Review: Each book in the Werewolves of Manhattan collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Even though I have all of the books in this series, this is the first one I have had a chance to read and I have to say that it rocked. Now, I must admit there are some issues that were driving me nuts about it. But, not enough to take away from the story. My attention was caught from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I will warn you though that if you have issues with rape or gang rape, then you will not want to read this story.

Kane is what one calls a human Omega, which means he is very special to those around him. He has such strong faith and an amazing sense of honor about him. He had stood up to a coach who was nothing more than a bully, and it almost cost him his life. He was rescued by an Alpha and brought back to the Alpha’s home to heal.

Gabriel is the Alpha in Manhattan and has found his mate. A mate that had been brutally raped and beaten by five men. He knows that it will take time to form the bond, because his mate was terrified of being touched. With the help of other Alpha-mates, Kane has a chance to not only heal, but to find true love with a mate that loves him.

Now my only true issues with this is after the rape. Kane is more worried about his papers then acting like a rape victim. But then again, victims never act the same so it didn’t take away from the story at all. Also they were very affectionate, but maybe too affectionate in a way. The Alphas are strong, but they are all wealthy, sweet, caring and powerful wolves. But, there is just something off about them, also.

Also, this story comes off more like being told than actually showing me what it is about. It is also a bit over doing on some spots and too much like other scenes in a way. A.C. Katt’s stories are very unique, complex in parts but is also a bit off.

However although it feels like this, the story to me rocked. My attention never wavered from the story at all. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Blurb: All the world’s a stage, but in STAGE FRIGHT, Hell’s Kitchen private detective Jimmy McSwain learns that life upon it’s wicked boards can be a killer.

The Harold Calloway Theatre on West 47th Street is home to the new play Triskaidekaphobia, and its playwright has been receiving threatening messages. Theatre owner and lead producer Wellington Calloway has hired Jimmy to investigate, but it’s a case not without its complications. His mother is the head usher there, and Jimmy grew up on its aisles. His ex, Remy, is also the costume designer for the show, a man he hasn’t seen in years.

Further making his life difficult is the mysterious Seetha Assan, who is connected–albeit tentatively–to the case that forever haunts Jimmy–his own father’s murder. She may just have the clue to help him finally solve the cold case.

As Opening Night for the play looms, Jimmy finds himself involved in a nest of egos and personalities, all while seeking to find the missing Seetha. Toss in his on-again, off-again relationship with Captain Francis X. Frisano, and suddenly Jimmy’s life is edging toward tragedy. That’s when a murderer strikes, and suddenly nothing is pretend anymore. Life on the stage has turned all too real, and all too deadly.

Just like on the mean streets of Manhattan.

Review: I am not one who usually reads mysteries or suspense stories, give me a good romance and I am a happy girl. However this series is not only captivating, fascinating but intriguing as well. It is well told with a lot of depth to it that will always keep your attention. The characters are fully developed and will have you eating out of their hands. Jimmy is one hell of a guy.

Jimmy has always tried to find out who killed his father. The one man who knew the answer was killed by Frank, who just happened to be not only Jimmy’s lover but the chief of police. He felt that he had been betrayed. That is until Frank found the sister of the man he had killed. Now someone was trying to shut Seetha up.

He is also working on a case involving the theater. The theater has been a place that he had been around most of his life thanks to his mother. He had loved a man there who had up and left him. Now he was back and there was a danger lurking around the theater.

I would think that Adam is probably one of my top favorite mystery authors out there. Not only does he have sexy men, hot sex, lots of danger, mystery and suspense, but he creates a world that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

I had a lot of fun reading this and look forward to the next story.

As always, I am grateful and honored to get my greedy little hands on a Kendall McKenna read. A Gentle Kind of Strength hit all my awww buttons. I don’t know if it’s because of the years that I spent in corrections. Or seeing the K-9 officers in my ER, but I loved Ray and Harley.

For me this was more than a romance, it was the making of a family.

The relationship’s slow burn was refreshing. I love that the shy guy finally got his man.

But, that ending. OMG. I swear my heart stopped beating for a few beats.

Highly recommend!

Shorty’s Review: ♥♥♥♥ 3.5 Hearts
I’ve heard a lot of great things about Kendall Mckenna’s books. So was excited when I was given this book to read and review. But I have to tell you I could not see what all the hype was about myself.

Yes it’s a well written story about veterinarian Damien and Ray a K-9 handler. What I could not understand was all the details about the dog Harley and the lack of details about the main character Damien. Did I misunderstand the blurb?

This is a very slow and I mean slow romance and I use that term lightly as I would have given up. I felt that Ray that let the past rule his life instead of seeing what was right in front of him. This story takes place over a long span of time so I got to the point where I wanted to slap them both. Ray, to snap him out of the past and Damien to make him let go and move on to someone who actually sees him.

The sex scenes were hot and passionate. But I truly wish there had been more about Damien and Ray rather than the dog. This story just did not interest me after I started reading and got halfway through.

I’m sorry but I did not care for it myself.

Eddie is in love. The problem is, Eddie’s in love with four men… four men simultaneously, that is. But who does Eddie love more? And can the heart feel for that many men equally? Ah, but it does have four chambers, so four seems the most logical choice… at least, of course, to Eddie.

Reviewer: Prime

Review: This book was a real dark horse for me – I didn’t realise that I would love it as much as I have. Fate is a fantastic coming of age book by Rob Rosen that follows one young man through life, love and gradually becoming part of a Hollywood fame engine.

As the blurb reads, the story is about Eddie. In fact, Eddie tells the entire story – superbly too, since I never once wondered what the other characters were thinking throughout the book. Eddie brings us through his formative years, but the story really starts when he turns fifteen and ends with Eddie in his mid-20s – the guts of the books is mostly when Eddie goes through college.

And now we come to the four men. I rarely ever like stories which have even a whiff of cheating in them, but I have to say, I was more than willing to overlook any issues regarding faith and loyalty with this one. I think because a) Eddie and his friends match so well, b) I’m guessing that these guys are confusing love and friendship for a good many years until they reach the point where they “grow up”.

The first of Eddie’s men is Brian. These guys have been friends since they day they were born. Both of them were born in the same hospital after their respective mother unexpectedly went into labour. The women, who were light years apart in so many ways, became friends and so did their sons, even when they were separated by both time and distance.

Brian doesn’t seem confused by his sexuality, but I think the best description is fluid considering the girlfriends he gets. Personally, by the end of it, I think that Brian is a bit of a dick but considering Eddie’s behaviour both Eddie and I, as the reader, decided to overlook that.

Then there was Curtis (real name John, its complicated). Curtis is Eddie’s college roommate and after realising they were both gay became friends with benefits, even when Curtis started seeing Aaron. Later on, Aaron also becomes one of Eddie’s men.

During college though, Eddie meets up finding Brian again and this is how he meets Trevor, a friend of Brian’s. Eddie cannot fathom the feelings he feels for each of the men and once all the characters are into play, the guessing game starts (though in the back of my mind what actually happens I thought would be the obvious solution).

And if that isn’t complicated enough, this is only half of the plot!

The other half revolves around Eddie’s comedienne mother, Paula, who maintains a happy family life with her husband and kids, Eddie and Elsie as well as going on the road to perform. As the years pass Paula gains more and more popularity until the point where her fame explodes into Hollywood madness and her whole family is sucked into the Hollywood Machine.

Nonetheless, she manages to keep her head – for the most part – and makes sure she has her husband (I can’t honestly recall reading his name) and kids nearby. Eddie’s father shies away from the fame and business side of things; rather he is his wife’s rock. Eddie on the other hand, who had joined his mother on the road throughout his childhood and was a popular part of her routine, begins to take the business side of things over. On their mother’s coat tails, one by one, after drifting apart from his men, they are each brought into the family fold.

There are plenty of other characters in this complex story, but you’ll just have to read it. Eddie is charming, just like his mother. It is difficult not to love them both because in a way both Eddie and Paula are the main characters, though they share the spotlight with at least another six characters. It’s a sweet fairytale of Hollywood with some relatable personal points when it comes to finding love and all the rest.

I’d like to think that this is a book that appeals to everyone, but if you like New Adult, Hollywood, great families, lots of sex and lots of sweetness this is the book for you.

Review: Diana always gives you a love story that always intrigues you and keeps you captivated. Her stories have a serious tone to them but there is a hint of humor that makes it a lot more fun for me to love. I have read a few stories by Diana and have put her on my automatic buy list. So when I got this story I was a bit disappointed with it.

Jayden was expected at his sister’s wedding, but he was not going alone. He hired Nash to pretend to be his man. He didn’t want women to come up to him thinking he was available. Although he had not expected the heat that he felt with Nash.

This story is a spinoff of the Arbor Heights series, so I was expecting a bit more to it. The plot is well written and enjoyable. I loved the characters but not the fake boyfriend part. It shows the homophobia up front. Although his family is good with it all. It shows how they meet, but to get the full taste of them you have to read the next book. Which for me is a great welcoming because I can’t stand not having a happily ever after.

Now other than certain aspects of the story that I didn’t much care for, this was an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read the second book, and I can guarantee as soon as I finish writing this I will be starting on the next book.

I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it.

Review: Usually one goes for books because of their titles and blurbs, however in this case the author has always given me stories that I end up reading more than once. This story was no different. I love the paranormal and fantasy world. K-lee always gives you a world that you can lose yourself into. It is a world that I would love to find out more about. This is book three and I would suggest starting with the first book.

I find that even though it is broken into two different parts, it worked pretty well for this story. Most times it drives me nuts and leaves me with questions. However with this one it was easy to follow. Now the only problem I had was it seemed way too descriptive and drawn out to me. Other than that it was a great read.

Manny is very special and such a dream to read about. He wants what his friends have, a true spirit mate. He wants the happiness they have and wants it now. He is getting tired of waiting. He didn’t have a great home life which is what captivated me with him. I felt more for him then I have with many of the other characters. He has a family now, one that he has chosen. They are a sort of mismatched and quirky. His little family of misfits wants the best for him as well.

The problem was Manny’s spirit mate was not connecting like they should. Manny wants his to be like his friends. Mika on the other hand never wanted his fated mate, but will help Manny. I do love the way K-lee makes you feel what the characters are feeling. Mika wasn’t a favorite of mine in the other stories, but he made headway in this one. I love how he gives up so much to make Manny happy. It also made me feel bad for him at the same time.

The story draws you in and keeps you there to the very end. I had so much fun reading this and look forward to reading more by this amazing author. I loved the way K-lee makes you anticipate what is going to happen next.

I had a blast with this story and look forward to reading more by this author. I can’t wait for the next her next story.

I would definitely recommend it.

Review: The guys are back and heating up the pages. It is time for a wedding. Now I have to admit that I did not read the first book, so I was a bit lost. However after reading this, I must say that I will go find the first one. I am not one for weddings, but I do love a good ending.

Now as I have said above, it is best to start this series with the first book. I had a lot of fun reading this. This author shows a great deal of talent and gave me a story that pulls you in. I was captivated from the first page and couldn’t put the book down. It has a lot of heat in it that will have you fanning yourself.

Although I must say I wasn’t sure about Drew’s grandparents. The older they get the stranger they are. I think Emma was a brat but was fun to read about. She is a quirky young girl that shows a lot of spunk. The wedding is a sight to behold, to bad I don’t want to get married.

I had a blast reading this story and look forward to seeing what other books this author has out. It has a serious tone to it but there is humor that makes it more fun. I would definitely recommend this story and can’t wait to read it again. It was a fun story that will have you wanting more. Although I have to say that the title makes one think of a different type of story.

Review: This is something I rarely ever do… give a book below a three, but in all honesty and soul-searching I just couldn’t.

Crane is handsome, beyond handsome and he knows it. Tye is enamored with him from first sight but being older thinks the man wouldn’t want him. He sets up a job for Crane as a tour guide at the tour company he frequents to spend time with him.

Ok, I left a lot out with that summary. If this was where the book began, I think it had some premise. But instead, it spends pages going on about how he knows he is good-looking and pretty much gives airs that he is above most people because he is.

It puts down obese people quite a bit and centers on self-centered beauty. There are several scenes in the beginning that had absolutely no bearing on the book, the opening scene with Dan, an 18-year-old, and a sex scene with the married man who hires him for the tour job. I could not relate or make myself like Crane at all.

I really wanted to like this story. I usually love the Storming Love Books, but this was one that just wasn’t my cup of tea.

If you like conceited men, highly erotic stories natural disasters, older men/younger men, sugar daddies, and lots of hot man-sex you may like this.

Review: Fai is a new author for me so I was a bit leery of reading it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, however I did find myself enjoying it. Although I have to tell you that I wanted to throw it during parts of it.

The first thing I want to say is that Fox’s mother is a major bitch. She gives the wicked mother a kick in the ass, because this woman was top dog. Fox on the other hands was a dream to read about or should I say I thought he was. Now Fox is straight as an arrow. That is until he meets Tommie.

He was dating Audrey and was happy with her. Audrey however is a strange duck. I mean really no sex is a bit strange. Then there is the crying, which is why I can’t stand females in a story. Although this one was a bit off. Fox however is a bit odd with her. I mean controlling, demanding and acts like a bit of a douche to her.

Then the truth comes out and it explains why Audrey never wanted sex with Fox. Audrey is in fact Tommie. Fox is in fact more of an ass to Tommie then he was when he thought Tommie was Audrey.

Let’s just say you really have to read this book. I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to end up liking this story or not. Although they have trouble communicating and Fox is an ass, these two find the perfect ending for each other. I ended up enjoying this book a lot more than I thought I would.

I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Each book in the Paranormal Dentistry for the Fanged and Friendly collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I don’t think I have laughed so much from reading a story as I do with these books. Winslow and Sparks love to cause trouble in their own little ways. Winslow has been keeping secrets that involve a sexy Nile Croc named Teegan. Teegan is just as infatuated with the little chipmunk. Gets more interesting when Winslow’s family comes in. Things are going to get even better now.

This is one of my favorite short stories, although I do wish it was longer. I can’t wait to read Spark’s story. The poor residents of their sweet town is about to even go crazier. There is so much humor in it that you will laugh your ass off. Jackie always does have a way with telling a story. She gives you a world that you can lose yourself into.

I had so much fun reading this and look forward to the next story.

Review: Talia Carmichael is one of my top five favorite authors. She writes a beautiful contemporary that usually has a great bit of humor in them. I love how the characters just seem to come together perfectly. I got a kick out of a rock star who is quirky and a fireman who is more than just heat.

Jade is a drummer in a band that is well-known. He decides he needs a bit of time off to rest and meets a sexy fireman that makes his fire burn hotter. Conrad takes one look at Jade and knows he wants the hot little number. There is a slow burn to make the flames hotter and their love is getting stronger.

I absolutely loved this book and look forward to the next story. It gave me just a bit of seriousness and quite a bit of humor that I love. I loved the bit of danger that is in it. My attention was captured from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. Actually my attention was caught with the cover. It made me want the book before I even read the blurb. It gave me everything I could ask for in a book.

I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. I would definitely recommend this story.

Review: Oh this was one fun-filled story for me. I remember the Christmas story of the ghosts of past, present and future. This was representing that type of story but with a flare it would seem.
Peter and Colin are together but they are having problems. Every time something happens Peter runs. Colin just wants some stability in his life. Peter is afraid.

Then, and this is the fun part, Colin’s boyfriend who is dead shows up to show what has happened, what is going on and what will happen. Ren was a drag queen so he is fun to learn about. He needed to show Peter the truth. This story was very touching and had me in tears throughout it all.

Now this story was not for me, but it was a great story over all. It had me wondering about life. To be hurt and afraid is just not the way to live. Normally I would say I had a blast with the story, but this one did something better. It made me wish. I won’t say I loved it but I did enjoy the story and I would recommend it.

Review: I have read only one other book by Alex and there is such a different type of tone to it that drives me nuts. And when I say nuts, I do say it in a good way. I never was one for mysteries unless I am extremely bored and can’t get my hands on another book. Which is how I started reading this and I have to tell you I had fun with it.

Although I must admit that it really wasn’t my type of story. As with mysteries I am not much for BDSM and all that. It kind of creeped me out a bit. I need to learn more about it I suppose because if the guys are this hot, then damn I will definitely need to learn more. The Marine part and the fact that they are PI’s now is one hot factor to this book.

Dan and Mark were not only working together but sleeping together. Now according to the blur Dan’s BDSM past was going to cost him. However I didn’t really get that part of the story. Seeing as Dan is a Dominate and Mark is his sub. That part is what came off a bit bizarre to me. It also showed me a part that I didn’t much care for.

These two were a couple but Dan’s giving him to another just was wrong to me. I didn’t much care for that. Now back to the story itself.
The cage is fighting rings. There are three different types that they will deal with. Dan was to guard a young fighter where many wanted to stop the poor kid. It is up to Mark to find a way to save them both.

There is a lot of kink that you can find in it. Dan is one kinky man that is for sure.

Now this book is well written, with a lot of detail and juice however for me it was just difficult to follow. I am not really sure what it was but the darkness I sensed drove me nuts.
Now this book was well written, but difficult for me to follow. It did catch my attention from the start, but I found my mind wandering a bit.

With this book it was the title that caught my attention first, then the cover. The blurb is not very good in describing this book to me, so it didn’t make me want to read it. It didn’t have me anticipating the taste of it. I know that sounds a bit odd and my words are a bit hard to find these days it would seem. There is just so much violence, darkness and the sex is something I couldn’t even begin to explain without giving too much away.

I did like the book itself but it definitely was not for me. I found myself trying to figure out why they did the things they did. I just wasn’t really sure what to think of the book though.
