Blurb: In a world where shifters were rampant and humans were clueless as to their existence, the shifters of the land were ruled by the Masons – the royalty of the shifter world. For the most part the Masons were kept isolated from other shifters, preferring their work and commands to be carried out by a force known simply as the “Elite.”

No shifter wanted to come to the attention of the Elite. It usually resulted in death, or at the very least coercion into their illegally run underground cage fights, or sold into prostitution. Once marked by the Elite, very few escaped and even fewer talked about it. There were rumors, thousands of them, of a resistance movement that were fighting both for freedom from oppression and helping those who had come to the Elite’s attention. But nothing seemed to work against the ruling family’s armed forces.

In a harsh world the toughest fighters were sent to the Souterrain, home of the largest underground fighting club for shifters. Here, shifters of all kinds were injected prior to a fight to ensure they didn’t shift in front of the audiences of humans that thronged to one of the few places where you could see two men fight to the death.

It was bloody, barbaric and humans came in droves to wager money on their favorites and to scream for more blood.
And it was in this world, the world of the Souterrain, that Alpha wolf Carlin found Lucas. A hybrid shifter who had lived in a human world. But Carlin didn’t care about who Lucas was, or his weird genetics. Lucas was his true mate and someone worth fighting for.

But love and freedom both come at a price, and for Carlin, it could be his life.

Review: I came across Lisa Oliver’s books some time ago and have always been intrigued by the stories she writes. So as soon as this book came out I had to grab it. I was not disappointed at all. It gives you a world of humans and the paranormal which for me is a top read, and then the fact that their world is ruled by the masons makes it even better. The Elite grab shifters, who have done crimes, helped the resistance or just came across their radar.

They force them to either fight or they are put into the sex business. Most of the fights are to the death and almost all of them are done in their human form. It is a disgusting business that needs to be taken down.

Lucas was a hybrid wolf that lived most of his life in his human form. He had made the mistake of accidentally killing a human in a cage fight, which of course got him caught by the Elite. He was forced to fight and he was damn good at it. He has placed fifth and was working up to Alpha fighter.

The problem was he did not want to do it and when it came down to killing he would do it with a simple neck twist. He never made a show of it. Then he got sighted by an alpha who wanted to bed him. Now this was going to be interesting. There were many secrets hidden in Lucas, and even one that he had not known.

Carlin had seen Lucas during the fight and most definitely afterwards. He wanted this man in his bed. What he got instead was the scent of his mate. What made it more intriguing was the fact that his little mate was not a full wolf. His mate could change his animal shape which might just come in handy in the end. In their world, alpha fighters could when offered fight for their freedom.

Also matings could not be mixed with. That didn’t turn out to be the case for them, because the man behind it wanted Lucas for himself. They had to escape or Carlin would die in a fight soon.

With the help of Carlin’s trainer, they just might make it.
As usual Lisa gives you a world that you can get lost in and let me tell you fantasies are all out hot. I had a blast reading this and can see myself reading it more than once. I liked it so much that it has made my top ten reading favorites.

It can be read as a standalone, but I would rather read them in order. The characters are beautifully written with their emotions for all to see. They will do everything to keep their mates safe and will love their mates forever. This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break or when you just need the sun to shine for you. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story. I have noticed that when Lisa puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Blurb: Does everyone have a certain “type” they end up with…whether they want to or not?

If Ray Carlucci’s ex is anything to go by, Ray likes his men gorgeous, rebellious, and chock-full of issues. But now that Ray is single again, he has a shot at a fresh start—a very fresh start, since his tattoo shop was gutted by repo men and he can fit all his belongings in the trunk of a taxi.

Ray’s shiny new chauffeur’s license lands him a job as a driver for an elderly couple on Red Wing Island. It’s a cold fall, and since the Michigan island is the summer home to snowbirds who fly south for the winter, it’s practically deserted—save for Ray’s new household and a sculptor named Anton Kopec, who works day and night twisting brambles and twine into the distorted shapes of macabre creatures. Compelling, bizarre, and somewhat disturbing…not just the sculptures, but the artist, too. Ray has a feeling Anton is just his “type.”

Despite their scorching chemistry, when a dead body is unearthed by some workers and a freak ice storm traps them all on the island, Ray can’t say for certain that his new flame isn’t capable of murder.

NOTE: This novella previously appeared in the anthology Partners in Crime 4: The Art of Dying written with Josh Lanyon.

Review: Ray Carlucci has lost everything, except his will to live, barely. Broke, unemployed and homeless, he takes a job as a driver for a reclusive elderly couple on a lonely, frozen island in Michigan. Things are a little off from the start. Mister White suffers from Alzheimer’s and occasionally, his episodes turn violent. Missus White is entirely to chipper for her circumstances, and the cook is a very odd bird. Speaking of birds, Ray isn’t on the job an entire day before there is a dead bird left on his doorstep.

Then there is the enigmatic beauty Anton Kopec. The man is bi-polar, eccentric and passionate all at the same time. His mood swings almost give Ray whiplash, and his sexual prowess is absolutely amazing. Needless to say, the two become lovers very quickly. But when bodies start piling up and Anton is taken in for questioning, Ray has to ask himself if getting involved with the Artist is a wise decision. His track record for boyfriends is one shot shy of America’s most wanted as it is.

I had never read any of JCP’s work before until I got a request to review the audio for Scary Mary. Let me tell you, I became an instant fan! So when this title showed up in my recommendations I grabbed a copy before I even read the blurb. I am so intrigued by the raw sexuality the characters Price writes wear like a badge of honor. Usually damaged in some way or another, at first glance they are the dregs that no one could possibly want, much less love. But then they turn out to be these completely misunderstood human beings that just want to love, and be loved in return.

Ray lost everything, including the shirt off his back, when his ex snorted all their money up his nose. Slightly psychotic and definitely disturbing Artist, Anton, is secluded on the island by his sister who only wants to cash in on his fame, not actually have to deal with the person that holds all the creativity. The two come together and it’s like a bolt of lightning. It’s frenetic, crazed and passionate, and they don’t seem to be able to love each other any other way.

In just three short hours, Price delivered a shivering murder mystery that was suspenseful and engaging all while weaving this insane love story between two lonely souls. I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend it! If you like the author, you’ll surely enjoy this audio.

But if you are a fan of suspense thrillers, passionate love stories with zero romance, and sexy inked up alpha males, then you can’t pass this one up.

Blurb: Undercover agent Liam Connell stared at his captor. He looked like a pirate from a holovid— black trousers, a white, puffy-sleeved shirt, and a purple sash wrapped jauntily around his waist. Wavy black hair fell to his shoulders and … Connell couldn’t believe it. He actually had gold hoops hanging from his ears.

The pirate ran his forefinger lightly down Connell’s cheek and smiled. “Mmm! Mmmm! What do we have here?”

Review: This is the 6th book in Aurigan Space Saga and it was an incredible addition. This book draws the reader in and keeps them engaged all the way to the end. The never knowing which way the story will go leaves you in suspense at times.

The characters Liam and Connell have good chemistry together. I have enjoyed reading this series as the author takes you through space and different worlds in each one with intriguing scenery details as well as dangerous situations at times.

I have to admit I was a little unsure of the ending as it seemed abrupt but other than that it was a great read.

Review: You have two people who are opposites. One, Tony, is a gay porn star wanting something better for himself. The other is Gabe. A stuck up rich kid who is straight. They both are given roles in a movie together that require intimacy. I honestly didn’t think these two would be able to work together because of the animosity between them after they meet. But as the story progressed Gabe’s feelings start to change.

Tony’s character struck me as the type who liked to antagonize Gabe just to see how he would react. But they are both very passionate. I was glad that Tony got his chance to star in a movie rather than doing porn.

I liked the way that both characters are dealing with past issues throughout. This story will continue in the next book.

Good read.

Review: This is the third book in Galactic Conspiracies series. This book doesn’t disappoint in the action packed, mystery, and adventure and romance areas. I absolutely loved Peri’s character. He wants to be loved and love in return. He was smart, yet held his own when it was needed.

Beshel didn’t believe in bond mates. Beshel was a commanding presence who grew more in touch with his feelings as the progressed. When his attraction to Peri catches him off guard he dismisses it even though every chance he got he was with Peri. It took a major shock and a rescue mission for Beshel to accept the truth.

There are awesome battles that leave you breathless and on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what the outcome is. The thing that intrigued me the most was about the little ones conception. It shocked me that a group would do that to others, no matter the cost. The corrupt people involved were not surprising except one.

This is definitely a book I’d recommend. Fantastic story with an amazing plot and well written.

Absolutely loved it.

Blurb: Round two with Scott hadn’t been what Tad expected, but it did end up providing a few important realizations. For one, that crazy first encounter was definitely more than mere male hormones. Which meant he felt a true attraction to the guy. Something that explained his defenselessness against Scott’s smoldering charms. Seriously, the dude had cut through his fortifications like the things hadn’t even existed.

Which, yeah, was pretty unsettling.

So Tad had resolved to cope with his findings the only logical way he knew how: purge the guy from his system once and for all by staying away for good. Unfortunately, that proved way more uncomfortable than he’d anticipated. Seemed his “stupid infatuation” ran considerably deeper, which made going cold-turkey one miserable chore.

So when Scott unexpectedly seeks him out, Tad’s too drained to fight his turmoil any longer. Allowing himself a much needed fix, he agrees to hang out, neither he nor Scott knowing Dom boy Max will end up part of the deal. What starts out as an unassuming evening quickly turns shockingly licentious. Question is, will Tad be able to handle it? And more importantly, what path will it send him down in his ongoing journey of discovery?

Warning: this 30k+ story includes strong BDSM elements and explicit gay sex.
Intended for mature audiences only.

Review: I love this series so much and one good thing about waiting to read it you can just keep going and going. In this volume, Ms. Knight, just keeps upping her brilliance and creativity and gives us, the readers, exactly what we need.

Tad was emotionally exhausted after their last encounter because he feels so many things that he can’t put into words. Staying away seems like the answer but it was the hardest thing he has ever done. Wearing himself out with exhaustion doesn’t damper his feelings and thoughts at all. He realized that more than ever when Scott finally takes the leap and comes looking for him.

Scott was definitely more exposed with his feelings in this installment. He opens up more to Tad with how he feels and they come to a mutual understanding that neither will allow time to separate them. As they are getting ready to spend time together and have some fun, Max, Scott’s roommate asks for a favor. He has a sub coming over for a scene and wants Tad and Scott to watch from the hidden room. Tad is little nervous not knowing what to expect but accepts just the same.

Max is someone I’m not too sure about yet. He definitely has his own story to tell and I have a feeling it’s going to be just as addicting as Tad and Scott. As Max gets busy with Sean, his sub, he really puts his Dominant hat on and yowser…it is a very hot session with many kinky elements. I was feeling the heat and so was Tad and Scott as they watch behind the mirror.

Max’s scene really set the scene for allowing Scott share more of himself. He is attracted to Tad more than just the physical yet he understands that Tad is going to need time to come to terms with what he is feeling. Scott has many facets that make him who he is and we are just starting to see more and more of them. He is very confident and secure in who he is as a human being. As conflicts ensue between them and Max after his session Scott is not going to allow Max to bring him down or interfere with the progress he is making with Tad.

Kora Knight excels in her ability to write sex scenes that are a living and breathing entity. Because they continue to talk, touch, and feel during their encounters, their emotions and thoughts are exposed for us to see. I love Scott and how he never hesitates to show Tad what he is feeling and thinking.

Each installment gets better and better and there is no doubt that this series is one I could read over and over. I have enjoyed reading each one so much and can’t wait to start on the next. Prized Possession is up next and, wow, doesn’t that just get your heart beating faster with anticipation of what’s to come.

Review: Oh. My. God. I have totally fallen in love with this book. There’s lots of cooking and some real macho men going head to head.

This is a romance following two culinary school students: Ethan, who is kind of like the guy from the wrong side of the tracks complete with piercings and his only family he has is his sister, and Jamie, the rich kid trying to get away from his suffocating parents.

Both characters are wonderful – super relatable. It’s all fun, too, if you’re into cooking and find the culinary school setting interesting.
In fact, I have to say that I love surly Ethan, though probably because I identify with his grumpy character. But Ethan is a guy who has had some real downs in his life and since he supported himself and his sister for so many years, he is severely lacking in social graces.

Which brings me Ethan’s sister, Claire, she was a brilliant character, and was used as a bridging type of character.

With things moving along at a nice pace, it surprised how quick I was able to read this one. The writing style is great because thinking on it, this book could have so easily have been boring and slow – something that this is not. However, the entire plot hinges on the fact that these two guys suck at communication, even though I was cheering for this guys to get some sort of HEA.

Now, time for me to read book 2, cannot wait! ☺

Blurb: Alex hid his unnatural attraction to men for many years. That changes when the pirate Beche takes Alex after capturing his ship. At first Alex believes his fate is death and the only question a matter of how he might die. However, the longer he is on the ship, the more he realizes that Beche hates the world because it is unfair in ways Alex never understood. As Alex begins to respect this strong, independent man, Alex’s dormant desires begin to reassert themselves.

Beche hates the titled classes and their government enforcers. They might have outlawed slavery on paper, but they never came to the islands to free him or his family. Since his skin is black, society has little respect for him. Beche expects no more of this latest captive, but soon Beche begins to realize that Alex is a naïve and beautiful man who values family and struggles with his own place in society.

That poses an even larger problem because Beche does not want to send Alex back to a world that will mistreat him, but he has no place for a lord on a ship full of pirates.

Review: Young Alex is a lord by default after his father and older brother have both passed. He takes his honor and duties to his family very seriously regardless, his priority being the care and safety of his two sisters. When their cargo keeps getting stolen by Pirates, Alex decides to sail with the next shipment to ensure it arrives at port safely. But a traitor amongst his men has betrayed him.

Beche is a ruthless Pirate captain that governs his men with an iron fist and strict code of conduct. He cannot stand the rich and powerful government or the way society still treats men of color, men like him. Beche boards a ship full of tobacco thinking it will be an easy steal, but what he finds is a brash, resilient young Lordling that is as beautiful as he is stubborn and defiant.

Beche takes Alex under his wing, partly for protection from his own men that would just as soon kill the lord as look at him, and partly because he is infatuated and confused by the man. An odd friendship of sorts begins to slowly build between the two strangers.

Alex has been told his attraction to the same-sex is wrong. It is evil, even sent off to a doctor that supposedly cured him of his wicked thoughts. Beche has no time or patience for young, spoiled lords. But he is not only drawn to Alex’s innocence and beauty, he admires the man’s strength of character and his refusal to be tamed.

When Beche is captured during a raid gone badly, Alex has the chance to finally escape the pirate and the ship, to go home with his sisters where he belongs. The problem is, he doesn’t feel like he belongs there anymore, and he refuses to leave Beche to be hanged. Can Alex and Beche’s crew of madcap misfits pull off a jail break? Or will Alex get himself killed trying to rescue his captor?

This is definitely a dialogue driven story with a Pirate, Steampunk era backdrop. For those of you that aren’t familiar, Steampunk is the love child of the Victorian and Dystopian styles of writing. I loved the little inventions that Alex’s sisters created throughout the story. How those two women, who were expected to stay home and mind the mansion, could run circles around the men that surrounded them. Alex’s pet spider was quite possibly my favorite. And then the way the little thing had a limp when repaired, like a pirate, it just fit perfectly into the story.

The writing was articulate, descriptive and well versed. The characters were three-dimensional, perfectly flawed and gave each other a sort of balance. While Alex was violated as a youth because of his attraction to men, by a learned doctor no less, he still carries those feelings inside. He and Beche are like day and night, polar opposites both physically and emotionally. But from the start they fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. And I absolutely loved how the author wrote that aspect of the story describing the longing of a person’s soul not always matching the wrapping.

There were a couple of times where the dialogue dragged on too much for my liking and it weighed down the story a little. And then the author’s absolute refusal to use the words cock or dick when describing the male parts, it was maddening. This was very much an adult story, but the way the sexual encounters were versed, it read like a YA book. That being said, I still really liked this book. The author’s ability to weave the multiple events, characters and stories into one storyline was both engrossing and intriguing.

Definitely recommend this one to anyone that likes the genre.

The summer after high school, Eli Dunn and Jess Early explore an abandoned brothel in the rural Florida Panhandle. They’ve always kept their mutual attraction unspoken, but in an upstairs room at the end of the hall, everything changes. Suddenly, all the longing Eli and Jess have tried so hard to conceal bursts free, and passion like they’ve never experienced comes to light, along with the ghosts of Clay Bailey and Silas Denton, murdered owners of the brothel. And Clay and Silas have no problem possessing Eli and Jess in order to express their love for each other, without thought for the living.

Diversion series

by

Eden Winter

Diversion

There are good guys, bad guys, and then there’s Lucky.

Former drug trafficker Richmond “Lucky” Lucklighter flaunts his past like a badge of honor. He speaks his mind, doesn’t play nice, and flirts with disaster while working off his sentence with the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. If he can keep out of trouble a while longer he’ll be a free man–after he trains his replacement.

Textbook-quoting, by the book Bo Schollenberger is everything Lucky isn’t. Lucky slurps coffee, Bo lives caffeine free. Lucky worships bacon, Bo eats tofu. Lucky trusts no one, Bo calls suspects by first name. Yet when the chips are down on their shared case of breaking up a drug diversion ring, they may have more in common than they believe.

Two men. Close quarters. Friction results in heat. But Lucky scoffs at partnerships, no matter how thrilling the roller-coaster. Bo has two months to break down Lucky’s defenses… and seconds are ticking by.

Collusion

Dead men can’t love.

Former drug trafficker Richmond “Lucky” Lucklighter “died” in the line of duty while working off a ten-year sentence in service to the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau, only to be reborn as Simon “Lucky” Harrison. The newbie he trained, former Marine Bo Schollenberger, is now his partner on (and maybe off) the job. It’s hard to tell when Lucky doesn’t understand relationships or have a clue what any sane human is doing in his bed. Bo’s nice to have around, sure, but there’s none of that picking-out-china-together crap for Lucky.

While fighting PTSD, memories of a horrid childhood, and a prescription drug addiction, Bo is paying for his mistakes. Using his pharmacy license for the good guys provides the sort of education he never got in school. Undercover with his hard-headed partner, Bo learns that not everything is as it seems in the world of pharmaceuticals.

When a prescription drug shortage jeopardizes the patients at Rosario Children’s Cancer Center, it not only pits Bo and Lucky against predatory opportunists, but also each other. How can they tell who the villains are? The bad guys don’t wear black hats, but they might wear white coats.

Corruption

Renegade biker. Drug runner. Recovering addict. Wanted by the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. But he isn’t a crook, he’s the law.

SNB Agent Bo Schollenberger’s solved his cases using his brains and not a gun, and with his partner, not alone. Now he’s handed a tough new case involving designer drugs that turn users violent. One false move could end his life as he immerses himself into a motorcycle gang to locate the source. His fate depends on how well he can impersonate someone else. Someone named Cyrus Cooper.

Cyrus is everything Bo Schollenberger isn’t, including the badass enforcer for a smuggling ring. He establishes pecking order with his fists and doesn’t take shit from anybody, not even the undercover agent who comes to help his case.

Simon “Lucky” Harrison’s always been the best, whichever side of the law he was on. Former trafficker turned SNB agent, he damned well ought to be undercover in this motorcycle gang, instead of hanging around the office going crazy with new policies, new people, and “inter-departmental cooperation” that sticks him in a classroom. Yet he’s passed over for the SNB’s biggest case in decades in favor of the rookie who shares his bed. A man Lucky thought he knew.

When survival depends on a web of tangled lies, lines blur, worlds collide, and a high stakes game turns friend to foe. Lucky knows the difference between Bo the agent and Cyrus the outlaw, but does Bo?

Manipulation

Lucky Lucklighter has a new life. His old life wants him back.

He traded trafficking for taking down criminals with the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau, and a drug-lord lover for a man on the right side of the law. Bo Schollenberger found the way past the thorny defenses of Lucky’s heart, and made Mr. I-Get-Along-Fine-Alone think about his and his closets, stevia in the sugar bowl, and a picket fence—with a good lock on the gate.

Now Bo is missing, and a voice long silenced asks, “Did you miss me?” Lucky must deal with a devil from his past to get Bo back.

And if Bo isn’t willing to come? A drug ring needs its back broken before flooding the US with a designer high, seductive and undetectable. But there’s a fine line between good and evil, and a truckload of temptation urging Lucky to cross.

Review: This story gives you more of a taste of Ryan and John. They have finally realized that they were in love. Strange for two straight men but for these two it is perfect. Although with life nothing is easy but one must always strive for more. I received books one and two, and started reading book one when I realized that I had read it once before when it first came out.

It was when I was beginning to get into m/m romance stories and realized that I loved them more. However after reading book one yesterday I realized that it hit me even more now. I had such a great time reading about the guys once more. Then I started reading this story and even though I did want to smack the guys around and definitely John’s ex-wife, it was amazing.

Ryan is in love with John and is having a bit of difficulties with the idea of telling his family. Whereas John blurted it out to everyone. Things were looking up, even though John’s ex-wife is a total bitch especially to Ryan. Now on top of that they have John’s son living with them and his daughter wanting to. His ex’s new husband is a total dick who is so full of hate that if he fell off the planet no one would miss him. Here he is threatening to take Mark back home and Cynthia is no better. However when his ex needs help, who does she run back to. Yes you got it back to John.

Ryan seems to be put on the back burner when Cynthia and the kids come live with them. She is very pregnant and wants John back. John is at her beck and call, it just pisses a person off. The whole time Ryan’s family is not so happy with Ryan suddenly being gay and in love. It is going to take some time to get them all where they need to be. John realizes how Ryan feels, but he doesn’t know how to make him see that he is still the one he loves.

This story was just as good as the first book, if not even better. I would have loved to give it more than five stars. It has hot sex, feisty teenagers, gorgeous men, danger, and so much damn temptation that it has you begging for more. It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading it. I even stayed up past my bed time to read about these two.

It has been some time since I have read one of Kaje’s books and I have to say that I am not disappointed. I loved it and look forward to reading more by this amazing author.

I would recommend reading this book.

Review: Where You’ll Find Him is the first book I’ve read by Mel Bossa and overall it is a rather charming tale May-December romance. However, as I think on it, I find that I was more disappointed by the overall feel of the book.

Gaspard is an older man gent who, while exploring the ManLove side of his bisexuality. He further personal life drama in the form of two grown kids who are coming to terms with their mother and father being bisexual in very different ways. Gaspard meets Wolfe, who is the same age as his rather immature son, but the attraction between the two of them is instantaneous.

It’s sometimes a rather light-hearted read, and some of the minor characters help to lend this feel, particularly Gaspard’s daughter, Malena. Some of the more serious and deeper emotions were more difficult to connect with, which I found disappointing when the plot itself was so fascinating and enjoyable.

I think because so many complex matters were including: we read about the lovers, we read about both of their personal lives/conflicts, we have the conflict of more than one minor character. Because of this I felt that sometimes the story stopped and started up again in some places. It’s just that disconnect that I felt through the story meant that I could not be as emotionally invested as I really wanted or felt that I should be.

Yet in saying all that, I really did adore Gaspard and Wolfe.
The one thing that I have to talk about in the fact that I did not like it over much was the epilogue. It threw me off for a bit. For one, I found it confusing and had to re-read it twice. Secondly, it felt as though it was a short story about the couple rather  than a conclusion.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order. This series also coincides with events happening in the Paranormal Wars: Stone Haven series.

This book has become my new favorite in the Paranormal Wars world. From the minute I started reading I could not put it down.

Anemone has been in hell for the past eighty years. Drugged, beaten, raped, and forced to harm the environment for selfish people’s wants. All his has are the fantasies he creates to take himself away from his hell. His favorite is the one about a cat shifter who comes and takes him away from all his has to endure.

One day the fantasies become the reality.

I loved Hunter. He is the team’s assassin, and was trained from a young age by his sadistic parents to show no emotion. He has lived that way since. That all changes when he rescues Anemone, his mate. I loved how he went out of his way to make Anemone comfortable. Serious cute factors in the things he does for Anemone.

When the two finally consummate their mating, wow, just so loving and sweet and tender. Hunter really takes into consideration all that Anemone has been through. Hunter does all he can to never make Anemone feel threatened or scared about their sexual relationship.

I really enjoyed the slow burn this two had. Anemone is definitely suffering from PTSD, and Hunter completely understands it. The sweet little things does for Anemone, loved them, especially the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reference.

The best is when the chips are down, and Anemone takes back himself and fights back any way he can. This boy can do some damage and I cheered him on for it. Hunter was not bad either.
I simply loved this story. It was touching, sweet, loving, and sexy. Shea Balik really out did herself on this one.

Review: Each book in the Primal Heat collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Jake has had a hard life. His father was so focused and possessive of his mother, that he didn’t even want her near Jake or his brother Cole. When she had taken her life, he had shot Jake and Cole. Cole was insane, killing anyone that even comes close to hurting Jake. Jake had just wanted someone to love and for them to love him back.

It had not gone to plan.

Now he had two gorgeous men that didn’t even give him the time of day. One he had always wanted had left him after their one time together. Jake didn’t know what to do about Zach or Quad. They both acted that they didn’t want him, and then Zach finally makes a move and then leaves him. Now Quad is acting like he wants him.

Things are just about screwed the hell up.

Zach had never wanted a relationship. He wanted Jake but had never made a move. Then what does he do after their one night of sex, he runs. Then he ends up at his parents and his life is about to get even crazier. Russians mistake him for Quad and tear him up pretty good. Now he has two men and nights full of nightmares.

How can he go forward when his head is stuck in the nightmares?
Quad is a mercenary and kills those who deserve it. After a fucked up attempt at taking out the Russian drug lord, he heads home.

Those he tried to kill are coming after him. Then he finds and saves Zach from certain torture. On top of that, Jake is thinking that both of them are just screwing him over. Now he has to figure out how to stay alive when Jake’s brother comes for him, when the Russian’s send their assassin and two pissed off mates. This is not going to be easy.

When these three get their crap together it starts to heat up. At first I thought Jake came off as an omega, but then I realized he was not what you would think he is. He is an enforcer who just lived through some harsh crap. I wasn’t so sure Quad or Zach would ever figure it out. They don’t find their mates like many other paranormal stories do. They go through a primal heat that usually ends up with their mates pregnant. This is a bonus for me.

It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story. What makes it even better is that the mates can get pregnant. There is nothing better than a male having to go through labor to me. When Lynn puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: I really enjoyed this story. The intense emotions between Kirk and Shane were great. I thought it was sweet how Kirk wanted to take care of Shane always. A great love story that takes place in the middle of a raging storm. It was intense yet very tender at times.

Very well written. The plot and characters draw the reader into the story to find out what happens throughout. Hot sex and on the edge of your seat scenes leaves the reader gasping at times.

Another great book by Morticia Knight.

Review: I imagine it’s hard to adjust back to civilian life after being in the military for years. The sights, sounds, and environment are completely foreign because you’re used to constantly being on alert, training, heading out on missions and doing things you probably never would have before. They can leave a permanent imprint on the person as certain things need to be kept secret.
I really liked reading how Jeff quickly adjusted.

Although Hunter is ex military, musician and shop owner, these two hot ex military men burn up the pages with their incredible passion for one another.

It was hot and steamy. It seemed as though they were what each other needed.

Blurb: When a young man dies in an accident, the gathering of friends and family mourning his loss is a painful task. And this pain was no less for the men who met up at the chapel to say goodbye to Sonny ‘Spike’ Ellis.

As the four men congregate near the coffin they begin to share their experiences with Spike with each other. A closer friendship forms- but- for two of the men the funeral is simply too unbearable to endure.

One of the men, Grayson, suggests they head out for a drink, leaving the chapel, avoiding the graveside service, and commiserate together.

He gets no argument from the other three.

During an afternoon of conversation, and a ton of alcohol, the men who had all known each other by sight or through sexual hookups at clubs, begin to bond, share their contact with Spike, and…have sex. Wild, uninhibited sex.

Perhaps the grief had made each man realize their mortality, or maybe a new credo of ‘Live for Today’. Whatever had happened that day at the funeral, four men became committed to one another as a brotherhood…and love bloomed from the ashes.

4 Men and a Funeral.

Perhaps even in the darkest hour…life moves on.
(Warning! This novel contains erotic sexual situations in the form of men loving men. If you find this objectionable, I suggest you do not purchase this novel.)

Review: Everyone deals with grief in their own way. Some choose to be alone in solitude, some to have someone with them. In this book several men choose to deal with the grief together in spite of not knowing one another well. Although the reason why they get together is sad there is plenty of different hot action throughout this book.

Grayson, Rory, Lucas and Aaron have a difficult time attending Spike’s funeral and so all head to Grayson’s to talk. After some drinking and talking one thing leads to another and they all end up in a passionate four way.

Though this story seems more about how someone deals with grief it’s not the only thing I got out of it. Two beautiful lasting relationships were formed as a result of four men coming together in a time of need and grief. Great story.

G.A. Hauser has a knack for taking a tragic event and turning it into a learning and inspirational story. Well written.

Children of Night, Book 4

New Year’s Eve, 1999. The world is braced for Y2K, but that’s not the only ticking time bomb in Conrad’s life. Damian wouldn’t be the first vampire to find a way to die, but Conrad is determined he will not be one of them.

Present day. Damian struggles to trust that fate could possibly be kind enough to give him a love as perfect as Conrad’s. Conrad balances on the keen edge of his own fear that one more slip of his formidable control could drive his lover away—permanently.
Julie learns the hard way it’s not just interspecies relationships that seldom work out. Even between vampires, love is not a smooth course.

Meanwhile, intrigue and conflict within the nest continue to grow, fueled in no small part by Georgia’s slipping hold on a deadly secret. Marc works to consolidate his position as leader of the ferals—and discovers that being a walking anomaly has certain advantages. Including some that are totally unexpected.

Product Warnings: Contains more love triangles, more power struggles, more tears and teeth gnashing, and even more graphic scenes of ManLove between moody, domestically inclined vampires than in previous editions. Definitely not recommended for anyone suffering from ALSSD (Auld Lang Syne Sensitivity Disorder) or with aversions to ballrooms, evening clothes, sarcasm, or close-quarter stiletto combat.

Review: This the fourth book in the Children of the Night series. The plot of the story seemed about the same as the rest of the books with only a few new things added here or there. The back and forth of flashbacks regarding Conrad and Damian was a little confusing at times to me. I was hoping for more to this story than there actually was.

Marc sets out to find out about his origins while at the same time gets closer to the rogues that Conrad wanted nothing to do with. Marc struck me as a very strong and dedicated young man to accomplish all this by himself. I was impressed with his character.

All throughout I found myself continuously having to stop as I couldn’t focus. I was disappointed that there was no progress in this book from the others. Though well written this book lacks much needed advancement in the story to keep the readers engaged in the story.

I didn’t like it myself, but I’m sure others would enjoy it where I didn’t.
