Review: This installment of the Clipped Saga has many twists and turns as well as plenty of action and heart stopping suspense. Throughout this entire series I have been on the edge of my seat. Though I will admit the sex scenes took me by surprise with the pain in them.
Aside from the sometimes brutality that goes on I was entranced by the story. I was drawn in from the beginning of the series to the end. Kinzar, Trey, Kid, Hayde and all their allies fight for their lives as well as humanities against Janka and his crew. The fight scenes were awesome and in great detail.
I have never read a series quite like it before as most dial back the horror and details. Not so in this series. You get a no holds barred story that packs quite a punch and leaves you reeling at times with it’s fast pace and the things that go on.
Even though I did not care for the assault/rape scenes and was squeamish with the sex I still loved the series. If your looking for HEA and sweetness this series is not for you. If you like dark, gritty in your face horrifying with a storyline that is amazing this series is definitely for you.

Review: As with the first book this one is full of fast paced action and twists and turns. Trey goes to hell to find Kid and save him from Vera, his ex. Meanwhile Kinzar is on his own mission to stop a weapon that will destroy humanity and everything else.
I was amazed at how well the story flowed. I was awestruck with the details. The brutality at times had me cringing and thinking how could this be, but it works with this series. There is quite a bit going on throughout as it’s a journey in and of itself.
The story almost seems to take a life of it’s own as it progresses. The dangers that follow are edge of your seat worthy. There is no shortage of villains in this epic series as well as good guys to boot.

Review: Dog Days is a paranormal, shape shifter book set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic future by TA Moore. Sounds like a mouthful, right?
So, I feel like I’ve had my own Mandela moment (bringing the conspiracy theories, I know probably not cool). I say this because I was absolutely convinced that I’ve read TA Moore before and even had another audio. but no, I haven’t. I see no trace of book, audio or even a review I’ve written for TA Moore. Therefore, I went into this one blind and with mixed feelings. This is because I find post-apocalyptic books hit and miss and my enjoyment very much depends on my mood, especially when it isn’t a rose-tinted end of humanity trope. The very nature of the genre also means that romance usually takes a back seat to the crazy shit happening as the world goes to hell. Fair warning, this is for people that like their dystopian futures and the characters dark, unsafe and gritty where survival instincts reign if you hope to survive the day. If you’re looking for something that is primarily romance, this probably isn’t your thing.
Moore has created an intricate world. The start is kind of like The Day After Tomorrow. When storms take over the world and so many millions die, especially the humans because the conditions are hostile and no amount of technology can prepare the populations for this scale of disaster. Danny Fennick, who lives and teaches in Durham, England, is a weredog and decides to go back to the Scottish Highlands where he had grown up as he prepares to live out the storm. However, being a dog when werewolves want to take over is just as dangerous and deadly to him as the storm that killing so many.
Jack, who happens to be Danny’s ex, is the crown prince of his pack. The biggest problem is that his own brother wants him dead and he has been banished from his pack for being gay. Jack is tough and rough, he has to be to not only survive the oncoming wolf winter, but to also survive being banished in this weather. Jack needs to be prepared to do anything to survive because that is what world requires for him.
This is a complex story where the characters come to life in this dark world, they are extremely well fleshed out making it much easier for me to understand their motivations and harshness of the world that they live in. Danny is the most relatable character, he is like the connection to humanity and he is reader’s bridge to understand Jack’s raw instinctive nature.
Derrick McClain did an awesome job of narrating this story. I love his narration and Dog Days is no exception. In the other audio I have narrated by him my collection is four contemporary romances, one light hearted shape shifter romance and this one. I hadn’t known what to expect, especially from a story that is very much in an English setting, but it was amazing. I really loved how he was able to do distinct voices for characters, especially with accents. He also managed to convey the emotions so well.

Review: Vasal has been hunting for the man who killed his family and broke him for many years. Along with that he has been hiding his feelings for his best friend Mason. Mason is the son of the Alpha. He has always felt like he never belonged. He has always loved his best friend Vasal but has buried his feelings for him.
There were a lot of twists and turns throughout the story that had me on the edge of my seat. Vasal and Mason struggled with their feelings for one another as the story progressed. But when the past comes back full force Vassal will do anything to get back the man he loves.
I loved this story full of interesting situations and intense scenes. I did wonder exactly what happened to Vasal and his family years before as we were given glimpses only. Aside form that it was an amazing story.
Dark, mysterious and tense scenes give the reader a wonderfully written story that keeps the attention well to the end and beyond. I am looking forward to the next addition to the series.
Falling for “the other man” in my marriage was never part of the plan. Then again, according to Nicolae Ursache, I am the other man, and human wedding vows don’t apply. Not to werewolves.
Nicolae is a smug, arrogant alpha male stereotype–and I do mean alpha in the literal sense–but when the same people who killed my wife kidnap my teenage daughter, he’s my only chance at getting her back. The fact that Nicolae was my wife’s rightful mate means that we share a mutual interest in bringing Ellie home, but I never could’ve imagined how he planned to do it.
I will do anything to protect my daughter. Even if it means becoming the plaything, or worse, of the man I loathe most.

Review: This was a really awesome story. Jack is a human and after the death of wife he decides him and his daughter need a change of scenery so they move to a place where everything at first glance becomes so much worse than what they left.
Nicolai, the alpha of the Ursache pack, is angry. He is furious with Franchesca for leaving him all those years ago and marrying Jack. He convinces Jack the only way to get back Ellie, his daughter, after she’s kidnapped by her grandparents is to mate with him. There is so much to this story. Twists and turns and revelations come to light that will change more than a few lives.
Intense, passionate, mysterious, suspenseful and highly addictive this story will have you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely loved it and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Review: Scot and Jerry run away from their homes to be together only to get lost and end up at a broken down seemingly deserted motel only to discover three other men, Conner, Vincent and Oliver living there. Jerry is immediately taken with both Vincent and Oliver and seems to slowly pull away from Scot.
Scot, unsure whether to stay or go is fascinated with Conner. Conner is mysterious and sexy. The motel has a magical quality to it that provides the characters with everything they could ever want. All they have to do is stay. But Scot has goals he wants to achieve as so begins the decision of whether to stay or go.
I liked the mysterious quality to the story though it never said one way or another what exactly was going on at the motel or those who were already there. It was almost creepy the way Conner, Oliver and Vincent acted at times. They seemed to be in a dreamlike trance at times.
Aside from that it was a well written story with a lot of hot sex. This is the first book by this author that I have read and I hate to say it probably the last. The blurb made the book sound a bit more interesting but the story itself was just creepy as hell. The tone was dark and twisted with characters that I wouldn’t save if the world was going to hell except for Danny.
Danny had left his home so many years ago and now taught students for a living. He had a nice life even though he was a dog shifter. That was until the storms starting hitting the world and the cold took the lives of those not prepared. He had been born into a wolf pack and had only his mother left there, a mother not worth calling even on a good day. They say that the weather is a prediction of what is to come.
Jack was the crown prince of his pack, but had also been kicked out for being gay by his father. Times were changing and not for the good. He was going to make a new home for himself, but had not expected to find someone he had spent time with living over the wall. To top it off there is murder going around and they needed to find out who was behind it.
I couldn’t get into this book very well. I basically skimmed over parts and it felt like I had not missed a damn thing. This book was not what I had expected and left me more disappointed than anything. I can say that I did not care for Jack and could not connect with any of the characters, although I did like Danny. I am afraid that if this authors other stories are similar to this one then I will probably skip those also. I just could not get interested in this story.
Pixie’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 ½ Hearts
I have to admit that I do disagree with Lisa on this one, I loved it. The dystopian setting as the Earth rebels against humanity is a stunning setting; it adds a more desperate feel to the situation as the town becomes isolated and something is stalking in the shadows.
Jack is a tough bastard, he has no intention of his banishment killing him and as he travels towards England he catches a whiff of a scent he knows well. Danny has a good life among the humans and when the storm hits he has no intention of leaving his new home, and then Jack finds him.
This isn’t a sweet fluffy shifter story, it’s a rough world the shifters live in and it’s a bit complex. As the wolf winter comes to fruition and the shifters plan to bathe in blood something else is lurking in the background, something so dark and twisted that neither humans nor shifters are safe.
I loved this story for the beautiful way that it was executed, it’s darkish and bloody and although Danny and Jack are what I’d loosely call a romantic pair there really isn’t any romance or really a relationship, it just is.
So I’d recommend this to those who love darker paranormal stories, who love the cold winter setting and lurking shadows, who adore gritty stories and happy for now endings.

Review:Disciplined is the 4th episode and finale of Season 3. If you’ve made it this far I would definitely say you are just as hooked and addicted as the rest of us. Nicholas closes out this season with a lot of underlying tension and unanswered questions.
Théoden – The time has come for King Ara to leave and Théoden shows us a new side that he certainly doesn’t show often, if ever. Compassion and loneliness. This will be the first time, in hundreds of years, that Théoden doesn’t have his sire close to him. Luckily, he has a full plate with his new duties as Prince and his sons and grandsons to keep him occupied. It was still a heartfelt moment seeing them off and certainly a side we haven’t seen before from Théoden.
Don’t worry because he also reminds us that he is not a pushover as he doles out punishment when Noel displeases him. One thing I’ve noticed with all the vampires is they don’t hold a grudge against each other, usually. A good blowjob administered by one of his talented sons will put Théoden in a good mood and all seems forgotten. I’ve noticed this with Marco, as well. Noel is usually good at making Marco mad several times throughout the day but give him pleasure and you can find yourself back in his good graces. I’m sure, if needed, they can pull the offence back into their memory just as quickly.
Noel – Noel has come so far in such a short time yet, he still has much to learn. When he makes his wishes known that he doesn’t want to participate in spit-swapping he realizes immediately Théoden’s displeasure. Of course, it’s too late by the time he knows he screwed up and his brothers enjoy teaching him the lesson.
Noel gets to ride along with Marco and Bruce as they fulfill their duties as Generals. When a vampire goes against the decree to embrace a human, Bruce has no leniency towards him and hands out a pretty harsh punishment. Noel not only enjoyed watching how Bruce handled the situation but he was thrilled with the power and respect they were given with their new titles.
As he demonstrates later on a shopping trip with Marco, he is really getting the hang of being in control and taking what he wants. You can’t help but laugh because you have this visual of Marco grinning from ear to ear as he sits back and watches him. He is thrilled to see this new side of Noel emerge and he lets him know he is pleased.
Dante – I’m not sure what to think about Dante. He is agreeing and cooperating with everything Théoden asks of him but is he really embracing his future or just afraid of the outcome if he doesn’t? I think it’s a little of both and time will tell as I’m sure Théoden will set many traps to test his loyalty.
Théoden doesn’t make threats that he doesn’t uphold, and he now has ownership of Dante’s mother. This scares Dante more than any kind of punishment because he knows Théoden wouldn’t hesitate to follow thru with his threats. And, hey…it’s his mama. He wants her safe and protected.
Deacon – From the moment we met Deacon we knew he was plotting something, and has plans to use Théoden to get what he wants. Unfortunately, we are not privy to the details yet so I can only imagine the destruction and mayhem this will cause. Not only do I feel like this is a dumb move on Deacon’s part but I’ve grown rather attached to him and I hate to see him plot against the Prince.
Now that the mating ritual is complete, Deacon introduces Elijah to the other alpha wolves as his mate. Here we meet some new characters who appear to be just as conniving and smart as Deacon. It will be interesting to see if they become friend or foe because as Deacon comes across as being very patient and easygoing…he is anything but. It also appears he has set his plan in motion which adds a new level of intensity to the plot.
Whether it is vampires, dragons, or wolves, we have been ensnared by them and Nicholas’ storytelling ability. As this season comes to a close, Nicholas has left us hanging on every word and craving for more. The New Haven series is full of complex and intricate characters that have many facets making this a very enjoyable and captivating read. These are not standalone episodes as they must be read in order to understand the dynamics in place.
There is hardcore and erotic dialogue that the author makes no apologies for. The sex is explosive and plentiful but that’s not all there is. There is a very intriguing plot that has many twists and turns and if you are so inclined to jump in you will be in for a thrilling ride. This is not a romance, but you will love it just the same. Nicholas is crafty and clever with his storytelling, and he uses it against us, lol, giving him the ability to capture his audience.

Review: I thought Théoden was a badass before, but NOW, he is sadistic badass. Wow, the alphas have come out to play. Whether it was Théoden, Marco, or Deacon, they all had a point to make and god help you if you were on the opposite end of their wrath.
Someone else who is a badass…Dante. Boy, when are you going to learn? He is super mouthy and apparently had not suffered enough to learn his lesson. Théoden has never met a challenge he didn’t win and he was determined to break Dante. You got to give credit to Dante for not going down easily, and I think had Théoden not discovered his weakness, he would still be fighting him. He is one of the characters that I am most eager to see where Nicholas takes him.
Another one not willing to be outdone was Deacon. I think he kind of thought Elijah would have conceded by now but he is just as hardheaded as his master. Because Elijah is Deacon’s mate, he was being very liberal with him but Elijah’s hostility was getting out of hand.
There are three mating rituals to go through before their mating is complete. With each one the bond seems to be forming stronger between them. I am anxious for Elijah to concede because I think he and Deacon will be a really hot couple together. I like Deacon, I like the way he handles those closest to him, but I’m concerned with his intentions to outwit Théoden.
The most important issue right now for Deacon is mating and claiming Elijah. Two wolves together equal HOT and you certainly don’t want to miss this moment. There are many hot scenes to encounter and Théoden has fun with a dragon and his flexible tongue. You definitely don’t want to miss that.
I am so impressed with Nicholas’s creativity and the way he pulls the reader in with each scene he writes. The plot is so thick now with several different entities at play. It doesn’t matter if it is vampires, dragons, or werewolves taking over the plot. Every character Nicholas has created is addicting and easy to fall in love with. It almost seems the more brutal and sadistic their behavior…the more we love them.
The New Haven Series is compiled of 13 books so far and in no way, shape, or form, are his fans getting bored. Each one just gets better and better and as readers we can’t seem to get enough. The dialogue is fresh and his resourcefulness is brilliant.
If you haven’t tried any of these books by Nicholas Bella, you need to read the warnings, first and foremost, and if you think you can handle it, you need to jump in and take the plunge. Warning…they are addictive. As usual, I will be waiting on pins and needles for the next one.

Review:Branded: Prince of the City, is the first book in Season 3, of Nicholas Bella’s New Haven Series. As the series continues, we the readers, get an inside look at the progression the vampires make adding sons to the family. We also get to see more of Dante, although, he continues to be very adamant in his denial. Noel tries to offer encouragement as well as enlighten him if he continues to defy Théoden. Dante is not at the stage where he wants to hear any of this but time will certainly show he is fighting a losing battle.
Théoden carries through on branding his sons as well as his grandsons with the Prince of the City insignia. Even though it was painful, it was a very proud moment for all the vampires involved. The chosen few will leave with King Ara leaving behind their Sire and brothers at New Haven. Kind of a sad moment as they leave and a new adjustment for Théoden to endure.
Deacon is thrilled that he has found his mate, Elijah, but that situation is also going to take some time. Elijah seems to be making it through the transformation and I can’t wait until the mating ritual takes place. Once it does, Elijah and Deacon will be bonded for life, and I am anxious to see how and if they work together.
Nicholas continues to up the ante with each episode entwining his readers more and more. The sex is as potent as ever and I can’t help but smile as Noel, no longer, has reservations getting his share. He has become quite efficient at giving as well as taking. Something that still surprises him yet no longer questions.
Nicholas brings this episode to an end with a cliffhanger (thanks Nicholas, lol) that will no doubt be huge in the next episode. I can’t wait to see what will happen as Elijah has willingly put himself in a situation he has no way of winning. You have to give credit to the humans who have the courage to stand up to their alphas even though it is in vain. They will all figure that out soon enough.

He wanted to say, “You’ll find love again.” He couldn’t, because he knew he’d really be saying, “Please find love in me.” He thought of saying, “Everything will be alright.” No. He couldn’t make that kind of promise. “It’ll take time,” felt appropriate, and yet, as an immortal, Dedrus never perceived time as a generous gift as much as a twisted, agonizing punishment.
“I wish I could think of something right to say about this,” Dedrus said, “but I can’t. I know how much you loved him, and I know how much he loved you, and I can’t imagine how hard this is going to be for you. But I’m here. As your friend. I don’t know if that means much, but I know the feeling of having something so perfect and wonderful torn from you.”
Kinzer’s gaze met his. His eyes were sad.
Does he know what I’m talking about?
“Tell me you’ve found someone,” Kinzer said.
“Of course,” he lied. “I’m just being overdramatic.”
“I figured as much. Considering where you work, I’m sure you get a lot of offers.”
It was true, but not the way Kinzer was suggesting. There were nights when Treycore dragged some pathetic mortal back to ease Dedrus’s pain. Those nights were the loneliest. Though he could bring himself to climax, it was an empty relief that just stirred the cruel memories of those moments filled with so much more.
Dedrus hugged him again. “Let’s get to bed,” he said. “You need some sleep.”
Kinzer nodded.
“We have plenty to sort through tomorrow. You can have my room. I’ll just sleep here.”
Dedrus released him.
Kinzer picked the sword up off his lap and stood. He reached his hand out. “Come on. It won’t be the first time we’ve shared a bed.”
The upward curl of his lip let Dedrus know that Kinzer was more than interested.
Dedrus’s dick swelled. “I don’t think I can.” He wanted Kinzer so bad, and if he put himself in that position, he was sure that he wouldn’t be able to resist making a move—especially if Kinzer initiated something.
“I’d rather not disrespect you like that,” Dedrus said.
Kinzer’s hand fell, bouncing against his jeans. His head drooped.
“Then I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Dedrus smiled. “‘Night, Kinzer.”
Kinzer knelt, offering a light peck on Dedrus’s lips.
Don’t tease me with a taste!
“Up the stairs, first room on the right.”
Kinzer walked up the stairs, headed down the hall, and slipped into Dedrus’s bedroom.
Dedrus had hoped that Kinzer’s exit would provide some relief.
It didn’t.
He ached for him. His thoughts dwelled on Kinzer’s lips tickling his nipples, his gaze appreciating his body, his tongue delighting in his body’s grooves. He wanted to run upstairs and throw his arms around him, to hold him for the night, and tell him that no matter what happened he’d be there for him. He wanted more than that, but he wouldn’t press his friend. He wouldn’t dare cross that line…even if Kinzer insisted.
Spreading his limbs across the couch, he rested his head on a lace pillow at the end and rolled so that he was facing the cushions.
He closed his eyes.
A few moments passed before something pressed against his ass.
He flipped over and hopped to his feet, ready for a fight.
Kinzer stood before him, holding his hands out, as if showing a cop that he was unarmed. “Whoa, cowboy. Chill the fuck out.”
“Sorry.” Every hair on Dedrus’s immortal body stood on end. “You freaked the shit out of me. Did you need something? Another cover? Pillows?”
Kinzer wiggled his thumb behind the waistband in Dedrus’s khakis.
“Yeah. I need something.” He pulled their pelvises together.
His hot breath rushed across Dedrus’s lips, settling in the bristles across his cheeks. The warmth combined with a rush of blood that surged to his face and made him feel like his cheeks were about to catch on fire.
Kinzer pressed his lips against Dedrus’s.
Amidst the creases in Kinzer’s lips, Dedrus felt the smooth, subtle dip where Kinzer’s cut was healing.
He trailed his palm over the rough fabric of Kinzer’s polo. As he reached the smooth flesh of his neck, curly black hairs pricked his fingertips.
Kinzer opened his mouth wide. Dedrus eagerly reciprocated, tilting his head and allowing their lips to seal together. A swirling sensation gathered at the back of his spine and rushed to the crown of his skull.
Guilt nagged at his thoughts. He couldn’t do this. Kinzer didn’t really want him. He was just vulnerable and ached for a physical distraction from his grief. It would be wrong to take advantage while he was still recovering from Janka’s death.
Kinzer’s tongue flicked his.
He wanted Kinzer so bad, but not like that. Pressing his hand against the dip between the bulbous, jagged pecs before him, he broke their sealed kiss.
“What?” Kinzer rested his hands on either of Dedrus’s hips.
“This wouldn’t be right. I don’t want to disrespect you.”
“I know. But I want you to.”
Kinzer wrapped both arms around Dedrus. Spinning them around, he pushed Dedrus back against a painting that hung from the wall.
Kinzer’s eyes glistened with that gleam—the one that was so familiar to Dedrus.
Dedrus couldn’t control himself. His lips returned to their passionate embrace. His fingers found their way under Kinzer’s shirt, feeling about fervently, savoring the dips in his torso.

Review: Kinzer awakes to find himself chained in the mortal world, his wings removed and his lover dead and his only hope is to escape and warn Satan’s allies that a mole has leaked their location to The Raze. Kid lived on the street after running away from an abusive home life and then was taken off the streets and plunged into the world of sex trafficking, the only thing he dreams of now is freedom. The two are thrown together as they make an escape and Kid is thrown into a war between God and Satan.
This is a very dark erotic story that throws good and evil on its head. God wants to destroy the world, a world he created for his lover Satan, because Satan left him and now it is up to Satan and his followers to stop the destruction of humanity. The Raze is a group of Fallen angels who are trying to get back into God’s good graces and to do that they are planning the destruction of humanity. Kinzer is one of the Fallen sent in to spy on the Raze for Satan, but when he and his lover are discovered Kinzer has to turn to the angel who once broke his heart.
This is a great storyline that has good and evil, danger and escapes, blood and violence and pain filled sex, and terrible betrayal. It is darkly erotic and weaves a tale that is dark from the onset. We meet many characters in this story, some good, some evil and some innocent but all of them know pain in one form or the other whether it is physical pain or emotional pain. This isn’t the story to read if you want happy ever afters or a sweet romance, it’s the story to read when you want dark and dangerous, pain and pleasure jumbled together so it teases the dark reaches of your soul.
Following along after Kinzer or Kid we are plunged into a world where they both have tortured souls, the story pulls around both of them leading you into darker territory and you can’t see any happiness on the horizon. This is a really good storyline that is far from finished, there is nothing that has been resolved except Kinzer discovers the truth of his capture and we are plunged further into the depths of evil that The Raze flourish in.
If you are looking for a blossoming relationship then there are hints of one but it is far from pretty. There was a slight hope of a rekindling romance that started in punishment and violence but the muses deemed it too easy and leave us feeling sore, now there is a glimmer of vengeance on the horizon but stopping The Raze isn’t going to be easy. Now while I did like this story and thought the storyline was good I really did find all the sex to be a bit too violent for my taste, and I mean all the sex, there isn’t one touch that doesn’t lead to pain being mixed in and while I do like a bit of pain tinged sex there was just a bit too much for me to truly enjoy.
I recommend this to those who love dark sex, dark erotica, dark fantasy and violence, betrayal and hopes dashed, a story that pulls you in even as you want to hit the breaks for a bit and a great storyline that is far from over.

Review: When Alec meets Jared, a chain of events begins that brings heartache and horror into his world. Alec is dragged from his safe world when a secret from his mother’s past comes calling, and that secret is determined to get what he wants. As his friends and family are brutally attacked Alec struggles with what is happening and even as he gets close to Jared he still finds it hard to accept the fanciful truth that Jared tells him, but Alec will have to face the truth and trust Jared if he is to beat the evil that stalks him.
This is a brilliant paranormal horror story that has pretty graphic details and a wonderful storyline. Jared discovered first-hand what Alec faces and is hoping to help Alec before tragedy strikes, but he wants more than to be just friends. Alec doesn’t know what to believe but he can’t keep away from Jared, now they face a danger that comes from the past, a past that his mother has kept well hidden. The police are looking into the disappearances of numerous people and brutal killings and there is a link to a body missing from the morgue…. and Alec, but there is no way the police would ever believe the truth even if Alec did know what was going on.
I really enjoyed this story; it called to that part of me that enjoys horror and gore. This brilliant storyline starts as boy gets set up with boy and hits it off, it then quickly moves on with the danger and horror seeping in and we discover secrets of the past. There’s a whole host of characters who are involved in this story and all their parts are important and whose point of view we also see the story from, we have Ilene (Alec’s mother) who made a mistake that now haunts her, we have Lucy (Alec’s sister) who is dragged into the horror along with her boyfriend Rene. Then we have the police detectives who are trying to piece together the clues in their cases where Alec’s name keeps cropping up.
This story is so far from your typical werewolf story. In fact, if you are looking for a sweet fluffy read with wolves finding mates and living happily ever after, after a bit of angst and conflict then don’t even think of picking up this book. But if you want something that’s dark and dangerous with bloodshed and horror then this story is a must.
I loved how this story was written, you get pulled into the story from the first pages, and it makes you keep turning the pages even when you know something horrific is coming. We see an astonishing amount of emotions in this story with guilt, fear, anger, horror, grief and heartbreak being the main contenders, we do see some happiness but not much as events seem to steamroll out of control.
The werewolf in this story is the stuff of nightmares, returning to the original folklore of them in the past where they were true monsters. This story is a part of something bigger, as you learn throughout the book, and even as they have a semblance of a happy ending you know it is far from over for them all.
I have to recommend this to those that love horror, dark paranormal, a brilliant storyline, great characters, a love that evolves even with danger and horror raining down, and an ending that makes you wonder that comes next.

Review: Okay! I have developed a passion for tentacles, there’s no other explanation for it.
This story is a mix between erotic, fantasy, horror, and damn tentacles. Nope, I don’t put them in the same shelf as horror; they have earned a shelf of their own.
This world has the classic Upper Town-Lower Town theme, Aurelia as the case might be. The Upper Aurelians are the elite and the Lower Aurelians the sewer rats, the slum, the working force, forced to degradation and death from things easily amenable if only you had the money for.
And in one such predicament, we find Eli, who has been working the mines, double shift since he was thirteen years old, trying to keep his six siblings barely alive, and his mother on the threshold between life and death. When an earthquake hit at the time, he was deep under earth Eli realizes that he’ll either die or he’ll call upon a dark creature, Eramus, to help him. And help him he does. Eramus awakens Eli’s inner magic and help him use it, controlling the earthquake and eventually subduing it. Consequently grating Eli his life, that of the other miners and a visit from the Academy of Magic’s professor with a scholarship for Eli and a new take on life.
But you know what they say; everything comes with a price…
This story was a beautiful mix of fantasy and darkness. There are many non-con scenes here and we see Eli suffer before he succumbs entirely to darkness. I loved Eramus. This creature had me inhaling the words from the text with a strange ferocity. I wish there was more on Eramus, hell I want a whole series with Eramus throughout the centuries; I’m an Eramus’ fan!
And after stating that I’ll have to go over my slight disappointment over the ending. I seem to encounter that frequently lately. For some reason, while the entire read had me on my toes and I was fairly submerged into the story, the end itself felt unsatisfying. You see the amount of blood, hell there was no blood there at all if you really think about it, didn’t went hand in hand with the things done to Eli and/or Eramus’ nature. I expected and bit more violence after all that our character suffered; it just didn’t feel as revenge was properly taken.
Overall, though, a great story strongly recommended to fans of tentacles. J

Review: Jake is still dealing with the death of his lover and returns to his hometown to escape the memories of his lost love, but returning to his mothers has old memories of an abusive father which Jake finds equally hard to deal with. With warring memories, which Jake needs to let go of, he is pulled into a nightmare when people are being brutally murdered and he meets an attractive cop Kris. Kris is attracted to Jake when he meets the out-of-town cop and they are on the cusp of something special when Jake begins to make wild assertions about the murderer. Kris and Jake must work together to remove the threat from the community, but with Kris’ doubts about the murderers identity will they really be strong enough to combat an evil that is centuries old?
This is a pretty good dark paranormal/horror story that draws us back to the old style evil vampires, with a budding romance thrown in. Jake lost his lover to cancer seven months ago and can’t escape the memories. He takes time off work, as a cop to return to his mom’s to heal. Jake also has to face the memories of his past as his father’s abuse still haunts him, but something more important crops up when he notices odd behavior and he links it to the murders in town. Kris is the low man at the police station, he is gay and has to keep it hidden in a small town, when he meets Jake he is attracted to him, and they hit it off. Kris has to trust Jake when the sheriff calls for his arrest, but he finds it hard to believe that something evil is hunting in his town.
This story follows Jake as he returns to his hometown, it is mainly from Jake’s perspective but we also see it from others perspectives at pivotal moments, it doesn’t affect the flow of the story and gives us better insight into what is going on. Jake is weighed down by memories but is trying to deal with them all, laying his past to rest in his old childhood home is hard to do though, and he gets caught up in his new friends rather than spend time with his mother. When he and Kris meet the attraction Jake feels overwhelms him a little, but we see a relationship begin to develop that Jake isn’t sure he really wants so soon after the death of his partner. Kris is a really nice character and he seems to suit Jake quite well.
The horror/dark paranormal side of the story is nicely done, we are treated to a couple of spine tingles as the dark evil plagues the town and no one has a clue what is happening. There was the usual disbelief even when the truth smacked some characters in the faces, and there was a fantastic showdown that had me wondering if one of them wouldn’t make it. The vampire aspect was very old world type, dark and evil, leaving a bloody path behind him, turning those who are useful, and fully enjoying the carnage he leaves behind. Between that and Kris and Jake’s relationship I quite enjoyed this story but felt that it was bogged down by some details (Jake’s non-dealings with memories of his father) that don’t get addressed or dealt with.
I recommend this to those who love dark fantasy, horror, new beginnings and new relationships, hot sex, bloody deaths, saving a town from dark danger and a sweet and sexy ending.

you’ve made it this far I would definitely say you are just as hooked and addicted as the rest of us. Nicholas closes out this season with a lot of underlying tension and unanswered questions.
Whether it is vampires, dragons, or wolves, we have been ensnared by them and Nicholas’ storytelling ability. As this season comes to a close, Nicholas has left us hanging on every word and craving for more. The New Haven series is full of complex and intricate characters that have many facets making this a very enjoyable and captivating read. These are not standalone episodes as they must be read in order to understand the dynamics in place.
