Blurb: Deer shifter Leon Kinney’s first day at C.L.A.W. sees him thrown into the deep end when he catches the attention of tiger shifter, and assassin, Alistair Byrne. When one of Alistair’s colleagues tries to kill him, revealing himself to be a member of the terrorist organisation known as Pan, it’s Leon’s help he needs.

Leon knew his life would change when he left his old job working for a technology company, but he hadn’t anticipated just how much. He finds himself jetting off to Cuba to go undercover in the house of a drug lord where the only person he can trust is the assassin assigned to protect him.

Falling in love with a killer while pretending to be someone else, being held hostage, and having guns pointed at him way too often wasn’t the way Leon had imagined his life going, but as he was quickly learning, maybe he didn’t know himself as well as he thought.

Review: He had been working a normal job that wasn’t exciting but had what a normal person would need. That is until he was recruited by an organization that included excitement, adventure and danger, for those who were working on the outside. Leon was working as a collection and helped spy’s land on their feet. That was what he thought but on his first day he ended up helping one blow up a tank, and his life got stranger after that. Which considering he was a deer shifter was saying something.

Alistair was not only a spy but an assassin. One assignment that was suppose to be easy turned deadly, a tank was shooting at him. He needed help but the one on the other line was not who he expected. A tiger shifter who had a rough life until he had been taken in by a bear shifter, his job was what one would expected. Now with the help of a sexy little deer shifter they might just get out of this alive.

I came across this author quite some time ago and have always been fascinated by the worlds she has created. So when this series came out I knew I had to get my hands on it. I love paranormal’s that have a bit of suspense, danger, excitement and sexy ass spies in them. This gave me that and so much more. A tiger and a deer are an interesting combination. It caught my attention from the start and kept it till the very end.

I can guarantee that this is one of those stories that will be read many times over. I had a blast reading it and can’t wait to get my hands on the next story.

Blurb: Aramin Decourcey—Min to his few friends—might be the best thief in Amberwich, and he might have a secret that helps him survive the cutthroat world of aristocratic families and their powerful magic users, but he does have one weakness: his affection for his adopted nephew, Harry.

When the formidable Sabadine family curses Harry, Min must accept a suicide mission to save his life: retrieve Kazimir Stone, a low-level Sabadine hedgewitch who refuses to come home after completing his apprenticeship… and who is in Anhaga, a seaside village under the control of the terrifying Hidden Lord of the fae. If that wasn’t enough, Kaz is far from the simple hedgewitch he seems.

With the Sabadines on one side and the fae on the other, Min doesn’t have time to deal with a crisis of conscience—or the growing attraction between him and Kaz. He needs to get Kaz back to Amberwich and get Harry’s curse lifted before it kills him. Saving Harry means handing Kaz over to his ruthless family. Saving Kaz means letting Harry die. Min might pride himself on his cleverness, but he can’t see his way out of this one.

The Hidden Lord might see that he never gets the choice.

Review: Oh my word this was such a great story. You have Min whose a thief sent on a mission to retrieve Kaz from Anhaga. Not all is as it seems and soon secrets come to light about who exactly Kaz is but the biggest bombshell comes near the end.

I hated Kaz’s grandfather. He was a disgusting piece of crap that I so wanted to hurt. His forcing his son to marry his nephew was beyond words. I loved that despite Min guarding his feelings he went and tried to rescue Kaz after he returned him.

This was such a magical journey with plenty of tense situations and action. The chemistry between Kaz and Min was off the charts. Kaz’s abilities took me by surprise as well his other surprises.

Well written and brilliantly told this story captivates you from start to finish as it weaves it’s spell around you.

I loved it. Fantastic read.

Derek never wished to inherit his title as a result of a bloody battle. With the old count dead and the truce dependent on his marriage to the rival duke’s son, Derek has no choice but to agree to the victor’s terms in order to bring peace to his homeland. When he learns of the sinister rumors surrounding his intended groom, Derek begins to have doubts—but there can be no turning back from saying I do.

After the death of his wife, Callan of Mulberny never expected to be forced into another political marriage—especially not to someone like the new Count of Camria. Seemingly soft and meek, it’s only fitting that Derek’s family crest is a flighty sparrow, worthy of nothing but contempt.

Another war with the seafaring people of the Outer Isles looms on the horizon, and the reluctant newlyweds must team together to protect those caught in the circle of violence. Derek and Callan slowly learn to let go of their prejudices, but as they find themselves enmeshed in intrigue fueled by dark secrets and revenge, their tentative bond is all that keeps their world—and their lives—from plunging into chaos.

Warning: Depictions of violence, battle scenes, physical injuries, mentions of torture, allusions to domestic abuse, dealing with grief, death of secondary characters.

Blurb: The END is NEAR!

The Fae must be defeated if Brandr and Logan hope to find their happily ever after. Only by working together will have any chance of Mending the Rift and saving humanity.

The end would be upon Brandr and his friends soon. The only question, would Brandr be able to find his fated one in time? He feared he was too late when he arrived to find the field empty. Then the Veil opens again and hell rains down upon him as the Unseelie pets attack. But when Brandr was too injured to move, the Druid he was destined to claim as his own flees in terror. Talk about demoralizing.

That did not happen. Not even in some weird fantasy could Logan have imagined that a dead man could come back to life. And he had definitely been dead, since Logan had to put his head back on his body. But when he was faced with the truth, that the man was immortal, Logan has to admit to being…intrigued.

But as Samhain draws closer, the danger around them increases as the Fae converge. The Fae must be defeated if Brandr and Logan hope to find their happily ever after. Only by working together will have any chance of Mending the Rift and saving humanity.

Review: This story was so good with the addition of Logan and the new kids. I loved Brandt and Logan together. Logan’s power was off the charts and very much needed in this addition. As with the others in the series you get a well written beautiful story about druid’s needing to stop the fae from coming through a rift and taking over. There were heart stopping moments that had me on the edge of my seat.

A lot happens throughout. There are twists and turns that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am sad this is the last book. I wanted more about Fen considering Aed cursed him as well. Even though he helped the vikings he was more in the background. I wanted to know how he escaped the fae. Is there a love interest for him, as eternity is a long time to spend alone and Aed never said in the curse he could not find someone for him.

I loved the entire series. Each druid possess a unique ability that will help mend the rift. But Logan was the last one needed to accomplish this. A Fantastic end to an amazing series.

Highly recommended.

Review: His Fairy Prince is the second book in JS Harker’s Tit for Tat series, which is also part of the Dreamspun Beyond house line.

I make no secret how much I enjoy both Dreamspun Desires and Dreamspun Beyond. I really like the type of romances that come out these house lines and I like the fact that they following them, I get to read different authors, and in books such as these, I get to follow ongoing series. To me it’s all a win.

JS Harker is an author that I only discovered through Dreamspun Beyond, although not overly familiar with other works, I know I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read so far. Being that this is the second book in the series, I have vague recollections of book 1, it doesn’t stick out as a book that I disliked. So really, I don’t have strong feelings either way where the book or the author are concerned.
Although this is a second book in the series, this is also a standalone book. The link between the stories is more to do with the ideas rather than any personal connections between the characters. The main gist of being a college student, during a holiday that he absolutely adores, encounters a paranormal being who turns out to be his perfect match. That’s really it in a nut shell, but it’s a fun world.

In this book we meet Greg, who loves Halloween and is a bit of a nerd who also loves a bit of live action role playing. He and his friends attend a sort of fun house type set up which has different rooms and scenarios to play along. Greg’s excited because he snagged the witchcraft room, only to be disappointed because his friends (who seem really flaky and false towards him) prefer to go to the slasher scenario room.

When Alaric, who runs the place, sees Greg on the security feed he is instantly infatuated. He’s a bit miffed at Greg’s friends and decides to make an encounter with the young man. Greg isn’t interested in a random, meaningless hook up, and Alaric must concede. However, things take a strange turn when Greg, who is out on his own, opens the portal that takes him to plane of existence where Alaric comes from. A place where Alaric also happens to be a prince.

As soon as he realised what has happened, Alaric follows Greg and the two men are on a journey to get Greg back home. Alaric also finds himself being tested by the magic of his homeland, to determine whether he worthy and ready to rule. The only question is, are these quests enough to bring the two men together for a HEA, or will Greg decide to go back home to mortal realm?

What I love the most about this journey is that it’s a bit like Alice going down the rabbit hole and a little bit like a labyrinth. Greg is learning new things about a world he had only dreamed about in his wildest dreams, while learning more about Alaric. Alaric is also on his own journey of discovery.

Review: This was an awesome story of epic proportions. Where being in good with GOD will give you everything you ever wanted and more. But all is not what it seems and many atrocities are taking place as those seen as lesser and labeled as sinners, orphans, and many other terms are rounded up and taken away.

As with any society where there are those that feel injustice or unfairness is at play a revolution will sometimes occur to set things right. This is what happens in this story. Many different MC’s play a significant role throughout. Too many to name in this review. We have plenty of different POV’s to understand where each is coming from and how they feel. Needless to say the road they travel is not without danger and not everyone will make it out alive at the end.

This story does contain at least one rape scene and many other brutal atrocities that take place in the name of GOD. I loved the story despite this and was riveted to my seat until the end.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Review: This is a spin off to the Harker’s Pack series. I read those books years ago and forget them.

A lot of information regarding the characters from those books take up a lot of room in the beginning. There was so much I felt bogged down at times. But then it levels off and we get to Jazz and Dash’s story which I liked but felt it was too fast paced at times and sometimes there were things that did not make sense.

Never the less this story, when it gets going, is intriguing and I enjoyed the plot and the new characters introduced. Jazz’s power was interesting and the way it played out was entertaining. The mystery was well written with a side of danger.

Overall it was a good read that I enjoyed.

Blurb: Mingus had one true love in life, animals. None of them were off the list, although, if he were completely honest, his favorite was his cat, Pretty Baby. He never imagined one day he might have to put someone else first. Not just anyone, but the man who has stolen his heart.

For centuries Oluf has dreamed of finding the one destined to be his. He’d even anticipated the need to woo him by becoming a chef. After all, according to his mother, the way to a man’s heart was through his stomach. What he hadn’t expected was that he would come in second to a cat with sharp claws, who seemed to enjoy using people as her personal scratching post.

As Mingus, Oluf, and their friends get closer to Samhain, the Fae will try to stop them using everything at their disposal. It means finding a way to work together, even if it takes shedding a few Tears of Life to do so. But in the end, will the fate of the human world come down to a cat?.

ISBN: B07Z427WC5

Product Link: Amazon US | Amazon UK

Reviewer: Shorty

Review: I loved Mingus and Oluf’s story. A lot takes place in this exciting addition as the group once again begin to make plans for the ritual. I was impressed by Mingus and was awed when his ability made itself known in a huge way. Mingus’ cats story was so sad it brought tears to my eyes.

The Unseelie and Seelie both made it known what they wanted in different ways. But it was the near the end that both broke my heart and angered me at what happened to Kyleigh and what of Fin. I hope to find out more about them in the next book and to see all eight druid’s in action.

These books must be read in order to enjoy them fully as each picks up where the last leaves off. I highly recommend this intriguing series with it’s colorful characters a well as their unique abilities in each book.

Each story is brought to life with an amazing cast of people as well as an epic plot that has evolved from book one.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Blurb: Who would have thought there was something more horrifying than an indoor boy being forced to live in the Amazon? Yet, there was. In fact, the more descriptive word would be mind-numbingly terrifying. That it was brought into his life by a drop dead gorgeous man claiming he was there to protect Wylie, only made everything that much more surreal.

Since the first druid came into their lives, Fritjof prayed he would never meet the druid that was destined to be his fated love. He knew that emotion would always lead to devastation and heartache. He’d seen it, experienced it, when his mother disowned him for not being able to save his father.

But what happens when the Fae goes after someone they both love? Will they be able to find a way to trust in each other? Are some things impossible to overcome or is it Mind Over Matter?

PLEASE NOTE: Although each book in this series focuses on a different couple, to best enjoy the overall story arc, these books SHOULD be read in order.

Review: In the continuing saga of the viking warrior’s being sent out to protect a prophesied druid from the fae it is Fritjof’s turn to find Wylie. He travels to the Amazon and discovers more than he bargained for. Hell bent on keeping his distance from Wylie all while protecting him becomes impossible.

Wylie is a fierce young man who laughs but yet hides his pain behind said laughs. The two get off to a rocky start as they both try to hide how they really feel for one another. It takes being attacked by Wylie’s niece’ father, a fae and him kidnapping her, for them to realize that they need to own up to their feelings if they have any hope of rescuing Tess.

I loved everything about this story. This series must be read in order as each book picks up where the previous one ends with a new couple in each addition. I’m excited to see what else happens in this thrilling series.

Fantastic read.

Blurb: What lurks in the dark is not always a monster. Sometimes it’s your deepest desire.

Having survived brutal centuries as Dracul’s slave, Dafydd is pulling his life together. He has accepted his role as father to baby Idris and is determined to raise this son without the evil influence of his alien blood. Trauma still affects every aspect of his daily life, however, and he struggles to cope with it in dangerous ways. He also cannot quite shake the appeal of the human doctor who saved his life.

Ric began his journey with the aliens out of medical curiosity. After his adventure in Wales, he can no longer dismiss how it has become personal. He knows Dafydd is not ready for any kind of relationship, but the lure of courting him is something Ric cannot resist.

When a new problem crops up in the Boston crime world, the aliens are forced to explore the possibility that it is more than human-based. Their journey of discovery ropes in both Dafydd and Ric, throwing them together and forcing them to face their attraction and their demons.

Malcolm is along for the ride with Brenin, who, like Dafydd, is dealing with his own PTSD. The four of them must lean on each other to find a way past the lasting damage visited on them by the monster.

Product Link: Pride Publishing | Amazon US | Amazon UK

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Fair warning this book contains scenes of violence, rape, enslavement, torture, forced pregnancy, public sex and prescription drug abuse.

You basically get the lives of four men in this story. Dafydd and Ric as well as Malcolm and Brenin. Dafydd had been held for close to four hundred years by a monster, whereas Brenin had been held for months. Dafydd had also been forced to have babies with the monster. He had even killed one of the twins to save one of the men trying to save them. He had wanted to die but was forced by the doc to survive. He was just now getting around to trying to be a father to his latest baby.

Malcolm knew that Brenin was still having troubles with what had happened. He just didn’t have a clue how to help him. Ric was in the same boat but with Dafydd using pills with alcohol. Neither man knew what to do to help the men they loved.

I don’t really know what it is about these stories that doesn’t do it for me. However if I had to guess it is the dark side to the stories. The BDSM doesn’t bother me too much but I don’t really need it in any of the stories. I think mostly it was the fact that it was about four men instead of just Ric and Dafydd. They seemed to be thrown back for parts of the story. The mates come off shallow and immature when they shouldn’t be. It just made the story a bit harder to get into as it should have.

I hate to admit that the same dark tone is what is making me change my mind with this series. I just can’t seem to connect with them. It was fine to read but I can honestly say that it will only be read once.

Lord Tristram Radcliffe has a secret—he is the only dragon at the king’s court in Llangard. It’s a secret he’s kept from the knights he’s fought beside, from the ladies who bat their lashes at him, and from his closest companion, Prince Reynold. If it were to get out, he’d be banished to the Mawrcraig Mountains along with the rest of his kind, but the kingdom of men is the only one he’s ever known, and his heart lives in the stone halls of those who’d count him an enemy.

When the old king dies and Prince Reynold takes the throne, two visitors from the north throw Tristram into the middle of the ancient conflict between dragons and men. They put him on a collision course with the king’s shadow, Bet Kyston, a dangerous assassin who may want him dead or may want more of Tristram that he’d ever thought to give.

With the eyes of dragons upon him and a threat from the north creeping toward the home he loves, Tristram must weigh his allegiances before his dual legacies tear him apart.

Blurb: Every story has more than one point of view.

As the mate to the Dark Mage Morgorth, Aishe has learned a lot about magick, love, and himself. He tries to find a home with Morgorth, to be accepted into his world; to survive in a world full of magick, treachery and deception. But all the while he struggles to keep a secret about his past and their intertwined destinies. Despite all the obstacles thrown at both of them, Aishe is determined to stay by Morgorth’s side, no matter what the future brings — even if that future turns dark with death should Morgorth embrace his grim destiny.

But when Morgorth leaves with his mentor to collect another stone of power, Aishe is left behind. It is then that a surprise attack comes and Aishe, determined to protect and defend his new home, decides to take the invaders on by himself. It might prove to be too much for him to handle… especially when he learns the one who leads the invaders is a mage.

The third book in the “Stones of Power” series allows us a glimpse inside the mind of Lord Morgorth’s better half, a dialen named Aishe: his motivations, his personal sorrows, and his struggle to find a place to call home.

Review: I loved Aishe’s point of view as some things that happened in book one by Aishe explained. I love Aishe’ determination to stick with Morgorth no matter what. We get an an inside depth of how Aishe feels and thinks.

Like with the other books conflicts arise and Aishe finds himself in the middle of it trying to protect himself, Morgorth and his new home. There was action, adventure and creatures galore in this amazing addition.

Great read.

Review: Declan has a decision to make after being asked to spy on a rebellion group and discovers his friend and secret crush, Trovic, in the group. He begins to question everything he know as well as growing closer to Trovic. I loved this story.

Filled with twists and turns as well as a learning lesson for Declan in a time where magic is considered dangerous and there are those that would kill to get rid of it permanently. I really liked how the story showed the struggles Declan went through as he tried to figure out what was right against what he had been taught.

Declan and Trovic together had a history of secret crushes and growing up in foster care together. Now many years later meeting again on opposing sides they follow their hearts.

Fantastic read.

Blurb: “Renjimantoro.”

Ren’s head snapped up, as Brahms only used his full name when being completely serious.
Those dark blue eyes met his levelly, penetratingly, as if he could see every thought going through Ren’s head. And he likely could. The man was exceptionally good at seeing through people. “Come with me.”

Oh hell. He really had no defenses against that plea. Brahms rarely asked anything of him, and every time he had, it turned out to be for Ren’s own good. “You realize that if I go, your reputation is never going to recover. People assume I’ve seduced you over to my side as it is.”

Brahms just stared at him.

“Right, you don’t care. Of course you don’t, silly me, why am I worrying about it?” Relief filled him, making him a little giddy with it, and he had the strangest urge to giggle. Which wasn’t manly, he stamped that out immediately, but still a grin took over his face. “Alright, alright, I’ll go home with you.”

Not once in the past five years has Castle Warden Sho Renjimantoro regretted following his best friend to Aart. How can he regret it when he finds open acceptance regarding his sexuality from everyone around him (even if they don’t understand it), and he gets to be with the man most important to him?

No, finding someone in this country is a fantasy best forgotten.

General Arman Brahms, finally home from deployment, has waited over two years to show Ren he’s wrong, that fantasies can come true. Unfortunately, his plans get put on hold to help Ren solve the crisis unfolding in the castle.

Someone is doing their level best to make sure the engagement of Prince Charles and Princess Alexandria of Scovia falls through—by fair means or foul. In addition, they’re trying to make Ren deemed incompetent and dismissed from his position. While hunting for the perpetrator, Ren and Arman do everything in their power to protect those they’re sworn to before the irredeemable occurs.

And along the way, prove that even an ordinary life can become extraordinary.

Review: The bulk of the book revolves around Arman and Ren’s developing relationship more than anything else and this disappointed me. I was expecting action and battle scenes instead of a long drawn out book about two men and how they get along.

I liked Ren and Arman. They both were great together however, it seemed as though many things were repeated over and over throughout the story and this aggravated me to the point that I was ready for action and less talking and emotions. The twists and turns were a welcome break from the repetitious feelings and thoughts of the characters.

Overall it was a good story about two men who in the face of prejudice and adversity manage to make it through together.

Good read.

Blurb: Morgorth is considered a villain by his own people and known as the Dark Mage of the North. But now all he feels is light and love as he pursues a budding relationship with Aishe, a dialen of the Ravena tribe. Morgorth hardly believes his good fortune. He has allowed Aishe into his home, into his bed, into his heart. He laughs more, smiles more, and feels happier than he ever has before.

He should have known such bliss never lasts.

Fearful, they send two emissaries to take the stone from Morgorth, using whatever means necessary. This includes tricks, threats to those under his protection, and the threat of war. A war Morgorth knows he would never survive.

Conflict soon arises between him and Aishe. Their tenuous relationship is put into jeopardy, their very beliefs about themselves and their love is put into question. Morgorth doubts if he should keep Aishe in his life. He doesn’t know if he can protect Aishe from his enemies. Or from the monster he might become.

Review: Morgorth and Aishe are settling into their lives together and as such we get to see them in more intimate settings. There were a lot of those scenes throughout. Morgorth finds the council of mages wants the ruby stone he took from the mage in the last book and sends mages to get it by trickery, deception and threats. They also fear what Morgorth will become.

We are introduced to even more conflict in this story as Aishe and Morgorths relationship is tested.

I liked the story but at times I felt conflicted with it. I really liked Aishe and Morgorth together as Aishe seemed to ground Morgorth.

Great addition to the series.

Blurb: Lord Morgorth is a dark mage on the planet Karishian. He’s considered a villain by his peers and relishes the title, having embraced the role early in his life. However, not all of his actions are necessarily villainous.

Despite owning several of the Stones of Power—gemstones infused with powerful magick—he doesn’t use them, preferring to keep them hidden away and out of destructive, power-hungry hands. He hates them more than anything. So when a sorcerer gets a hold of a major stone, Morgorth has no choice but to go after him. But, to his irritation, he is not alone. Aishe is a dialen whose tribe was massacred by the sorcerer, and is now on a mission of vengeance. The attraction is instant between them, but Morgorth keeps his distance. Because of a traumatic childhood and a deadly destiny, he has no desire for emotional complications. But Aishe’s very presence challenges Morgorth’s resolve.

Not only does Morgorth admire Aishe’s strength and intelligence, but he begins to see Aishe as a friend. As their hunt continues and their time together lengthens, their bond deepens, as does Morgorth’s fear. If he becomes the monster that destiny claims he will be, will he hurt Aishe? Will he harm the one person who sees right through him? Who accepts him wholeheartedly? Determined to not let that happen, Morgorth keeps Aishe at a distance. But when Aishe is kidnapped by the sorcerer, what will Morgorth do to get him back?

Review: I really enjoyed this action packed adventure about two men who are on the hunt for a mage who has stolen a stone of power and killed many to get it. Morgorth is a dark mage with an abusive past that owns five stones. He does not use them nut keeps them safe from anyone else using them.

I loved the details of this world. The creatures were terrifying in their descriptions, the people were unique and interesting. Aishe is a Dialen, fierce and proud. I admired his determination in seeing justice done for his tribe.

Morgorth learns much about himself in this story. Aishe was good for him in that he brought out a different side of him that he did not know existed. These two faced many dangers throughout and sometimes ended up hurt. I was curious about when Aishe hinted they had met before but the story did not elaborate when or where.

Great read.
