The Eye and the Arm

(Champion of the Gods 02)
by

Andrew Q. Gordan

After defeating Meglar at Belsport, Farrell returns to Haven to recover from his injuries, but Khron, the god of war, has other ideas. He gives Farrell a new mission: free the survivors of the ancient dwarf realm of Trellham from their three-thousand-year banishment. To fulfill Khron’s near impossible task, Farrell will need the help of his distance ancestor, the legendary wizard Kel. But Kel has been dead for a thousand years.

Farrell finds information hinting that Kel is alive, so he moves his search to Dumbarten, Kel’s birthplace. To reach Dumbarten unannounced, Farrell and Miceral disguise themselves as mercenaries on board a merchant vessel. Their journey is disrupted when pirates attack their ship. While attempting to subdue the attack, Farrell is struck down by one of Meglar’s minions.

Unconscious and trapped in his own mind, Farrell’s only chance for survival rests with Miceral and the peregrine king Rothdin entering his thoughts and helping him sort fact from illusion. To reach Farrell, they will need to rely on an untested spell from one of Kel’s spellbooks. If they succeed, Miceral can guide Farrell home safely. If not, Farrell will destroy not only himself, but Miceral, Rothdin, and everyone around him.

Blurb: Can a pirate and a doctor find love on the seas?
Stephen is a doctor, a practical man who wishes his sister wouldn’t worry so about the pirates that plague their island home. So it’s ironic that Stephen himself is set upon by just those pirates, who carry him off to heal their wounded captain.

John is a pirate captain, master of his fate and used to getting what he wants. And he decides he wants Stephen, even when the good doctor wants nothing more than to run away from him.
Can the beast convince the doctor who the sailors call the butcher to stay with him?

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of BDSM, non-consensual sex and dubious consent during captivity.

Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published elsewhere. It has been revised and re-edited for release with Totally Bound.

Review: I really had to laugh as I started reading this. Back in the day when I first starting reading romance novels, they were the good old-fashioned bodice rippers that I sneaked from my mother. And damned if this isn’t one except with two men.

Stephen is a very proper gentleman doctor who is abducted by a pirate crew to tend to their captain. Of course it isn’t just his wounds the captain wants attained to. So comes the forced seduction of the good doctor by the beastly pirate captain.

There is tons of sex. Pretty much all over the book. All and all it’s good hot sex. Very raunchy. There are light elements of BDSM with some pain play and a few other things. Definitely non-consensual and dubious consent through a good part of it.

The story is absolutely ridiculous and hilarious. But I feel no guilt in saying I highly enjoyed it. I found myself liking both characters with no real clue why. There is no real history on either of them. John is not a nice man and is very upfront about it. Stephen is almost a complete innocent. But it works in true bodice ripper fashion.

If you are looking for some deep meaning in your story this is not it. On the other hand if you are looking for something that will give you a good laugh and high sex content this should definitely do it.

Review: This is one very sweet book with a couple of very sweet characters, which is a bit of a departure from my current reading where there is usually one take charge alpha and one is just a sweet guy. If you’ve read Ian’s back story in Before the Final Encore things have fallen into place. If you haven’t read Ian’s back story, go back and read. It isn’t much but it does help place things better in your mind and you will probably appreciate it more than reading it first.

Anyway, back to Final Encore.

Billy is everything you could want – a country singer who also works as a foreman. Going to an open mic night then rapidly changes his life, introducing Ian into his life, once he had been down on his luck but now is a successful country music talent scout.

Ian and Billy are wonderful characters, great even. To me they were relatable and so it was easy to feel everything, and sympathise with both of them though at one point it was clear Ian was making a big mistake! I also love minor characters Jules and Jean who play a big part in men’s lives, Ian’s more so.

Though honestly, I would have loved to find out more about their son. Another, thing I would like to point out is that the final piece drama just happened – I thought there could have been more lead-up to that.

This is more a bit of fun – injected with some sexiness and some drama – don’t take it too seriously. I cannot wait for the next book (After the Final Encore)!

Blurb: Tatsu Lung, powerful dragon warrior for his nest, has to get over the fact that the man he secretly loved was in love with another. Not easy to do when he’s stuck in bed for weeks with an injury, but the cute human healer is interested in taking away his ache in more ways than one.

Nathan Price thought he was a human, until one amazing night spent with Tatsu revealed the truth. He’s part shifter, maybe even part dragon, and now he’s got a dragon child growing inside of him. He has to tell Tatsu, and he isn’t looking forward to letting the man who does not love or care for him, know that he’s about to become a father.

Nathan isn’t prepared at all when Tatsu insists on moving Nathan in with him, and since Nathan is a human, or at least part human, in a nest of dragons, he has no right to say no.

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/let-me-heal-you

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
Tatsu has finally met his match in human Nathan. Nathan is the only healer willing to work with Tatsu after he has taken a bullet meant for Kraigan. These two clash all the time in the healing clinic. Tatsu won’t stop moving around and keeps opening his wound forcing Nathan to keep fixing him up. Finally the passion explodes in another direction and they have a one night stand.

Three months later and Tatsu and Nathan are about to be tied together by a child. Tatsu uses the excuse, that for the safety of both the child and Nathan, they should move in with Tatsu. This causing its own issues. These two have so many misunderstandings and problems it’s not funny.

They both have issues that need to be worked through. Tatsu needs to get his act together and finally face the facts about his true feelings for both Kraigan and Nathan. Nathan has insecurities in his standing with Tatsu and needs to learn to trust him.
One thing they don’t need to work on his the sex. That is just fine between them. Although really there are not many scenes in the book between them. The ones that are a well written and sufficiently hot and sexy.

I actually enjoyed the calmer pace of this book. There is no real action, just the two men trying to work through and understand their relationship with each other. There is hint that the villagers may come back into play in future books and cause more issues. But mostly the book focused on Nathan and Tatsu, as they discover their feelings for each other.

Blurb: Six years after meeting British soldier Aiden Foster during the Christmas Truce of 1914, Jochen Weber still finds himself thinking about Aiden, their shared conversation about literature, and Aiden’s beautiful singing voice. A visit to London gives Jochen the opportunity to search for Aiden, but he’s shocked at what he finds.

The uniform button Jochen gave him is the only thing Aiden has left of the past he’s lost. The war and its aftermath ripped everything away from him, including his family and his music. When Jochen reappears in his life, Aiden enjoys their growing friendship but knows he has nothing to offer. Not anymore.

Review: Christmas 1914, two soldiers that would be trying to kill each other any other day, meet and strike up an odd friendship. When they go their separate ways they give each other a token of remembrance, a button off their uniforms. Six years later, Jochen will use that button to track down the man who hasn’t left his mind for a single day in six years.

Aiden has lost everything, his family, his beautiful voice, even the man he and befriended during the war. Only a button to remind him of that Christmas all those years ago when the fighting stopped for just a few precious moments, and a bond was formed. When Aiden’s past comes calling, will he accept the gift? Or turn his old friend away.

What a great little story this was, proving the motto I live in my own life by daily, Love is Love. Jochen and Aiden are the most unlikely allies and friends, but one day so many years ago changed the course of their lives irrevocably. The language of the era and the cultures was accurately represented, as well as the back drop of the time and the part of the world the characters were in. Even when Jochen went looking for Aiden, in London Jochen was recognized as the enemy and Aiden’s whereabouts protected. If it weren’t for that button.

A must read for fans of historicals, even MM romance. You’ll love this little short story. A little slow in some places, but overall such a fun read that is ripe with the history it contains.

Blurb: This collection features three tales of fantastical lives and impossible love. Suspend your belief, and dive into a trio of stories filled with incredible circumstances, and magical influences.

In Mr. Fix-It, a frustrated consumer finds himself the owner of a futuristic android who comes equipped a secret BDSM function.

A young man whose life is continually complicated by the presence of the ghosts of three stubborn-if-well-meaning music legends, finds old time rock and roll to be just the thing he needs to find love.

Finally, a sheriff in a town on the outskirts of Hell finds love despite his constant battle with evil’s minions.

Review: I have to say with the title of the collection of stories and the blurb I was expecting some high fantasy stories. Unfortunately while the story were works of fantasy, they were not what I expected when word like magical were tossed about in the blurb. Two of the stories were rather mundane and the other I would have classified Science Fiction.

Mr. Fix It (♥♥ 2 Hearts) was robotic Sci-Fi taken to the extreme. The consumer, Max (who owns a Nanotech consulting firm (To the Max), receives an android when he ordered a robot vacuum cleaner. The Android is programmed to dominate Max. The Android ends up fixing Max’s penis and Max’s company goes in a new direction. The costumer service scenes are a hoot and remind me of modern-day automated costumer service.

Rock N Roll 4 Ever (♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts) deals with a young man, Jonas, who owns a car that is haunted by Rock and Roll Legends the ones who are there most often are Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, and Janice Joplin. He is having money problem and is close to selling the car, A 1959 Cadillac convertible.

The ghosts take matters into their hands and lead Jonas to the beach, where Kai, a surfboard painter and surfer, is surfing and they get together and hit off romantically and musically. There sound together is great and soon they are successful. The scene where Kai finally sees/meets the ghosts is great.

Hell town (♥♥♥ 3 Hearts) Hoke is a protector of a town in purgatory based on the old west. He is responsible for making sure that the souls living there are not compelled to go to either hell or heaven against their will. One of the things he has to do is keep the hell born beasts from attacking and killing the souls in his town.

When the story opens, he smells the presence of Shiloh, his lover when he was alive on earth and the man he believes killed him.

Was too short to be amazing, but still an enjoyable read.

Review: While this book can be read as a standalone, you would have a better understanding of Crash and his circumstance if you read ‘This is Not a Love Story’ first.

Crash is sixteen, deaf and alone in such a great big world. When a blue haired boy steals his bag with everything he owns in it, Crash follows and winds up saving the guys life. Over the next twenty-four hours, they talk and get to know each other, on an intimate level, while trying to get Crash’s stuff back. When they get in over their heads, Crash is scared and confused and does nothing to help Summer, and then he pushes Crash away.

Four years later, fate brings them back into each other’s lives, but Crash is too scared to pursue the guy he’s loved since that fateful day four years ago. With a gentle shove from his foster mom and his friends, Julian and Romeo, he takes a leap of faith and goes to find his Wild Summer.

This was just a fast, not always fun, but definitely passionate read. Christopher, named Crash by Summer when he saved him and they crashed to the ground, goes from a scared and confused teenager to a strong and loving young man in the time he and Summer are apart. While Summer has possibly suffered at the hands of his abusive lover most of that time, he still has this wild spirit to him that Crash fell in love with all those years ago.

The overall flow was steady and engaging as the story went back and forth between past and present from Crash’s POV. I was never confused though, and while there is darkness in this story, the passion and cohesion of the story definitely outshone that darkness.

If you are looking for a short read that will keep you glued to the pages, needing to know where the characters will wind up in the end, and then grab a copy of this amazing story today!

Again, it’s a standalone, but I’m happy I read ‘This is Not a Love Story’ first because that novella introduced Crash and gave you a lot of his back story.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
This was a good start to the series. It was informative without being overly dragged down with information. I knew the basic setup of the world the author has created and the powers within a short amount of time.

So Miles is your normal everyday college student walking late at night. Right from the start I knew I liked him. He was funny even in his inner thoughts. He got better as he dealt with the paranormal world being thrown at him.

Ben is a leader of a group of warriors that fight against the evil paranormals. He is there hunting down one such evil dude, Malcolm, when he learns that Miles is his mate. Miles is also Malcolm’s mate.

I have to say I do have a soft spot for instant love and mating deals. And this is no different. It doesn’t hurt that the writing was good and fast paced. Plus the sex was reasonably hot.
I didn’t like the forced sex that happened, but luckily the author was able to save it in the end.

I enjoyed this book. The main characters were easily likable as well as many of the secondary characters. The theme, while maybe not completely different, it was very interesting and entertaining.

I look forward to reading more about the fight of good over evil and the world created.

1909

In the innocent pre-war days, an invitation to stay at the stately country home of a family friend means a new case for amateur sleuths Jonty Stewart and Orlando Coppersmith. In fact, with two apparently unrelated suicides to investigate there, a double chase is on.

But things never run smoothly for the Cambridge fellows. In an era when their love dare not speak its name, the risk of discovery and disgrace is ever present. How, for example, does one explain oneself when discovered by a servant during a midnight run along the corridor?

Things get even rougher for Orlando when the case brings back memories of his father’s suicide and the search for the identity of his grandfather. Worse, when they work out who the murderer is, they are confronted with one of the most difficult moral decisions they’ve ever had to make.

The ghost at the heart of the problem…

Clayton Merk, accomplished, yet arrogant, businessman, has a reputation for one-night stands and being steadfastly anti-relationship. When he decides to return home—to the root of all his problems—he brings a co-worker with him as a buffer against the past. Even though he’s ready to lay old ghosts to rest, he certainly didn’t expect a literal ghost to lend a hand.

Brad Jorgensen, Clay’s former best friend, has also clung to the past in an unhealthy way. He resents Clay for a lot of things, not the least of which is his cousin’s death decades earlier. At one time they’d been closer than brothers, but blame and anger are powerful weapons of destruction, and they’ve left Brad in a wasteland of self-doubt, hatred, and loneliness.

The ghost at the heart of the problem has had enough. Bobby isn’t pleased with his cousin or his ex. Their refusal to let go of the past has kept him on a plane where he doesn’t belong and isn’t at home. He’s expended all his energy trying to get through to Brad, without success, but Clay’s return finally gives him a foot in the door…or out the door.

If he could just get the two stubborn men together.

The strength to walk away from an abusive long-term relationship proves Em is a survivor. But surviving isn’t necessarily living, and Em has created a life on a plateau of his own making, not even entertaining the idea of a new boyfriend. When he shows interest in a very sexy barista, his best friend sees a chance to open Em’s eyes to the possibilities in life.

Penn couldn’t help his double and triple take when the sexy man walked into his mother’s coffee shop. Priding himself on always remaining calm and collected in all situations, Penn is surprised by the strength of his attraction for this stranger. When the stranger’s loud-mouthed friend proposes a way for Penn to see Em again, he takes it.

While Em comes with baggage—his eyes tell a story of pain and distrust—Penn isn’t one to shy away from a challenge, especially when his heart is so quickly getting tied up in the equation, and he’s prepared to break through Em’s walls and give him a chance to trust.

Years later, Izar is summoned to work alongside Uriel to capture a killer. Izar is shocked when his bloodlust spikes hot for the archangel. But a relationship between Protectors and angels is forbidden. As they rush to find the killer, their passion plays into the demon’s plan.
