Blurb: Aidan has always played it safe. Instead of pursuing his dream of creating innovative music that makes his soul sing, he settled for a degree in software, a job in a cubicle, and a spot in a generic band with his buddies.

And he’s always been straight. But when he’s seduced by magnetic local literary luminary Dario, Aidan must decide whether to keep playing it safe, or succumb to a ravenous passion and a nourishing love unlike anything he’s experienced before. Will he find the courage to go after real happiness if it means admitting he’s in love with a man?

Their journey together isn’t easy. Sometimes it isn’t safe. Even if Aidan has the courage to admit he’s in love with Dario, can he endure the repercussions of the traumatic event in Dario’s past?

Review: Varian Krylov is a new author to me, but one that I am very happy to have discovered. In this release of Dangerously Happy, she brings us a story that is not necessarily a new storyline but she has put a new twist on it that will pull you in and keep you glued to the pages. It is a dark read at times, the sexual content is very explicit, but it fits the story and will have you completely captivated.

Lets meet Aidan – single due to a recent break-up with his long-term girlfriend, plays the guitar and sings in a band, very handsome but doesn’t seem to know it himself. Not really happy in his day-to-day job but is good at his job. Trying to pacify his father, he chose a business degree instead of music, which was his lifeline. He belongs to a small time band that practises a few nights a week at a friend’s loft and performs gigs on the weekends. He has never considered himself anything other than a straight male. He’s kind of a loner sometimes, doesn’t feel he really fits in with the other guys in the band. The guys, almost always, stay after practise to smoke weed and tell tales about their women experiences from the nights before. Aidan stays on occasion, falling in line with his buddies, but most of them appear immature. After 10 years of just playing as if they have a band, Aidan wants to have one for real.

Now, let’s meet Dario. Charismatic, charming, good-looking, confidant or so he appears to those in his presence. He has a loft with a large space that he lets different people occupy almost nightly, whether it be artists or bands. What he doesn’t let others see is he is a damaged soul. He has some very traumatic experiences from his past that he still has not completely gotten over. He portrays someone who has everything and not afraid to go after what he doesn’t. Everyone knows he is gay, it’s not a secret, and no one seems to be bothered by it. He is a very generous man, always giving to others.

What you will learn about him as you read on is he is also scared. At his core, he feels weak and frightened. For three years, he has watched Aidan from afar. He notices everything about him, is intrigued by him, yet still keeps his distance. He only acknowledges him in general conversation with occasional hello’s and good-bye’s. To Aidan, Dario doesn’t even see him and while he doesn’t understand why this should bother him, he just knows that it does. How will Aidan react when Dario reveals his interest? Aidan has never had an interest in another man, until now. There will be many truths exposed, feelings uncovered, but will they admit these revelations, to not only each other, but also everyone else?

Varian Krylov has written a deep and sometimes dark story that will have you cringing at times but needing more. Everything, however, is not all doom and gloom. She will expose sides to her characters that bring out the best in them. She exposes their inner weaknesses but shows their strengths, as well. This is a long novel that has many twists and turns. You will be hooked from the beginning and even though the road sometimes is bumpy, you grab on for the ride. Ms. Krylov does not shy away from exposing scenes that sometimes are hard to read. She will also expose the caring, the sensual, and sexual sides to her characters. She doesn’t rush them into sex. She gives them time to come to terms with new developments they are experiencing. When they feel they are ready to be intimate with each other, you are ready also for them to take it to the next level.

As Aidan and Dario explore their sexual relations, not only are they breathless, but you will be too. As I stated earlier, this author does not skimp with the sexual content. Most always, it is very explicit, so if this is not your thing, you have been warned. However, if you love not having to guess or create your own scenes as you read, you will be in awe of this story. I think the author done an incredible job of showing many sides to a relationship, one where communication is as important as the physical acts. The story continues to move forward, never stilted or stagnant. As Aidan and Dario explore and experience many levels, they form a trust and a bond that will be hard to break. The content is expressive, but it is addictive and will leave you only wanting more. I will be exploring many more books by Ms. Krylov in the future.

Review: This is the first time for reading on of Amelia’s stories and I must say that it was good. I love the way that it just comes off as real to me although it definitely would be interesting to see. In the beginning, it gets confusing when it starts but I finally got it.

Silenus and Dion were fae, but also I think gods. They were together but they also sleep around. Silenus would get angry when Dion slept around, but he had not in a long time. When Silenus took things further than he should have, Dion never got mad. Then when Silenus goes through the portal, Dion follows him. Silenus found two humans that resembled them. He wanted to read them and to see what they were going to be like. He saw in Cole purity and loyalty. With Rick, he saw Dion. He saw that Rick would never be true to Cole. So he curses them. At the same hour when they are cursed, they must kiss. If they were apart, they would die.

It freaked Rick out more than it did Cole. He would never cheat on Cole, but he was scared that maybe Silenus was right. When he walked away he would lose his balance, not be able to walk and to him he felt like he was dying. Cole knew that he would never give Rick up but they were just teenagers. However, things don’t always go as you plan.

A curse for seven years, a deal with Silenus and Dion, and freedom seem to come all in the same way. It shows you that true love will always win out even in a separation between them, there was still love. I love the way the story was wrote, but not the story itself. It showed so much pain for two young men and I just don’t understand why they had to go through what they had to go through. I mean ok it made them stronger in the end but to go through what they did and still feel the love between them is strange.

I am not sure if I actually love the book enough to put it in my favorites list, but I am glad that I read it. I would recommend this story if you love sexy men, hot sex, fae that keep sticking their noses in the humans lives, suspense and a bit of anger.

Ian works at a bar his boyfriend, Calvin, owns. But, Calvin isn’t out to anyone, so he keeps Ian a secret until his sister comes to town and finds out. Ian wants more from Calvin but doesn’t know how to let his boyfriend know. After seeing Ezra again, he longs for what the sexy man he had a crush on in high school can give him. Ian is cute and is a submissive. When they finally get together, it’s hot and explosive. Calvin ends up beating Ian up after his sister finds out about them and threatens to tell everyone.

I found this story to be somewhat intriguing. Ezra introduces Ian to BDSM, which he craves more of after experiencing it.

The sex was hot and steamy.

Gigi’s Review:  ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

This was a hot, fun story about the one who got away. Old high school crush returns and dominates all of Ian’s thoughts, and eventually his sexual desires too! Glad Ezra did step in because Ian sure is settling for a jerk with his current closeted boyfriend. Things get heated when the current jerkface boyfriend sees that Ian is considering Ezra’s attentions, his family takes notice of their relationship, and the guy gets violent.

Moral of the story: give that high school crush a second chance, and don’t’ settle for vanilla when what you really need is to get your kink on.

This is a short, fun, and sexy little read. A bit extreme when the first sexually dominant scene involves sounding rods, wow, quite the jump there! But still enjoyable.

After several accidental meetings, they decide to road trip together. Review: By Virtue Falling is about James a con artist that is tired of cheating people and trying to figure out how to fix his mistakes and how to move on with his life. He took a trip to New Zealand to find himself and what he found was himself falling in love with not only New Zealand but also Tane a native that is going around New Zealand spreading his mother’s ashes.

Tāne is travelling New Zealand to spread his mother’s ashes in all of her favourite places. His Father and Sister were too busy to accompany him so he had to go it alone. That is until he ran into James a con man, not only once but three times. Could that be a coincidence or destiny?

I thought this is one of the most beautiful books I’ve read in a while. It is so descriptive that I felt I was on a tour of New Zealand. It is full of emotion, not a lot of action, though there was one part I found myself looking down that hole holding my breath….and there is no se at all but I found the budding relationship of James and Tane so sensual and sexy. The slow build of this relationship and deep emotion was very refreshing.

If you like, stories based abroad, different cultures, two men finding love, slow building relationships, Con men, righting wrongs, New Zealand and a very sweet sensual romance this is for you!

Review: What a refreshing and enjoyable read. I was glued to the pages from Chapter 1 and barely looked up until the end. Nicola Haken is a new author for me, but knowing what I know now, that will no longer be the case. I will be searching for everything she has. Be sure and read her “About the Author” pages at the end of the story. She is incredibly funny, witty, and someone you would definitely want as a friend. Being Sawyer Knight is a fun, light-hearted (most of the time) sexy novel that anyone loving the m/m genre should fully embrace. Let me introduce you to the guys:

First up, we have the amazing Sawyer Knight. Yep, the main character, and what a character he is. Among his many good qualities, he is also an incredible musician and singer-songwriter that has him and his band touring all over the world. Usually a girl, or two, left behind at every stop along the way. Sawyer left home the minute he was able, leaving behind a mother who was more concerned what the church would think and an abusive stepfather, who was only after what fame and fortune Sawyer’s musical capabilities would bring. Turned his back on his best friend, the only person who ever knew him inside and out, after a huge disagreement. For 10 years, they’ve had no contact, but the memories are always present. He carries a hole in his heart from walking away and not talking it out.
T

his is a good place to bring in Jake. Jake Reed, bodyguard and one-time best friend to Sawyer Knight. Jake is gay and was, and still is, in love with Sawyer. In high school, not knowing what else to do, for fear of losing him and never telling him of his feelings, he kisses Sawyer. Bad move on Jake’s part as it caused hard feelings, misunderstandings, and abandonment of his best friend. Now 10 years later, Jake will be working with Sawyer as his full-time bodyguard. Other than his safety, his main goal is to win Sawyer back, not only as his friend, but also as his lover. Jake knew when they were in high school that Sawyer was not 100% straight. Now he just has to prove it to Sawyer and get him to believe in their connection.

It turns out it’s not as hard as he thought it would be to convince Sawyer. One kiss and a lot of determination soon have Sawyer seeing Jake as more than just a friend. Their chemistry is explosive, their connection, magnetic. Sawyer may be a virgin when it comes to loving another man, but he catches on quickly. He wants Jake just as desperately and shows him frequently. Will he be able to tell his band mates about their relationship? What about his mother, who lives and breathes for the church? Jake is only sure about one thing…..He loves Sawyer and he will never walk away or allow Sawyer to walk away again.

Nicola Haken has written a beautiful love story with strong characters despite their differences. There are several key players within the context of story that are just as strong and very prevalent to the growth and development of the plot. Elle, which is Sawyer’s best friend and ally, brings definition to the story with her easygoing attitude, willingness to be a good listener and/or sounding board for Sawyer. The author shows us that communication is usually the best policy, and she utilizes this belief early on. I like the way Ms. Haken allows each character to find their own truth, what works for them, and at the pace they need. She throws in elements of surprise that will have you holding your breath one minute, and spiking your heart rate the next.

Sawyer has many concerns, mainly people finding out about Jake, but the author doesn’t dwell on that. She continually keeps pushing forward giving you, the reader, a sexy, fast-paced, fun-filled story. If you haven’t downloaded your copy yet, don’t wait any longer. This story will hold a place within that will have you wanting to read again and again. Bonus at the end, thank you Nicola for that, we get a hint as to who the next story will be about. I will be ready to one-click for the next story with glee and anticipation.

Blurb: Jory Harcourt doesn’t have to go looking for trouble. Wherever he goes, it seems to find him particularly when his partner, Sam Kage, is working undercover on a federal task force.

After the recession forces him to close his business, Jory goes to work as a match-maker and event planner. From there, it’s only a matter of time before his big mouth and up-front attitude make him the rope in a tug-of-war between a trust fund baby and a drug-smuggling criminal. Then, as if that situation weren’t delicate enough, Jory’s undercover lover shows up working for the smuggler.
Between the men who want him and the men who just want him dead, Chicago is getting a little crowded for Jory, so on the advice of his brother, his boyfriend, and the FBI task force, he heads for Hawaii… where a serious accident threatens his quality of life. Can Sam and Jory keep the faith and prove that their relationship really is bulletproof?

Purchase Link: http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=3578
Review: Let me start by saying this is my favorite M/M series. Mary Calmes has created the two most visual characters I’ve ever read with Sam and Jory. Polar opposites that bring out the best and the worst in each other. I listened to volume 1 & 2 (which is actually books 1-4) and HAD to know what happened next. So I purchased the kindle books for Bulletproof and But for You. Now, the first books were narrated by Paul Morey, best narrator available in my opinion. Bulletproof was taken over by Jeff Gelder, worst narrator available in my opinion. So, I am reviewing the audio version here, and sadly, Gelder will lower my rating. But story, writing and characters… Best series available in the M/M genre to date!

Jory and Sam are separated again. Sam has gotten a promotion to US Marshall and gone undercover to try to bring down a drug kingpin. The economy hit a little hard and Jory and Dillon had to close their design firm, so he’s been working with another firm in the interim. Of course, his knack for getting into trouble hasn’t changed so at a party he saves a young man from being thrown over the railing, the young man just happens to be the little brother of drug king pin Christo Liron. The same drug king pin that Sam has infiltrated undercover. Can you say awkward?! Especially when Christo sets his eyes on Jory.
If there is one thing Jory is good at, aside from his innate ability to find trouble around every corner, it’s aggravating Sam to no end. And Jory spending time with a psycho drug lord definitely raises Sam’s hackles. Long story short, there is only one man for Jory and that is Sam. Christo doesn’t take rejection well, and in an effort to remove Jory from the situation until the sting operation can bring Christo in… Sam and Dane convince Jory to take a little vacation to Hawaii. And yes, in fact, Jory can find trouble in the most beautiful place in the world! In his defense, this time a hit is put out on him, but still.
An ex boyfriend, an unwanted suitor, an inability to swim and chew gum at the same time, and a couple of pesky killers make for an interesting vacation. We get to see a lot of Jory without Sam in this instalment as he navigates his way through the separation anxiety and the continued threat around every corner. Must be Thursday! But then Sam’s life is put in danger, and Jory makes a split second decision that could cost him everything.
I loved how Calmes managed to work a little ‘angry sex’ into the mix though, when Jory and Sam ran into each other in the club while Sam was still undercover. And the declaration Sam makes when he thinks Jory is sleeping, about exactly when he knew Jory was his, Le Sigh. The way these two characters compliment and complete each other while trying not to kill each other, or be killed, is equal parts astonishing and hilarious. And the sex is hot enough to peel paint!
I loved everything about this, except the narration. Gelder simply read through the story and at a rush at times, with no change in nuance or tone from one character to another. This isn’t the first book I’ve listened to that Gelder narrated, but it will be the last. Sorry, but he just ruins the story. So I will still recommend this book, this series, ANY Mary Calmes book because I have yet to find one I didn’t like. But I’d pass on the audible copy and make the time to read it.

Review: This is book two in this series and they should be read in order. It is a pretty amazing story. I love the way it was told and the characters are awesome. I loved this book just as much book one. Felix is an operative with the Panthera Agency. They are searching for shifters that have been abducted. He has seen a lot of things in his life and he had not really wanted a mate or at least that is what he tells everyone. However when he meets FBI Ajay Singh he realizes that this sexy man was his mate. A mate that he definitely wants. Talk about a surprise of a lifetime.

Ajay is with the FBI and when he finds out that, his team is being replaced by another he goes to Felix to find out why. What he finds out however is that not only is Felix a shifter like he is, but he is his mate. Strong feelings start popping up and he will do everything to keep his mate safe and with him.

The danger they are mixed up in just gets a little crazier with each step they take. They find out a big surprise while painting a friend’s apartment, now all they have to do is how to get the answers they are seeking. Ajay and Felix are not only hot, smart, and sexy but they have the strength behind them to catch the men behind the kidnappings. When Ajay’s brother becomes one of the missing students, they will go to all ends to find him and saved him.

I loved this book. It has the right mixture of danger, excitement, adventure, love, and two hot men protecting shifters and their mates. It will give you everything that you want in a book. If you love the paranormal world then this is one book that you will want to check out. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.

Review: This is book four in this series and they should be read in order. It gives you an insight into each character and their lives. It makes it not only easier to not get misled but it makes for a better series. This book is a lot more fun to read then the others though. It just comes off a little better. I loved the characters and the way they act with each other is just a bit funnier. Timothy and his family have the problem of falling for the same people. So when Timothy falls in love with Dylan. Even though Dylan is mated. So here he is looking for Dylan, when he finds a vampire. Xavier scares him but also draws him in.

Xavier falls for Timothy at first sight but he is having trouble with Tim’s feelings for Dylan. It is a bit strange the way Tim and his family are. It takes a short while, but Tim’s feelings are strengthening for Xavier. But he is afraid to tell him that in his world it isn’t a mating between two people but three. He wonders what Tim’s reaction to the news that they are mated to Adrian also.

Adrian is a white wolf and he is mated to Xavier and Tim. He is scared that he will not be accepted in to the relationship. He is a gentle wolf who has had sexual fun with Xavier and another quite a bit but when you throw in mates it gets a bit exciting. Timothy is not sure what to think when he has two very hot men coming at him. He starts feeling things for both but in his world, it is not done. He wonders what his family will say that instead of two mates he has three.

When the danger comes for Xavier, it is Tim that goes to protect his mates. He almost loses his life saving them. Adrian is trying to keep his family safe as is Xavier but Xavier blames himself for Tim’s injuries. You can tell that there is love between these three men, but that they have fears that slow them down a bit. I think out of all of the books in this series that I have read this one is probably the one that I love a little more. I understand it better than the others do but it still comes off as a teenager’s story. The way they act just leaves me with more questions and not getting the answers. Although I assume that considering, they are each from a different world that it is just the way they are. Although Xavier does go to the human world for blood, he doesn’t really spend time there to learn their ways.

I love paranormal romance and when it comes with sexy men it is a given that I will buy it. I was not absolutely in love with this series but it is still a good read. I can’t wait to see what Amy has up her sleeve. She does have a gift at giving you a story that you can sink your teeth into. I might not have understood the way they act, however once I started reading it kept my attention all the way to the end.

Review: This book is part of the 1 Night Stand series, but each book stands alone. Each book focuses on a different set of character’s that are set up by Madam E and different authors write each book. I love Eva Lafoy and this story was fabulous.

Thomas is stranded in Mumbai where he was on business and found out his company downsized and left all its employees stranded where they were. He hasn’t been with anyone since his past lover was taken from him and still is hurting from that. With all the stress, he isn’t sure he is happy when he gets a notification from Madam E that she has set up his date since he had contacted her six-month ago and this was the first he has heard from her.

Arjun is a male prostitute and born into the slavery cartel. He has no choice in his life, has never experience real lovemaking with a man, and wants to have a real date, which is why he had contacted Madam E.

I love how Madam E is o mysterious and seems to pop up out of nowhere and always makes the perfect connections. Though I’m not a big believer in love at first sight, the mystical aura of Madam E seems to make it work. This story has lots of mystery, angst and passion.

It hints at the front that people wanted toms and Arjun’s story so I feel as if this comes from another book and I really, really want to read that too.

If you like angst, men making new lives, prostitutes, businessmen, mystery, love at first sight, and some hot sensual mansex, this is for you!

Blurb: Michael and Justin have both been hurt in the past, but when these two solitary, lonely werewolves find each other, they must decide if they’re willing to risk everything for love. Lynn Tyler presents Michael’s Heart, Book 4 of her paranormal romance series, Pack Mates.

Michael Ferris lives a solitary life, even as a werewolf within the confines of the Smooth Rock Falls pack. Not willing to risk getting hurt again, he’s built an impenetrable wall around his heart that only a few had even a chance of chipping away at. His job as a firefighter helps to keep his mind off his solitude for a while, but when he meets the right guy, Michael doesn’t know if he can let him in.

Justin Blake isn’t lonely by choice. In fact, he’s not even aware of just how lonely he is until he lays eyes on the handsome firefighter. As the shifter negotiator, Justin finds himself hopelessly drawn to Michael while helping to ease new shifters onto pack lands.

Can two hurting, lost souls heal each other, or will fear keep them apart even as the Smooth Rock Falls pack grows larger?

Review: Michael Ferris is content living his life as a fire fighter and a member of the Smooth Rock Falls pack. Recently though, more of his pack mates are meeting their mates, including his best friend since birth, Grayson. Michael feels the loneliness and continues to occupy his time with work, the pack and his friends. As much as he wants something more, he has an overwhelming fear of being hurt by anyone he loves. So he ignores his attraction to the sexy pack Lawyer Justin. Avoiding the man at all cost.

Justin stays very busy as a successful attorney, the pack lawyer and the shifter negotiator. But he to feels the loneliness on the rare occasion he allows himself to think about being alone. From that first moment he ran into the large, in charge Fire fighter, literally ran into Michael, and spilled his coffee down Michael’s shirt, he’s been smittin. And the spark only grows stronger when they finally shake hands and Justin feels the familiar tingle of electricity that is a sign to any shifter that they have found their mate.

Michael fights him tooth and nail. Michael’s wolf recognizes that the lawyer shifter is his mate and makes it difficult, and Michael going to Justin when the lust builds to take the edge off, then fleeing as soon as his mind clears is only making matters worse. Justin has fallen head over heels in love with his large, sexy fire fighter wolf. But he doesn’t want to be hurt either, and every time Michael pulls away, it tears him apart. Can Michael sift through all the pain and anger he holds inside over what his parents did to him, and find a way to let Justin in? Or will Justin tire of the back and forth yo-yoing that Michael is putting him through and give up the man entirely?

I am absolutely enamoured with the characters that I fell in love with in book one. And throughout this current story, Tyler has set herself up for several new couplings in future instalments. This time around, we not only have the Smooth Rock Falls pack but also they are welcoming several Tiger shifters who wish to have as much protection as possible for their Tiger Omega. And since the pack has been successful in keeping their own Omega, Quinn the alphas mate, protected the Tiger counsel sends Pierce to the pack for added protection. This doesn’t go without incident that was not fully explored, so perhaps that will be the core of the next book. Especially since Tyler briefly shows an attraction to Pierce from one of his most loyal bodyguards.

Several things start their course in this book that didn’t reach their final destination, so we have a ton of potential for this series going forward. I highly recommend you read these books, but start with the first one because all of the pack members are prominent characters throughout each book, so you’ll need to start at the beginning to have the whole picture!

Review: This story starts at the end and then goes back to share how it all began. Jon and David fell in love when they were teenagers, only to be torn apart by ignorance and betrayal. Both went on to live decent lives, got married and had children. But they never forgot about their first love. And now, at the end, David decides to write a story. And just when you think that the story will find a second wind, the next generation of ignorance rears its ugly head and Jon and David’s happy ever after, after all, is threatened… again.

This wasn’t a fast-paced story, slow to start but the author set that pace in the beginning and kept that flow throughout.

Some of the choices that Jon and David made along the way didn’t make sense to me. There is a part in the story where one of the gents sleeps with his girlfriend, and they exchange emotional words, I love you and so on. And then he goes back to his own bed, and the other gent crawls into bed with him. This is just an example of a couple of things in the book that confused me. And while the ending made me cry, it was a little bittersweet. I will say think Nicholas Sparks, but I won’t say which NS book exactly, that’d ruin the surprise.

Overall, I enjoyed this story, it was very beautiful and endearing and there was an evident passion between Jon and David without the usual sexually explicit storyline. This would be the perfect book for those that like the love story and passion that comes between two men, without all the naughty bits. A little bit angsty and drama filled, but a great soul mate story. I wish I could say more but I don’t want to write any spoilers.

Blurb: Cole Kenjiro McGinnis, ex-cop and PI, is trying to get over the shooting death of his lover when a supposedly routine investigation lands in his lap. Investigating the apparent suicide of a prominent Korean businessman s son proves to be anything but ordinary, especially when it introduces Cole to the dead man s handsome cousin, Kim Jae-Min.

Jae-Min s cousin had a dirty little secret, the kind that Cole has been familiar with all his life and that Jae-Min is still hiding from his family. The investigation leads Cole from tasteful mansions to seedy lover s trysts to Dirty Kiss, the place where the rich and discreet go to indulge in desires their traditional-minded families would rather know nothing about.

It also leads Cole McGinnis into Jae-Min s arms, and that could be a problem. Jae-Min’s cousin’s death is looking less and less like a suicide and Jae-Min is looking more and more like a target. Cole has already lost one lover to violence he s not about to lose Jae-Min too.

Review: Cole McGinnis is a half Irish, half-Asian gay man. The former cop has little to no contact with his mother and father since he came out. His older brother, an attorney, has never turned his back on his brother though regardless. It’s Cole’s brother Mike that brings him his latest job, digging into the death of Mike’s boss’s son. It’s at the family home that Cole meets the elusive, beautiful, and troubled cousin of the victim. The last thing Mike wants is to be attracted to anyone, still in mourning after his long time lover was killed by his former partner on the force. But there is something about Jae that pulls Cole closer and makes the PI want to get to know the closed off Asian a little more intimately.

Kim Jae-Min hides his sexuality, sort of. It’s no secret to his late cousin’s family, who actually blame him for “turning” their son gay. And that couldn’t be further from the truth. Jae is attracted to the large and in charge PI as well, and it confuses him. Cole really aggravates him and pisses him off, pushing his buttons, but he turns him on like no one else ever has as well. Jae is a conundrum, fighting Cole one minute, and then rocking his world the next, sometimes the two happen simultaneously, which is both confusing and entertaining.

As Cole grows closer to uncovering the truth about Yung’s death, he and Jae grow closer as well. But the person responsible for Yung’s death wants to keep their identity a secret. Even if that means one-half breed, PI and a gay go-go dancer have to be the next casualties in this twisted game of murder and secrecy. Cole struggles to balance his attraction to Jae with his almost utter certainty that he is violating some type of promise to his dead lover to be miserable and alone for all eternity. Jae has his struggles as well. As much as he wants to be with Cole, it confuses him, the wanting the man so much. And he will not tell his family the truth, that he prefers men to woman, and risk being cut off from them. Can the two of them find a happy medium where they can stay true to themselves and manage to be with each other? And if they can, will they be alive to do so?

Ford delves deep into the trenches of Asian society and beliefs with this series, where as in the Sinner’s series, she explored the Irish. But this series is no less intense, Ford has definitely found her niche’ with murder, mayhem and snarky, sexy, half-naked men that can’t seem to keep their hands off of each other. Narrated by Greg Trembley, this is my first audio from Trembley but I’m quite taken with his skills. Trembley conveys the accents with precision and grace and manages to differentiate between characters with the slightest change of nuance and tone. The action is pulse pounding and almost nonstop. Every time you think that Cole is close to figuring things out there is another curve ball. I loved the phrases and the wording that Ford used while telling this story, describing these characters and Trembley really brought it all to life with his narration.

If you like a story with a mesh up of mystery and suspense with a couple of hard-headed fresh new lovers and a pretty accurate detailing of the Asian culture in the aspect of this story… this is the perfect book for you!

Blurb: On a scale of one to ten, DJ Joe Salinas considers himself a four, five on a good day. Actor/part-time stripper Fess Kedley is definitely a nine, however, though Joe’s sure that slides into a ten as soon as the clothes come off. So when the outgoing Fess recognizes a shy Joe at a bachelorette party from his midnight radio show and proceeds to ask him out, Joe turns him down, convinced he’s either crazy or stupid.

The only problem is, Fess takes rejection as reason to keep on trying.

The two become unexpected friends, so when the thought of trying a date comes up again, Joe decides to take a chance. Though he doesn’t understand what someone like Fess would see in someone like him, it’s hard to say “no” when everything else feels so right.

Review: What the heart Thinks is a very sweet story of a man who hides behind his voice as a radio DJ and meets a male stripper that has a crush on him.

Joe has a very low self-esteem and once he saw Fess at a bachelorette party his best friend was throwing, he knew he didn’t stand a chance. Fess was beyond hot and sexy. Luckily, he is as persistent as he is hot.

I loved the fact that Joe isn’t your typical hot and sexy person. I like that he is more average and Vivien did a fabulous job of showing us not only Joe’s feelings but that not all beautiful people are shallow either. I loved the deep-rooted emotions and the ending was amazing!

If you like, DJ’s with a sexy voice and snarky attitude, actors, male strippers, friends to lovers, and sweet romances with a happy ending I highly recommend this one!

Review: Dwyer and John were best friends turned lovers that broke up after spending a year together as a couple in high school. Not only was the relationship a wash, but their friendship was destroyed as well. They went to separate colleges and haven’t spoken since. Now Dwyer has moved back home after losing his job in Chicago and the last thing he wants, is to run into John.

Dwyer ends up taking a job with an older established gay couple, that happens to be friends of both Dwyer and John. There are actually several different gay couples throughout the book, and each couple knows each other, as they are all part of an extended group of friends. As everyone, they know works to get Dwyer and John back together. Will the person whose opinion matter most feel the same way? Dwyer.

As I said, there were several different couplings in this book and when it was all said and done, they were all in the same circle of friends and acquaintances. But each couple got to share their own unique love story along the way. Mark and Eric, who met on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico after Mark was attacked, violated and left HIV positive. Eric’s mother is into AIDS/HIV research so Erick is fully aware of the issues and problems he’d face to be in a relationship with Mark, but it doesn’t stop him.

David and Lance who have an intense attraction but are overwhelmed with inexperience, they get to grow together as a couple and grow into a very strong one. There are a few more couplings, but these two were my favorites, their stories were so intense and realistic that I related to them. I wanted more passion for these characters, but when it came to the sexual aspect of the entire book it seemed like the author was jump roping between YA and Adult and the two lines don’t blur well. At least they didn’t in this instance, and that ruined the story for me.

Overall, the misspellings, typos, and lack of adult passion in a book that was obviously meant to be an adult read left this book lacking, in my opinion. I would love to see what the author could do if he/she went back and either stuck strictly YA or strictly Adult with this story and tried again. Sorry, I didn’t care much for this one, but on the up side, I LOVED this cover.

Portia’s Two Cents: I have to agree, this cover rocks, but I was very disappointed with the story that followed. The writing is not bad at all. And the characters are interesting and believable. This had the makings of a great series. Yes, I mean series…not story. There was just too much going on. Too many characters, too many flashbacks, too many romances. I forgot who the main characters were after a while. In all, I think I counted, at least, 4 stories that could have stood alone, and would have been much more satisfying.

Review: First off, I want to say I have not read the first book (but plan too now) I followed this one quite well though. There were enough slow drops of information that I was able to enjoy the book.

Secondly, these characters are all older (late thirties just turned 40) and if it hadn’t stated it was Brian’s 40th birthday and Jasper was 14 months behind, I would have thought they were teens by the pranks.

Now, having said that, I absolutely loved this book. Even though I found the pranking excessive and juvenile, I think it really showed the men’s personality, affection for each other and how they really fit together. It also was a fun light-hearted story.

Jasper is a genius and works for an aeronautical testing lab. Brian is an ex-POW and has been training at Landsky for test piloting but his PTSD is holding him back. Both men like to play pranks and their co-workers get involved, so when Brian began getting dead-flowers with ominous notes, he put it off the pranks from Jasper.

This story has a bit of everything, fun pranks, snarky jasper, a broken Brian a cute, funny cat, and mystery. The sex scenes while hot are very tastefully done and for the most part off page.

If you like, a fun, fast-paced story with romance and mystery, like pranks, broken men, ex-military men, smart men, good friends, adorable cats, and committed couples this is for you. I can’t wait for the next one.

British actor Wesley Tremayne thinks he’s close to hitting the big time—a film career—with his role as a hunky explorer on a popular American TV show. Success should be just around the corner, as long as he keeps his sexual orientation a secret. Wes’s best friend and beard, Julia Compton, forms the other half of a glamorous Hollywood couple that’s merely a façade.

Evan Taylor left his acting career behind five years ago without looking back. He’s always been more comfortable around horses than people—especially Hollywood types. His new life training racehorses is a dream come true, but increasing financial problems and an abusive boyfriend have him doubting himself and his choices.

Then Wes and his friends buy a third-rate racehorse—partially for publicity—and send him to Evan’s stable. Wes’s friendship with Evan soon develops into an overpowering attraction he can’t act on. He’s never met a man like Evan, but if there’s any chance for a future together, Wes must choose between a career he loves and the man he adores.

Paul Musegetes is the world’s most popular romance cover model, and the most secretive.  Dane soon finds himself obsessed with this supernaturally handsome man, and when he meets Paul at the Romance Writers’ Ball on the Summer Solstice, he and Paul connect for one night of passion…

After that night, Dane’s a writing machine.  He can’t stop writing romances, and every story he touches turns to gold.  But he also finds that he can’t write anything but romances. And soon he’s spending every waking moment of every day writing another after another…

Then Dane finds out that this Midas touch has a heavy price.  After the next Summer Solstice, he’ll never write again.  Not a romance, not a serious novel.  Nothing.  Not even a grocery list.  And that leaves him with only one option – find Paul, and get him to break the curse.  But before he can do that, he’ll have to track down Paul’s equally mysterious photographer, Jackson da Vinci…
