something about the beautiful blonde at the Coffee Shop that has not only caught Diego’s eyes, he makes Diego want so much more than a one night stand.
These two definitely move fast, but it’s the attention to details that made their instant connection okay with me. Diego goes out of his way to woo Rich. Compliments, dates, conversation, and oh boy can the man kiss! Rich can’t breathe, much less think, when Diego lays his lips on him. I think what I enjoyed most about the relationship between these two was their conversations.
Diego especially always paid attention to everything Rich said, which was new to Rich and took some getting used to, but the way they were able to confide in each other from the start, to be a shoulder for each other when they had a bad day. This happened to them both in the story. I just loved that the relationship wasn’t all about sex. That being said, the sex was fantastic! Passionate, playful, tender and rough. When these two went at it I had to wipe the steam off my kindle.
Fast paced and completely engaging with a little bit of suspense for good measure. If you are a fan of the series, Knight’s work, men in uniforms, or just a hopeless romantic… you’ll love this book too.

Title: The Shadow Road Series: Eight Kingdoms, #4 Author: Belinda Burke Genre: Fantasy/ Paranormal/ Werewolves Length: 156 pages Publisher: Pride Publishing (December 15, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts Blurb: Spring is dead. Summer is divided. Autumn has its darkness…and Winter waits.
In the wake of Dealla’s latest atrocity, Macsen has learned a lesson he will never forget. To love is to fear, and he intends to make sure that his fear never comes to pass. Bran is less than pleased with being left behind while Macsen hunts Dealla, but he has trouble of his own to distract him. An unknown ability is growing in him—magic that has nothing of Summer in it. Disturbed, Bran convinces Macsen to come with him to question his mother. Only she knows who Bran’s father is, and the secret half of his bloodline is the most likely source of his new power.
Elenn agrees to Bran’s request, but for her own reasons. Faelan, one of the gancanagh, is to be Bran’s guide to his father, and she has ordered him to seduce the Red King and prove his love false. Faelan has no desire to follow through, but also no choice. His queen has commanded, and he must obey.
Macsen and Bran aren’t the only lovers whose feelings are being put to the test. After five thousand years of separation, Myrddin has no choice but to accept Kas’ help in restoring the spring and its rite to the mortal world. The difficulty is that he wants Kas to desire him for himself, not out of necessity, and the whole of reality is standing in his way.
Where is the line that divides determination from desire? Love is power—but is it enough?
Review:This is the fourth book in the Eight Kingdoms series.
This is a wonderfully written book that draws you into a fantasy world where all is not as it seems. Evil comes in many forms and forces work against those with the best of intentions.
Mascen is still on the hunt for Dealla after what she did in the last book. Though I understood his need to find the evil woman I was concerned for Bran being left behind seeing as how she hated Bran.
Myriddan and Kas’ situation truly broke my heart.
These two have loved each other for a very long time and have to wait and watch while the other was with someone else. I was glad they were in a book for more than a couple of sentences because I felt they truly needed something more.
Great characters and details lead the reader further into the Eight Kingdoms series. * I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com *
Title: Fate’s Bridge Series: N/A Author: Carol Lynne Genre: Contemporary/Erotic Romance/ Ménage and Multiple Partners/ Paranormal/ Vampires Length: 52 pages Publisher: Pride Publishing (December 22, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥3 Hearts Blurb: Is it possible for a soul to be reborn inside another?
What would you do if you discovered someone harboring a soul you recognized as one from a deceased loved one? For vampire Roman Gschwind, the scenario becomes a reality when he meets Bodi Rain.
Unfortunately, it soon becomes clear that Roman must share Bodi with another vampire if he has any chance of rekindling the love that he’d lost so long ago.
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published as part of the Unconventional in San Diego anthology by Pride Publishing.
Review: This book sounded so good when I read the blurb and it most certainly would have been if there had been less sex and more story.
Roman lost Brodi many years earlier. Brodi is finally reincarnated in another body but sustains a life-threatening injury but Roman won’t change him due to a promise. He gets Alexi to do it and as result Brodi and Alexi form a sexual bond.
I really felt bad for Roman. As it seemed Brodi was taken from him once only for him to get him back and have to share him with another.
It was an o.k. read with a lot of hot sex.

A universal vaccine eradicates all known viruses from the human population, but in the wake of this miracle, a deadly new virus suddenly surfaces. As the death toll rises, people riot in panic and civilization collapses.
Brey Jamieson, a convicted felon, is suddenly set loose in this violent new world. Desperate to reunite with his family, he sets out on a journey across the country but is captured by a brutal man who plans to sell him into slavery.
Hank Kresnak is a cop in the new world. It is his job to preserve the law. But when he sees Brey, his belief in everything he has built his new life on begins to crumble. Memories of a dark and terrible time reawaken. He was the cop who arrested Brey, and with one look into Brey’s eyes, he knew his life would never be the same. He was a married man with two daughters, but he couldn’t forget a man he barely even knew.
Now his wife and daughters are gone, and he must struggle to save the man of his dreams from a nightmare fate.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and reference to rape.
Review: Kayleigh Sky is a new author for me and I was a bit leery of reading it. I am never sure of what the story is going to turn out to be like, but I have to tell you that this was a blast to read. Although if you do not like violence or rape then you might not want to read this. I should say that it has a reference to rape, not actual rape to it.
This story has a twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters were well-developed and had a lot of depth to them that has you falling in love with them. Their world was also well-developed and pulls you in. I loved the tone to this story and was fascinated with how well the story turned out. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I was captivated by the whole thing.
A vaccine gave a miracle and created something more deadly to the humans. People were dying all over and panic was setting in. Brey had been convicted of a crime but was now set free to live his life in this new world. He just wanted to find his family. Then a cruel man gets his hands on him and plans on selling him.
Thanks to the man who had arrested him some time ago, he finds a new way of life.
Hank was the one that arrested Brey and now he was the one to save him. He was a cop in this new world as well as the past. He had been a straight man with a family, and then the virus killed them all. Now he needs to deal with the fact that he is attracted to Brey.
There are so many changes that they have to figure out, and the changes coming their way. Brey is the one that pulls me more and I fear that he will be hurt once more. I had so much fun reading this story and the fact that it was by a new author, for me that is, was a major hit.
I can’t wait to see what other stories this amazing author has out.
I would definitely recommend this book.

He’s let his own fears impede his potential happiness, and instead he puts the needs of his coven first, ignoring his own. But if he’s deliberately blind to one particular human’s needs because that human is a mate to another vampire, then is Claude truly leading to the best of his ability?
It’s a tough question for him to answer and soon, he’ll have to make a choice that will affect him and Abbie, forever.
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously available on the author’s blog.
Review: This was a great addition to the series. Finally Claude, the leader of the coven, gets a mate. And it turns about to be Abernathy. Their history together was very interesting to read about. Because of certain perceived notions Claude lost his chance with Abernathy years ago. This lead to both Claude and Abernathy to suffer for decades.
Lucky for both Claude and Abernathy, Zebulon finally does something that allows them to be together how they were meant to be. It was so sweet and pretty damn hot when they were finally able to claim one another.
This book was a fast read and very enjoyable. I spent as much time laughing at the antics of the coven members as I did cheering on Claude and Abernathy. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I love the characters Bailey Bradford has created.

When Dixon and Carson meet during a hurricane, neither imagined that moment would be the beginning of a new relationship.
Dixon White owns Billy’s Diner in Brevard County, Florida—right down the road from Patrick Air Force Base. He serves a lot of the servicemen and their families who live and work on the base and does it in honor of his brother who served as a SEAL until a motorcycle accident ended his life. When Dixon finds himself stuck in a broken down car just as a hurricane hits the area, he’s not sure how’s he going to get home.
Master Chief Sergeant Carson LaSalle is headed to the base when he drives by Billy’s Diner. He sees Dixon’s car there and stops, checking to see if everything is okay. He takes Dixon home, but can’t stop thinking about him.
After the hurricane blows through, both men meet again and the sparks fly. Possibilities open up for them to have a chance at finding love. They just have to be willing to try.
Tams ♥♥♥♥4 Heart review:
Carson LaSalle has had his eye on Dixon White since the day he got stationed at Patrick Air Force Base. When a storm hits and Dixon’s car breaks down, Carson finally has a reason to not only spend some time with Dixon, but to finally ask him out on a date. The two hit it off and soon sparks fly.
There was a lot of meat to this short story. Chase gives the reader a brief glimpse into Dixon’s life, his past, and why he owns the diner and makes it his mission to take care of others. Carson was just the perfect addition for him, a man who would be proud to stand by his side.
I would read a full length story for these two, would be nice to get a glimpse into Carson’s background.
‘Lonely Hearts and Yellow Ribbons’ by Stephani Hecht
Being apart from the one you love is the hardest thing to do, until you get them back to find they’ve changed…
PJ Ross Ervin is part of an elite force of rescue men from the Air Force. Only the best of the best make it through the program and get to wear the maroon beret. As such, he is proud of what he does and is happy to serve his country. The one drawback is that it takes him away from his long-time lover, Aden. Thankfully Ross’ deployment is over and he’s coming home.
Aden is excited to see Ross. But he can’t help but notice that his partner is having trouble adjusting back into the civilian world. Plus, there is the looming danger that Ross could be deployed again at any time. Will Ross have to leave to serve his county once more? And if so, can the pair survive the separation yet again?
Tams ♥♥♥3 Heart review:
Ross and Aden have been together long enough that Aden knows what to expect from Ross’s career as a military man. When Ross comes home on leave, they use their time wisely to get reacquainted with one another. But this time Aden notices that Ross is having trouble leaving the job at the door. With another deployment looming, Aden worries for Ross more than ever, but supports his man regardless.
My favorite things about this short story were the yellow ribbons first off. As a former military wife and a military brat, I can appreciate that little addition. When Ross opened the cabinet and found the spools of ribbon, I smiled, that was perfect. And then Aden finally being accepted to the Wives group, which needs a new name by the way with the influx of same-sex military couplings.
Cute story though.
‘Venetian Skies’ by Morticia Knight
No one wants to lose a love that’s meant to be. Air Force test pilot, Chris Pierce, returns to Italy to discover that second chances are the sweetest.
They had a love that was the real thing, but Chris, an Air Force test pilot, returns to Aviano Air Base in Italy to discover that the only man he’s ever loved is still there. Yet wasn’t that why artist Brandon had dumped him? Because he didn’t want to be tied down to one place or one person?
Brandon made a huge mistake. It wasn’t until Chris transferred out of the local military base that he realizes what they had together was the real thing. Even though he’s never settled in one place for very long, he couldn’t bear to leave the town of Aviano where he and Chris were so happy together.
Chris unexpectedly returns and Brandon is devastated when Chris rejects him out of anger. Can’t Chris see how much Brandon has changed in the two years they’ve been apart?
Second chances are the sweetest and love that’s meant to be doesn’t die. But when a MiG fighter jet gone rogue shoots Chris down, will their second chance be taken away forever?
Tams ♥♥♥♥♥5 Heart review:
Chris is an Air Force pilot returning to the base he left when his former lover broke his heart. Since Brandon was such a free spirit that refused to be tied down, Chris is certain his ex is long gone from Aviano. His first night out at their old favorite haunt, Chris runs into Brandon. Well, more like Brandon is searching for Chris. With the pain of the past still fresh in Chris’s heart, can Brandon convince him he was wrong, to give them another shot at happiness?
Okay, I need a full novel for this one. I would love to see where Chris and Brandon started, where everything went wrong and then beyond this short story to the chaotic future I’m certain they have. What Knight delivered with Venetian Skies was a synopsis of a story that only made me thirsty for more.
Short, Sexy and Steamy!
‘Search and Rescue’ by Jenna Byrnes
Two parajumpers freefall into a stealthy relationship before considering how quickly it might come crashing to an end.
Airman First Class Matthew Billings has almost completed a grueling two-year training program on his way to becoming a Pararescueman in the Air Force Special Operations Unit. On a mission to rescue a child lost in the Pecos Wilderness of New Mexico, he meets Master Sergeant Drake Bogart, a man who is as infuriating as he is handsome.
When Matt spots the child and Drake gets the credit, sparks fly, in more ways than one. But with graduation just a few days away, is their fledgling relationship over before it even gets started?
Tams ♥♥♥3 Heart review:
This short story has potential to be an enemies to lovers type of story. Matthew Billings is climbing the ranks as a Pararescueman and holding his own, to spite Drake Bogart taking all the credit.
When Drake goes against Matthew’s preconceived notions and not only admits his attraction to the Matthew, he takes him home and seduces him, it looks like the perfect friends with benefits relationship might be forming. Until Drake says something stupid again.
This story had potential, but I had trouble liking Drake. He came across as cocky and arrogant and even when he apologized, I just never warmed to the character. There were some sexy times and I liked that Matthew stood his ground with the more dominant Sergeant.
I think this one definitely needs to be a full story so things can be elaborated and expanded on.
‘Live for the Day’ by Sarah Masters
Loving your best friend is easy. Telling him you do…well, that’s the hard part.
Michael and Steven grew up together—just them, no girls allowed. They’d always planned to join the military, but when it came time to sign up, Michael couldn’t do it. For years, Michael has worried every time Steven is out in the desert, risking his life to serve and protect. He dreads the day Steven won’t come home.
Steven has been through a dreadful ordeal on duty, and while in the hospital, he’s had time to think about what’s important in life. He misses Michael—needs to get back home to be with him—and he has something he wishes to say, something he’s held inside as far back as he can remember…
When the two men reunite, revelations are the name of the game. There is no question they’ve always loved each other, but now that they have the chance to express that love, will they?
Tams ♥♥♥♥♥5 Heart review:
The way this particular story started reminded me of old Hollywood love stories. Seemingly unrequited love. Seeing your love coming toward you, certain it’s a dream or a mirage, and yet, he is real.
Michael is sitting in his favorite café missing his best friend Steven something fierce, wishing he were there so Michael could finally be honest with him about how he feels when suddenly, and Steven is there. Between the long absences that are driving Michael insane with worry, and Steven being hurt during his last deployment, both men are done dancing around the truth.
Oh but I love this story the best of them all. I could see Michael sitting in the café, staring out the window, longing for Steven to ride in on a white horse, and then they could ride off into the sunset together. Though it was far removed from that that was the feel of the story. Once these two were finally honest about their feelings, things got a little steamy.
This is another one I’d love to read going back and giving more details of their friendship and the years of them growing closer even if they were apart, then go forward and show their happy life together.
Le Sigh.
‘Lifetime Hitch’ by Megan Slayer
Sometimes the best laid plans are meant to be thrown way off course.
Hunter planned his life very well. He’s got his position in the Air National Guard, the family he’s always wanted and a life most people would love to have. Except he’s not happy. His friends all know his truths, but them knowing about his sexuality and him admitting it are two different things. Thankfully Ryder—his best friend—has always got his back.
Ryder has loved Hunter since they were in school. He wants to have more than Hunter’s back—he wants everything. Forcing his Guardsman to come out as a gay man wasn’t on his agenda, but Ryder isn’t above a bit of gentle nudging.
Will the things Hunter can’t control be his undoing, or will he accept who he is as well as the love he’s craved all of his life?
Tams ♥♥♥3 Hearts review:
This one was a little odd for me. Ryder and Hunter have been best friends forever, and that is about how long Ryder has been in love with Hunter. He is respectful and keeps his distance, hiding his true feelings while Hunter tries to convince everyone, including himself, that he is straight. When they finally face their feelings, it seems like a HEA is in the works. Not so fast… both men teeter back and forth to the extent that I almost got whiplash.
I liked that Hunter was adamant that he remain true to the commitment he made to those two little girls, but the I love you too, wait… I have to take care of the girls. I want you too… wait, I can’t come out. Ryder understands and doesn’t push. Then when Hunter changes his mind and wants to come out and be true, Ryder starts pushing Hunter away.
There was potential here, and a little bit of angst would have been fine, just too angsty for my taste.

Will yet another attack bring down two couples this time?
Review: I loved that Sean Michael gives not only more with Toby and Damon, but also Peter and Christian. This book almost blows the erotic meter off the charts. These two separate couples are seriously hot.
I enjoyed getting a look inside the relationship of Peter and Christian. The struggle Christian still has accepting his needs are clearly written. Peter does wonder with Christian and how to get him to be where he needs to be. There is more story there I believe that I cannot wait to be told.
It’s great to see that the relationship between Damon and Toby. They are still finding their way together and having fun as they do it. And finally there is a resolution to the mystery stalker of Toby’s.
This book is very hot and sexy, with some great tender moments. I look forward to seeing where this series will go next.

Title: Reaper Series: N/A Author: Edward Kendrick Genre: Romantic Suspense Length: Novel (159 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (13 Oct 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥3.5Hearts Blurb:Leading a double life can be challenging, as Reaper well knows.
Take one self-styled vigilante—Reaper. Add his alter ego, successful forty-one-year-old, investment counselor, Zack Ward. Then throw in Dallas Comstock, thirty-two, a beat cop, Zack’s lover and the only person who knows Zack is Reaper. The result is men on a mission. They protect homeless kids living on the streets while trying to find a new building for a soon-to-be demolished shelter belonging to Zack’s mentor, Brian Foster—the man who helped Zack get off the streets.
Someone seems to be kidnapping streetwise young girls. Reaper pulls together a team of street kids—Zip and his boyfriend, Colly, Raven and Sway—to stop the predator. At the same time Zack, with the help of his business clients, sets up a charity ball to raise money for the new shelter, Off-the-Street.
What happens next may strengthen Zack’s and Dallas’ love—or destroy it.
Review: This is the first book by Edward Kendrick that I’ve read and I have to say, it was a pretty interesting introduction to a new author. First thing that struck me was the writing. It was just such an easy book to follow, even if I found the pace a little slow at times.
To describe this one and for you to understand where I’m coming from, I hope you’ve all got your comics and cartoon hat firmly on. I’m going to say it’s like if Batman (DC Comics) was really Daredevil (Marvel, he’s the blind lawyer) and was in a romantic relationship with Detective Ethan Bennett from the Gotham City PD.
Got that? No?
Well, 41-year-old, mild-mannered investment counsellor Zack Ward spends many nights protecting the young people on the street from the usual scum – pimps, drug dealers and other predators. The love of his life, Dallas, is a police officer and knows of Zack’s alter ego, Reaper. In fact, Dallas encourages it.
The story is relatively uncomplicated, so I’m not going to go into anything too much deeper. This is something worthy of a comic book – though like in comic books/Marvel movies, it does leave me wondering just how safe it is to be a vigilante where there is a police force likely to arrest said vigilante. At least, though, Zack does not leave a trail of destruction in his path.
I love how well the MCs work together. Zack and Dallas are in an established relationship. So it is nice that that aspect of romance takes a back seat and in the end this is just a story about two guys making things work under extraordinary circumstances. I also happen to love the ragtag supporting characters, Zip, Colly, Raven and Sway. I think it adds a bit of realism here, because let’s face it, every hero needs a bit of help along the way.
This book appealed to me because I’m into superheroes, I’m just not certain what other types that it would appeal to.

Title: VanDoren’s Vice Series: Kansas City Heat, #7 Author: Jenna Byrnes Genre: Romantic Suspense Length: Novella (115 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (September 15th, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts Blurb: A detective and the head of security at a casino have something in common, don’t they?
Perhaps more than one thing.
Detective Mike VanDoren isn’t much of a gambler, but the ongoing embezzlement at Kansas City’s newest casino definitely has his interest. So does handsome Cole McKinney, the head of security at the Time and Tides.
Mike dives head first into the case and a relationship with Cole, who can’t believe that any of his trusted employees and friends could be guilty. Mike knows differently, and it’s up to him and his team to figure out who’s behind the elaborate scheme.
When a casino employee turns up dead, the case takes a bizarre twist, leaving Mike scrambling to save the people he cares about most.
Review: Each book in the Kansas City Heat collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. However it can be read as a standalone.
I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Jenna. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down.
First embezzlement, then murder and it just keeps packing up. It is up to Mike to find out who is behind it all. The problem is he has the hots for the head of security. Things are heating up and then the impossible happens. Cole is being framed for it all. It is up to him to save his lover from some long jail time that is for sure.
Cole is the head of security at the casino and has the hots for the detective handling the embezzlement case. He understands the difficulties that is coming from their seeing each other, but he can’t stop. He wants the sexy detective. He trusts Mike to get him out of this mess and to keep their hearts from getting damaged.
I have to say that the ending is a bit off to me though. I can see the problem of them being lovers while the case is going on and also the attitude of Cole with all the questions. However I would have really liked the love word instead of lust. I just wished they could have moved forward just a bit more.
I also wished that it had been expanded. I could have continued to read it all night long. Even with that little problem, I was captivated by the whole story.
I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Title: Twin Temptations, 2nd edition Series: Good-Time Cowboys 04 Author: Carol Lynne Genre: MMF/Cowboy/Taboo (Twincest) Length: Novella (117 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (July 28th 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts Blurb: For twins Ryker and Ranger Good, life has never been easy. Now in their thirties they are ready to make a commitment, not only to each other but to the woman they’ve waited to claim for four years.
Lilly Bevin has been in love with the Good twins for years, only to be treated like a child by them. Now twenty-one, Lilly’s ready to spread her wings. Working in the town bar is just one of the ways she’s declaring her independence, dating is the other.

Now it’s up to them to tame their wildcat and bring her into the fold of their love. A wildcat however, has claws and Lilly isn’t shy about using hers to her advantage.
Reader Advisory: This book contains a twincest storyline, sexual intimacy between twins, and may be offensive to some readers. This is a TABOO story.
Publisher’s Note: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series. This book was previously released under the same title. It has been re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
Review: I am going to be perfectly honest when I say twincest isn’t one of my favorite genres and I only read it by some of my favorite authors. I also don’t love ménage because it seems the female gets all the tension and there is never jealousy when you know there would be strong feelings at times. Well, Carole Lynn has conquered both twincest and a MMF ménage perfectly.
I loved this story. It is full of emotions and the relationship did not start out perfect. There was the jealousy and hard feelings. There was angst. Most of all there were great love that conquered it all.
I absolutely loved Ryker and Ranger and watching their characters grow from the other stories. I loved that Lily was patient it Ranger and showed him that she loved him as well as Ryker and he would always be a part of them.
If you like twincest, ménage, a very good romance, and some very hot sex… not just between two hot men but also with a woman and the ménage scenes were so hot you need a fire extinguisher (or cold shower)!

Title: A Subtle Breeze, 2nd edition Series: Southern Spirits, #1 Author: Bailey Bradford Genre: Paranormal Length: Novella (113 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (September 1, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5Hearts Blurb: Ezekiel Matthers and Brendon Shanahan are about to find out that sometimes all it takes is a subtle breeze to shift the winds of fate.
Ezekiel Matthers is a reclusive man, forcing himself into the exile of his ranch after a violent assault left him wounded. While the scars on the outside have faded, the damage inside is much harder to conquer. Zeke resigns himself to a solitary existence, aside from his sister Enessa and, of course, his mama’s occasional visits.
Brendon Shanahan has a very meddling cousin, Gloria, who is best buds with Enessa Matthers. When the two women convince Brendon that he should hook-up with the reclusive Zeke, a plan is hatched that sets a series of events into motion – with potentially deadly consequences.
Can Ezekiel conquer his fears and accept what Brendon is offering? Or will Brendon walk away, giving up on the love he has waited for? And will the visits from Zeke’s mama – deceased for four years now – help the two men find their way to each other?
Only time will tell, and that may be the one thing the lovers don’t have, because someone is out to destroy everything Zeke and Brendon hold dear – and this time, the bad guy just might succeed.
Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
Publisher’s Note: This book has previously been published under the same title. It has been expanded, revised and re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
Review: This is the first book in the revised series of the Southern Spirits.
Zeke is a loner who has withdrawn from the world since he was attacked years ago. He is a good, hardworking man who is lonely. But, due to his fear he remains alone. I felt so bad for Zeke. I wanted to hug him and soothe his fear by saying all will be will be well in time. I hated that he suffered in silence not wanting his family to know about the panic attacks.
Brendon is just what Zeke needed to bring him out of his shell. He was determined and always there no matter what and did not let things Zeke said chase him away. I absolutely could not stand Zeke’s sister Eva. She was so full of hate it made me sick. The ghost element was defiantly a good thing in the story. I liked that it was not over done like in some stories I’ve read and had the right balance for this book.
Well written and intriguing this amazing story draws you into the lives of two men who despite the odds fight to be together. It was emotional at times and mysterious at others.
I loved the entire book, but then again I love all of Bailey’s books.
Title: It’s a Good Life, 2nd edition Series: Good-Time Boys, 05 Author: Carol Lynne Genre: Contemporary/ Cowboys Length: Novella (115 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (July 28 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts Blurb: Have you ever wondered what life would be like without you?

Faced with the prospect of losing the man he loves, Garron is determined to show Sonny what he has to live for.
Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series.
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously released under the same title. It has been re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
Review: Sonny and Garron have been married a few years, but Sonny doesn’t even remember his wedding day or being shot. His seizures are getting worse, but he is hiding this from Garron.
Garron can see things are to right with Sonny especially after an accident when Sonny goes to help Lily after she has a flat. He understands Sonny wanting to be able to do the things he used to and not lose his ranch, but he doesn’t want to lose Sonny.
This story takes on a bit of a sadder edge with Sonny dealing with his issues. He wishes at times that he had died when he was shot. Not being able to remember his wedding day bothers him, so Garron wants to show him just how special Sonny is to not only him but his whole family. It’s bittersweet, sexy and heartwarming.
I have loved this series and getting another glimpse at Nate, Rio, and Ryan (let’s all go to Cattle Valley now)!
If you like sexy cowboys, a sweet romance, love that lasts through trials and tribulation, a good holiday story and some hot man-sex, this is for you

Title: Outcast Cowboys Series: What’s His Passion? Author: Sarah Masters Genre: Contemporary Western Length: Novel (202 Pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (August 18 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Blurb: You can run but you can’t hide. Problems have a habit of following you, even if it’s only inside your head.
Ross decides to start a new life away from the grim belly of London, England, unable to stomach being a cop any longer. He tells himself he’s moving miles away to find himself a bed partner, but he’s lying. He has to. Facing up to the real reason he’s leaving isn’t something he can handle.
His last undercover job proved too much—his life was at risk—and if he stays in London he’ll likely end up dead. Nightmares plague him, his subconscious unable to switch the past off. So he moves to a ranch in America, thinking the new surroundings and different lifestyle will help him to heal—and to forget. What he soon realizes is he’s jumping from the frying pan into the fire…
Joe’s passion—that of caring for the horses—is the only thing that keeps him sane. He’s a surly man, and for good reason—a reason he hasn’t told a soul. Folks think he’s mean and unapproachable and suspect him of committing murder. More than once. Locals assume that Joe got let off the hook. Nothing could be further from the truth, but Joe lets people think what they will. He’s done with their speculation and sly looks.
When Ross and Joe meet, tension is rife. The air between them prickles with animosity as well as sexual tension. Both have a past they can’t get over. Both have skeletons in their closets they wish would turn to dust. And both have to make a decision.
Can they cast their fears aside and trust each other, or have the terrors they’ve experienced ruined them for love?
Reader Advisory: This book contains a scene of remembered non-consensual sex in a character’s past.
Review: Take two gay men hiding secrets…one from England showing up on a secluded ranch in the middle of nowhere and the other that seems trapped there and there is sure to be fireworks.
But will the secrets buried on the ranch keep them apart?
Ross finally is free for his job as an undercover cop in England. His last mission was too close to killing him and after being outed he decides to come to America and start a new life. Working on a Ranch with hot cowboys should be safer than dealing undercover with drug dealers…or at least that is what he thought.
I thought this was a very intriguing story. There is a lot of mystery and for the first half of the book or more I kept wondering who the real culprit really was actually I thought there would be a bit more twists than what there really were.
About halfway it took a different turn form the mystery and became more pure romance between Joe and Ross building a new life and Ross coming to terms with his past nightmares. I will say I did like the way the author tied up the loose ends at the end.
The story is well written and I was so hooked I read it in one setting.
If you like cowboys, undercover cops, suspense, a good love story and some pretty hot man-sex this is for you!

Title: Scorched Edges Series: Tales from the Edge, #6 Author: L.M. Somerton Genre: Bondage and BDSM/ Erotic, Romance Length: Novella (137 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (September 8th, 2015)Available for early download Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥4Hearts Blurb: Love forged in fire is unassailable.
Fireman Salter Beauman, Beau to his friends, has had his eye on cute Marty Standish ever since he helped rescue Marty and his boss from the bombed out rubble of Temple Church. An analyst for the security services, Marty is cute, geeky and submissive through and through—even if he doesn’t know it yet.
With a serial fire starter making inroads into Beau’s life expectancy, he decides that there is no time to waste and introduces Marty to the D/s lifestyle. Marty responds with wide eyes, an insatiable desire to learn and the ability to turn Beau on with nothing more than a wiggle of his slim hips.
But Beau has a second, far more malevolent admirer. ‘See me dance’ is the message left at a series of increasingly dangerous fires. Beau and Marty must work together to catch a psychotic arsonist before their love goes up in flames. Literally.
Reader Advisory: This book contains a scene that includes sexual abuse.
Review: This is book six in the Tales from the Edge series. Salter Beauman, a firefighter wants Marty Standish. In his pursuit to make him his he realizes that an arsonist is targeting him. I liked Beau’s strong dominant character. He seemed confident and sure of what he wanted. Marty was sweet, geeky and shy/ I loved the Marty’s analytical mind and found it fascinating when he went into details about things I did not know about.
These two set the pages on fire when they got together. The dates were sweet yet demanding at times. Beau is a very kinky man and Marty is just coming into the lifestyle so I was glad that Beau was careful with him. They seemed well matched for each other as Marty had submissive tendencies that he was unsure about.
I really enjoyed the story however I would have liked to have seen more of the mystery portions more in the book than what there was. Most was at the beginning and end with a few small mentions in the middle.
All in all it was a great read.

Title: Garron’s Gift, 2nd edition Series: Good-Time Boys 02 Author: Carol Lynne Genre: Contemporary/Cowboys/Romantic Suspense Length: Novella (91 pages) Publisher: Pride Publishing (July 14 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: Garron Greeley thought he had it all—a great new job and the man of his dreams to call his own. When his lover Sonny sprang the idea of a commitment ceremony on him, Garron couldn’t have been happier. Except for a few men, the town seemed supportive of their relationship, and many showed up to witness their special day.
The ceremony is everything he hoped for, until an act of bigoted violence shatters Garron’s world, leaving his new husband in a pool of blood in the middle of the street. He’s left wondering if asking for everything will leave him with nothing.
Working with his new brother-in-law, Garron sets out to prove the identity of the shooter and bring him to justice. Along the way he learns that true love can have many different forms.
Reader Advisory: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series.
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously released by Totally Bound Publishing under the same title. It has been re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
Review: After the shooting of Sonny on their wedding day by an unknown gunman, Garron and Rawley are doing everything they can to get the shooter. But the town is under the thumb of the shooters dad, and things are hard for Rawley.
Garron is dealing with Sonny’s moodiness and the fight for justice. He brings in a sexy friend from Chicago to help but will Nate help or cause more friction between Sonny and Garron?
There are several storylines in this book. It isn’t all about Garron and Sonny. Jeb and Rawley get a lot of attention as well and near the end we get a bit of Nate.
It’s a bit predictable, but it is superb. I loved all the suspense. I especially liked how real the healing of Sonny felt. His injury caused him to have memory loss and personality issues; he wasn’t instantly back to his old self, there was a struggle in the relationship.
I did feel this story needed to be more about Garron and Sonny since the title is Garron’s gift, but I did feel that storyline was complete even though the killer wasn’t yet brought to justice.
I really enjoyed this story, and am loving this series and the character’s being added to each account.
If you like ranchers, lawmen, gay romance, contemporary romance, suspense, and some hot man-sex, this is for you.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of light BDSM and fisting.
Publisher’s Note: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series.
Review: This is the fourth book in the Spotless series. I have to say that Bailey Bradford has done it again with a fantastic addition to the Spotless series. So much emotion running through this book that it took my breath away. I literally cried reading how Edie, a shifter, struggled with herself and bawled like a baby at the packs reaction to her coming out so to speak.
Edie was such a sweetheart yet strong when it counted. I was very impressed with her determination to be herself no matter what anyone else said and was very proud of her.
Rolly was so great with reaction of Edie I cried yet again. I have never cried so much while reading a book but it was a happy cry. Amazing twists and turns as the pack deals with several things going on at once. This pack is truly a family that stands by each other no matter what the circumstances are.
Rolly and Edie made such a great couple and they both seemed so much stronger when in the presence of the other. Rolly was so sweet to wait until Edie was ready. He was strong yet sure of himself. His powers as a Shaman were simply jaw dropping.
The whole book was well written and takes you on an emotional journey and a rescue mission for Edie’s sibling in Siberia. Action packed, intense scenes and some hot sex made for an amazing addition to the Spotless series.
Two of my favorite characters are in this book so that meant some hilarious sarcastic comments from Cliff and Bobby. This book has everything adventure, action, drama, mystery and love. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. Absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to everyone.
You have to read this book.
