Blurb: Avery Hextall, a junior architect at a prestigious firm, is thrilled when his design is chosen for a new performing-arts center – even if it means working closely with his insufferably uptight project manager, Malin Lacroix. When a chance encounter in the boss’s office proves that Lacroix is anything but cold, Avery is determined to learn more about the real man beneath the aloof veneer.

Despite their growing attraction and their increasingly kinky encounters, the enigmatic Malin remains as emotionally distant as ever. Worse, Avery’s friends are convinced Malin thinks of Avery as a dirty secret and nothing more – a secret that might destroy both of their careers.

But the real secret is a single moment in time that haunts Malin and keeps him from committing to the life he wants with Avery. In order to move on, Avery must help Malin come to terms with the tragedy in his past before they can work on building a future together.

Review: Let The Wrong Light In is something that I describe as a very niche type of book. It’s definitely not for everyone’s tastes. I must admit though I didn’t love the book there were a of number things that I did like about. I primarily picked this one because I love a good office romance with a bit of kink thrown in, but I also because I’m a massive fan of Gale’s series Scoring Chances. Derrick McClain’s voice to the audio helps a lot as well, not a narrator I’ve heard often but I like his style.

The book is primarily told from the POV of Avery Hextall, he a junior architect at a prestigious firm with a boss (Malin Lacroix) whose reputation has him labeled as a bit of hardass – and all around just difficult to deal with. The problem for Avery is, not only is he angry that his boss does not take his artistically and environmentally mindful designs seriously, but the man is hot and broody. Part of Avery is also sure that Malin Lacroix could handle some of his darker desires. Some people may find it a bit difficult at first, because this does approach the territory of autoerotic asphyxiation and it’s hard not to be concerned about Avery’s safety as he starts on what could be a very dangerous path in what begins out to be a very toxic relationship. However, if you read past all that, I promise you it is worth it.

In my mind there is one down fall of the story. It is certainly the only reason I’m only give this a 3.5/5. Malin is so unlikable and horrible for a majority of the book. I love how he is in the end but I think the problem for me was that there was a distinct lack of glimpses that Malin could be that man it was difficult to come to terms with once I made it to the end of the book. Malin’s development as a character is pivotal to the entire story and I just felt that there was something lacking. However, this is still enjoyable; especially if you like BDSM with a bit more bite than you would normally get in fiction.

Blurb: What Austin Lloyd lacks in academics, he makes up for in his love of the animals who frequent his pet salon. He’s not lucky in romance, though, and his family would like him to settle down with a good man. Austin – and his golden retriever, Maggie – couldn’t agree more.

Evan Partridge isn’t good at letting people in. His messy family life and the past that’s shaped him aren’t worth bringing up. But his pug, Dexter, sure likes the pet salon owner.

Austin and Evan get off to a rough start, but being friends soon turns into something more. Unfortunately, Evan’s secretive behavior nearly does the relationship in, and the budding love affair almost crashes and burns when Evan’s troubled sister shows up on his doorstep.

Not speaking to each other is killing them both, but Evan doesn’t know how to keep Austin and help his sister at the same time. He just knows he has to try. Winning back Austin’s trust back, however, is going to take a whole lot of work.

Review: If you’re into cute romance with a couple of totally cute dogs and their handsome owners, you’re going to totally fall in love with this one. I have to admit that there is only one aspect of the plot which kept me from giving this 5/5, but other than that, I was totally in love and on board with the humans and their dogs.

Austin is a super sweet guy. He owns his own business, a pet grooming salon, but his confidence has been beaten down by the fact that he has never gone to college and that, therefore in the eyes of some family members, makes him a failure. But Austin loves what he does and he loves animals. It is impossible not to love him and his wonderful dog, Maggie. One day, after a long and trying day, Austin meets Evan. Evan is the proud owner of pug puppy Dexter. But because of Austin’s bad day he takes his frustrations out on Evan. Things just don’t go well for Austin as he just seems to keep putting his foot into things where Evan is concerned.

Evan has moved away from home and comes with a lot of emotional baggage. He is skittish as it is, his need to be permanently on hand to look after his sister (who really needs help, that much is clear when she turns up). It is Evan’s actions with his sister that prevented me from giving this a 5/5 – I felt that the actual actions between Evan and his sister were underdeveloped when the emotional side of Evan’s reticence was set up really well from the start. I just felt like there was a lot of mental issues and emotions that were not being dealt with.

Blurb: Politics, puppy dogs, and passion, oh my!

When his Republican opponent outs him with a photo in a Facebook post, Senator Samuel Dalton doesn’t have many options open to him. It doesn’t matter that the photo is totally innocent. He has no choice but to come clean…until his staff suggest putting a spin on it that leaves Sam reeling.

Sure, he’ll end up with a lot of sympathy, not to mention the possibility of more voters from the LGBT community, but it still seems a pretty drastic solution.

Now all they have to do is persuade Gary, the other man in the photo, to play along. It sounds so easy: convince the constituents of North Carolina that he and Sam are engaged.

No big deal, except for the fact that they’ve only just met….

Review: Although I was not entirely familiar with the work of KC Wells before this book, I would say that The Senator’s Secret is a rather cute and fluffy introduction to the author. I love the Dreamspun Desires titles, I love the sloppy romance and the often absurdity of it all. The narration by John Solo was excellent. He is one of my favorite narrators. John Solo brings a lot of heart and emotion to the characters on the page.

This is one of those typical tropes where a relationship is contrived in order to soften the PR blow of a scandal. The scandal itself, is a photo of Senator Samuel Dalton looking intimate (though it was perfectly innocent) with one of his staff members. I’ll be honest, the set up is a tad bit tenuous but if you can get over that you’re in for an enjoyable ride.

The senator in question, Samuel, is a nice guy and totally relatable, for a politician. Likewise, Gary is also a great guy who has a big heart and is really easy to fall in love with as we get to know him through the course of the story. It is quite easy to see why Samuel is quickly finding it hard to remember that their charade as an happily in love engaged couple is just that, a charade.

Blurb: “Sometimes, two people have to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together.” -Colleen Hoover

They came from two completely different lives: Tyler is a werewolf raised in a pack where being gay isn’t an option, and John was trapped in a hopeless marriage as a woman where he wasn’t allowed to transition into himself.

Fate and coincidence bring these two men together, and they feel the connection of kindred spirits. They decide to take a chance on the happiness that they both long for, but happiness never comes easy, and both of them carry heavy baggage and heavier secrets. Review: I really enjoyed this well written story about two people who are drawn together yet each have a huge secret. Tyler is a werewolf. He left his pack due to the fact he’s gay and yet Becky pursued him as a mate relentlessly and would not take no for an answer. So one night he leaves. Now he has a job and is happy though lonely until he meets John.

John is trans. That is the secret he is harbouring. He works at a coffee place where sees Tyler every day. He is shy and scared due to his past abusive relationship until his friends talk him into going out where he sees Tyler and gets up the nerve to approach him.

I really liked how these struggled day to day with their secrets. It made it more realistic. Everything starts going wrong when the spiteful Becky shows up and causes problems in the form of John’s ex Michael. I have to say the thing that floored me in the story and changed my whole outlook on it was when John practically lived with Tyler, slept in the same bed, they held each other and cuddled yet Tyler didn’t notice anything amiss? I did not believe it in the least.

Drama, action, confrontations and love are all throughout.

Review: So far I have loved every book I have read by Jake C. Wallace and this book was most certainly not a disappointment. This book was a fantastic addition to already great books by this author. It has everything a reader could want; romance, danger, mystery, action with quite a few twists and turns throughout for added intrigue.

Jerricho was stuck by tradition and I felt angry on his behalf that he couldn’t marry for love. It broke my heart at some scenes in the book that had to do with kidnapping and what happened to those individuals. I loved Jerry’s character. Rex is a sexy foreman and Jerricho’s boss. These two set the pages on fire with their passion for one another. These two grew so much that I was amazed with them by the end of the book.

It was great being introduced to a character and trying to figure out whether they were friend or foe to Jerricho and Rex. This story will have you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath at times awaiting the outcome. Fantastic and well written.

Absolutely loved this amazing story. Highly recommended.

Randal Tobit has recently taken over his father’s shoe store, On Your Sole, and is trying to make his father proud after his recent divorce from a woman his dad liked. The job is easy, but only because of the man his father hired and will not give Randal permission to fire under any circumstances.

Casey is helpful and happy, bordering on obnoxiously so. He’s a morning person and he loves shoes, which makes him perfect for the store, but not so much for Randal, who prefers to be barefoot when he can’t wear flip flops.

When the store is vandalized and Casey offers his help, Randal makes a bargain with him—one that he probably would have reconsidered if he’d had any idea what Casey actually was…

Review:  Randal is now the proud owner of On Your Sole shoe store, when his father handed it over to him.  He had this feisty and goofy worker that helped him along.  Casey was something else, but Randal had a rule.  No dating employees, but then the store is vandalized.  All Casey wants is one date, and well you will see.

I have been reading a few books by this author and haven’t really cared for them at all.  So when I was handed this book, I was expecting something else.  This one actually was pretty damn good.  Casey is fae and his father is fae king, so there is a bit of surprise inside this book for you that will have you laughing your ass off, or wanting to smack someone.  It is a fun book and I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Having read the story and seen the movies about Dorian Gray I was not sure what to expect with this book. It was thought provoking and intriguing as we learn Liam is the artist that paints the picture that ages. Liam was intriguing yet at times seemed a little to absorbed in his own world which I expected. Upon meeting Gary, someone who I didn’t like to begin with, he insists on painting his portrait.

Gary is what I would call self centered and arrogant. He knows he looks good. When he sells his soul in order to stay young his life takes a downhill turn. Drugs, murder, mayhem and mystery surround Gary as we follow him down his own rabbit hole.

The details of the different scenes throughout were well written and thought out. I felt as though I was actually there witnessing what was happening. The story grabs the reader from the start and does not let go until the very end. It was a fantastic story that I enjoyed very much.

Review: The gang is on a mission to discover the whereabouts of a vicious criminal. In the process of tracking him down we get a glimpse of the characters met and the circumstances in some cases. The nature of the crimes is devious yet brilliant and the culprit came as no shock to me. However his connection to some in the group did.

I was stunned speechless by how well written, intriguing and thoroughly captivating this addition was. The characters were all engaging, determined and hell-bent on finding the man responsible for so much mayhem. The investigation itself and how Blair, Jonas, Declan and Lucas discovered who was behind the acts was mind blowing.

I loved how well these men worked together and protected one another in the face of danger. Chocked full of suspense, mystery, danger and drama this book packed a punch until the very end. I am highly anticipating more in this entertaining and riveting series as I can’t get enough of this series.

I highly recommend this story and series for all to read.

Kaede finds himself dancing around Dark Justice as he digs into his father’s mysterious business and teaches his socially awkward—but physically lethal—bodyguard to acclimate to “normal” life. The course of love—and world domination—never did run smooth.

Review: Kaede Hiyashi is the son of supervillian Doctor Terror. With the numerous enemies the villain has Kaede has been training for all different scenarios when his father assigns him a genetically enhanced bodyguard, Ash Burn. Both of these are by no means perfect and each have their own struggles to deal with but amid all the chaos they lean toward one another.

I loved the fact that just because you were in the superhero category did not necessarily mean you were one. There is battles and death throughout as is expected in this type of book. I found myself enthralled with the twists and turns that emerged in this story as I followed the two men throughout their journey.

The characters in this story were well detailed with a hint of mystery to them that added to their appeal. The overall feel of the book was never knowing what to expect in regards to certain characters like Doctor Terror, Dark Justice and Black Hand. I love when an author takes me by surprise in a story.

Great read.

Review: Overall, I’ve given this story a 4/5 and that is mostly because of the actual story itself. Let me just put it out there: I was not a fan of the narration, it was bland and left a lot to be desired for – I just couldn’t feel that the character’s emotions were adequately conveyed throughout out the book. Although I have no doubt that there is plenty of emotion because I heard the words actually spoken.

The story itself is wonderful and terribly sweet and just has so much potential to pull at your heartstrings. I really do think that if people had issues with the narration reading the story would be a better option because honestly, if I hadn’t been able to finish this audio I would have definitely gone for a copy of the ebook instead.

The story follows Chico and Rafael. Chico, I have to say, is the cause of most of the drama in this book. Which makes sense, the story is from his POV. Chico is down on his luck in life and love but a move to live in the apartment above his cousin’s garage is slowly changing that. I mean slowly because Chico isn’t in a rush to go out and meet new people and neither is he in a rush to improve his situation in general. Chico’s cousin wants Chico to get out of the house and to do so sent him to the local dance school to volunteer for the big upcoming recital, which the whole town seems to get involved with.

This is where Rafael steps in – he comes from a family of famous dancers, he was been a professional dancer before turning towards the family business of teaching. He doesn’t realize that Chico is actually lost and looking for his cousin when Chico stumbles into Rafe’s class. What starts is Rafe’s battle to try and get through Chico’s defences and somehow find something that Chico can lend his skills to.

This is where I think that the narration really lets the story down. Part of the story is the ballet that the school is doing, the Clockwork Dancer. It’s a whimsical story which is woven through the book and is very smartly used to reflect what’s actually going on with Chico and Rafe. Unfortunately, boring narration did not let me feel this connection between the ballet and the story.

Review: Oh wow I loved this book. Action packed, drama driven and two hot as hell ATF Agents with a past history makes this story a hit. Angel has been undercover with a crime boss. His life was hell. When he is extracted by none other than his ex Charles and his team he thinks the worst is over. But Charles can’t forget the past and what Angel did.

In the meantime between hot scenes and all out fighting there is someone trying to get Angel. This person is tormenting Angel to no end…. even resorting to murdering several people. When the person finally gets their hands on Angel the reasoning why is chilling to say the least. This individual is insane in my opinion.

I really enjoyed reading how the team worked together and progressed through the cases they had. It was an enormous undertaking trying to keep Angel safe in the midst of not knowing who to trust and where was safe.

I loved it. Highly recommended.
