Review: This is book eight in this series and I was right about it. I had such a blast reading this and loving the guys in this book. Dillon has always loved children and wanted to help them, it wasn’t till he met Soldier that they could make sanctuary real. They have the hearts of angels and love to help young boys who need help. They have taken in and watch their boys grow. The first time I read this was with book seven and saw how they were with the twins and Chip. They show their love to all of the kids and I loved it.

Soldier had been injured while at war. He had save some of his men, watch three of them die and thought the other two he couldn’t get to also died. He was right about Bailey but he had not known that Double D had survived, until he got the call. He went as soon as he could to help, but had not expected that Double D to be the evil man that he turned out to be. He knew that if he didn’t get away, that Dillon would go insane.

Dillon knew the moment he couldn’t get Soldier on the phone that something was definitely wrong. So he sends his grown sons to save their father. Now to bring the man he loves home to his family.

I had a blast reading this and I sure hope that there is another one coming out soon. I would recommend reading this and can guarantee that you will love it. This author is fairly new to me, but I can tell you that I will be checking out the rest of this amazing author’s books.

There is always just a hint of humor in them that makes it perfect. It captivated me from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me exactly what I wanted in a story.

Blurb: Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle of nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can’t say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.

Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there’s nothing pretend about their relationship.

Review: Jeremy is a world famous singer who has lived a surprisingly sheltered life in the shadow of his famous parents, but when he feels pressured by the demands of fame he has no one to turn to. Seeking escape before yet another tour he wanders into a small town bar and meets a man who couldn’t care less about who he is and treats Jeremy like any other bar goer, an attitude that has Jeremy making a surprising offer.

Reg is perfectly happy slinging drinks in a bar, saving money so he can go on adventures but his biggest adventure yet has just walked into the bar he works at and made him an offer he’d be stupid to refuse: keep The Jeremy Jameson company and pretend to be his boyfriend! Reg can’t pass up the opportunity to travel the world in good company, and it isn’t long before Reg and Jeremy are inseparable… and Reg discovers that Jeremy isn’t as straight as Jeremy thinks he is.

This is a brilliant story where sometimes you just don’t know yourself as well as you think you do. Jeremy is a fantastic character who doesn’t have any friends, he has people who tell him what to do and where to go but he doesn’t have anyone who he can confide in or just hang out with, but all that changes when he meets Reg. Reg treats Jeremy like he’s a regular man, he doesn’t get stars in his eyes or expect Jeremy to do anything for him and for Jeremy that is a refreshing change, Jeremy grabs at the prospect of having a real friend and it’s the beginning of something incredible.

Now Reg is a character who you will adore, he’s fun loving, down to Earth and always game for anything, but he also has a protective side that emerges as he shows Jeremy that there is more to life than fame. Watching them together is a treat, Jeremy is clueless to how some of his confessions sound to Reg, but those words encourage Reg to push the boundaries with Jeremy from just friendship to something more intimate. Their friendship is unique and Jeremy blooms as his friendship with Reg grows.

I don’t know if I’d say this story was a ‘gay for you’ or if I’d say that it’s a ‘man who thinks he’s straight discovers he’s really gay’ but what I can tell you is that Jeremy is just clueless until he meets Reg and Reg becomes his foundation. This really is a brilliant written story, it just flows along like it’s perfectly normal for a straight man to ask a stranger to pretend to be his boyfriend and come on tour with him, it really doesn’t come across as absurd it comes across as perfect normal and we get a fantastic relationship brewing out of it. I just adore this story; it’s a feel good, slightly sexy story to enjoy on the beach, in the airport, on the sofa or just relaxing in the garden.

I recommend this to those who love confused superstars, in the know bartenders, an incredible love blossoming, diva tantrums and fun times and two incredible men finding the love they both deserve.

Review: The blurb of this book intrigued me when I read it. Kevin comes across as someone who allows people to use him in certain circumstances which I didn’t understand. Dominic struck me as a strong individual who would do anything for Kevin.

The reader is able to see as Kevin matures the further you read. These two seemed perfect for one another as the story progressed. I really enjoyed both characters but would have preferred Kevin to be stronger than he was at times.

You don’t really learn a lot about Dominic and why he is the way he is at first. It was an interesting read to say the least. Keeps your attention from start to finish.

Good read.

Review: I have to admit this was a strange book in the beginning as Calvin loses his case and witnesses Thom’s execution. Then feeling guilt, remorse and depressed throws himself out his window. The fall does not kill him which was weird.

Thom is then sent back to help Calvin but isn’t told why he is being sent back. It was just confusing for me as I didn’t understand how someone who was executed could be sent back. Not to mention the conversation he had about was not shown. So I have no idea what exactly was told to him to begin with.

Aside from that I enjoyed the story very much. Poor Calvin didn’t know what to make of Thom and one point thought he was losing his mind, which I understood.

Interesting and intriguing read.

Before the contest is over, however, one of the judges will be dead and cold.

Review: Zachary Gagewood is a photographer and also works at a bookstore in the small town he lives in. Applefest is the biggest event in Gresham. It seems to grow even bigger every year. This year is no exception. It seemed to me that the citizens entering the contest changed completely during the event. They were a lot quicker to temper and throw fits at times. I couldn’t believe people acted that way over an apple pie contest. I mean it’s just a pie.

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of Zachary and Kevin’s relationship. They seemed more like best friends to me than anything else. They also are both gay and live together so some of the citizens assume they are a couple. There are quite a few characters in this book so at times it was confusing keeping them straight.

I didn’t care for Mary Damron’s character at all. She seemed homophobic, self-centered and mean. She rubbed me the way from the moment she was introduced. While I understood her opinion I felt she was wrong in the way she said what she wanted to say.

An interesting story that I felt had too much details at time because I kept losing focus in reading it. However it was very well written with just the right amount of interactions between characters and mystery added an extra layer of appeal.

All in all it was a good read.

Review: Sterling Rossi is the first man to travel back in time. What is supposed to be an easy jaunt turns into something much more when he meets Jex in the past. Each time Sterling travels back the two grow closer only to be ripped apart when Sterling is brought back to his time. I loved these two together. So much passion and honesty between them.

I did not care for Noc at all. He seemed menacing and very untrustworthy in everything he did. Faer was determined and serious just what a guardian of time needs to be. The entire story was fascinating if not a bit slow for the first half. Awesome battle scenes with deadly creatures added a sense of danger and mystery to the story as well as the evil plot that Noc was planning.

One of the things I didn’t like was that what Faer and Noc were wasn’t explained completely. Both of those details seemed rushed to me. There was more about Sterling and his day-to-day activities than anything else until a little over half the book. It explained more about Faer than Noc so I was confused to exactly what they were. I knew they were aliens and that Noc used to be on Faer’s team until he got power-hungry, but that’s about it.

Good and interesting read.

Review: Even though Tony and Gabe still have issues with each other, Tony is determined to fulfill his dream. Things heat up between these two after the movie wraps up. I felt sorry for Gabe and completely understood his worries. But, he’s an adult and shouldn’t worry about what others think.

Loved both characters. They each had their own issues they were struggling with throughout. I think if they had just talked to each other from the start maybe things would have went smoother for them.

Good read.

Review: This is part of the 2015 Daily Dose Delivery Package-

There’s something to be said for maturity and experience, whether it’s a second chance at love, a May/December romance, or finding a soul mate later in life. These stories prove that it’s never too late for new love.

Never Too Late. At first I was a bit leery of the story itself. I am not one for short stories. You never really get enough to sink your teeth into. It is told in a fantasy way, of a magic carpet ride and a Phoenix.

Juberi had been a soldier and now was an ambassador. He comes off bitter to me. In their world it is wrong to lie with another man. He closes that off until he met Desen. Desen was the son of a friend and he has come to mean a lot to him. He has spent many years trying to bring back the Phoenix, but is he willing to lose someone important to him.

I do hope that this will be expanded into a longer story with more to it later on. It was a great start but only gave me a taste, did not really fulfill my wants. It is a cute and very sexy little story though.

Portia’s Two Cents: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts

I really enjoyed this story.  In my opinion, Kim Fielding is one of the most adventurous authors in the genre.  Suspense, Contemporary or Fantasy, Kim has a smooth writing style that just does it for me.

Juberi is content to settle into retirement. But, the sense that he was bored off his ass and resigned to his life, oozed off the pages.

Luckily, sexy Desen pops up, just before Jeberi dies of sheer boredom. His attention is enough to wake up both Juberi, the man and Juberi, the scientist.

I loved the chemistry between these two.  Also, the world building was very nice. And honestly, if you are only going to invest in a couple of the Daily Doses…PLEASE make this brilliant little story one of them.

Highly recommend.

But from the moment he first lays eyes on the handsome Marine, he’s tempted to do just that rather than hide his growing attraction to the man. Being a translator allows him access to the base and he finds Sean alone one night. They take things farther than he ever intended. If only he could tell Sean everything, but his lips are sealed.

Review: This story has previously released as part of the Semper Fidelis Anthology by Totally Bound Publishing. I love a man in uniform and this one was pretty good. Although for me it was way too short to truly enjoy.

Sean Kelley is one sexy marine. He has always loved it, but working overseas sometimes sucks. Especially when he falls for a local. It would destroy everything if it gets out, but their one time together has left him wanting forever. Akim is Jordan’s undercover name. He wants to protect his marines, catch the one killing and get promoted. What he does not count in is one sexy marine and a hot night together. Then Sean gets injured and Jordan will do everything to be with his man.

I really got a kick out of reading this. It gives you sexy marines, men in uniforms, danger, excitement and suspense.

I would definitely recommend reading this.

Review: This is book 8 in the Archangel Chronicles. It is a continuation from the previous book.

As the book starts Danny is still in a coma. The group is still on the hunt for TCC Corp group, who wants to close earth of to paranormal and supernatural beings, no matter who they are. I seriously don’t like the TCC at all. They seem bigoted, hateful, and full of themselves and give humans a bad reputation as not all humans feel the way they do.

The archangels with their allies the archdemons come together to fight off yet another threat. It was a truly horrifying new threat as witches have somehow altered their magic to be stronger yet slightly different. These are people who have been cast out from their covens and are now in cahoots with the evil TCC.

For the most part this book is about regrouping, healing, investigating more into TCC and strategizing the best way to deal with them before they can hurt anyone else or succeed with their plans to cast out all but humans from earth.

I really liked that Samael, Archangel of death and Ahijah, Nehalem, seemed to grow a closer bond. It was sad to think they would never be with anyone because of who they are. The other person I was shocked by was Danny. After coming out of his coma, he leaves everyone behind to go back home. While I understood the reasoning it was still a shock.

Though this book is not action packed it is full of awesome theories and the answers to some of them which amazed me. Also the depths with which the TCC group was willing to go just appalled me to the core. I really hope the archdemons, archangels and all their allies take these evil creatures out once and for all. I did not like the way the book ended abruptly without warning.

So this book will be continued in the next one in the series. All in all it was a great read that kept the reader engaged and entertained.

Blurb: Henry Dalton is sent across the country by train to the western town of Woolridge in order to investigate the werewolf problem they’re having during the monthly moon cycle. The townsfolk are not forthcoming with information, making it difficult for Henry to solve the case.

Even more distracting is Jack, a handsome older lycanthrope. Known for his rebellious youth, Jack has settled down into life and routine in Woolridge, working as the local blacksmith. He assures Henry he’s no longer trying to stir up trouble, that those days are long gone. Henry must attempt to ignore the spark between them, the indication of their potential to become mates, which is rare because Henry is human.

Henry remains professional and focuses on his job, but each meeting with Jack adds to the draw, and Henry isn’t sure how much longer he’ll be able to resist.

This was an intriguing story and even though it is a paranormal, it is told in the western way.

Henry was sent by the government to find a rogue. What he found was his mate. A werewolf that had once been a leader but now followed the rules to a point. Jack has found his mate once more, but more goes on then everyone knows.

I do hope that this will be expanded into a longer story with more to it later on. It was a great start but only gave me a taste, did not really fulfill my wants. It is a cute and very sexy little story though. It was not my type of story though. I am more for the present tense and even future ones, but not much for the past stories.

(The Warlock Brothers of Havenbridge 01)
by

Jacob Z. Flores

Mason Blackmoor just can’t compete with his brothers, much less his father. They represent the epitome of black magic, strong, dark, and wicked, and though Mason tries to live up to his respected lineage, most of the spells he casts go awry. To make matters worse, his active power has yet to kick in. While his brothers wield lightning and harness the cold, Mason sits on the sidelines, waiting for the moment when he can finally enter the magical game.

When a dead body is discovered on the football field of his high school, Mason meets Drake Carpenter, the new kid in town. Drake’s confident demeanor and quick wit rub Mason the wrong way. Drake is far too self-assured for someone without an ounce of magical blood in his body, and Mason aims to teach him a lesson—like turn him into a roach. And if he’s lucky, maybe this time Mason won’t be the one turned into an insect.

Not surprisingly, the dislike is mutual and Drake does nothing to dispel Mason’s suspicion that the sexy boy with a southern drawl is somehow connected to the murder.

If only Mason didn’t find himself inexplicably spellbound whenever they are together, they might actually find out what danger hides in the shadows.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

The book opens up with Toby and Damon still happy and in love with each other. Toby has finally received the approval of his doctor to start sculpting again. Leaving Damon a little worried that Toby will overdo it.

Damon is still pushing Toby’s limits every chance he gets, and Toby is certainly enjoying it. One thing you can count on with Sean Michael, the sex will be damn hot. And this was no different. The sex was off the wall in the hot factor. And there was a hell of a lot of it.

I do like and enjoy both men. They are really adorable, and absolutely steaming sexy together. I enjoy the way Damon is bringing Toby out of his self-imposed shell. Toby still gets embarrassed by certain things, but his world is definitely opening up.

Toby is simply cute. There is no other way to descriptive him. He is innocent, shy, sweet, and yet there is sensuality to him. When he lets go and submits totally to Damon he is truly free.
Damon is everything loving a Dom should be. He takes care of Toby, not only sexually. But also mentally and physically. He tries not to allow Toby to push himself too much while he is still recovering. He also holds onto Toby when he spirals after another visit by the mysterious attacker.

The only issue I have is the fact that the issue of whoever is causing trouble for Toby and Damon is being dragged out. Once again the person strikes, and at the end there is no resolution or clue who is doing it. I find that a bit annoying.

Overall, this was a very sexy read, with some nice tender moments. I look forward to reading more about these two.

Review: Janos a soldier is on the run and stumbles through a gateway to a world he doesn’t know. I truly felt for Jonas as he tried to come to grips with the abrupt changes. Where he was from was considered a death sentence to show interest in another man so Jonas keeps his feelings hid.

I really liked the details about the time era in this book. They were well written and accurate. The thing I didn’t understand was why the book is labeled Science Fiction. The only things I found that applied to that label was the pod cars and the time travel that’s it. I was expecting to see descriptions of exotic far off worlds but that didn’t happen.

Dieter is a historian/linguist for the Temporal Research Institution from 2041. When Jonas and Dieter meet they get off to a somewhat rocky start as they have trust issues. That doesn’t stop Dieter from taking Jonas under his wing and the two slowly grow closer as the story progresses even as Dieter has his obstacles to overcome. I could totally understand the both of them being leery of one another considering the circumstances.

The time travel scenes were intriguing to read the differences between then and the future. To see how much things have changed throughout time. Really enjoyed this story but was disappointed by the lack of science fiction in it.

Well written and interesting.
