Blurb: If Sūnder Alārd was born female he would have been cherished for being faeborn—born with magick—and his birth celebrated. Instead, his L’fÿn mother insisted on his death. Only his Panthrÿn father’s desperate escape through the forest saved him.

With most Chándariāns uneasy in his presence due to rumors he is doomed to become a darksoul, and unlikely to find a mate because of it, Sūnder has nevertheless carved out an honorable existence as a warrior and commander. Serving as a bodyguard and chaperone, Sūnder accompanies the Chándariān prince to the annual mating festival on Earth, and when the prince is injured, he can’t help but be fascinated by the tongue-tied nurse who attends them at the hospital.

At sixteen years of age, Gabriel St. Baptista came home to discover his parents had taken off into space, leaving him behind to look after himself. Gabe never recovered from the unexpected desertion, and keeps everyone at arm’s length to avoid the pain of being abandoned again. However, after meeting Sūnder, Gabe finds himself unable to resist the bond between them and breaks his carefully crafted rules to spend time with the Chándariāns, regardless of the fact that Sūnder will soon leave. Scared by what he feels for Sūnder, Gabe can only hope his heart won’t be too broken when Sūnder returns to Chándaria.

But deceit and treachery surrounds them both, and when Gabe saves Sūnder’s life, it sets off a chain of events that could either tear Gabe and Sūnder apart… or give them both exactly what they want.

Review: An amazing story of deceit, betrayal and secrets galore. I absolutely loved Gabe and Sūnder. Sūnder’s story is so sad. His mother at birth wants to put him to death for being a male as faeborn males are supposedly dangerous. Gabe for his part never knew his heritage.

This is a carefully woven story with a lot of twists and turns and many factors coming into to play that simply fascinated me. I was intrigued by the many species and their roles throughout.

I absolutely hated Talia, Sūnder’s mother, she seemed like a spoiled brat who gave no thought for anyone’s well being except for her own. The lengths she went to achieve her place were despicable to say the least. I felt so bad for Sūnder for the way she treated him throughout.

I am so looking forward to reading more about the characters already introduced and seeing how they all turn out as well as the dealings with the aftermath of the faeborn males.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: Being a P.I. isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes it’s downright scary—and alien.

Ledger is a P.I. with a difference—he’s a wolf shifter and uses his animal to help him on cases. His next case, though, isn’t something he expected. His best friend, Jared, the man he’s secretly loved since they were younger, has a bit of a problem. Someone is stalking him, and when she turns up at Ledger’s place and stares at them through the window, Ledger realizes things aren’t quite as simple as he’d first thought. She’s bonkers, with wild red hair and staring green eyes, and she needs dealing with—fast.

Jared is a drag queen, famous on the stage after he tried his hand at acting and won. He’s a star, loved by all, so to have a stalker isn’t something he can handle alone. Ledger promises to follow Jared so he can catch the stalker in the act, but things take a weird turn. After the stalker leaves a message that Ledger and Jared must meet her at a local café, the plot thickens to pea-soup viscosity. Someone called The Gecko is after Jared, and The Gecko is used to people doing exactly as he says…

But The Gecko isn’t human, and although Ledger has been obsessed with UFOs and alien life forms since he was a kid, he never thought he’d be meeting otherworldly creatures in real life. The men have no choice—they have to meet The Gecko. And isn’t that the strangest of things to be doing, fraternizing with an alien? Strange or not, Ledger and Jared have to obey—or forfeit their lives.

But Ledger doesn’t plan on anyone dying, especially not them…

Review:  Every once in a while you come across a story that will just leave you brain dead.  You have no clue what you just read nor do you want to know.

Ledger is a private eye who is also a wolf shifter.  He has the hots for one sexy man, Jared.  Jared is a famous drag queen who has a very freaky woman stalking his ass.  The thing is that freaky woman is an alien and works for another freaky alien.  Things between the two men do start to heat up though.

Now this story did have potential but it failed quite nicely.  You start to get this story and it just seems to go sideways.  In my opinion it just seemed like a lot of filler to make words.  It would have been a cute story had there actually been a true story to read.  I can’t say that I would love to read another story by this author, because if they follow this same line, then the answer would be nope.

I hate to admit it but this book was not my idea of fun.  Too bad because it could have been amazing.

Review: Let me start by saying this story was complex. The terminology used in it confused me at times but never the less I understand the nature of what it meant the further I read. A glossary would have been nice though to have a reference to look at. So much takes place in this book there is no way I can cover every character and twist in the review.

The Countermind agency is tasked with keeping psychics from using their abilities in an unlawful way by any means necessary, including reprogramming. This is done by using a telepath. What I found strange that they use other telepaths to scan minds in the guise of looking for rogues. Yet it is against the law for other telepaths to do the same.

There was an overabundance of information throughout this story. So much so that I had to continuously stop and restart reading. I found Jack’s character to be without emotions and cold at times. He seemed almost inhuman. But he thawed the further I read and started thinking for himself at the end.

Alan makes his living as a thief. He’s extremely smart and cunning for his age. There is a massive mystery surrounding who he is which I will not go into less I spoil it for other readers. Arissa is a Countermind agent in training who is a powerful telepath. Zheng is the head of Countermind and most defiantly is not who he seems.

There is abundance of mystery, adventure, deceit, betrayal and drama throughout. All these ingredients and characters made for a great read with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader intrigued

Review: This book was intense. It has fighting to the extreme in it. So be advised of that. It’s brutal and gory.

Shadow Fray is a no holds bar fight ring that never stays in one place. Fighters are anonymous when they fight. The bosses do not care if they die in the ring either. I found that even though this story is no so much a romance as it is a survival in a time when things are not so great.

The main character’s, Hale, who fights as Black Jim and is known in the fighting world for his impressive winning streak fights for his daughters wellbeing. Justin, a beginner to the scene, has aligned himself with the wrong handler who really does not care anything about him except the money he brings in. But Justin is fighting for his family to have a better life.

I really liked the explanation of the epidemic that tore the wold apart and found it intriguing that no one could actually walk on the ground due to the contamination. As a result all the population that is left has to live in high rises.

I don’t want to give away too much but I will say I loved the plot as it was more than fights. The rules to this new earth are downright scary. At times it seemed that civilization went backwards instead of forward. The mystery surrounding the bosses was intriguing. It’s truly a well written story about two men trying to survive any and all dangers.

Fantastic read.

Review: I loved this amazing story from start to finish. Spine-tingling and exciting this story takes the reader into a journey about finding the truth, facing danger and overcoming almost unstoppable odds. Zach, a doctor, treats Raven, a man brought in beaten severely. Raven is untrustworthy of everyone but Zach with good reason.

As the story continues we discover a sinister plan to eradicate all those who oppose the government regarding the aliens. The aliens themselves broke my heart as they have not done anything wrong. They are only trying to get home. But since the government told all that the original invasion, which was not an invasion, was taken care of they have to find the remaining alien children left behind and do away with them.

Raven intrigue me from the start. He was unique in some of abilities and I found him fascinating. Zach was definitely a huge payer in helping the aliens as he was fighting for the truth. When all is finally revealed I was awestruck at the deception the government went to.

You have to read this story it was so good. I could not put it down until the very end. Highly recommended.

Review: Welliver is on the mission to earth to scout out a safe place to live. He is super smart and knows it. When things go bad he is the one called on to fix the problem. Case in point when the creatures attack the ship. Unfortunately Welliver is too far away and has no chance getting to the safety of the ship so he takes off into the unknown. About to be attacked. A sexy, naked man comes to the rescue and saves Welliver from being eaten.

Beast has been alone on earth since the prison was deserted twenty years before. He cannot remember his name but he does know that he wants Welliver. Things progress nicely between these two.

I loved this book. Beast is dangerous and sexy a definite plus for me. Welliver is smart and handsome. I loved how Welliver went through the system and discovered who Beast was. The interactions between these two were hot.

Amazing and fascinating read from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Review:  This is a very unique type of story that I have not had the pleasure of reading before.  I was pleased and, well, not so pleased with it.  Although I have to admit that I did like most of the book.  It is very entertaining and there is quite a bit of surprise and some suspense going on for the two sexy men.  I liked the concept that this book gave and can say that I wished we had it going on.  Let’s just say this year should be fixed.  It is a very interesting plot and I was surprised to find that I had a bit more fun than I would have expected.

Drake has been brought into the Oracle Group.  He is one of the top doctors in History one could say.  Jen is the one who recruited him, but they have become a very hot couple.  Sent back in time to fix the mistakes of time travelers is what they do.  Drake is the one who goes into the past, whereas Jen is the one who keeps him focused.  Sent back to the time of a plague has Jen scared to death.  Not of the actual mission but of the fact they have no clue what they are looking for.

Now the story itself progressed pretty fast however it was missing quite a bit to make it a top rated story.  I feel that it could have had more content, especially in the end.  It felt like it just ended too fast and there are no signs of a continued story to get further into.  Also you see when our sexy men meet, straight to sex and then into a relationship.  There was no build-up, no development, were thrown into a story right off the bat.  For me I wanted to see that build-up, that development, I also wanted to see a better ending then was given.

You do get a happily ever after but it just came off very rushed and I saw several sections that could have been expanded to make it a five heart review.  Other than those issues I saw with it, the story is quite interesting and I did have fun reading it.

Review: This story was previously published by Amber Allure.

After having read so many stories that were either not very well written, too dark or just bizarre this story was a breath of fresh air. I have always loved T.A.’s  books so I knew that it would be a hit. Now, I am not one who normally likes sci-fi stories or even futuristic ones, but this one rocked. You would not see it from the cover, but this one was pretty amazing. The blurb was what caught my attention and it didn’t let me down.

In the year 2134 our world is no longer what it used to be; war has taken over, killing many and America’s struggle to just survive what has happened. To help fight, biogenetically engineered men were created to fight. Addison is the leader of their men, whereas Baxter is the second in command. They are strong fighters but there is something that makes them different. Even though they were created in different areas, they ended up fighting for the same unit. Addison shows his care for Baxter, when Baxter had been injured earlier on. It would seem those who are badly injured or just not wanted are killed off. Addison had done everything he could to keep him with him.

Baxter has felt the same for Addison but he thinks that he is not worthy of such devotion. Baxter knows he is not as smart as the others and is basically a good killer, but you can see his heart right off the bat. Whereas Addison wants more for them both. And their unit makes the choice to stop fighting and to run for freedom. It would seem the humans are starting to fear them and have placed them into even more danger. Now it is time to seek freedom.

The writing was fully developed and detailed that it felt like I was right there with them. I loved the characters and how much depth that there was. The romance was light, sweet and tender. This might be the story that will show me a different look at sci-fi and futuristic stories.

I had a lot of fun reading this and look forward into reading some more by this amazing author.

Desperately wanting this new life, Jem claims to be a solitary Vagabond, a loner without family or home. A man nobody wants or is looking for. Safe for the first time in his memory, Jem has hopes for a happy future. He is falling in love with Ellis and adores his new family. All he wants is to live a quiet life as Ellis’ consort, but as his secrets sink him deeper and deeper into a prison of lies, he knows that he cannot hide his true identity forever. Marrying Ellis is a dream come true, but he’ll never escape the brutal man he is running from.

Soon called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice, Jem must fight to stop a powerful monster bent on revenge.

Review: I was looking forward to reading this book after I read the blurb. But I had a really hard time reading this book as it was confusing from the start. Jem has finally escaped an abusive marriage in the hopes of ending it all only to crash-land and survive on Xol. This is where I got angry. The people helping him recover do not explain anything. Instead they tell him he has Xol blood in him, which he can get pregnant, and then proceed to “train” him to be a Xol’s consort.

When Jem fights back he gets punished. I’m sorry but what is wrong with these people? Can’t they see he’s scared and doesn’t understand what is going on? Jem does not know these people at all yet he’s treated as a prisoner not allowed to go anywhere without supervision. I would have tried my best to escape what I perceive as another abusive situation as no one has the right to put their hands on someone else unless it’s consensual and this situation was anything but consensual.

King Ellis is pulled toward Jem from the beginning yet he doesn’t stop what he knows is happening. He’s no better than them in my opinion. This story has a lot of twists and turns, flashbacks and so on so much that the actual storyline gets lost.

Though well written it was confusing and as such I continuously had to re-read things to get back to the story not to mention what happened to Jem when he woke up after crash landing. I didn’t like it myself.

(Sentries 06)
by

Elizabeth Noble

New Colorado Protectorate fell with the assassination of Chancellor Clarke. Like many others, Todd and Nick Ruger left the land of their birth and made a home to the north in Yellowknife. Their world was ever changing. The time came to say a sad farewell to some of their friends and loved ones, but they were taken in with open arms by others and in turn offered shelter to yet more. Through the years they remained steadfast in their duty as sentries to protect and defend those that needed it the most.

Time marches on but through it all they hold each other dear and cherish the love they’ve shared. There are still angry ghosts, Windigos and water spirits to contend with. Their lives change, offering them new roles. When the time comes, they do what sentries have done for generations prior and teach others the skills to carry on as sentries. The Rugers lives were rich and their hearts full with their devotion and love for each other. The tradition of the sentries lived on forever. It was the legacy of Todd and Nick Ruger. That was the way it was always meant to be.

The focus of this short story is to give readers further insight into the relationship of the twins fathers, Ciran and Rian. I’ve taken three scenes from Opposites that were cut short and elaborated on the shenanigans that ensued. I also focused more in the beginning on the relationship between Cirian and Rian, to give readers a chance to get to know them and the inner workings of their relationship a little better.

Rum is one paranoid thought away from self-destruction when he is recruited for a covert mission: pull Jamal from hibernation.

When Jamal and Rum team up with an FBI Hamra Pair to stop the terrorist group Dios Provee, Rum thinks he’ll show Jamal their true potential lies in an equal partnership, but Jamal is convinced Rum should take the lead. Review: Each book in the Space Warrior’s collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I came across Sydney Lain a few months back and can honestly say that she has written probably one of my top favorite series to read. You have the futuristic and science fiction part of the story which is great, then she added in characters that you wouldn’t find in many stories. I love the fact that they will protect those they love, even though sometimes you just want to smack them upside the head.

Dragon was a captain for the Warsarian military and he loved the idea of being in space. However after killing many people, he needed peace. So he opened a bar but was always wistful that is until his mate walked in. Or I should say flew in? Kern seemed to just manage to piss of some bad guys. Kern has trouble trusting but he wants to trust the sexy man helping him out. These two are hot together that is for sure.

This book gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more. I just wished that there were more to read, I absolutely hate having to wait for the next story. The only problem I had with it was the fact that it ends to fast. I want more after he convinces him. I want to see how well they start acting towards each other. I loved this one and cannot wait for the next amazing story.

It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. When Sydney puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.
