Blurb: Everyone deserves a hero.

Owen Meade is desperately in need of a hero. Raised by a mother who made him ashamed of his stutter, his sexual orientation, and his congenitally amputated arm, Owen lives like a hermit in his Tucker Springs apartment. But then hunky veterinarian Nick Reynolds moves in downstairs.

Nick is sexy and confident, and makes Owen comfortable with himself in a way nobody ever has. He also introduces Owen to his firecracker of a little sister, who was born with a similar congenital amputation but never let it stand in her way. When she signs the two of them up for piano lessons – and insists that they play together in a recital – Owen can’t find a way to say no. Especially since it gives him a good excuse to spend more time with Nick.

Owen knows he’s falling hard for his neighbor, but every time he gets close, Nick inexplicably pulls away. Battling his mother’s scorn and Nick’s secrets, Owen soon realizes that instead of waiting for a hero, it’s time to be one – for himself and for Nick.

Review: I don’t know where to start so I think I will go with AMAZING! That pretty much sums up the characters, the story, and the narration.

Own has been infatuated with his neighbor since he moved to Tucker Springs. When she suddenly moves he is hurt but more that he no longer gets to hear the piano that soothed him nightly. Owen has one arm due to a birth defect and a mother that left him with no confidence so he works from home and is a hermit. When Nick moves in below him and isn’t put off by his arm his life begins to change. Nick introduces him to his sister who also has the same birth defect but the opposite arm and she handles it the opposite as Owen.

Nick also has a secret that makes him keep men at a distance and won’t give into a relationship, but he finds Owen hard to resist.
This is such a lovely story of two men each with his own issue that seriously affects his life. I adored Nick and was so glad to finally get his story. It was better than I hoped for. The story has a lot of angst, some sad moments but I loved the ending. It’s the first in a while that left me laughing.

I listened to this on Audio instead of reading.

I adore Iggy Tomas narrations. He is good at bringing characters to life but even more so at bringing a story to life. I love his soothing voice and could listen to it for hours. Well, I guess I do!

If you like stories about broken men, a few surprises, unlikely heroes and an allover great romance I highly recommend this book.

If you haven’t read or listened to any of the other Tucker Springs books don’t worry each stands alone but I highly recommend them all.

Blurb: Opposites attract, but heaven help these two.

Tattoo artist Seth Wheeler thinks he’s struck gold when Darren Romero rents the apartment across the hall. The new guy is gorgeous, witty, and single, plus he’s just the right blend of bold and flirtatious. Perfect.

Except then Darren reveals that he moved to Tucker Springs to take a job as the youth pastor at the New Light Church. Seth is not only an atheist, but was thrown out by his ultra-religious family when he came out. He tends to avoid believers, not out of judgment but out of self-preservation.

But Darren doesn’t give up easily, and he steadily chips away at Seth’s defenses. Darren is everything Seth wants in a man…except for that one massive detail he just can’t overlook. Is Darren’s religion the real problem, or is it just a convenient smoke screen to keep him from facing deeper fears? It’s either see the light, or risk pushing Darren away forever.

Cat’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

This is a book four of the series but stands alone perfectly. Each book is a standalone set in Tucker Springs.

Seth is a tattoo artist has been single for several years and is an Atheist. He lives above his tattoo shop.

Darren is a minister that moved from Oklahoma across from Seth. Sparks fly immediately between the two men, but Seth has a very hard time dealing with his attraction to Darren.  Partially because Darren is a minister which could cause all sorts of issues since ministers don’t do casual sex. Seth doesn’t do relationships and the biggest thing is the religious issue. But Darren is unlike any other minister or man he has met.

I have been eagerly awaiting Seth’s story and was not disappointed. Who would be a better match for the Atheist Seth than a minister? I loved both Darren and Seth. I loved the dynamics of their relationship. My only issue with the story is that they kept going back and forth over the same issues. I wish there had been a bit more to the story, just a little more action.

Charlie David did a good job telling the story. he showed great excitement and I loved how he conveyed Seth’s inner conflict. I do wish he had changed the voices of Seth and Darren a bit more. However, the story is written well enough and he narrates well enough you could follow along quite well.

If you like ministers, tattoo artists, good contemporary romance and some fairly hot man-sex you  should love this. I also highly recommend this entire series.

E-book review April 2013

LA Witt is an author whose work I will grab regardless, I have yet to read a book by this author that I did not like. Witt has a keen eye for details and possess the ability to transform the reader directly into her world. Likeable characters, realistic situations and some of the steamiest sex scenes I’ve ever read!

For those of you that read book 1 in this series, Where Nerves End, you will immediately recognize Seth. The openly gay, laid back tattoo artist hasn’t always had an easy life. Shunned by his fanatical family when he came out to them in college, he had to learn to make his own way in life quickly when all communication and funding for college were abruptly cut off. He has a good life now with a good job, an apartment and a fantastic close knit group of friends.

When sex on a stick Darren moves into the apartment across the hall, the animalistic attraction between the two is instantaneous. Darren wastes no time getting Seth into his bed. When Seth learns that Darren is a minister he immediately withdraws from him. The pain of his past hasn’t faded and he subconsciously groups Darren in the same class with his family. But he can’t stop thinking about the minister with his dark hair and eyes and a dry, witty sense of humor that makes Seth laugh.

Seth tries very hard not to want Darren, but the fact that the two of them can’t be around each other for very long without ending up in bed doesn’t help his flimsy resistance. Unlike Seth, Darren knows exactly what he wants and what he wants is Seth. When Darren approaches the subject of taking their relationship beyond just the bedroom, Seth’s self-preservation mode kicks in. Will the harsh words he says create a rift between the pair that can’t be undone? Or will Darren forgive the man he’s fallen in love with, the man that’s also fallen in love with him, but won’t admit it, not even to himself.

The story flows effortlessly and before I knew it I was at the end. The characters are both flawed and carry some pretty serious baggage, but this only makes them more believable and likeable in the end. The sex is sensual, steamy and well conveyed by the author. This is a must read for any M/M fans.

Audio review May 2016

This story was already a favorite read of mine, now with Charlie David’s narration I love the story just that much more. David is not so much a narrator as a story teller. His changes in tone, nuance and inflection are slight from one character to the next, but he still does a great job of making sure the reader/listener is aware of whose voice they are hearing. Listening to Seth and Darren’s story actually brought things to the forefront that I missed when I read the book. The struggle Seth had with his attraction to Darren coupled with his disdain for Darren’s profession had more impact when I was listening to their conversations. As I stated 3 years ago after reading the book, these guys are inexplicably drawn to each other to spite their differences, both having some baggage that they automatically bring into the relationship. It’s Seth that really has to examine who he is and who he wants to be before the two of them can make a go at it.

Definitely worth the read or the listen, both even. I think that you will get something different from each version as I did, and both are well worth your time. A passionate love story about how opposites not only attract, they can make it work.

Blurb: The course of true love doesn’t always run clean. But sometimes getting dirty is half the fun.

Entomology grad student Adam Ellery meets Denver Rogers, a muscle-bound hunk of sexy, when Denver effortlessly dispatches the drunken frat boys harassing Adam at the Tucker Springs laundromat. Thanking him turns into flirting, and then, much to Adam’s delight, hot sex over the laundry table.

Though Denver’s job as a bouncer at a gay bar means he gets his pick of geek-sexy college twinks, he can’t get Adam out of his head. Adam seems to need the same rough play Denver does, and it’s damn hard to say no to such a perfect fit.

Trouble is, Adam isn’t just shy: he has obsessive compulsive disorder and clinical anxiety, conditions which have ruined past relationships. And while Denver might be able to bench-press a pile of grad students, he comes from a history of abuse and is terrified of getting his GED. Neither Denver nor Adam want to face their dirty laundry, but to stay together, they’re going to have to come clean.

Review: Dirty Laundry is the third book in the Tucker Springs series though these books stand alone.

In Dirty Laundry we get Denver’s story.  He goes one night to do laundry when a bunch of Frat boys are picking on another young man, he breaks it up and he and Adam enjoy a hot round of sex in the Laudro Rama.

Not a man for relationships he is shocked finding himself hoping this twink does call him.

Adam is a grad student studying bugs. He has recently moved out of the frat house after a break-up. He suffers OCD and is having a hard enough time living in a new apartment now he finds himself wanting to see Denver knowing once he finds out about his problems he will leave.

I love stories about broken men. I especially love it when both characters are broken. Denver though big and strong feels like a dummy because he can’t get his dream job because he can’t pass a test. Adam has OCD with panic attacks. I love how Heidi did such a good job getting both Adams OCD right, though every case is different. I was able to relate to him having OCD though mine is nothing like his. What I really liked was how she used BDSM to help Adam. The BDSM is not overboard and not the major focus of the story but the aid to help bring both Denver and Adam together.  There is a strong plot and some hot man-sex.

I loved Iggy’s Thomas voice for Denver.  He did such a good job with the cowboy twang. I was surprised since he has such a soft voice. I am still not sure I liked Adams voice, I think it was a bit over the top.  But having said that there was a good distinction between the characters.  As usual his narration is quite good. He can always draw me into a story.

If you love sexy cowboys and bouncers, sweet nerdy college students, a touch of BDSM, an allover good romance and some hot man-sex then you should like this.

Review: This book is part of a series and is best read/listened to in order.

Scott is struggling not only with his part in what happened to Tripp but his own sexuality. With the help of his dear friend and beard Brandy he has made some decisions. First: to confront Tripp and Marty. Tripp gets him to work in the LGBT rodeo circuit helping him train bull riders and to perhaps work back into getting ready to ride himself again after being out of the rodeo for over 2 years.

When Scott meets Cory, a sweet pickup man that battles harassment but still holds his own and never seems down. They develop a fast friendship. Scott soon feels more but isn’t quite ready to deal with it yet.

I have been waiting for Scott’s story. He was the man you loved to hate through the entire series so far. Now to see why he was so angry and full of hate was intriguing. I liked that there was so much going on here. I liked finding out why Scott had a thing against being gay and that he faced that as well as Tripp and Marty.  I liked the slow burn between Scott and Cory and the friends to lovers plot.

Dorian Bane is a great choice of narrator for this series. He has a deep rustic voice for Scott, yet he was able to pull off Cory’s sweeter, softer voice as well. He makes it easy to follow all the characters and pulls you deep into the story.

If you like rodeos, pickup men, coming out, friend to lovers and second chances (at friendships and other relationships) you will love this!

This is a book three in the series You can read or listen as a standalone as the backstory is worked in well but I highly recommend reading (or listening to the other two books first.) If you like cowboys, you won’t be sorry!

Review:  Tams’ 5 Heart E-book Review (March 2016)

Every really good Author has their proverbial ‘Murphy’s Law’ coupling. Diana Gabaldon has Claire and Jaime, Mary Calmes has Sam and Jory, Abigail Roux has Ty and Zane, and Rhys Ford has Cole and Jae. Cole and Jae have been through so much, both as a couple and on their own before they even met. It’s taken a very long time for Jae to live his life openly, to admit he loves Cole and to own his sexuality. Whereas Cole has always worn his sexuality like a badge.

As this story starts, it looks like Cole is still up to his finding trouble no matter where he goes antics, but it also looks like he and Jae are finally settling into a comfortable relationship with no boundaries or barriers.

Well, if you know Cole and Jae, you know that them being happy is like a homing beacon for trouble. You also know Cole will stop at nothing to protect those he loves. Everything is about to come full circle for this unlikely duo. Someone in Jae’s estranged family reaches out to Cole and Jae for help, which is laughable, considering what said family have put them both through.

And then another ghost from Cole’s past decides to start wreaking havoc and putting bullet holes in anyone or anything standing still. Is it just an unhappy coincidence that these things are happening simultaneously? Or has the grim reaper finally come to collect the debt Cole squirmed his way out of when he survived the shooting that took his former lovers life?

I think what has drawn me to this series with each new story is not only watching Cole and Jae struggling with issues both as a couple, and as individuals. Watching their bullet riddled love story unfold. I think it’s the way their feelings, emotions and thoughts have been described in such meticulous detailing that I feel I can almost see inside them. Ford could possibly make a sociopath feel with the way she vividly describes the characters and their emotions.

Another fantastic aspect of Ford’s stories, not just this series, is how she creates these secondary characters that are as vital to the story as Cole and Jae are. Then there is the dry, witty sarcastic sense of humor Cole embodies.

Jae goes off on Cole at one point in this story, having had enough of his pleas with Cole to “not get hurt” or “not get shot” ignored quite long enough. It is hysterical. I laughed so hard I think I peed my pants just a bit. Claudia deserves mom of the year y’all! And Bobby, that man cracks me up. One of my favorite lines in the book came from Bobby, talking to Cole.

“Get out of my truck so I can go home and fuck your brother.”

Definitely a must read story for fans of the Author and/or the series. If you don’t grab a copy you will never know exactly what drove Cole’s former partner on the police force to shoot Cole and his then lover, leaving one of them dead before turning the gun on himself. I’ll admit that I have had a couple of theories since the first book.

And I was surprised when the truth is revealed. If you like action packed, non-stop, thrill a minute stories with flawed, three-dimensional characters and these absolutely insane story lines… I would wonder why you haven’t read this series yet.

Tams’ 5 Heart Audiobook Review (June 2016)

Rhys Ford and Greg Tremblay… a more perfect union could not be found I tell you. Between Ford’s immaculate attention to detail and the way she can shape and mold words, and Tremblay’s ability to breathe life into any character he voices… its chocolate for my ears! I couldn’t be more pleased that Tremblay carried the torch from start to finish for this series. I came to feel like the characters I was listening to were old friends, and every year or so we would have a visit, bullet proof vest and riot gear required, of course.

Everything comes to a volcanic head in this last book, and when it finally blows, no one is safe. I think that Cole is pretty much done. The man has more holes in him than a slice of Swiss cheese, and the constant worrying for every single person he loves and holds dear. He’s just ready for some semblance of a normal life with Jae, growing old and fucking like bunnies until they can’t see straight. Being an uncle, brother, best friend and son (to Claudia of course, not that SOB father of his).

But there is one more bad guy to take down before Cole can rest easy.

I highly recommend this series… well, this Author and Narrator in fact. I believe Rhys Ford had some water bottles at GRL one year that read “Murder – Mystery – Mayhem” those three words aptly describe this series, with a metric ton of passion and just a little bit of angst. You can read, listen or do both as I did.

Review: Jeremy is trying to get his Ph.D. Money is tight, and he isn’t getting near enough tutoring jobs. With funding at his lab getting reduced, Jeremy takes an offer from men’s Dining club to help make ends meet. All he has to do is wear skimpy clothing, take off one piece at each course, as he serves wealthy men. Anything else ‘on the menu or night caps’ is strictly up to him. When he sees his first client, he thinks that a little play may not be too bad.

Brice, ‘Mr. Green’, wasn’t too keen at going to the dining club with his associate the first time until he met his serving bo. He found he could get used to  having Remmy wait on him.  The next time he has to take a client he chooses a different boy so he doesn’t get hung up on a guy that is working and having sex with men for money. Seeing Remmy with another man,  Brice knows he is already in too deep.

I loved this story. It’s charming, sweet and sexy.  The characters are well-developed, and the concept of the dirty dining is interesting. I would love to see each serving boy’s story!

I got lost in the narration, and before I knew it, my book had ended.  I think I could have listened to another two or three hours!

If you like fast-paced romances, a rags to riches story, hot lawyers, sexy men for pay, gentlemen’s clubs and some very hot man-sex this is for you!

Blurb: Sheriff Lance Beaufort is not going to let trouble into his town, no sir. Tucked away in the California Mountains, Mad Creek has secrets to keep, like the fact that half the town consists of ‘quickened’—dogs who have gained the ability to become human. Descended on both sides from Border Collies, Lance is as alert a guardian as they come.

Tim Weston is looking for a safe haven. After learning that his boss patented all of Tim’s work on vegetable hybrids in his own name, Tim quit his old job. A client offers him use of her cabin in Mad Creek, and Tim sees a chance for a new start. But the shy gardener has a way of fumbling and sounding like a liar around strangers, particularly gorgeous alpha men like Sheriff Beaufort.

Lance’s hackles are definitely raised by the lanky young stranger. He’s concerned about marijuana growers moving into Mad Creek, and he’s not satisfied with the boy’s story. Lance decides a bit of undercover work is called for. When Tim hits a beautiful black collie with his car and adopts the dog, its love at first sight for both Tim and Lance’s inner dog. Review: Tim Weston’s youth and naiveté have caused him a lot of pain in his life. He is in his early twenties and never had a positive role model. His father was abusive, his former boss a worthless liar and a thief.

So Tim quits his job, packs up and heads to Mad Creek where a friend is lending Tim her house for six months so he can work on some hybrid seeds for plants and vegetables. Right away he draws attention, since Mad Creek is a town full of shifters, Tim sort of sticks out like a sore thumb.

Sheriff Lance Beaufort has his doubts about Tim’s intentions from the start, so he befriends Tim in his shifter form, a border collie that Tim names Chance. In his shifter form, Lance can spy on the newcomer to see if he is up to no good.

The more time Lance spends with Tim, in both forms, the more attached he becomes. Things can’t help but end badly when Tim discovers that someone else he could care for has been lying to him.

Let me tell you how refreshing it was to read a story about something other than wolves. I love Easton’s unique take on the shifter world with the dogs, how some don’t manifest their first shift until later in life, and some have issues acclimating to the real world after being in their dog form for so long.

Even better than the unique story was the narration. My first listen with Matthew Shaw and I loved his take on the story. He literally dove into the characters, right down to every growl, howl and bark.

If you are looking for a fast, fun story that is both well written and entertaining, you should give this story a go.

Nick is still on the mend from being stabbed and damn near killed while he, Kelly and the rest of the Sidewinder team did everything in their power to bring down the Vega cartel before they could kill Nick’s best friend Ty, and Ty’s husband Zane. By now Zane has pretty much become an honorary member of the team, having bled for them all more than once.

The knife wound, subsequent surgery and long road to recovery aren’t the only things hanging over Nick and Kelly. They’ve both lost their way, each of them were a compass for the other to light their way, all the secrets and lies has driven a wedge between them and Kelly is not sure he will find his way back to the love he feels for Nick.

It’s a letter from the only member of their psychotic team of misfits to meet an untimely demise that brings the whole of Sidewinder back together and quite possibly remind Nick and Kelly why they depend on, care for and love one another more than life itself.

Written fabulously by Abigail Roux, characters brought to life by Brock Thompson, the final book in the Sidewinder and Cut & Run series’ does not disappoint. I was a little worried about this group of men I have come to know and love having to go through another rough and tumble ordeal, but thankfully, Roux lowered the body count and anxiety level of this book dramatically from the others in these two series.

Part & Parcel brings the one character in the books we never really got to know to the forefront, Elias Sanchez. Through a series of letters and instructions, Sanchez takes his team on a trip down memory lane, making them all remember why they love each other like brothers, why they would put their lives in each other’s hands, and in doing so he also reminds Nick and Kelly that their love for each other is what matters, not the jobs or the missions or the bullshit, just love.

I will say that I don’t care very much for Thompson’s narration, but that is solely because I’ve listened to all the Cut & Run books and gotten used to a particular voice for each character.

That being said, Thompson did do a great job with the story including changes in inflection and tones to suit not only the character he was voicing at any given time, but to suit the situation at that time as well.

I know it’s an investment, but if you haven’t listened to these books, I recommend that you do. It is literally an epic saga, but it is so much fun to take the ride with all these guys.

Murder, Mayhem and Destruction is tempered by Love, Honor, Trust and Loyalty with these guys. Definitely a must read and/or listen series in my humble opinion.

I’m really quite said to have to say goodbye.

Review: The third book in the Playing the Fool trilogy, The Tempest continues on with the Shakespeare references, lots of dramatic action, a lovely mystery that comes full circle. There was a lot to bring together in this last book, many characters to tie together and a future to weave for Mac and Cheese. I was very satisfied with this ending, though saddened there could be no redemption for one of my favorite characters…I’ll let you read about it!

The sexual tension between Henry and Mac took some backwards steps a few times, unveiling Henry’s insecurity, leaving me wondering if Mac could really help heal those old wounds and the distance between them.

One of my favorite characters, Henry’s sister, plays a pivotal role in The Tempest, and I’m so glad of it! It helps bring the future together for them all.

The narrator does another wonderful job, though there does seem to be a chapter missing….wish I had that, but the story still moves forward at a fast pace.

An action packed trilogy, something to read that feels fresh and different from what the m/m genre has been pumping out lately. Worth a read or listen for sure. Oh and I can’t forget to throw in there…I totally LOVE Mac’s parents. Wish I had them myself!

Review: Ebook review June 2014

Short, Sexy and Steamy! My three favorite colors!!

Retired Marine Eric Ramos is taking on civilian life as the personal assistant/bodyguard for a Professional Basketball player that hasn’t had the best of luck with his staff. After fighting for our country as a marine, suffering from PTSD and dealing with ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ in the military… Eric is pretty sure he can handle one spoiled basketball player. Boy does he have his work cut out for him.

From the first meeting Eric is mesmerized with the tall, lithe basketball player with white blonde curly hair and sad eyes. Tyler Haley is very much like a child. Perhaps growing up in the system robbed him of something that he is now starving for, a life unlived.

Eric quickly learns how Tyler works, his little ticks and what sends him over the edge. Tyler suffers from panic attacks and he is oddly very shy and withdrawn. Over the first few weeks that Eric and Tyler work in close quarters, Tyler stars to let down his guard and get more comfortable with Ram (what Tyler calls Eric).

Little by little Eric begins to peel back the layers that Tyler hides under and they get under one another’s skin. But just when Eric thinks that he’s figured out how to care for Tyler and keep him safe and happy, the damn bursts. The one promise Eric made to himself, that he wouldn’t fall for his client, is about to become a very easy promise to break.

I loved everything about this little story! Eric is this large and in charge semper fi ex-marine that storms into Tyler’s life and makes Tyler feel something he never thought he could feel, safe and comfortable. Tyler is a conundrum. Very strong and confident on the court but so childlike and insecure at heart.

When you learn Tyler’s story, what he went through growing up, it will break your heart. And for him to have someone there to love and protect him in that most vulnerable moment when he finally tells someone the truth, feels comfortable enough with someone to tell them the truth, it’s a thing of beauty.

Must read for fans of the genre. If you love a short story that has a lot of charisma and charm, along with passion and slow burning love, you will love this book!

Audiobook review March 2016

The story was narrated by Randy Fuller and while I thought he fully captured Ramos with the tone he chose for him, his voice is very mature so the tone for Tyler sounded too old for him.

This is one of the audio books that wasn’t quite as good for me as the written version. It was an enjoyable listen, the tones, inflections and nuances were all there and in the appropriate fashion, and I just couldn’t get used to the tone for Tyler.

I’d still say you would probably enjoy listening, definitely would enjoy reading.

Review: Rules of Engagement is a lusty story that’s about 75% sexual encounter, and if you’re looking for that, the lovemaking is hot, heavy and beautifully written and narrated!

Just when I thought that’s what this sexual self-discovery, coming out story was about. It took a turn for the serious, realistic and contemplative at the 10 yard line. Rules of Engagement dives into some soul-searching moments of questioning one’s sexual orientation, relationships with family, friends and a new lover who is making you question all you thought you knew about yourself.

My heart broke for Brandon, and I wanted to shake Dustin or kick his ass! There were plenty of ups and downs, with a passionate ending that left me hungry for more! Good thing I just happen to know there’s a sequel…

The narrator was very good, and has a wonderful sultry voice.

If you need a steamy afternoon delight, Rules of Engagement delivers some very hot content!

Blurb: Paul Hannon moved to Tucker Springs for his girlfriend, but she’s left him with a house he can’t afford and a pantry full of useless gadgets. All Paul wants is to get back to normal, even if he’s not sure what that is anymore. When he wanders into Tucker Pawn for a gift to win her back, he meets El Rozal, pawn shop owner and all-around cynic.

El Rozal doesn’t do relationships, especially not with clueless straight boys still pining for their ex. El may make his living dealing in castoffs, but that doesn’t apply to men. Still, when Paul starts clearing out his old life, pawning kitchen equipment he never wanted in the first place, El is drawn to Paul in spite of himself.

Paul and El have nothing in common except a past full of disappointments. There’s no reason to believe the two of them could fit, but in El’s line of work, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. When it comes to love, El and Paul may learn that secondhand doesn’t mean second best.

Review: Paul moved to Tucker Springs for his girlfriends so she could sell her sculptures. When she found out he failed his vet school and got a job as a receptionist, she found someone else. Someone she felt could help her make it in the art world.  Down on his luck, Paul kept trying to win Stacy over. For her birthday, he went to the Tucker Springs Pawn to find a gift for her.

El was immediately taken by the cute, innocent young man. Straight man.

All Paul really wants is love and acceptance. To be able to make out in public, hold hands in public.

This was such a fun, romantic story. I loved how Paul was so clueless that El was taking thing just to see him, especially when he took the dog left on the vet’s steps for Paul. I loved the way El’s friend chided him about Paul and the fun banter between El, his friend, and his family.

If you are looking for fun, humorous romance, like bisexual men, Gay for you stories, cute dogs, gardening and an all over great romance, this is the book for you. It’s perfect for an afternoon of yard work or housework.

Plug in your earphones and let Iggy Toma tell you the story of El and Paul! I love Iggy Toma. He can tell a story so well.  His voice is nearly mesmerizing. He conveys all the characters so well.

Blurb: Brad is great at meeting other people’s expectations. But his own? Not so much. Take the gay thing. Okay, so yeah. It took a morning meeting with a frat brother’s hairy, naked ass for him to admit it, but he knows the truth about himself now. Let the gay life commence.

Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. He hasn’t quite determined how to come out to anyone, even Sebastian, the geeky-hot TA in his history class. Sebastian is everything Brad is not. Intellectual, suave, hairy. Out. And he doesn’t seem interested in Brad, even when Brad makes a fool of himself trying to catch his notice.

Score one for foolery: Sebastian does more than notice Brad; he takes him to bed. Brad’s been with plenty of girls, but with Sebastian, the sex is something else entirely – hot, mind-blowing, affirming, and a little domineering in a way that drives him wild. But when great sex turns into something more – dare he admit the “L” word? – Brad must face the crushing realization that Sebastian doesn’t feel the same. Unless, of course, he does.

After all, even grad students can be idiots about matters of the heart.

Review: This cute and sexy coming out story put a smile on my face!

Assertive and sexy Sebastian, confident in his role as seductive lay-‘em-and-leave-‘em TA, is sideswiped by a cute yet vulnerable jock, Brad, who is just starting to find himself and test the gay waters. Oddly enough it seems the important people in Brad’s life noticed the gay long before he came to terms with it himself.

There are many comedic parts of this story, and plenty of inner dialogue that made me grin. The sex scenes are intimate yet erotic with some fun dominance/submissive scenes. There are first kisses, first frottage, first well…and I can’t’ forget the repentance with toys! Damn, Sebastian can be hot Dom, and enjoying Brad play the submissive, cute and cuddly jock role…made for some topsy-turvy fun! A lot of cute and a little kink!

The narrator was pretty good at creating unique voices for each character which I always appreciate. The intoxicated Brad voice was a bit odd, but the rest was a great fit. I loved it every time I heard Sebastian’s character call Brad “Honey”, made me puddle every time.

Generally, Frat Boy and Toppy was a light, yet endearing coming out story that pulled my heartstrings and struck my funny bone.

Definitely worth a listen! I was either laughing or panting for most of the book!

Review: Once again, Toni Griffin rocks my world. This series should be read in sequence, it’s just better that way.

This story about broke my heart with Jason’s story. He is so gentle, kind and a heart made of gold, and he just grabs your heartstrings. You can’t help but fall in love with him. And his mate Alex feels the same way. Alex is the alpha of his pack and treats his mate as if he is the most special person in his life, which of course he is as he should be. You can’t help but fall in love with him and the way he is so tender with Jason.

At first when I heard Dominic start speaking I wasn’t for sure if I was going to like it. Then I remembered that this story takes place somewhere else so his accent made sense. I enjoyed the different voices he gave each character and even made mom sound like a mom. I had fun listening to his voice for each one and just wished I could have listened to him for a bit longer.

This audio book is so full of love, pain, and sadness, but the love will win all the way around. The sex is so passionate and truly hot. Even with the danger out there waiting for Jason, you can tell the Alex will protect him with his life. It will keep you spellbound and on the edge of your seat.

I am so glad to have found this series as it shows me that true love will heal all wounds. I am very glad to have this book in my library and cannot wait to add the others to it.

Review: E-book review from December 2012…

Openly gay assassin Mateo Esposito has the perfect life. He kills people for a living and doesn’t even think twice as he pulls the trigger. His targets are murderers, rapists and pedophiles; so the fact that he doesn’t lose any sleep over them is no surprise. Until he stumbles upon Riley Flynn.

Riley Flynn is the CEO of Flynn Electronics. Not so openly gay, Riley stays safely behind the doors of his closet. After his mother died when he was a teenager, Riley was raised by his homophobic father. Riley is also Mateo’s next target.

Character development was precise as we watch Mateo go from predator to protector. The relationship that develops between the pair is amazing, even as they fight it, and then give in to it, only to come across yet another road block. Gasq-Dion definitely laid the ground work for many more books and promising storylines with the side characters as well. My personal favorite would be General “fuck it” Derek and Pruitt, I do so hope they get much more page time in the coming books.

This is an M/M erotic love story that is sensual and steamy! It is also fast paced and action packed with several twists and turns to keep you guessing.

Audio book review April 2016…

It’s always a joy when a favorite narrator breathes life into one of your favorite books. Boudreaux truly brings Mateo and Riley to life with tone, inflection and sometimes not so subtle nuances. I especially liked the desperation I could hear in his voice during a more dramatic part in the story.

I’ve probably read this book a dozen times or more so I knew full well how these two met, fell in love, were torn apart and the dangerous road travelled to bring them back together. Listening to the events unfold gave me a new insight into the story. You can read a book and imagine how something sounds or feels, Boudreaux was able to bring those sounds and feelings out for the characters with the voices he gave them.

I highly recommend this series to anyone that reads the genre. Whether you like shifters, paranormal, romance, passion, angst, you can find just about anything in this series. And now we have the promise of hearing the escapades and sexcapades of this Motley crew of men that make up the Skull Blasters and Shifters.

Very exciting!

Review: First off, you’re in for a treat because this whole series is beautifully written and perfectly narrated. I absolutely have a new favorite narrator. I was so glad to see Lane Hayes wrote a series of these heartwarming, soul-searching, and steamy novels.

This second book in the Right and Wrong Series, The Wrong Man, spins out from a character we have already been introduced to in The Right Words, Brandon Good, of B. Goods boutique. Brand is the strong friend with sage advice, always a shoulder to lean on, but always strong-willed, and fiercely independent. His store is his life, and there’s not much room for more beyond helping his friends solve their personal woes. His protective walls come crumbling down when the shock of an ex-lover, his first true love, comes back into the picture, walking a geriatric dog.

Jake is the big strong EMT, so lovable I wanted to hold him and hug him and keep him forever. But there’s a darker past layered into the writing of this story. We know something crushing happened to both characters in their past, but will it be big enough to keep them apart a second time around?

Just as Jake and Bran start to mend fences, and new sparks ignite, with the sweet dog to give them a safe buffer zone, another player comes into the game of love. The ex-lover Jake was seeking distance from wants his place in Jake’s life back. The jealousy is palpable, and Brandon doesn’t know if his heart can take another deep wound.

One of the hooks that kept my rapt attention is the question of what Jake did to Brandon in their past that wounded him so much. And what are the secrets Jake is keeping close to the vest regarding those years between graduation and now. Could it destroy them both? So much drama, such a lovely story!

The most refreshing thing about how Hayes writes sexual encounters is that the main characters don’t rush right to the one finger, two finger, fuck trope. These lovers enjoy all the senses, the kiss, frottage, fellatio, simply being held by another human being, long before the intimacy of intercourse. Each scene, whether it be a simple kiss, or a hot grope up against a wall, is beautifully written and narrated to perfection.

I also enjoy the multi ethnic characters in Hayes’ writing. The beauty found in characters of Latino, or mixed ethnicity backgrounds bring such an interesting weave to the tapestry of this series.

The Wrong Man is a story of heartbreak, loss and disappointment morphing into maturity, individuals witnessing new growth, forgiveness, and rediscovery of each other.

Oh, and I can’t forget the love of a dog, and all the dedication that goes with that!

Blurb: Sebastian Orwell did the only thing a smart wizard could do when he stumbled upon the wounded Crown Prince: He healed him and dumped him in a tavern where he could continue not being Sebastian’s problem. Unfortunately, the prince isn’t content with being alive, and he hunts Sebastian down to thank him personally. Not only is Sebastian stuck with the prince’s unwanted affections, but he’s also confronted by growing evidence linking the assassination attempt to someone from his father’s past.

Lord Orwell is a lot of things: thief, liar, drunk, and all-around horrible father, but Sebastian knows he’s no murderer. In order to prove it, Sebastian has to keep the prince alive long enough to discover the truth – a task made considerably harder because the idiot prince prefers wooing Sebastian over securing his own survival. Review: This is actually the very first book that I have read by this author, or I should say listened to and I have to say that it was a blast. At first when I heard it start I wasn’t actually sure that I would like it. However once I got past the accent, I was glad to have had the chance to hear this story. There is a lot of detail and depth to it that caught me by surprise. This is one story I would not mind listening to more than once.

I wasn’t sure at first if there was going to be any romance till I saw the Prince sleeping next to our sexy Sebastian the first night in the woods. If you love anything fantasy, mage, fey, wizards and so much more, then this is going to be one for you. I absolutely hated Sebastian at first. He is a cocky little ass through most of it.

Then you add in his family and let’s just say that it would make the holidays even better. Then you have assassins going after the quirky little prince, whose mind is on Sebastian and it is action packed. Although if you don’t have a deep idea of all the characters then you might get a bit lost with it.

Cornell Collins narrated this amazing story and he rocked it. He was able to give all of the characters distinctive voices that you could not forget if you tried. I was impressed with his ability, that is for sure. He made this book even better in my opinion.

The plot and story line are fully developed and are a bit complex in areas. I wasn’t sure at first but after the first few lines I knew that this was going to be a hit with me. I enjoyed it and look forward to more by not only this author but narrator.

I would definitely recommend it.

Blurb: What if sexuality wasn’t a definable thing and labels merely got in the way?

Nick Jones can’t remember a time when he wasn’t part of the in crowd. Everywhere he goes, he stands out as the best looking guy in the room, and women practically fall into bed with him. Then, after kissing Corey on a dare led to much more and on many occasions, Nick’s “screw anything” reputation escalated, but he didn’t care.

When Nick meets RC at the restaurant where he works, it throws his whole life out of whack. RC lives up to his dubbed nickname “Scruffy Dude”. He seems Nick’s complete opposite, but Nick can’t get him out of his head.

Because of peer pressure and his fears about defining his sexuality, Nick struggles with stepping out of his comfort zone and caring about someone different than himself. If he’s lucky, somewhere between arrogance and ignorance, Nick might find out what it means to be an adult, but if he’s wrong, he could lose everything.

Review: I loved it and I hated it! There is a very strong message in Names Can Never Hurt Me, and for me that was that we can overcome our flaws, we can see our mistakes, learn from them, and improve our behaviors and our lives. Because Nick wasn’t just called names by a bunch of psychotic, incestuous friends, he really was a shallow, clueless superbly flawed character deserving of such labels many times.

I had a hard time relating to the character of Nick. At his age I had finished college, started my career, gotten married and already had one child. I have been very independent my whole life so I could not put myself in Nick’s place.

He’s a grown man living with his parents, his mother still does his laundry and cooks for him. He’s completely unmotivated by anything but meaningless sex. He seems to know he’s hot and that’s about it. I also don’t think Nick ever does figure out what being an adult means, he goes straight from living with his mommy, to living with his boyfriend. Never experiencing living on his own.

I can get on board with RC. He’s living on his own, struggling through life and stereotypes, and overcoming horrible things that have happened to him. I think he totally sold himself short, even after hooking up with Nick, RC deserves better.

Just saying.

There are moments in this story where I just bang my head on the desk and ask the gods why, why would this dialogue ever be included, but then there were moments of humor, passion, and poignant words, too.

The sexual content was purposefully diverse, with the shallow brief encounters leaving me feeling dirty and discarded with a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended. The more tender, slow and sensual experiences between Nick and RC are arousing yes, but also warm the heart.

Names Can Never Hurt Me was a mixed bag for me. The light-hearted, shallow dialogue does not quite outweigh the wonderful poignant moments for me. The two things that saved the story were the characters of RC and Corey. They have strength and conviction, they help others, and they carry the story.

Jack Amber did a great job giving each character a unique voice, and despite the dialogue coming out of some of these characters’ mouths. He delivered the story with complete respect.
