Blurb: Detective Nicola Dupree is back at work after a six-month sick leave, but he’s still haunted by his sister’s tragic death. When Captain Moore gives him an unofficial undercover assignment to befriend the sexy, charming Nero Thorn, the erotic writer Nicola idolizes, he quickly accepts. He thinks it’s an easy job until he gets to know the mysterious BDSM author. Overwhelming emotions he can’t explain draw him ever closer to Nero.

Nero Thorn’s a recluse and he likes it that way. When he literally bumps into his shy, handsome new neighbor, Nicola Dupré, sparks fly. He’s drawn to Nicola like a moth to a fire and he quickly falls in love. But he has a dark, dangerous secret he’s kept hidden from the world for years. If Nicola ever finds out who he really is, he’ll run away in fear.

There’s a serial killer out there, and the murder of his sixth victim was written in Nero’s last novel before it ever happened. There’s a connection between Nero, the sixth victim, and the killer, and Nicola has to figure it out before the killer strikes again.

Review: Nicola is asked to go on an unofficial undercover assignment as his first job back after taking a six-month leave following the brutal murder of his sister. All Nicola has to do is befriend erotic romance writer Nero Thorn and do a little digging to see if he has any connection to a series of killings. When Nero bumps into his new neighbor, Nicola, he feels an instant attraction, but he can also tell Nicola isn’t telling the whole truth. But, then Nero is also hiding a dark secret. Getting involved with charismatic Nero isn’t part of Nicola’s plan, but he can’t resist the sexy man. But, with the serial killer still loose, Nicola has to decide if his judgment has been compromised or if he can truly trust his instinct about the mysterious Nero.

This is quite a good mystery story that has an interesting paranormal twist. Nero has secrets in his past. It’s a door he closed many years before, but he knows that he will have to tell Nicola if they are going to stay together. But, first he has to deal with the shocking truth about Nicola. Nicola finds him in deep when he goes undercover. He begins to fall for the suspect, Nero, never realizing that the secret that Nero has is more shocking than anything he could have thought of. With the killer still on the loose and still hunting for victims, Nicola has to keep his head in the game. Is Nero just an author whose muse guided him to write a murder that came true or is he a psychopath who takes pleasure in murder?

I actually really enjoyed this story until near the end. I was really into the characters of Nicola and Nero, and I found them both really interesting. Nicola has suffered from both loss and guilt. Nero has suffered the same years before, and both men connect on a level which has sparks flying between them. Nero’s first secret was really interesting and fit perfectly into the story. Adding a touch of mystery and intriguing me. The storyline keeps you reading as you try to determine who the serial killer is. Nero and Nicola keep it spicy and yeah, while you have to suspend belief over the police investigation, it is still interesting.

Now I will be honest and say the ending was rushed, unbelievable and wasn’t needed. The second secret that Nero had wasn’t needed in the least and really it nearly ruined the book for me. the way that Nicola reacted was unbelievable and the story should have finished without the big revelation. The author should have just left it with Nero forgiving Nicola and them having hot sex, because the ending really was rubbish; that paranormal revelation wasn’t needed in the least and nearly ruined everything that had come before. Don’t get me wrong, I really did enjoy this story and I was going to give it a higher rating until I got to those last few pages, the ending revelation was just unneeded.

I will recommend this to those that love paranormal/psychic abilities, hot great characters, an interesting storyline and a happy ending.

Review:   Drew has two goals for his life. 1: to become a smoke Jumper for the elite Loveland Smoke Jumper team and follow his father’s footsteps.  2: to win over the man of his dreams, Wesley Payton, whom he has had a crush on for ten years.

Wesley is a seasoned Smoke Jumper. He doesn’t mess around with the men in his team. He hasn’t really ever had a long-term relationship, but he isn’t the player his team thinks he is. The right one just hasn’t come along yet.  He is determined to ward off the advances the hot Drew makes to him.  But, is that one fire that could burn out of control and he can’t seem to extinguish? I’m not telling. You should read this one and find out!

What’s not to love about this book?  It’s full of sexy firefighters, action, adventure, suspense and romance. The characters are deep and well-developed, the story moves fast and smooth, and the man-sex is on fire! I also loved the way the romance was treated like it was a raging fire also.  The whole story is hot and exciting.

Recommendation:  If you like younger man in love with an older man, a man determined to get what he wants, Firefighters, action and suspense, and hot mansex, then this is for you. I highly recommend it!

Review: Sawyer and his twin, Riley, lost their entire family and Guild seven years ago when they were only thirteen.  They are approaching their twenty-first birthday, when they are betrayed by a friend. Sawyer is brutally attacked when he is rescued by his mate, but can he trust a man who doesn’t tell him the truth? Jake is surprised when he finds the man he rescued is his mate, he knows that there is horror lingering in Sawyer’s past and he tries to prove himself to his mate. When a foe comes back to finish what they started seven years before, Jake and Sawyer can only pray that they are strong enough to survive.

This is an incredible beginning to a brand new series from a brand new author. Sawyer has been running with his twin Riley for seven years. Hiding and dodging from those that hunt them, until they are betrayed by one they call a friend. Being rescued by wolf shifters doesn’t create much trust, but finding his mate has Sawyer wanting to believe that he is now safe. Jake is trying to have a relaxing evening with his friends, when they come across a young man being attacked. Discovering that the man is his mate is shocking, but discovering why his mate was attacked means they all have to be on guard. Getting Sawyer to trust him isn’t easy, especially when Jake hides the truth. But, danger lurks and they have to pull together to protect their family.

Well, this story is a great start to a series and I can’t wait for other books by Jess Buffett. This story is filled with enough background that you never feel lost. The history is explained early on and you get a good idea how the Guilds and Clans are formed. The story is very interesting and is woven really well. The flash back to the past is informative and makes your heart bleed a little and the characters are brilliant. Jake is Kayan (alpha) of his pack and although he has the typical alpha tendencies, it is also tempered by his acceptance of Sawyer’s abilities. Sawyer might look like a twink, but he knows how to handle himself. He isn’t a pushover and makes his feelings known. Riley is a wonderful brother and is a joy to meet. He has a spunky attitude and will let you know in sarcastic tones that he is unhappy.

While some of you might moan about insta-mates, this story handles it perfectly because although the connection is strong between Jake and Sawyer, they wait to actually mate and there isn’t much angst in their relationship, keeping all the tension for the enemies from the past. Although there is hot sex, it doesn’t litter the pages and isn’t in inappropriate situations so you can enjoy the storyline and the relationship in equal measure. I really am looking forward to Riley’s story in Riley’s Vampire Prince because Riley and Caleb clash right at the end of this story.

I will recommend this story to those that adore paranormal, the past rearing its ugly head, a great storyline, wonderful characters, hot sex, a well-paced mating and a happily ever after.

Love brings redemption, but both struggle with their respective sordid pasts. Time will tell what sacrifices they have to make in order to find a loving relationship in the new bargains they strike.

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Remy has been a bad, bad boy.  He lies to get what he wants and picks up women for his bed, but his behavior and attitude are in response to being hurt five years ago by the man he loved. Now, his soul is up for grabs and to avoid Hell he accepts an Incubus contract to become a Hell Hound to Deacon, a Class A Incubus. Deacon jumped at the chance to take up Remy’s soul, determined to bring him to heel and enjoy the delights of gay sex.  But, it backfires when Remy insists on a deal; he will sleep with Deacon, but only when Remy has fixed the mistakes of his past. But, falling in love was never part of the deal, and they both have to make a sacrifice in order to finally be together.

This is a great story where a different sort of Incubus Contract is entered into. Remy was hurt by his Moon Mate when he caught him cheating.  Since then Remy has slept his way through as many women as he could.  hurting them with his callus behavior and devil-may-care attitude. Finding himself in the position of an Incubus Contract or Hell, Remy takes the easier option and is handed over to Deacon. Deacon is pleased to get Remy’s contract and sets out to prove that Remy will be his.  But, it is harder than he thought it would be when he begins to have feelings for Remy. But, to admit his love would mean becoming mortal.

I really enjoyed this story and loved the clashes and conflicting feelings that both Remy and Deacon have.  Both characters are very interesting and even though Remy comes across as an Alpha, he also has submissive feelings that Deacon draws out. The storyline is really good and I thought Remy’s mumblings and grumblings were funny.  Deacon’s sacrifice is sweet and the two together are a great match. This story is well written and gives a different sort of Incubus Contract that was quite imaginative, there’s some slight D/s and some really hot sex and a whole load of love.

I will recommend this to those who love the paranormal, some great twists, stubborn men, hot sex, falling in love and a happy ending.

Review: Corrin is a prince of the Seelie Court.  He has spent the last five years in the human world and now it is time for him to return home. But, before he settles down into the life planned for him, he has one week to enjoy himself with his two human best friends and what better way to begin than a night in Purgatory, a fetish nightclub forbidden to the Seelie. Adrian is a prince of the UnSeelie Court drawn inexplicably to a sexy man with white-blond hair. Taking the young Seelie on a journey of discovery in the forbidden, he knows he will take any risk to see him again. But, Corrin has a choice, live a miserable life ignoring his needs or embracing the forbidden and facing banishment.

Well, well, well, Jana Downs what a naughty girl you are, you have written a story that has a wonderful blend of want, need, love and kink *bites lip* oh yeah, kink *shudder*. Corrin has had forbidden dreams for years, dreams of submission, dreams of a man.  It’s something that he knows he can never have, because if he ever caved into the dark needs he would lose everything. Adrian embraces his sexuality with open arms and embraces the task of initiating Corrin in the ways of man on man sex and submission. But, when Corrin disappears back to the Seelie Court, he looks for any way to get the delicious submissive back.

This is a great story of accepting your wants and needs, finding love in unexpected places and a determined love. I have to admit that the world that Jana Downs has created for her Fae world is startling in its views. The Seelie Court is very strict and everything is proper.  Men join with women and their sex is strictly vanilla. If you fail to comply, then you are either beaten and exiled or entered into the ‘sexuality rehabilitation program’ (brainwashed). While the UnSeelie Court embraces those who are seen as perverted by the Seelie and encourages them to be who they want to be.

Adrian and Corrin’s relationship is wonderful and the sexual spark between them is explosive.  The sex between them is intense, passionate and erotic with a delightful dash of BDSM and you know that the intensity of their feelings will endure. I really enjoyed this story and have to admit that it did produce conflicting feelings, because although I loved Adrian, Corrin and one or two of the Seelie, the rest of them could get trapped in hell for their attitudes. Corrin pulls at your heart towards the end, his torment makes you want to cry.

I have to recommend this to those who love paranormal, Fae, a judgmental society, angst, kink and light BDSM, hot explosive sex and a love that will endure.

Product Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/going-under

Review: This was quite a story I might admit. I know it was a ménage and I expected the steam and fire to burn. Well, I got all that alright, it was hot as Hell and it didn’t disappoint one bit. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the author went for an actual plot, a storyline for each of her characters, and then some. The guys here were not just pretty faces with killer bodies; they actually had some personality and a life on their own, beside their incredibly complicated non-relationship (at least at first). Admittedly, their personalities were too much alike, there was a fine line separating them, but it worked well within the series title “The Heroes of Silver Springs”.

Cameron, sexy devil that he was, had a weird baggage left due to his parents being too much in love with each other. That made him not want to ever fall into that trap, so he’s avoided it at all costs. Of course, life being the bitch that it is, he finally falls, not for one but two, at the same time… The frustration on who to choose, being unable to make that choice and even more unable to step back leads to interesting events.

Adrien, whom we first see in the story, is equally sexy and equally dedicated to serving the law and saving people. Perhaps that’s what drew him to Cameron in first place. However, even though he knows Cam is dangerous to him and not into relationships, he still can’t let it go. And to top it all, there is Thaddeus, a temptation if there ever was one, fireman and deeply in love with Adrien. Being in the middle of this roller-coaster of emotions Adrien needs to make a choice. And right when he thinks he has things under control they change yet again…

Thaddeus, he’s the sweetest of them all, and apparently the one with the hidden talents. You’ll have to read it to understand what I mean 😉 Thad loves Adrien, period. He loves him for many things, but most of all his honesty. Honesty that has Adrien admitting that he can’t be with Thad, even as he feels way too much for him, because he feels the same about another man. A man that Thad gets to meet and Mother of all Monsters, he falls for too.

When I say there is frustration on hands for the better part of this book keep in mind that it’s the understatement of the year. The relationship part is wonderfully developed in my opinion, considering their jobs schedule and the unplanned events that took place. Their intimate moments, although they are few, are charged with electricity and clearly painted the imagery in my head. Loved it. The humorous streaks were livid and I found myself laughing, a lot.

The action plot though I felt it has some holes. Some things were just not credible enough and left questions unanswered. It didn’t do much to kill the story though, and if you don’t pay a freakish attention to it, you might not even notice. But, I could definitely do without the extremely developed aspect of Terry’s love life; especially when it came right in the middle of a very interesting scene between the guys, and boy did that happen often. Now I didn’t mind the m/f scenes in the story, not at all, it simply threw me when it cut through and had me waiting for some paragraphs to see what is going to happen with the men. It even tempted me to skip through it and go on. In the end, Terry’s part felt like a story within a story and ruined the mood a bit when trying to follow the main storyline.

But, if you don’t mind the above and if you’re willing to turn a blind eye, I strongly suggest you read this book. It was fun, it was fast, it was hot and it was approachable feeling-wise. You’ll love the story and the guys and you might even get a laugh or two with some funny incidents taking place.

Review: I loved every aspect of this story except one. The characters are wonderful and the story was wonderful. I like the fact that a guy did not just come out then jump into a relationship. Most guys in situations like this freak out and run or at least take time go and think. Thank you for making that real. The only part I did not like about this story was the dirty talk. It seemed stilted and unreal, like the author doesn’t know how to use dirty talk during sexual encounters. This is the only reason I gave the heart rating a 4 instead of a 5. It kind of cooled the libido a little when they were trying to talk dirty and be Dominant. Neither one of them is a Dominant or an Alpha, much less a submissive. Now, however, giving over to each other control is a different matter and they handled that beautifully. I hope a sequel is planned for this book with the same characters, because I will read it!

Review: As Christmas approaches the brothers are all feeling the strain of the constant demon attacks, many of them are finding it difficult to find a balance with their mates and it comes to a head as they prepare for Christmas. With advice from Desmond for the brothers and advice from Elena for the mates, can they all find common ground and make it a happy Christmas for all?

This is a great visit to the Marius’ and finding that not everyone is happy in the Marius household. All the mated brothers are going through turmoil with their mates. Remus is feeling neglected and ignored by Noah. Victor doesn’t realize that his actions are hurting his mate, Malachi. Damian feels like he should be doing more for Cyrus. Stefan feels as though Patrick is pushing him away and Micah feels that Riley puts everything and anyone before him and their daughter. And, then we have Gabriel who is struggling with his would be mate, Caven.

Well, its ups and downs as everyone tries to save their matings, with Desmond offering his boys advice to help them get their matings back on track. It isn’t easy for our favorite vampires and some things just miss their marks. There are tears and hurt feelings ahead as the mates do what they can to fix things, but sometimes breaking point is reached and outside help needed. Get ready for storming out, shouting and slamming doors. This is a good story of the pit falls of not communicating, of hiding feelings and trying too hard or too late. There’s angst, pleading, explanations and finally making up and really hot sex, and there’s also a surprise from Virgil.

I have to recommend this to those who like angsty situations, repairing relationships, reconnecting with your lover and re-finding happiness.

Blurb:  The Cajun’s first Christmas with his mate is filled with the promise of many things. Chief among them is a key for Evan St. Germaine’s house and a collar for Gideon Green. Their relationship has progressed far enough that they both feel like the most important people in their lives should come together at a special party for both the French Quarter Brats and Evan’s wolf pack. It is promised to be a very eventful party, and Gideon and Evan are hopeful for a wonderful time.

However, tensions arise as the party begins and outside influences cause the partygoers to fall under a spell designed to make them behave cruelly toward one another. Hateful words are exchanged, and Gideon leaves the house to escape the conversation. Little does he know that old friends are waiting for him and an unexpected Christmas intervention will make the celebration a bit more exciting than the couple originally planned.

NOTE! This is a holiday book featuring the characters from Pet du Cajun and is not stand-alone.

Review:  This story is part of a series which must be read in order. Evan has big plans for Christmas which include introducing Gideon to his pack. But, things don’t go to plan when the party for both sets of friends takes an unexpected turn and fears come to light. Can Evan convince Gideon that he wants him for good and can Gideon shake off his past and embrace what Evan offers him?

This is a good continuation of Rock Bottom Boys, letting us see how Gideon and Evan are progressing in their relationship. As Christmas approaches, Evan has decided that it is time to claim Gideon as his boy. He has the collar and a key to the house to give to Gideon, but Gideon has noticed that Evan hasn’t become his master fully yet and it has caused him unease. The insecurities break free during their party and when Gideon leaves he lands in trouble, and his friends and Evan’s have to come together to find him.

I must admit to having a bit of disquiet as I read at first because of how deep into the submissive mind-set that Gideon seemed to be in and how he seemed to pander to everything that Evan wanted, but I was soon set at ease as Gideon bit back with a snarl and showed that he still had his backbone. It is so easy sometimes for a character to get lost in the wants of others, but Jana Downs has these characters nicely balanced out, and although there is some butting heads from the dominate men; there was no walking all over the submissive men.

This is a really good book and we get to know the members of Evan’s pack, we meet Gideon’s friends and there is more from the vampire prince. We have a better idea of what is going on in New Orleans and there are some interesting connections made, and it is interesting to learn more about the paranormal aspects as well.

I will recommend this to those who love D/s relationships, hot sex, frustrating wolves, impish brats and a happy ending with the promise of more interesting stories to come.

Review:  Now this book was a very fun and light read. It started well with the Lion-Shifter Alpha mistaking Mer for a woman and ordering him as a mate from Galactic Nuptials. It followed even better when Mer arrives at his destination and the shifter brothers not only get the surprise of their life but are actually trying to keep themselves in check in order not to succumb into their cravings. The harder they try not to really, really mate with Mer, the harder it gets. And to make their lives even more miserable, their adversary from their home planet kidnaps Mer and holds him hostage. It makes for a very funny scene when Delsin finds out that no matter how much he intended to only use Mer, he’s fallen deeply for him and both brothers go berserk on their way to get back their mate. Ok, I admit it; personally I’d love it if there was a bit more blood and gore. Yeah, call me sick, but c’mon, lion-shifters and a war between two tribes? There was not enough “roaring” there for my likening. And I’m going admit another thing. The whole 5 people tribe against a (undefined number) larger one and ending up winners? So very nonrealistic. But hey, it didn’t do much to undermine the book, since the funny and hilarious factor of the story was constant. I had a real laugh with this one and the end of it had more giggling adding to the pile.

And did I forget to mention the great ménage here? Oh my God!!! Yeah, I’m kinky as Hell, but this triangle was very, very good. It could be much better of course, but nevertheless I enjoyed it immensely. The two brothers worked well with Mer and their sexual interlude was hot. I must say that Mer had quite an endurance for such a small, little guy…

And I know, I am being a bit vague and all but I so don’t want to give out spoilers. I have to give due credit though to the author for her remarkable sense of humor.

A must read for the fans of the genre I totally recommend it. 😉

Blurb: Former Roman soldier Gristle—“tough and hard to swallow”—has rarely allowed anyone in his life to become close to him. One outstanding exception is Tristus, a man he saved ten years before from the urges of lonely soldiers near the Wall of Hadrian. Tristus became his own lover for eleven months, and then he disappeared. Ten years later, the young pony trainer Wynn is smitten by Gristle’s looks and manner and follows him to his new home in Éire (Ireland) where he becomes his lover.

The stories of the three men interweave until at last they all three meet briefly in sacred Tara, home of the High King. Wynn is abducted by druids with sinister and lustful designs, and Tristus wants to follow the ministry of Father Patrick.

Thus no sooner has Gristle found an old lover and a new one than they are all pulled apart by the one whom Gristle calls “the bitch goddess Fortuna.”

Review: Gristle is a sworn armsman, unlucky in love and rarely seeming happy. He is sworn to protect the hellion, Caylith, and it is a journey that will take him to Ireland and discovering new and old love. Wynn is the pony trainer. He wishes for Gristle to train him, but he is also strangely attracted to Gristle as well. But, love doesn’t run smoothly when Gristle’s old love turns up and Wynn finds himself in more trouble than he ever imagined.

This is a very interesting novel that pulls us into 5th Century Ireland as Roman, Welsh and English immigrants flee from the Saxon promise of invasion of Britannia. Gristle lost the only man he had loved when he disappeared in the night 10 years before, and now with Wynn he has a new opportunity to embrace love, but the path is not an easy one. Wynn wants nothing more than to be with Gristle, but when Gristle’s old love arrives on the scene he has brief doubts. But, before he can reaffirm his love with Gristle, Wynn is kidnapped and Gristle thinks he has run.

I must admit to enjoying the storyline of an old Roman soldier, Gristle, and a Welsh pony trainer, Wynn, falling in love and then Tristus arriving confusing Gristle. I found those aspects of the story to be good and the way something would come up to keep them from sorting out the problem was interesting. Wynn’s kidnapping was surprising and added a touch of meat to the bones, but was completely unrealistic, and Gristle’s casually dismissal of Wynn when Tristus turned up was much more than just dented pride. Tristus was a great character who came through as a much better man than Gristle did.

I will admit to being completely baffled when the story suddenly took a turn back in time by ten years to when Gristle and Tristus first met. Mainly because Gristle had already remembered it all earlier on, but secondly because it didn’t add anything new, until we got to Tristus’s POV and we find out why he disappeared. It just seemed to be more filler than any useful aspect of the story. The author has done a very good job of creating a world for Gristle and company and using artistic license to make it work.

So, I will recommend this to those who love historical stories, Romans, Welshmen, primitive hot sex, fighting for survival and a happy for now ending.

Blurb: Levi, Erik, and Marius think that by moving to sanctuary they’re getting their happily ever after, a future that includes a small wedding, some cake, and a little family drama. Little do they know that Levi and Erik’s angelic fathers have a surprise wedding present for them—four Elite guardian angels sworn to protect them.

Brax, Axis, Keer, and Jade claim the three are destined to be their mates and that they’ve been watching over them since the beginning. They also offer redemption for their Fallen lover, Marius, and a family far larger than any of them had originally planned for. Can Levi, Erik, and Marius overcome their insecurities and fears for the chance at a love of a lifetime? Or will they let their scarred pasts ruin all chances of happiness?

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/angelic-union

Review: This story picks up where His Guardian Angel 03 – Angel Kin ended, with Levi, Erik and Marius getting married and will run parallel with some overlap. Marius is overjoyed to be marrying his Nephilim, but a spanner gets thrown in the works by his new fathers-in-law, and now he has to contend with four Elite guardians. Eric and Levi have both realized that the four Elite will be more to them than just guardians, but they know it will be hard on Marius to accept them and try to ease him into having them around. Axis, Brax, Ker and Jade know that the two Nephilim and the fallen angel are their mates, and they know that they will have to take it slow and ease them into a relationship especially Marius but they get unexpected help from Uriel.

This is a well written novella that shows us more of the Angelic aspects and the redemption of Marius. Marius, Levi and Erik are really happy, they are in love and are getting married but when they are presented with four Elite guardians, and Marius knows that his Nephilim will never be able to resist the pull of sex. Levi and Eric fight the pull hard but Marius discovers that all seven of them are meant to be, but that doesn’t stop the doubts or the fears they harbor. The four Elite know that they have to slot into an already established relationship and they know it won’t be easy, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t chaffing themselves to create the bond between all seven of them.

You know, I started this book really excited. I was going to get to know Marius, Erik and Levi better after meeting them all in The Guardian Angel Series and see what would happen with the Elite guards they were given, *sigh* I am glad I got to know Marius and Erik better and got the chance to meet Axis, Brax, Keer and Jade, but, Levi I wish I had never met. Jesus. what a manipulative little shit and how proud he was of himself for wrapping the men round his little finger and such a whiny brat. I can’t remember the last time I disliked a character so much. WHAT happened? I can’t remember Levi being like this before!! Anyway, I am ignoring him. Erik and Marius are really good characters and I wish we could have spent much more time getting to know their backgrounds better, and what made them both tick more. the same for the four Elite Axis, Brax, Keer and Jade, we did get to know them slightly, but not as well as we could have hoped for. Hopefully, we will get to know them better in the future books.

I am looking forward to the future books and seeing how Marius handles going from Fallen to Elite with that special little power that he has developed. I want more from Erik as he is a spit-fire and I want to see a more solid development of the extended group and I want Levi to grow up and act like a man. Now, the sex in this is very hot and plentiful with quite a bit of verity. the storyline is good and you really do hope that they all work it out. the only thing that niggled for me was that it felt that Marius was forced into a situation that should have happened naturally.

I am going to recommend this one to those who love angels, fallen angels, nephilim, hot sex, a slightly awkward relationship and an eventually happy ending.

Blurb:   They’re an unlikely couple—Harley Sinclair, pilot and openly gay, likes fast cars, easy boys, and late nights. Quinn Lancaster, lawyer and deep in the closet, likes his life quiet with just that little bit of extra spice that engaging in a ménage with his wife, Miranda, and Harley adds. Neither of them can admit that there might be more to this affair than just indecently hot sex.

A lie soon breaks them apart, but when Miranda dies in an accident, Harley and Quinn are reunited by an even more unlikely couple—twin sons with different fathers. While Harley is willing to commit to the responsibility of having a family, Quinn’s fear that accepting Harley at his side will destroy everything he has worked for keeps them apart. But when Harley makes the ultimate sacrifice, Quinn realizes that sometimes, what appears to be the worst case isn’t quite so bad after all…

Note: This book contains forced seduction. Female on Male

Review:   This was a pretty good book. At first when I saw the woman appear I was like, “oh no. another mmf and gunna be all about the girl.” I was wrong. I am so glad I kept on reading. The woman’s part was short, but really important to the story.  So here we go.

Harley likes fast cars, fast planes and a fast sex. He is openly gay and very happy with his life as it is. He isn’t looking for change. Then he meets Miranda Lancaster. She changes his life forever in so many ways.  She comes on the plane and asks to meet the captain. He sees straight away she is interested, but he would rather have her husband than her.   He is in a randy mood and glad when they leave so he can take matters into his own hands. She shows up early and comes on hard and strong, not taking no for an answer. Caution this here is a fine line between seduction and rape; he does say no but doesn’t really fight her off.  A couple of weeks later, the Lancasters come back and she repeats the performance. He still tells her no, but goes with the flow. Then the story skips a little and he shows up at her house, ends up in her bed and her husband joins them. This is where the story gets good. The sex is hot. Very hot. Then the story skips again and he shows up at their house again. Only this time Quinn, the husband, beats Harley up landing him in the ER. When Harley really thought things were going great for them he was willing to accept Miranda just to be with Quinn (Quinn is a big lawyer still in the closet). The story skips again and it has Quinn showing up to tell Harley he has a son. From here the story really picks up. There are lots of more twists and turns heartache, agony, really hot sex, but overall a good story. It’s worth reading.

I liked the story a lot after the first couple times with the woman seducing him. Once it got to adding Quinn it got better, though I really didn’t particularly like Quinn. I wanted to shake the living crap out of him over and over and a few times to smack some sense into Harley.  My only complaint with the book was the skipping of time. Each chapter seemed to go from days to weeks to years; maybe a header would have helped. But, all in all, it was a good read with lots of twists and a nice love story which I am a sucker for. I like one with lots of angst and fighting to get what you want.

I would recommend this to anyone that likes a long story with lots of twists, men in uniforms, and suits, a bit of mmf action, fast cars, fast planes, fast men, great fathers, an mm story with children (family) and really hot mansex.

Review: Abraxas has been haunted in his dreams by a demon. A demon that is everything that Abraxas has ever wanted and when he is killed and sent to the underworld Svel (the demon he dreams of) is the one he turns to. Svel has been plagued by a human for weeks in his sleep and now that human’s soul has washed up on the shores of Amaia, in the underworld. The connection between them is strong and the Fates play their hand, but do Svel and Abraxas have the strength and love to face their future together and survive?

This is an incredibly imaginative novella that is vivid in its descriptions and passionate in its loving. Abraxas is a warrior and faces the underworld like any warrior would, head held high and fear hidden deep. he accepts the hand that is dealt to him and the new opportunity that is pointed his way. Meeting the demon that has haunted his dreams eases him some and him and his demon fall in love, but an enemy comes out of the shadows and Svel and Abraxas have to face the Fates. But, the enemy refuses to play by the rules and Abraxas soul hangs in the balance.

Okay, before we go any further, I want to give you a warning that if you haven’t a strong stomach then read with caution because some of the descriptions are vivid and disgusting and that is just the Titan’s (four overlords of the underworld). Leontii Holender has given us a vivid look at the underworld, with incredible descriptions, a great storyline and a hectic journey. We are given a full picture of the surroundings and pitfalls that Abraxas and Svel face and it is a miracle that they managed to fall in love and stay together with everything that is chucked at them.

Abraxas and Svel face danger to be together and to stop an enemy from destroying Svel. They both risk everything to love the other and they are both willing to give up everything for the other. When these two are together, you could cut the air with a knife because of the attraction and wan, they are very passionate and erotic and yes, there is an element of D/s and slight BDSM, but it is a demon thing. The sex is hot, erotic and passionate but there are elements of love and they need that love for what is to come.

So, this story has a lot going for it, demons, Titans, a perilous journey across the underworld, incredible descriptions, a demon and human soul falling in love, the Fate’s, the demon Queen, an enemy bent on destruction, hot sex and an ending that is great. So, really what are you waiting for?

Blurb: Ian Sheldon has come to Whitehaven Hall to undergo the trial that will initiate him into the brutal world of mage adepts, where slaughter is the reward for weakness and power alike. Ian knows the reality of the ranks he seeks to enter—his father was murdered by another mage.

Aodh Graeme is a surly but sensuously handsome demon with fiery hair and copper eyes—and a violent need for blood. Aodh is Ian’s servant and guide for the trials, magically bound to Ian for the duration of his test. This bond flows their magic between them, heightening the fierce attraction Ian already feels for the laconic demon. But, the alternate reality hosting the trials shows Ian his intimidating guide may not be trustworthy.

As Ian progresses towards the lurid horizon that houses his ultimate goal, he must decide if he will surrender to Aodh’s sensual pull—and possibly become the next victim of the mages.

Review: Ian has to undergo a trial to prove himself worthy of being a mage adept.  His assigned guide is a red cap demon called Aodh and they have a perilous journey before them. However, Ian has another motive for going through with the trial and he might have found an unexpected ally in Aodh. But, first they must come out of the trial alive and Ian fights his attraction to Aodh when he is shown that Aodh just might turn on him.

An interesting premise of how strict the magical world is with only the strongest being allowed to become mage adepts/sorcerers, well as long as they aren’t too strong. This is a well written story that gives us some background on the magic users and how they are treated by those who have stronger magic. Ian has to complete the trial well enough to become a sorcerer, but not so enough that he could be seen as a threat.  Either way the threat of death lingers over him. Aodh has no choice but to help Ian during the trial, but Ian surprises him and gives him a glimmer of hope. Now, they just have to get past Taylent (sorcerer in charge of the trial).

I will be honest and say that we don’t see that much of a romance; it is more of a passionate coming together and trust built during the trial and putting their lives in each other’s hands. It happens over a very short amount of time, but it does feel longer with everything that they deal with during the trial. The descriptions that we get from the pocket of space that the trial is held in are very impressive and kinda icky. I was impressed with the twist that emerged during the trial and I really liked Ian’s attitude regarding the current set up of the sorcerer’s ranks.

We don’t get to know that much about Aodh, which I thought was a shame, but he seems to suit Ian well when he realizes that Ian isn’t like the others that have come before him. The sex between them is very hot, but it isn’t sweet and gentle, it is very passionate and intense. The epilogue was cool and I really hope that we will get a sequel.

So, I recommend this to those who love magic, shaking up a system, revenge, vengeance, a hot demon and a hot mage and a happy ending (when they aren’t battling other sorcerer’s).

Blurb: A former member of a legendary vampire-hunting family, Andren MacGregor is now a vampire under the care of an extremely sexy and absolutely forbidden ancient Roman vampire named Lucian. He’s spent the past seven years fighting the growing attraction for his maker, and the fact that he is no longer human just seems to compound his prickly personality.

When his family steps back into the picture and a killer starts targeting Lucian, Andren has to come to grips with the things he’s been denying about himself. He’ll have to learn to balance being a vampire and being a hunter in order to protect the man he’s growing to love and the family that he’s sworn to protect.

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/reluctant-surrender

Review: Andren has had a lot to cope with first going from vampire hunter to vampire, then his unexplained attraction to his sire and finally having to cope with no longer being human. And now just when he is accepting his fate, his family are back and someone is out for him and Lucian. Lucian has waited patiently for years for Andren to come to terms with being a vampire. Now, he just wishes that Andren would turn to him for love. In the mean time, Lucian has to help Andren hunt down a killer who is targeting them both.

You know I wasn’t sure at first about the setting for this book, 18th century England, for vampires, but after reading it I found what better timeframe to have vampires live, than regency England when the aristocracy slept most of the day and partied at night. Andren used to be a vampire hunter, but then a hunt went wrong and he was turned. His family turned their back on him and he only had Lucian (his sire) left to rely on. Andren has now spent the last seven years basically sulking for the loss of his old life and refusing to come to terms with what he now is. He has also denied his feelings for Lucian.

Lucian has had the patience of a saint, looking after Andren and teaching him the ways of a vampire could not have been easy. The support that he has shown Andren is amazing and it is only his love for Andren that has had him being so strong in the face of Andren’s treatment of him. Lucian is a wonderful vampire and some of his close friends are great and they really fill the story out. When Andren finally let’s himself accept his circumstances, Andren and Lucian are beautiful together. And then they have Andren’s family to deal with and whoever is after them both.

This is a really good story that weaves a web of deceit and murder, of love and betrayal and of hope and forgiveness. Andren’s family discovers truths that their father hid. Lucian’s friends just might not be friends and Andren finally accepts Lucian’s love. I liked the way that this story was told and the descriptions of regency England, the sex is hot and passionate and the vampire powers are cool and varied. I will admit to not liking Andren at first, god what a big baby, but when he finally accepts that there is more to life and that he doesn’t have to give up his calling of taking down rogue vampires, he improved in my eyes by a huge amount.

So, if you love vampires, vampire powers, regency, danger, love, accepting your fate, finding out truths and having a happy ending then this is the book for you.

Blurb: After the collapse of civilization, Ager Munez finds work as an agent, helping customers with their zombie insurance needs. He’s a bit of a workaholic and a romantic at heart, but the only romance he’s been experiencing lately involves watching his bosses in tight-fitting jeans on casual Fridays.

Jim and Jason Tanner agree they want a third in their relationship, but have never been able to find the right man. When Ager begins working at Deadzone, they know that they’ve found their match. He’s smart, funny, and adorable in a way that should be illegal in at least four sectors.

When a zombie outbreak in Sector 7 requires field representatives, the two know the perfect candidate for the job. Little does Ager know that this mission will test him in ways he’s never been tested and land him not one but two hot men in his bed and his heart.

Note: This book contains double anal penetration.

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/working-stiffs

Review: Ager works at Deadzone, an insurance company that takes care of ‘all your Zombie needs’ including disposal of a zombie outbreak. Ager fantasies about his boss, Jim and on occasion Jim’s husband, Jason, but he never truly dared hope that he would ever catch either of their eyes, especially seeing as they are happily married. Jim and Jason have had their eyes on Ager since he started working for them, but have held off for the right time. Now, in the middle of a zombie outbreak, Jason is impatient and rushes things, but he is lucky, as Aga is receptive. Now, all they have to do is get out of sector seven alive.

This has got to be one of the best zombie stories that I have come across. I thought the characters were brilliant, the world building was great and the plot was really interesting. Ager is terrified of zombies, his dad worked for the UMF (United Military Forces) and sat on his balcony shooting zombies that strayed too close for the fun of it. But, it left Ager scarred and now Ager is quite happy to stay in his nice safe zone, in his nice safe job and not have to see a zombie ever again. Well, that is until his bosses ask him to go to Sector 7 with them. Both Jim and Jason own Deadzone and they have the perfect marriage, but they long for a third. Both are positive that Ager is that third and want to ease him in gently, but being in Sector 7 puts a rush on their relationship.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I cracked open this book, but it sure was a treat. Jana Downs has created a world in the future where a military experiment went wrong and they are now plagued with zombies and not just the run of the mill ‘brains brains’ zombies, no she has also given us second level Necros and Necro-Kings who are more cunning in their hunt for ‘food’. Ager, Jim and Jason find themselves cut off and hunted by these zombies and it is a trek for their lives, to get to a safe zone before they are caught. Ager has to let go of a lot of his fears and Jason comes to a realization about his active role in ‘clean-ups’. And Jim realizes that he isn’t cut out for field work anymore.

The progression of the story is great and yes, the sex is extremely hot and even though it might seem quick, it didn’t really feel quick because although they have just got together, they have all been sniffing around each other. Each man has to face something personal to them, Ager’s is the toughest to confront, as it is not just fear. Jim and Jason’s is more of facing the truth and accepting their limitations.

So, with this one, I will recommend it to those who love zombies, three hot men, hot sex, a run for your life, some slight betrayal, a bloody battle against zombies and a very sweet and happy ending.

Review:  Ok, first let me clarify that I do like ménage, Especially M/M/F and the blurb sounded really good. The story had a great premise. I mean a woman finding love with too hot men and them saving her from a sociopathic ex? Who wouldn’t like that?  But I was very disappointed. I found a lot of things in this book repetitive and some descriptive words much overused and really unnecessary. The two men were supposed to be long time lovers, and I get them being bi and wanting a woman in the relationship,  but for the first half the book there was no sex between them, even when they were aroused over her.   ON a more positive note, the story was cute. I loved the idea of two big, hunky and both alpha-type males in a relationship. The story had lots of potential.

I would recommend this to anyone that likes F/M/M relationships. Hot construction workers.  A little hint of Dom/sub and a damsel in distress.

Blurb: Discarded most of his life, Jamie had learned as a teen that he was a Soul Collector, one of a mysterious group who fought the demons that attacked fellow humans. Cast out into the world, alone, the orphan fought hard to find his way, ending up in a seminary of all places. But chastity wasn’t a problem. He had no time or trust for relationships, let alone love.

Ios felt protective of the Soul Collector, the one the prophecy claimed would one day be his mate. Following the human for years, Ios had done everything he could to ensure his safety without stepping out of the shadows. He also held his lust in check, knowing Jamie would never accept him.

The time was upon them to join forces. Could Jamie handle who and what Ios was, and trust the growing feelings between them before it was too late?

Review: Jamie was just fifteen when he discovered, in a horrific way, that he is a Soul Collector. Now, eight years later, he battles demons.  Nightly, saving the souls they have stolen and by day he’s in St. Bartholomew’s Seminary University trying to discover more about that which he battles. Jamie meets Ios who is a lot more than he seems and when Jamie learns the truth, he has an important choice to make. One that could affect his and Ios’s worlds.

This was a very interesting fantasy that kept me in its grip from the beginning. Soul Collector’s rescue doomed souls that have been taken by demons and when a Soul Collector dies, he takes them with him to heaven. Jamie is one such Soul Collector, but according to Ios, Jamie is also the Soul Collector of prophecy, who will save his world. But, Jamie is doubtful, especially when he discovers that he is supposed to mate with Ios. Ios has known for years that Jamie would be his. But, Jamie thinks in black and white, which makes Ios think that Jamie will never accept for what he is.

This story is wonderful and is well written. It has a bit of something for everyone, from angst to love, from danger to devastation, with a lot of mystical/spiritual magic thrown in. The storyline is brilliant and it is quite realistic to the storyline the way that Jamie is constantly torn with his feelings for Ios. Even though Ios has always expected to mate with Jamie, it is explained fully how he feels for Jamie and why and it adds to the depth of the story. Yes, we see Jamie confused and scared, but he man’s up and accepts what he is truly feeling and what he needs to do; after all there are worlds depending on his actions. The world building was good and we got a pretty good feel for Ios’s world, I really can’t wait for the rest of the series.

So, I will recommend this to those who love fantasy, demons, paranormal, hot sex, angst, confusion and guilt, a huge demon battle and complete annihilation of the baddie demons and a happy ending finally for Jamie and Ios.

The case takes a turn for the worse when the victims are identified as previous clients of Dark Horse and now the agents are all under suspicion. Chris must put his job first and set aside his feelings for Nick. The agents are all suspects, including the man he’s fallen in love with.

Review: Nick ‘Gust’ is sent on assignment and meets Chris. It’s instant attraction on both sides, but they have a job to do and the job leads to bizarre sightings; somebody has being messing with the elements. As Chris and Nick work together they become close, but Nick’s boss and workmates are against it. Now, Chris and Nick have to decide if they are meant to be together and how far will they fight for their love.

Okay, so I have to admit that this is my first Dark Horse *ducks head* (I know… but there are so many books out there) and even though I haven’t a clue what happened in previous books, I got into this one quite quickly and didn’t feel like I had missed anything, even when previous escapades were mentioned. Nick and Chris have an instant attraction, but because Nick is a Caller (has an elemental power) and Chris a Weeple (a normal human), Nick’s boss and co-workers (also like family to him) try to stop him from seeing Chris. Chris knows it could be difficult for them, but thinks it’s worth it.

Nick and Chris make a good couple and Nick knows straight away that Chris is the man for him and Chris falls for Nick easily. Unfortunately, Nick’s family is unhappy about it. While arguing with the other Callers, they still have to work together to solve the mystery of two murders that look like they have been done by Callers and as they dig deeper and strange things are sighted the answers just might rock the elemental world.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about the other Callers. I am sure that if I had read their stories I would have liked them more, but some of their attitudes towards Nick and Chris in this book made me dislike them…especially Burn. Nick and Chris are made for each other and it is a fight which ends with Nick turning his back on his family as they try to force him to do what they want. The sex between Nick and Chris is explosive and I was really happy that they decided to stick together and ignore the pressure they were under.

So, I will recommend this to those who love elemental magic, conflicting emotions, refusing to give in to pressure, hot sex, solving mysterious murders and a happy ending.
