Review: Aaron and Sam are still struggling two years later after their sub leaves them with no word of why. The two Doms just try to live day to day when one day Sam witnesses a man collapse. He goes to help only to realize the man is badly beaten. He decides to help despite his misgivings.

Tim suffers abuse from his older brothers. He yearns to be loved and love in return when Sam helps him recover he starts having feelings for the two Doms. Through all the ups and downs with these three I felt they would be a good match. However there was so much from side and secondary characters I felt the three men’s story was not quite complete.

Aaron and Sam want to give Tim a chance but struggle because of their past and Tim as sweet as he is wants to help them heal from the pain caused by Seb’s leaving. I truly loved these men who have suffered for different reasons and wanted them to have a life full of happiness.

Great read.

Review: I really did not know what to think about this story as I have a problem with people daring others to mess with other peoples lives. Cort and Jax are both dared by their friends to do different things to however catches their eyes. I did not understand how people could do that to each other.

Nevertheless the love between these men as the story progressed was almost heartbreaking because of the dares.

It was still a really good read with plenty of drama and sexy scenes for all. I loved Cort and Jax together and was cheering them on throughout.

Great read.

When the hottest Dom on two legs begins to work at the club, Bull takes notice of Zander in a big way.

Zander Knight is hired to choreograph and perform nightly shows at Raw Hide, a country/western style BDSM club. Zander has always been attracted to submissive bears but when a special man returns his flirtations, he begins planning out scenes to capture the boss’s heart.

A shy bear of a man and a powerfully magnetic Dom make for great chemistry but when Zander’s past comes back to haunt them, both men are forced to choose. Will the threat of danger tear them apart… or will the bears surrender to love?

Review: Zander is a Dom who puts on shows at the club that Bull runs. Bull is Zander’s boss and secretly he yearns for the man but has no experience in BDSM other than watching the scenes played at. Zander wants Bull and sets plans in motion to draw the sexy bear to him.

Short, sweet and spicy. I loved these two together. The patience Zander showed Bull in the lifestyle by explaining things was great.

Great read.

Blurb: Dr. Ethan Marshall is the young medical student on call the night Tessa Duran murders her husband for abusing her twelve-year-old-son, Rino. Ethan stays in the cubicle while the rape kit is performed and is surprised when the boy resorts to prayers instead of tears.

Despite compelling evidence, Tessa is sent to jail for life. To avoid placing Rino in foster care, their parish priest agrees to raise him. Ethan is touched by Rino’s plight and visits whenever possible, but the connection is broken when the priest and young boy leave the area months later.

Raised by the Dominicans in California, Rino considers joining the order until a romance blossoms with a fellow student. After much soul-searching, he turns his back on everything familiar, and chooses his orientation over his perceived vocation. Upon graduating dental hygiene school, Rino takes a job at the office of Scott Gregory and Robin Kennedy.

Seventeen years have passed since that horrible night in the emergency room. Forty-three-year-old Ethan is now a Dominant in search of a full-time submissive. Twenty-nine-year-old Rino is adrift, longing for someone or something to help him find the serenity he’s lost along the way. Reviewer: Prime

Review: I am going to state this warning up front, this is a very graphic and confronting book in more ways than one. First off, there is the BDSM aspect, which like everything does not appeal to everyone. Secondly, there are some very graphic description (not of the acts) but more so of the horrific outcomes. This book is not for the squeamish and includes prostitution, rape and paedophilia just in the first couple chapters. There are also some traumatic/PTSD later on but nowhere near as horrific as the first few chapters.

Forged in Trust is the fourth book of the Bay Area Professionals. However, it can be read as a standalone book.

The story starts off in the early 90s with Rino and his mother, living in poverty in the Philippines and things were looking worse for them because the US military were evacuating. They do get to the US (under some shady circumstances) and we jumped to when Rino is 13, which is where we first meet twenty-something, idealistic ER doctor, Ethan Marshall. The two form a companionship over a couple months but Rino is really just a traumatised child at this point. Then Rino is taken away, out of state, and we pick up with both Rino once more almost fifteen years later. It’s here that Ethan once again enters his life.

It’s a complicated story and I fear that explaining one thread might give too much away!

I’m pretty sure Tinder and smart phones are referenced at a time when they did not exist, but that is neither here nor there.

The characters are wonderfully developed, although part of me is certain that Rino’s character could have been a bit more given a bit more time. I felt like Rino and Ethan’s story ended a tad too soon because Rino had just gone through a massive personal growth period.

Really well written, fast paced book that is brimming with emotion, I found it impossible not to become engrossed in the story. I really want to read the first three books now.

Blurb: The truth could lead to war.

Henry “Hank” Abraham enjoys being one of the most sought-after personalities in Heaven. Life is good in the floating city for someone born to one of the wealthy and influential Founding Families. Hank parties with the privileged and beds someone different every night, flouting the morality laws that control the lives of the common people on the city’s lower levels. Then someone tries to kill him—repeatedly. Terrorists have Hank in their crosshairs, and his long disinterest in politics has come home to roost.

Ian Caldwell has been a security guard for the Abraham family for years. He survives the hypocrisy by sneaking away to the BDSM clubs on Earth to feed his baser desires. When he’s assigned to protect Hank, Ian pushes his attraction for his client aside. That kind of thing could get him reprogrammed. But he doesn’t count on actually falling for a man who isn’t as shallow and self-absorbed as he seems. Neither of them is prepared for the truth behind the attacks. Their journey will take them from Heaven to hell and beyond… and it might bring the tension between the classes to a violent head at last.

Review: I loved everything about this story. Hank and Ian are basically employee and boss. But they have secretly wanted each other. Due to heaven’s law though they were unable to admit their feelings. We read about these two in Angel 1089. The dynamic between them is hot and steamy. Yet they both want a life where they can live freely.

Deals, uneasy alliances are made when Hank and Ian escape heaven for a while only to have an extremely hard time getting back. I loved the suspense not knowing what the future held for these two. It was a great mix of dynamics as we see how heaven is ruled and how downside is ruled. Fascinating and very detailed I was enthralled from start to finish.

I loved Hank and Ian and was cheering them on. I so wanted to see them be able to live their lives in as much peace as was possible in this world. I loved it.

Fantastic read.

Review: Rec helps Barclay in so many ways. I liked the dynamics of these two characters. One trying to put his life back together while struggling with his physical limitations and self confidence. The other being there for him in every way. Rec was a gentle man with compassion and understanding that did wonders for Barclay.

Barclay struggles with everything he has been through so far. Which I understood. There was a lot of sex in this book which at times was too much because I would have preferred more story. But that’s me.

I did feel like this story was incomplete by the end. Too many unanswered questions that I assume will be addressed in the next book. I would have liked to see more interactions between the gym members in this story given the circumstances.

Other than those things it was a wonderful story that I enjoyed.

When others whisper that the man is hideously deformed, calling him “The Monster”, Dawson remembers the cost of his tuition and puts aside his fears, accompanying the bodyguard to the man’s apartment.

After paying a bitter price when fighting for his country, Cole knows his days of walking among whole men are gone forever… that is until one night he takes a risk that terrifies him. The stunning submissive who’s caught his eye is something extraordinary and Cole decides he must chance everything for one last shot at happiness.

Review: Cole is the owner of Raw Hide, a club where men socialize and meet up to act out their fantasies. Cole secretly yearns for a submissive but due to the scars he obtained while in the military he hides out watching scenes play out. Enter Dawson, cute rent boy looking for a Dom to pay for his service. When Cole invites him up things heat up.

I loved this story. Cole’s scars cause him to be self conscience, which I understood. But hiding in the shadows is no way to live and I was glad he took a chance with Dawson. This story about Dawson and Cole was good. The secondary characters added to the mix as a way to set up future books in the series.

All in all it was an enjoyable read with plenty of sexy times and drama that added character to the story.

Jude has a tender heart. Yet he was born into a criminal empire and groomed from childhood to step into his father’s violent footsteps. To survive, he created a second personality. Ras is everything Jude isn’t—cruel, remorseless, and utterly without fear, as incapable of love as Jude is of malice.

But when Ras meets a ruthless socialite, he begins to feel a strange stirring of emotion, a brush of Jude’s passion against his own dark heart. Meanwhile, Jude finds himself with a knife in his hand, the evil in Ras’s soul bleeding into his own.

As the walls between them crumble, they could lose everything—their lovers, their family, and their hold on the dark city itself.

Coming together could break them…or make them whole.

Review: Rowan gets his dream job at an exclusive BDSM retreat where he is able to put his submissive side to good use helping dominants. Lorcan decides on a long retreat after selling his business.

When Rowan and Lorcan meet the pages do not seem big enough to contain the sparks and passion between these two as they get to know each other better.

I liked the atmosphere of the story and the struggles that the characters are going through as they traverse their new lives. The actual retreat was breathtaking and very isolated. I did notice that this series seems similar to Tales From the edge which was a great series.

Overall this story was a beautiful start to the series. Awesome read.

Review: Aliens have landed on Earth over a thousand years ago and were the ones that created the fable of vampires. Stronger, faster, and of course the drinking of blood is just a bit of what the guys have going for them. I should say they crashed instead of just landed on it, but then again newbies shouldn’t be trusted with something so very much needed as navigation. Alex and his men were now stuck on this blasted planet and needed to work around it. To bad half his crew didn’t agree and seperated. So you have a group that is good and a group that is bad, so very overused I would say.

Quinn had finally came out to his parents and what did his honesty get him, a boot out of his home. He needed food, a place to stay so being a gogo dancer is looking better each time he thinks about it. All looks good till the owner decides he wants him. Which puts him into the site of well you can guess.

First off this book was just way to long to stick with it. To much added story that was not needed. The characters were hard to connect with, well with the exception of our Quinn and Mackie. It starts off like you are in the middle of the story instead of the beginning which didn’t really do it any favor. It took longer to get involved into the story and by the ending I had been wishing I stopped reading. The book was pretty much like so many others out there that there was no fresh idea to it. Aliens who are pretty much vampires who crashed landed in Romania and well it just didn’t work for me.

Then there was the whole hive way of thinking and being led by a queen, no thanks just sounded like a bunch of worker bees. Now the story did have a good plot going on, and the world was different, but it bombed on me with all the extra added crap put into it. I think had it started out a bit different and not coming into feeling like I came into the middle would have been a better deal.

So for this book and possibly the rest of the series, it is not for me. However I will wait to see if book two gets better before totally giving in. Less of the dark tone and more fun is needed.

Review: Each book in the Syn’s Playground collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This is a branch off of the Cedar Falls collection.

When I read book one in the Cedar Falls collection, I knew right then that Shea Balik was going to be one of my top favorite author of all time. The worlds she creates are unique, fresh, tempting, sexy and damn hot. I love how the characters in this one each have a past that is a bit painful, but they seem to never give up in the end.

This story caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I never was one who liked reading about BDSM, but for some reason this author just writes about it in a way that captivates me. Very tasteful and tantilizing is the words I would use I suppose.

Adam was just wanting to make sure he never had to move back home. He was making just enough to pay his rent and maybe eat throughout the week. He was a waiter at Syn’s Playground and actually enjoyed it. He didn’t have the best luck with guys, but damn if the bouncer didn’t do it for him.

Wicked had came close to claiming his sub and even possibly thinking marriage. That is until he walked in on him getting spanked by another Dom. From that point on he decided to never take a sub for more than one night. That is until he sees Adam. Although with his head up his ass, it will take their friends to get his head on right.

I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. Butsy or Adam which is his real name, is probably one of my favorite characters of all time. He is just so damn cute. I would definitely be reading this book more than once. Way to go Shea Balik.

Review: From start to finish this bundle of KC Well’s Learning to Love series is simply a pure joy to read. Each of the three stories get a resounding 5/5 from me! I love the characters and plot and the development of both. I particularly loved how each story, despite the fact each book centred on a different couple, flows on from one to other. The new couple is flawlessly introduced towards the end of the preceding story. It is generally just great seeing how these guys, all uni students living away from their biological families (and have very different family lives), make a new family centred around the first couple of the series: Sean and Michael.

Sean and Michael story is simply cute! It attracts the nerd in me because although I’m not particularly a Mel Brooks fan, I can more than relate to the couple who meet by exchanging lines from the movie Blazing Saddles. The book goes through the whole school year of Sean and Michael’s first year at university. There are ups and downs – there is some funny parts as both Sean and Michael come to terms that they really aren’t straight though their openly gay housemate, Evan, was convinced from the start. I think I have some reservations about what happened between the guys and Evan – I’m not entirely sure it flowed properly – but in the big picture it all works well. Yet, at the same time, pretty sure the story/series could have done well without that particular set of events.

Secondly, we have Evan and Daniel. After the events of the first book Evan is lonely and it is so deeply felt through the words of book. It makes me understand the “particular event” I wasn’t thrilled about above, but I still think that it could have done without it. I hate to say it in these words but Evan is a bit of a queen – but he is totally sweet and understanding and generally wonderful. In short, he is everything that Daniel needs. Daniel has gone through some traumatic experiences in the past and they have reared again once more.

Thirdly, we have Chris and Josh’s story.  Chris first popped up in the series as a villain, but he was a misunderstood villain and has since been taken under Sean and Michael’s wing. In a way, Josh came in as a consequence of what Chris’s initial involvement in the group. Josh was a nurse who got to know the guys after a couple of trips to hospital by Michael and Evan in their respective stories. I have to admit that Chris and Josh dance about each other both figuratively and literally and I will admit that the book seemed rather slow. However, in the end some drama helps to ignite the tension between us. Of all the minor characters, I have to say that Josh’s father, Mark, is a favourite of mine and he really did shine in this book along with his son. I will admit that when things looked at a bit dicey for Josh I shed a couple of tears and it was at this point that Chris really cemented his place in Josh’s life and in my heart as a truly wonderful character.

For the fourth and final story, we get to see all the loose ends tie up and most of the guys graduate from university. There is a lot of drama in the face of a medical scare for Sean. It is simply delightful to see the friends and their families rally around Sean and Michael. However, both Evan and Daniel and Chris and Josh go through their final bit of dramas. It all feels natural and in the end, though I love a good HEA, I was sad to see the guys finish their stories.

Each story gives us a peek at very different situations – death and two different forms of abuse. I loved these books and I cannot think of anyone who would dislike them, but I suppose, if you’re not into reading about guys in university, etc. this isn’t the book for you. But as I said, I think this bundle has something for everyone. All six guys are super relatable and totally wonderful.
