Off World

What really brought Taine to that backwater little world? Taine’s a hunter. He’s a red-skinned, black-eyed Lowman by nature, and a hunter by trade. Some hunters work in flesh, others in secrets, and some few work to set right what’s been set wrong. It’s a big galaxy and there’s always plenty of work for a hunter like Taine, so you got to wonder, what with all that at his feet, what really brought Taine to that backwater little world?

Off-World is a M/M science fiction action/adventure set in F/M dominated space. The story takes place in an arm of the galaxy where slavery (sexual and otherwise) is legal and commonplace. Strictly speaking, it is not a BDSM novel in that consent is not a matter of concern for the characters, but those with an interest in BDSM should enjoy the story. Due to explicit content, Off-World is not recommended to readers under eighteen years of age.

Things are heating up in Stonebridge, Connecticut, as a series of deadly fires puts the community on edge and eventually threatens Sam’s comatose brother. When Sam encounters the main suspect, seventeen-year-old orphan Damon Blake, he’s not sure what to do. Obstruction might land him in jail, but he is increasingly skeptical of Damon’s guilt. He takes matters into his own hands and investigates, but doing so means keeping Damon’s whereabouts a secret from Nathan and the police. Meanwhile, Nathan wonders what Sam is hiding and grapples with insecurities of his own.

Review: Inner Sanctum is book 2 of Maggie Kavanagh’s series The Stonebridge Mysteries. If you have not read Double Indemnity I highly recommend reading it first so that you can understand much of the overarching plot and the all too important background on MCs Nathan and Sam.

First off, I need to say this is a wonderful continuation for couple Sam and Nathan. I love the fact that their relationship is not dictated by some sort of insta-look. Considering the events of the previous book, they have taken their time when it comes to being boyfriends and merging their lives together. That is one reason why this book is a joy to read.

Then there is Sam’s eternal optimism in the face of darkness and all the horrible crime that happens in the world around him. He is a sweet and honest man who wants to believe the best in people. But he is also very methodical and logical which is probably a part of his character being a journalist, or at least a successful blogger.

There isn’t a lot of Nathan featured heavily in this book but when he does he steals the spotlight. He has come a long way from where he left off in Double Indemnity and he seems real settled in his new-found love with Sam. He also steps in as the big, bad FBI agent we have come to know and love.

I loved every bit of this. I loved minor characters including Sam’s friends, Yuri and Michael, as well as troubled teen, Damon (I would really love to know more about his boyfriend). They were wonderful. Then there was also Nathan’s friend/colleague, Tony, who seems to have a lot going on behind the scenes. I would say of all the minor characters, Tony and Damon are the two that intrigue me the most.
I wasn’t expecting what happened in the last quarter of the book but

I loved every minute of the wonderfully written rollercoaster. Then after all the action we have a final bit of progression for the relationship between Sam and Nathan before we are left hanging (though it’s not a cliff hanger, I just can’t get enough of these guys).

And OMG – give me the next installment – stat!

Blurb: Garrett Bowman is shocked that fate has brought him to a family who can sign. He’s spent much of his life on the outside looking in, even within his biological family, and to be accepted and employed is more than he could have hoped for.

With Connor, who’s included him in his family, Garrett has found a true friend, but with the distant Brit Wilson Haskins, Garrett may have found something more. In no time, Garrett gets under Wilson’s skin and finds his way into Wilson’s heart, and over shared turbulent family histories, Wilson and Garrett form a strong bond.

Wilson’s especially impressed with the way Garrett’s so helpful to Janey, Connor and Dan’s daughter, who is also deaf. When Wilson’s past shows up in the form of his brother Reggie, bringing unscrupulous people to whom Reggie owes money, life begins to unravel. These thugs don’t care how they get their money, what they have to do, or who they might hurt.

Without the strength of love and the bonds of family and friends, Garrett and Wilson could pay the ultimate price.

Review: Garrett Bowman is lost, alone and adrift. Looking for work, he winds up at the farm where Connor runs his woodwork business. Garrett was born deaf and rarely meets people who sign, so he’s equal parts elated and shocked to learn that Connor and his nuclear family all sign. Not only that, they accept Garrett into the fold straight away, give him a job, a home and a purpose.

Wilson Haskins is the temperamental butler that works for Connor and his family. He and Garrett share an instant connection. They are drawn to each other like moths to a flame. But Wilson is used to being guarded, reclusive and alone. The more time he spends with Garrett, the better he gets to know the troubled young man, the more he wants… more. But life has a way of getting in the way when happiness knocks on your door. Trouble usually isn’t far behind.

Garrett is a fantastic addition to this family. He was born deaf and has always felt like an outsider, so it was nice to see how Dan, Conner, Wilson and the kids accepted him into their lives without a second glance. What he lost with the one sense he makes up for in spades with the remaining ones. And then there is the long-suffering butler that seems content to be alone for the rest of his life. Some sort of penance he thinks he deserves. Once Garrett gets under his skin, he’ll stop at nothing to hold onto his second chance at happiness.

The Senses series is not only one of my favorite Grey series; it’s one of my favorite MM series. I love how all the characters connect in some way and how Grey takes individuals that have been classified as damaged or broken by society, and gives them hope, love and a family. While this story focuses mostly on Garrett and Wilson, their backgrounds and troubles slowly unfolding across every page, you also get to spend time with Dan, Connor and their brood of “throw away children” that they’ve adopted.

This is a wonderfully, passionate love story with a bite. Sometimes you have to reevaluate your priorities and fight for what you want, what you deserve. This is also the fifth book in a series and while it can be read as a stand-alone story, I would suggest at least reading book 4 so you have the full story for Dan, Connor and the kids and can follow along at the right pace.

WARNING: This book contains homosexual relations and crude language. A sneak peek at book 2 follows the ending!

Former Navy SEAL Axel Blaze lives a solitary life. He doesn’t do emotions, and he doesn’t do babysitting. Used to being on his own, his job consists of Wetwork (a charming term coined by the KGB) for his former Master Chief, Mac. When an out-of-the-ordinary job lands on his doorstep, Axel heads down a path that includes a famous heavy metal rock band and one quiet, vulnerable, guitar-shredding virtuoso named Gareth Wolf.

Gareth Wolf’s life changed in an instant when a car he was a passenger in crashed, hurting his brother’s best friend and the band’s lead guitarist. They created the band, Skull Blasters, as kids. Gareth had always been happy in the background, playing roadie. With the lead guitarist’s injury, Gareth is suddenly thrust into the limelight and into a frenzied life he never imagined for himself. Finally fed up with living a lie, Gareth comes out as gay in a newspaper interview and finds himself in the bulls-eye of a crazed stalker. Somebody wants Gareth hurt – or worse – and Mac has been hired to be sure that doesn’t happen. Babysitting duty is NOT Axel’s strong suit, but Mac won’t be budged.

Enter Axel Blaze.

Against his better judgment, the big man takes the job to protect the shy musician. The more time he spends with Gareth Wolf, the more he admires the man. Where’s a simple assassination when you need one? The situation becomes more volatile for each man as the attempts on Gareth escalate just as Axel finds himself falling for the quiet lead guitarist.

Strong, funny, smart-ass — and kinda sweet Axel is everything Gareth has ever wanted in a man. Too bad he’s off limits. As the stalker grows bolder, Gareth and Axel move closer emotionally – but is it too late? All Axel knows is that they don’t stand a chance if he can’t find the maniac trying to kill the man he’s come to care about. A lot.

Everyone knows that relationships that begin in pressured or volatile situations eventually fizzle out.

Or do they?

Why would anyone think three was a crowd?

No. No. No. No. No.

Three is a triangle…

and did you know it’s the strongest geometrical shape?

All the best things come in threes…

Musketeers, primary colors, three-ringed circuses, stooges, blind mice, little pigs. The list goes on.

Of course they say trouble comes in three too…

but we won’t go there… or will we?

**giggle** There’s three sheets to the wind.

And **sigh… drool** there’s three piece suits.

And trust us, it’s no coincidence that there are three ingredients in a BLT.

Or only three elements to the game Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Want to get physical???

Well, there’s… three-legged races… (what were you thinking?)

Political? Of the people, by the people, for the people.

Or creepy? Hear no evil. Speak no evil. See no evil.

Why, three has so much going for it we don’t even need to mention a…

1…………          2…………          3………… sandwich

(substitute your own dream guys)

And of course, there’s: On your Mark. Get Set. And Go!

So Go! Read the short stories in…

Blurb: Will Tanner realize he’s wrong and claim his mate before Finley’s devotion is gone?

Finley Cooper is tired of waiting for his destined mate to be ready to claim him. In deference to human laws, he’s already agreed to wait until he’s eighteen. But now his birthday has come and gone—and his mate has a new set of excuses. Finley doesn’t understand it any more than his wolf does, and he’s beginning to wonder if fate made a mistake.

Tanner Pearce wants nothing more than to claim his mate, but he worries that Finley is too young. Tanner will never forget what happened when his best friend mated at Finley’s age, only to have that mate end up feeling trapped and breaking their bond. While rare, it can happen, and the fallout Tanner witnessed as his best friend tried to deal with the break has haunted him for years.

When Finley finally has enough, he threatens to find someone who will claim him if Tanner doesn’t, and Tanner realizes he needs to come to terms with his fears or risk losing his mate forever.

Review: Tanner Pearce is the son of the Alpha wolf, heir apparent and future Alpha. Finding his destined mate should be a cause for celebration. But Tanner is in his twenties and his mate is only sixteen. Tanner never considers not mating with Finley, he just wants his mate to at least be of age and have lived enough life not to have any regrets once they do mate. But young Finley is growing tired of waiting and being pushed away at every turn.

Finley finally reaches a breaking point and flees to his grandparent’s home which is thousands of miles away. Tanner wants to give Finley his space, it’s the reason he has refused to actually mate with his mate these last few years, so Finley could enjoy his youth and be truly ready when they did mate. But now Tanner fears he has driven away his heart, and he’s not quite sure how to get him back.

Fantastic start to a new series! I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Shifter aspects Duncan included in her story, while bringing a few unique ones of her own to the mix, keeping it fresh. There was the right amount of drama and angst in the story without being immature or awkward.

Tanner has his reasons for wanting to wait to complete the mate bond, but he’s not entirely honest with Finley and it could cost him everything. The story flowed well from beginning to end with crests and valleys along the way to keep the reader interested and entertained.

Shifter fans are going to flock to this one of course, but there is so much more to the story. Coming of age, figuring out who you are and your place in life, learning to bend and give, especially when the decisions you make not only affect you, but your partner too.

There’s some sexy time as well, these two wolves are pretty passionate about each other.

And even, dare I say, a bit of romance… Le Sigh.

Blurb: In his role as gamma, Silas Donovan is in charge of his werewolf pack’s safety and wellbeing. Therefore doing a favor involving security for an old friend of his alpha seems like a piece of cake.

The job, however, is being the bodyguard for a male supermodel, Aran Aquino. His fame stems from his extraordinary beauty and grace—and him being an out and proud Asian golden cat shifter. As the old adage goes about two people fighting like cats and dogs, Donovan learns the same is true with cats and wolves. He and Aran have starkly different views when it comes to determining potential threats.

Still, a tropical photo shoot on a private luxury island sounds like a dream come true. But Donovan soon begins to suspect that Aran is indeed in grave danger.

Dealing with the threat would be easier, though, if Aran weren’t Donovan’s mate.

Review: Each book in the Pariah Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. To me there is nothing better than a paranormal romance with two gorgeous men.

Donovan is a gamma wolf who feels better when he is alone. However he also loves his pack and will protect them. He is missing something though. When his alpha asked him to be the bodyguard to a male supermodel he was not sure what to expect. It sure wasn’t the spunky cat that turns out to be his mate.

Aran is a very rare Asian golden cat shifter. He is absolutely gorgeous and has a big heart to boot. He is also very quirky. Asian golden cats are wanted for their parts and makes it very dangerous for him if anyone found out exactly what he was. He has a stalker, not that he quite believes it. So when he finds out that his gorgeous bodyguard is not only his mate but a wolf he is surprised. Then the danger shows to be real and it is up to Donovan to keep his mate safe.

What got my attention with this was the fact that there are a lot of cat versus dog jokes. I spent most of my time laughing at these two. This book just grabs your attention from the moment you start reading and keeps it there till you have read every word. Hell my attention is caught by the cover right off the bat. This book gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more.

I loved this one and cannot wait for the next amazing story. I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: I have read one other book by this author and I am amazed at his gift. I didn’t much care for the prostitution part of the book though. It actually made me not like the book as much. That however is probably the mom in me. However it shows how much love Brent had for his brother.

Brent wanted his brother Zach to have all of the good things he would need to go to school. He was working two jobs to get it all done. The problem was he was selling his body instead of working the bar. Then Dimitri moves in next door and Brent is captivated. However he is afraid that his secret would come out.

What he didn’t know was that Dimitri has his own secrets. Although I have to admit that what I thought Dimitri had done was not what I had expected.

It is a really great book although at points it is a bit confusing. One minute the book is normal, then it skips, then back to normal. Like the part that it skips is something important about the other person.

Although it doesn’t take away from the story at all. I had a blast reading it and look forward to reading some more by this author.

Review: I’m finding it difficult to conjure the words to describe this one. I’m torn in two. I loved the book – hell, I cried on public transport because of this book. Yet, at the same time, there are elements of this book which I found just a tad annoying. The premise of the book is great and how it turns out is certainly different to similar books I’ve read.

First off, though, I am going to put it out there: if you are looking for pure romance this is probably not your book. I think that is why part of why I was a bit disappointed. The blurb was vague (it’s one sentence!) and so where I expected more romance I got hints of connections instead. More to the point, this story is about 3 men connected by dreams, past lives and curses. Most of the story, though, is told from just the one character’s POV.

Regardless, let’s move on to the good stuff.

Steeped in Catholic tradition and set amongst the devoted Irish-Catholics of Boston, there are a lot of elements that have been brought together for this book. It is almost in two parts. The first part is of MCs Brian and Andy growing up. Brian is the character who tells the story for the majority of the book. Interesting but I have to admit that on occasion it did get tedious, especially when it came to the shared dreams.

Yes, each time the dreams were retold there was always a new subtle point added, but to be perfectly honest I don’t have the attention span to reread over something that is basically the same. The problem for me being that the stories lies within these subtle differences.

The second part of the story is Brian and Andy as adults and essentially this is where the story kicks into high gear. Up until this point it was a lot of telling and picking up all the little pieces. Now things are finally coming together. This is where Dr Mark Conno also enters the story.

I won’t go too much into the plot because I enjoyed all the little intricate points that made up the story. Although I have to admit I had it worked out, Brian is just so slow at putting the pieces together. There was an interesting twist for Andy’s character and the appearance of Mark half way through had me confused as to who Brian’s love interest was.

The story is called A Bell for Andy and it really isn’t until the last pages that you finally find out why the book is called what it is. There is a lot of Catholic dogma woven throughout the story. When the romance does come into the story, I’m not entirely sure how to take it.

The primary part of this story is the mystery surrounding shared dreams and coincidences that have brought the characters together at one point in another in their lives. So then when there is romance I felt a bit of spark but for the most part I was diverting me off the track of the mystery.

All in all, though this book has left me with mixed feelings, it is a great book. It is different to many books with a similar premise. I can’t really say it was fun because there was always the mystery, eating at my mind as I was trying to read it to finally find out what the hell was going on.

So I end on the note that this is a thoroughly enjoyable read. If you like a bit of mystery, a good old ghost story and reincarnation this is the book for you.

Lilly Bevin has been in love with the Good twins for years, only to be treated like a child by them. Now twenty-one, Lilly’s ready to spread her wings. Working in the town bar is just one of the ways she’s declaring her independence, dating is the other.

When the twins find out the woman they want is dating a smarmy hustler they try to talk some sense into her, only to be told to butt out. Now it’s up to them to tame their wildcat and bring her into the fold of their love. A wildcat however, has claws and Lilly isn’t shy about using hers to her advantage.

Reader Advisory: This book contains a twincest storyline, sexual intimacy between twins, and may be offensive to some readers. This is a TABOO story.

Review: I am going to be perfectly honest when I say twincest isn’t one of my favorite genres and I only read it by some of my favorite authors. I also don’t love ménage because it seems the female gets all the tension and there is never jealousy when you know there would be strong feelings at times. Well, Carole Lynn has conquered both twincest and a MMF ménage perfectly.

I loved this story. It is full of emotions and the relationship did not start out perfect. There was the jealousy and hard feelings. There was angst. Most of all there were great love that conquered it all.

I absolutely loved Ryker and Ranger and watching their characters grow from the other stories. I loved that Lily was patient it Ranger and showed him that she loved him as well as Ryker and he would always be a part of them.

If you like twincest, ménage, a very good romance, and some very hot sex… not just between two hot men but also with a woman and the ménage scenes were so hot you need a fire extinguisher (or cold shower)!

Blurb: Drakyl Ranch is a multi-book series which is meant to be read in order.

Living in Montana and working the ranch is all Aaron wants to do for the rest of his life. Diagnosed as allergic to the sun thirteen years previous, every day is a struggle to get out of bed. Having to wear long-sleeved shirts, gloves, and even material to cover his face from the effects of the sun, just makes it all worse.

Now, in his thirty-second year, he is sure this will be his last summer. While he hates it, he knows he needs to come to terms with the truth and put things in order for his younger cousins. Before he does so, he heads out for one night of pleasure before facing what’s coming.

Jaret loves excitement and new adventures. For over five hundred years, he has sought them out. In Montana on a whim, he comes across someone he doesn’t expect, someone who makes him feel things he does not understand and does not want to give up. In no time at all, he feels like he cannot live without Aaron.

The only problem is Aaron doesn’t know who he is, what he is, nor that he isn’t going to die. Not on Jaret’s watch. With a plan to help the other man discover who he is in place, he only has one thing to worry about: whether an ancient enemy will come and destroy everything he now holds dear.

Warning: This book is a paranormal m/m romance with some horror elements. It also crosses cowboy and vampire genres. If you don’t think cowboys look hot with fangs, you’re missing out.

Review: Jaret is on the run from some evil Vampyre and lonely for more than a hookup. Aaron has a sun sickness and thinks he is dying, and worries about his young cousins since his Uncle that is raising them is in his 80’s and also dying. These two men meeting is life-changing for them both.

What could be better than vampires? Vampires and cowboys! Discovery is a very intriguing concept. I will warn you there are smelly rotting vampires not sparkly ones, and there is killing both humans and animals for food though it is done as humanely as possible.

Discovery is the set up for the new series, so we meet several characters. There is a bit of history of these Vampyre and Drakyl. There is friendship building and a lot of love and hot man-sex. My only issue was the younger men took this change and finding out what both Aaron their cousin and Jaret is much too calmly. There were no real questions, fear or conflict.

But the story was quite good. It was a fun, entertaining read, and I am ready for more!

If you like vampires, cowboys, mates and some hot man-sex, this is for you!

Review: Terry Bachelder receives a call at 3 am. The call is for his gay men’s group, but is a young person troubled. Sounds like a student. Terry is a closeted teacher in a small very religious town. His Boyfriend, Jack, a closeted lawyer tells, him to hang up.

Terry keeps talking realizing this young man seems suicidal but he doesn’t know what to do. He hasn’t a name or has no idea where this person is or even if it’s for real. Jack warns him not to get involved in any of the kids problems he could go to prison as a sex offender if a parent presses it.

Jonah finds Daniel one of his classmates dead in the church above his apartment. Jonah struggles with his sexuality. Seeing Daniel dead and naked still stirred feelings in him since he had a crush on him. There is one boy is school, Eric that doesn’t hide his sexuality and is picked on daily. Jonah friends him to find out Daniel was gay also and seeing Eric.

Isaac is Daniel’s father and the preacher of the church that is above Jonah’s house. He doesn’t understand why Daniel would kill himself and expose himself as he did. Isaac also is dealing with the fact his wife died when Daniel was very young. She drank and was killed one night while out. He kept this all quiet. Events lead to the outing of Terry the teacher and implicate him in the life and death of Daniel. Isaac is out to destroy him.

This book starts out with bloodshed and anonymous calls. From the first page I was hooked. I think I held my breath the entire three and a half hours it took me to finish. So be prepared to finish when you start. Each page is chilling or sad, or in some cases sweet and loving.

It follows the life of a young boy struggling with his sexuality. The heart breaks he goes through, tragedy, pain and love. It also involves a teacher that is a good person just living his life loving his job and his boyfriend. One tiny little phone call practically destroys his entire life.

Each character is well written and you feel their pain, their agony. The entire story is riveting and a page turner. If you’re looking for a happy ever after or super sweet love story then this isn’t one. I’d suggest you give it a shot anyways.

Real life has pain and suffering. Real life has struggles. Tragedy is out there. I just hope that someone reads this book that has a closed heart or stubborn in their ways and sees how tragic their actions can be. I hope that somehow this book helps to wake up and warm some cold hearts.

It’s a very beautiful yet tragic story. I gasped! I cried! I even shouted out loud a few times. My husband finally said, please stop that you’re scaring me! Just when I thought I had it figured out and I’d be all teared up and turning blue from holding my breath, another twist.

I highly recommend this to anyone that likes something a bit different. A story full of excitement and twists. A good faith-based story, coming out stories, hot gay teachers and lawyers and a sweet love story between adolescents discovering their sexuality .

Don’t forget your Kleenex box.

Only time will tell, and that may be the one thing the lovers don’t have, because someone is out to destroy everything Zeke and Brendon hold dear – and this time, the bad guy just might succeed.

Review: This is the first book in the revised series of the Southern Spirits.

Zeke is a loner who has withdrawn from the world since he was attacked years ago. He is a good, hardworking man who is lonely. But, due to his fear he remains alone. I felt so bad for Zeke. I wanted to hug him and soothe his fear by saying all will be will be well in time. I hated that he suffered in silence not wanting his family to know about the panic attacks.

Brendon is just what Zeke needed to bring him out of his shell. He was determined and always there no matter what and did not let things Zeke said chase him away. I absolutely could not stand Zeke’s sister Eva. She was so full of hate it made me sick. The ghost element was defiantly a good thing in the story. I liked that it was not over done like in some stories I’ve read and had the right balance for this book.

Well written and intriguing this amazing story draws you into the lives of two men who despite the odds fight to be together. It was emotional at times and mysterious at others.

I loved the entire book, but then again I love all of Bailey’s books.

Highly recommended.

Nightmares of Seth’s torture are still haunting his dreams, and if he and Seth are to leave the country quietly and disappear off the mafia’s radar, he needs to stay in charge and keep everyone under control. And as if Domenico didn’t have enough on his plate already, Seth forces him to help some hooker.

Being stuck in the swamp with a kid hunted by a bunch of bikers is not Domenico’s idea of lying low.

WARNING: Adult content. If you are easily offended, this book is not for you.

‘Guns n’ Boys’ is a gritty story of extreme violence, offensive language, abuse, and morally ambiguous protagonists. Behind the morbid facade, there is a splash of inappropriate dark humor, and a love story that will crawl under your skin.

Review: This is the third book in the Guns n’ Boys series. Seth is recovering from his ordeal he went through in the last book. Dominique is still a badass with violent tendencies when the need arises. There is violence in this book so if you’re not interested in that I would advise you not to read this book.

There are some hot sex scenes throughout and I’m sure readers would love them but I still have mixed emotions about this series considering the main characters are related. I liked everything in this book except the intimacy between Seth and Dominique so I skipped those parts after reading the first scene.

All in all it was an o.k. read.

Review: Very interesting book. Shax and Vernin, demons, leave their home planet on a stolen ship. They take on cargo to transport to a buyer. In the process they learn what they are carrying and how much danger they are in from several different groups.

Shax, a demon prince, seemed arrogant at times yet sweet and at other times humorous. I liked the way he thought on his feet when the situation called for it. Vernin, a demon, has been friends with Shax for a long time. He seemed fierce and loyal yet always seemed to be telling Shax not to do something.

This story was adventurous, humorous and filled with danger. I found it quite entertaining all the way through. The cargo was a surprise at what it could be used for. I found myself both laughing at some scenes and holding my breath at others awaiting the outcome.

Can’t wait to read what happens next in this series.
