Review: Steven Everett knew he was taking a risk falling in love with Aidan, when Aidan always loved Sammy. So when the two decide to pursue a relationship, Steven is devastated. He takes solace in comforting Aidan’s ex boyfriend Michael. He was brutally attacked on campus just days before Aidan and Sammy were.

Steven is so overwhelmed with the grief he’s feeling over losing Aidan as a lover, that it takes him a little while to recognize what he’s feeling for Michael is attraction. But Michael hurt Aidan by cheating on him, and now he’s lying in a hospital bed fighting for his life after being bashed by some of their fellow students, that are seemingly getting away with it.

Michael has regretted hurting Aidan from the moment he was doing it. The drugs warped his mind and way of thinking while he was getting high, and cost him the man he loved. Now he’s lying in a hospital bed facing losing his sight and being nurtured, nursed and befriended by the man who Aidan hurt when he chose to love another. Well, aren’t they just a pair. Michael latches onto the kindness that Steven shows him immediately, and it doesn’t take long before the two are sneaking kisses and so much more in the dark early morning hours at the hospital.

But Michael’s wounds are not just on the surface. Beaten and threatened by his own father as he grew up, rejected and ridiculed by his peers at school, all because of his sexuality. And Steven hides his fair share of grief, over losing Aidan, over issues of being able to trust Michael because he cheated and he’s a recovering addict. Steven wants to love someone and just be loved in return so badly. But there is more at stake here than just these two young men’s hearts, a secret Steven has that could destroy any chance of a relationship between them.

I’m so happy that Doyon went back and gave us Steven’s story. If you’ve read Loving Aidan, you will quickly realize this book starts while that story while still unfolding, with Steven in the hospital with Michael right after the bashing. I really enjoyed seeing how they opened up to each other, and over time shared every secret they each held tight, to eventually be able to truly love one another. I really felt like I was right there in the room while Steven fell for the vulnerable, broken and beautiful man who lay in that bed.

The story was very dialogue driven, more so than just about any book I’ve ever read, so there is a lot of conversation and truths that Steven and Michael share while they are slowly falling in love. Where the story took a turn for me was at the end when Steven took Michael home to meet his family. I seriously wanted to take Steven’s mother and brother and bang their heads together a couple of times. And Michael’s father at the hospital, that man was infuriating! The only thing that made that worth wild was the end result.

There were a couple of times that certain actions or reactions didn’t make sense to me, or threw me off, as if they didn’t fit the rest of the content of the story. But overall, this was a very intriguing story. I loved how it played out parallel to Loving Aidan, so we got to see things that were just hinted at in that book.

If you like stories about figuring out who you are, not finding yourself because Steven and Michael have already done that, what they needed was to find each other, and figure out who they were, then you will really enjoy this book. I suggest reading Loving Aidan first though so you’ll be familiar with the characters and their world.

Blurb: All he ever wanted was to be a normal guy….

Phil Brask spends his days in the basement of his mentor’s Victorian home, converting legal documents into electronic format. When the pipe feeding the water heater bursts, Lee Redding arrives in the plumber’s truck and draws Phil away from the narrow focus of his computer and camera lens. Lee gives Phil hope for a life beyond the walls he’s constructed using the nesting habits of migratory birds and dense legal files, a guided tour through a world filled with romance and music…maybe even family. But there’s a reason Phil retreated behind those walls, why he panics at a simple touch.

Lee has a good life—working with his uncle and on his mother’s farm, playing bass in a horrible metal band, and hooking up when he pleases—but he’s always suspected something was missing. When he meets the hot photographer with the icy-blue eyes, he knows exactly what that something is. Phil isn’t like other guys, but neither is Lee beneath his carefree exterior. Maybe Lee’s the perfect guy to show Phil that everything doesn’t have to be done the hard way and “home” isn’t a four-letter word.

Review: A beautiful and dramatic look at two people learning to live life through the lens of their own experience, helping each other to cope and find love. The writing was smooth, the internal dialogue was seamless, the romantic scenes intense, and the plot was fast paced.
Phil has learned to trust just one man through his trauma, but knows that he needs more than the security of Jerry’s house, he needs to take a risk, to step out and experience life. This characters’ anxiety was so well written I could feel it, along with his minor successes. Each brave step Phil took had my heart pounding and expecting the worst. When it didn’t happen, I cheered for him, and when it did, I wanted to retreat to that basement with him.

Lee kept me curious, his intent and his own explorative personality had me smiling while at the same time I kept my guard up through the plot hoping he wasn’t going to destroy the bravery Phil had established in himself. I was very pleased to see a mirrored personality and an honest heart in Lee.

There are plenty of minor hurdles and then major dramatic events for both main characters, but they are survivors and that is what this story is about. Surviving adversity, rising above what others try to force on us, and beating the odds.
The important thing I saw in this story is that success was not just internal. Yes, Lee and Phil had their own demons to fight, and they worked hard to defeat them so that once they had met each other they were more able to make that relationship work.

But the secret to the healing and survival, in this case of Phil, is that at least one person stepped forward to be the hero, to be the support system and safe place for that healing to happen. The biggest hero in this story for me is not Phil or Lee, it is Jerry. Without the Jerry’s of this world, characters in story plots like this and in the real world would not have a chance. So, go Jerry! And congrats to Lee and Phil, two strange birds who found each other and made life work for them.

The Nesting Habits of Strange Birds is a great read, with plenty of surprises and “Aww damn that’s sweet!” moments.

Blurb: Kyle Abbot is tired of being sexually harassed in his own pack. The man after him only wants him to try to become the pack Alpha, and Kyle’s not about to let that happen. When the high dragon comes to him and asks him this favor, he cannot refuse.

Review: This is book seven in the Of Dragons and Wolves series and they need to be read in order. Most of the characters are mentioned a bit in the previous books and it also gives you an insight into their world. A world that will fascinate you and have you falling in love. This story will make you cry just a little bit. I love the way the characters just mix with the right amount of chemistry and passion. They also have a bit of attitude.

Kyle is a wolf shifter whose family had decided that some of the brothers needed to mate with the dragon shifters for peace. His younger brothers were happily mated to them already. Even though he agreed, he still didn’t like it. Not the idea of mating but the fact that it wasn’t really a choice. He had been sexually harassed by an elder and he wanted it stopped.

The problem was nothing could be done otherwise it would make his father look weak or not in control of his sons. He was afraid of what his mate would be like, but when he got a look not only was he liking what he saw but of what his attitude would be like. Aiken surprised him all the way around.

Aiken didn’t mind the fact that he was protecting Kyle, but he felt like he was betraying his mate that had died. He also thought he was betraying Kyle by still loving Alex. However when these two do get to the hot stuff it sets the bed sheets on fire.

I loved this book and cannot wait to read the next book. It gave me everything I could want in a story. Hot and sexy men, wolf shifters, dragon shifters, feisty mates, strong dragons, passion and fire, excitement and dangerous situations. It gave me that and a lot more.

I would recommend reading this book especially if the idea of two very head strong men fall in love.

Blurb: The joy Stefan felt upon finding his forever mate was overshadowed by the sorrow that filled him at his mate’s rejection. Bay wanted nothing to do with him. Being the shy one in his family, Stefan’s lack of social skills left him confused as to how to bridge the gap between them.

Bay Stanton knew he had found the sexiest man he’d ever seen the second he laid eyes on Stefan. It was just too bad that his personality didn’t match, or so Bay believes when Stefan lies to him, a sin Bay finds nearly impossible to forgive. As difficult as it is for them both, when trouble threatens their mating, can they depend on each other or will the lies and misunderstandings be bigger than the danger?

Review: This is book three in the Forever Mates series and they need to be read in order. Each romantic character you come across in this series is told about in the first book so you will learn about each character just a bit more with each story. It also gives you a wonderful read and an amazing insight into a world that you will find yourself wanting to be lost in.

I have always loved the paranormal world and this book doesn’t change that in fact it strengthens it even more. Stormy always gives you a book that you will find yourself captured in and wanting to stay. She also gives you characters that you will fall in love with.

Bay is a tender, loving and very affectionate young man, but he can give you an attitude that will have you cheering him on. Him and his four best friends decide to stop in and have a drink. Their only problem was it was a backwards location so their fears were up there just a bit more. Lots of homophobic people living in the boondocks but his best friend said to go for it. Oh he went for it all right and comes out with a mate that had lied to him.

Ok he didn’t know he was his mate nor did he know that they were shifters and couldn’t give diseases, but in a way his long time fear could over ride his brain sometimes. However he loved the way Stefan loved on him. Now all he had to do is to get over his anger. Stefan had wanted his mate, even before he met him. Now he has found the sexy little man, he wanted him for life. Unfortunately his lack of social skills has made it just a bit harder to keep his mate.

When Stefan is hurt, Bay is the one that takes care of him. Now all he has to do is to show his mate that he will forever love him. I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next story.

I would recommend reading it, especially if you love sexy men, tiger shifters, mighty mates, crazy attitudes, hot sex, passionate glances, excitement, adventure, action and danger. It gives you that and so much more. I can see myself reading this story more than once. It was that good. It has a serious tone to it but there is so much humor also.

He offers Jay some much-needed compassion and understanding, and from that, connection comes a friendship that quickly–perhaps too quickly–turns into something more. Reviewer: GiGi

Review: I can’t imagine Jay’s regret, but the author does a pretty good job. I know that emotions are powerful and distracting after the death of a loved one, so it was not unrealistic of Jay to find himself quickly attached to Scott right away.

The attraction between the two seems natural, quickly developing and the sexual tension hot for many reasons. From natural chemistry to Jay’s restraint and denial all these years.

The turmoil between family members, when someone dies in an unexpected and tragic way, is often unexpected, hurtful and even violent. So it was not surprising to see how Jays’ in-laws treated him. I even understood what his in-laws were feeling.

The real interesting part of this plot was how the writer even has me as a reader in denial about Jay’s motives and feelings. To miss the fact that he was not grieving the real loss here and possibly using Scott as a distraction, which was silently lurking in the background the whole time and the eventual blowup…that was the climax of this story.

A fast read and a quick romance, For the Living had some nail-biting moments along with some very steamy scenes and warm and fuzzy relationship developments. Witt had my attention though the whole plot. A good rainy weather read for sure.

Review: M’lan is a handsome monk who has powerful healing powers that he is only allowed to use on Nobles and Warriors. He was taken from his home at fourteen years and has lived at the monetary ever since. The monks never know their patients names, as it’s safer for everyone not to know. One of his patients is Major Jamil Jarka. He quickly rises to fifth level and becomes aware of deceit in the monetary.

Sexy Major Jamil Jarka is an assassin for the king. He was struck down by his teacher at fifteen so he was unable to become what he wanted to be. After being injured, he seeks the healing power of the monks and is immediately intrigued by the monk who heels him, Ma’lan. It is dangerous to seduce the monk but he can’t help himself and so the chase begins.

I really didn’t know what to expect as I started reading this story, as I have not read anything by this author before. I was immediately entranced with it. Well written book that kept my attention from start to finish. Full of drama, mystery, deceit, action, and a monk and a noble warrior who try, and fail to, fight their feelings for one another while at the same time try to discover who the traitor is in their midst. The details of Salar and Ka’alar were amazing. The sex between M’lan and Jamil was intense and hot.

Fantastic read. Can’t wait to read the next one to find out what happens next.

Review: This is book eight in this series and they should be read in order. Each story sort of talks about characters in future books. They even show you what happened to put them in the place that they are in now. It also gives you an insight into their amazing world, a world that will have you falling in love. It caught my attention from the moment I opened the book and kept it all the way to the end.

Marcy gives you a story that makes you feel like you are right there with them and going through what the same thing with them. I have read each of these books more than once. Now we all know that when two men get together it is hot, but when three men get together it is out of this world.

Kendrick and Roman had been happily mated, although to do so they had left their world behind. Then they had came back but built a home for themselves, until Kendrick was killed by another shifter. Roman had left for revenge and another dragon had followed him. Clatcher had loved Roman for a very long time, but he had kept it to himself when Roman had mated Kendrick. After getting away from the hunters, they were both injured. Another dragon and his mate had found them, shocked to the core they brought them both back to the castle.

Then Roman and Clatcher had found out that Kendrick was not dead. Oh his body was gone, but his spirit had joined with a fox. So now Kendrick was not a dragon shifter but a fox shifter. Clatcher had bowed out, because he knew that Roman and Kendrick was madly in love. However Kendrick was having doubts. He knew about Clatcher and Roman.

The fact that the two men had been together after his death. Things were not working the way he thought. So after witnessing a kiss between Roman and Clatcher he knew something had to change. That something was not for an ending between the two but a uniting of the three.
This was a very hot story, although it will have you in tears with the pain that the three men feel. To love one so much and then to lose them is a horrible feeling. Then to find love again is amazing, although Roman had not admitted it.

Then to find out that the man you thought was dead was not in fact dead and having to choose between the two men was a painful experience. Here was a mate that had such a big heart that he had been willing to let the man he loved go, then decide that he can love a another is amazing. I wonder sometimes if three people can truly love each other enough to keep them together but when I come across a story like this I find that miracles do happen.

I loved this story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. This story will have you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for what happens next. I loved this book and I know that you will too. It gives you not two but three sexy men, shifters, passion and fire, excitement, adventure and danger.

Blurb: Martin Dixon’s carefully constructed, peaceful life is turned upside down when his super Christian eighteen-year-old nephew Carter shows up unexpectedly on his doorstep and announces he’s gay. Martin’s first impulse is to send him back to his parents. But when he discovers that Carter has been in a mental hospital to cure his gay-ness he realizes he’s stuck with the boy.

Unfortunately, the two get on each other’s nerves, each driving the other to distraction. Independently, however, they each arrive at the same conclusion. The other would be much less annoying if he only had… a boyfriend.

Review: Martin Dixon’s predictably scheduled life quickly turns chaotic when his 18-year-old nephew shows up on his doorstop. Young Carter sort of ran away from one of those ‘fix the gay’ places and went to the only person he could think of that would help him. His gay uncle, of course! A sort of dark hilarity ensues as Martin tries to steer his young, inexperienced and naive nephew in the right direction.

Carter quickly makes friends with a transgender woman at work, Buffy, and catches the eye of an older suitor, Henry. At first, Carter looks at Henry as a suitable man for his uncle, but comes to realize that Henry actually has eyes for him. Of course, Uncle Martin does not like the idea of his nephew dating someone who is twice his age, and he has no idea how to talk to the teenager. He winds up doing more harm than good in the beginning, and winds up pushing Carter away.

At the same time Martin is trying unsuccessfully to be somewhat of a parent to Carter, he meets someone and his ex makes a re-appearance in his life. The question remains, can a middle-aged single guy with a loner persona take on the issues and drama that come with a gay, horny teenager? I guess we are about to find out!

While the concept of this story intrigued me, the execution was lacking. I found myself skimming in several places where the story was overly descriptive. There was a lack of romantic connection between any of the couples, and the few times I think, there was supposed to be some passion between characters, it didn’t translate well in the writing. I enjoyed the humour that was peppered throughout though. Whether it was Carter’s snarky comments for his uncle or the friendship between Martin and his best friend, the comedic turns were well done.

I’m torn with this one, it was just an okay read for me. I think, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, that were the story a hundred or so pages shorter and some of the overly descriptive text removed, it would change the outcome of this read for me. If you are a fan of Thornton’s other works and ready for a bit of a funny read, this book might work better for you.

Blurb: Sometimes the little head really does know best.

Jeff White’s needs are simple. All he wants is a submissive to help him explore the dominant side that his ex-girlfriend couldn’t handle. Problem is, inexperience in both dating and domming has resulted in a string of rejections.

What he needs is an experienced sub willing to show him the ins and outs of controlling a scene. Unfortunately, the only one willing to take him on is male, and Jeff is straight. One hundred percent, never-gonna-happen straight.

Easygoing painslut Eddie Powell doesn’t care that Jeff is younger, working class, and shorter. Eddie likes a bit of rough, and Jeff fits the bill perfectly. The trick will be convincing him to follow Eddie’s five-step training program—which would be easy if Eddie wasn’t starting to have feelings for the rough-around-the-edges landscaper.

Once Jeff lays his hands on Eddie, things definitely get out of hand. But it’ll take more than hot, sweaty, kinky sex to persuade him to come out of the closet—especially to himself…

Review: Hot, sweet, fun and a bit of pain for both body and soul are dished up by Jeff as he’s trained my his male sub Eddie.
I’m not huge on the gay-for-you plots, but this is more bi-for you, and the main character does not stay oblivious for long. Jeff has had some obvious marital and relationship problems and just can’t seem to figure out why.

Eddie sees the hot piece of rough meat that Jeff is and wants a bit right away. He manages to plot and scheme his way into Jeff’s bed, on his knees as a sub to help Jeff with his “problems” and introduces him into the finer tuned aspects of being a good Dom.

Before long, Eddie sees deeper layers to Jeff, layers he finds he’s starting to love and want a real bond with. Jeff is getting more and more confused each day by the fact that his successes in learning to become a better Dom are with a guy. But he finds himself attracted to more than submissive behavior in Eddie, he enjoys their banter, their easy friendship, and yes, Eddies sexual response to him.

The closer they grow together, the more nervous Jeff gets about discovery, and also about accepting that he might just bit a bit gay (or a lot!!), and Eddie fears for his own heart.

Cant’ tell you much else without giving the drama away, but Five Easy Steps is a lot of sexual fun, and yet has plenty of “aww that’s sweet” moments in it. Some of the sexual scenes are a bit clinical feeling, but they are set up as lessons after all. Over all a good entertaining read with some fun British lingo.

Reclusive Ciarnan Mac Gerailt abandoned his family legacy of blood and death magic after it nearly destroyed him. Unfortunately for Ciarnan, the Motor City can only be saved if he resumes his dark arts and joins forces with Javi Navarro, the hunter who brought the vampyre apocalypse—and hope for the future—straight to Ciarnan’s front door.

Homeless as a teen, Malcolm Bissette has found a new life at the Southern Charm. Flamboyant, he often changes his hair color on a whim. At sixteen, he crushed hard on the landscaper Reece Simpson.

Review: This is book three in the Southern Charm series. You do need to read these in order. You can find them all here https://www.totallybound.com/series/southern-charm.

On the Green Picks up with Reese. He owns a busy landscaping business. He has been dying to get hold of working the Charm and would also like to get his hands on the sexy sous chef Malcolm. He always thought he was cute but too young. Now he is a very sexy, flamboyant young man who likes colorful hair.

Malcolm was thrown out when he came out and Dakota had found him at 16, gave him a job as dishwasher and helped him rise to head sous chef. He has crushed on Reese since he first met him but Reese doesn’t seem to know he exists.

I hate to say this but I didn’t like this one near as much as the other two. It seemed a bit unconnected at times. I didn’t see where the first couple of chapters even fit in with Reese on a job elsewhere. Also, there were some places where we got scenes that had happened in other books instead of referencing back almost as if this book was in-between each of the others instead of following. So though I said this series should be read in-order you may actually enjoy reading this one on its own more. LA so the ongoing issues form the last two books ever got brought up and reconciled still.

Having said that, I do love Malcolm. Love him in all the books. He is bright and colorful (literally) I adored the reference to his hair and mood changes. I also love the energetic Dorian and cannot wait to see his story.

If you like ongoing series, charming southern towns, landscaping, cooking and some fairly hot mansex this is for you

Review: Cute Parker Smith is a fox shifter though he can’t shift. He finally sees his way to get closer to Mason, the man he’s been in love with for a while, when he saves his life and enacts the year worth of servitude owed to him by Mason. Sexy Mason Young is an Alpha wolf that is a chef. One day, not paying attention to his surroundings he is saved by a cute fox shifter. As the two get to know one another, better they each struggle with their growing feelings.

Cute story with a lot of drama and misunderstandings. I liked how Mason tried to fight his feelings for Parker. I also liked that after a while Parker started feeling as if he was taking advantage of Mason and tried to make things right. Hot sex between the two all throughout.

Great read.

Review: Botanist Henri Muller who badly scarred in a fire working on his thesis about flowers only to discover that his time is running out on his research. He learns from his assistant that there is a recluse man who grows the flowers he needs to finish his research. Ambrose is the lonely vampire who grows flowers in his greenhouse. Upon meeting Henri, he longs for the one thing that he’s never had, a mate.

Wonderfully written story. The fire was horrifying. The details of the plants in the greenhouse were hauntingly beautiful. This story simply amazed me with its loving yet intense moments. The intimate scenes between Ambrose and Henri were hot enough to scorch the pages.

Fantastic read.

Review: This book was awesome. It had me from the first line. Final Admission is one of those books that once you pick it up you cannot put it down. It’s a real page turner.

Ethan is a rather new employee in the advertising firm of Bingwell, Brock and Bacon. He is very good at what he does and moves up very fast in the firm. He meets James and his first opinion is he agrees with the office gossip and talk that James is a real Dick. In a meeting, James teases him. This makes Ethan not only more pissed at the man but also he can’t get James out from under his skin or out of his fantasies.

James looks confident and flirts with everyone. Some talk as if he is a big player. No one knows that underneath the pretty, confident, airs he is an abused spouse.

This is a very beautifully written story of spousal abuse. I like how the author added a bit of casual humor to soften the angsty storyline. It brings home the fact that no matter the status, or sex of an individual, abuse is real. I also liked that this wasn’t a love at first sight or insta love story. This relationship builds from co-workers, to friendship to more. I am also glad the author made the office a mixed sex office and not everyone in the story is gay. It had a very realistic vibe.
If you want to read a fabulous story of dealing with change of a lover, spousal abuse and recovery, this is a great one to read. I will definitely be reading more Sue Brown.

If you like office romance, friends to lovers, sexy lawyers, Spousal abuse, recovery, love, angst, loving relatives, and some pretty hot mansex this is definitely for you.

Review: Charles McLaughlin is a handsome half human, half werewolf, psychic professor who is also blind. He is asked to help protect his father’s straight werewolf pack at the peace talks. He learns that Luis Delgado, his former one nightstand will be attending as well.

Luis Delgaldo is a hot vampire psychic, that eats emotions instead of blood to survive, is part of a group called Searchlight. His job is to help protect the LGBT werewolves at the peace talks. He shocked to learn that Charles would be at the peace talks.

Charles and Luis have to figure out who is intent on disrupting the peace summit and causing harm to the werewolves, they deem polluted. Loved the details surrounding Luis and Charles psychic abilities. The description of the church and things that dwell in the walls were spooky. The sex sex between Luis and Charles was intense and hot. Fascinating book with mystery, danger, and action all throughout. All in all, it was a great read.

I would suggest reading the first series Dragon in Training before reading this one, as there were two events, that I found out are in the first series, mentioned throughout the first one hundred pages that confused me, as this is the first book I’ve read by this author.

Review: CAGED by Bey Deckard will leave you breathless and wondering what just happened. The first word that came to me when I finished this was simply WOW! I have no reservations in stating that this was one of the best books I have read this year. Being a reviewer, and overall lover of reading, I have read many this year already. Many that I have had a strong connection too. Caged is in a category of its own.

Bey Deckard is a new author, not only to me, but this is his first published novel. What a gift and talent this author possesses to write a novel of this calibre. The research he must have taken speaks highly of his devotion in capturing this story to the fullest. The details and descriptions in his novel are mind-boggling. The language transcribed is perfect for this setting and is staggering how quickly you will succumb to understand its meaning. A few authors come to mind when I think about being placed in the setting that I am reading. Bey has taken that to a new level.

Not only are you in the story witnessing the events, you are no longer present in your real life world. When you read CAGED for yourself be sure to have the time to give it the attention and dedication it demands from you. You will be doing a disservice to yourself if you don’t.

This is historical novel with pirates on the open sea. In addition, there is a sense of dark erotica always in the background waiting to make its move. I’ve read many posts where people say, “I don’t like historical, nor will I read it, ever.” To me, that is really sad that readers are not willing to open their imagination and give historical a try. How unfortunate they will never know the vast joy you will evoke from such a tale.

Yeah, some things are hard to understand. Some words are hard to translate, therefore, pulling you from the story. But if you give it a chance, I believe, you will soon be reading the words as if it is your own language. If you allow yourself to delve inside the story, the words will give you their meanings. Bey Deckard has created three, very intense, powerful, engaging, extremely sexy, intelligent, (hmm, looks as though I could go on and on) men who need each other more than they ever realize.

Jon, a young man is his early twenties, has spent his life under the dictation of his evil stepfather. After losing his mother, the only person to ever show him love, at the early age of four, Jon was never touched, hugged, nor loved by anyone, again. He has a special gift, probably the only thing that keeps his stepfather from ridding himself of Jon. He has the gift of empathy. He has always been curious to the actions and demeanour of others. He can watch someone, listen to them, mimic their behaviour, and tell if that person is lying or telling the truth. A gift his stepfather uses relentlessly against him by making him interview prisoners.

Jon’s stepfather is a lawman and he uses his power and position against Jon, daily. His whole life is about to change, unbeknownst to Jon, when he is kidnapped by a pirates and cast out into the open seas. Will he sink or swim? One look at the captain and Jon is overcome with feelings he doesn’t understand.

And the first mate, Tom, who has muscles galore and laughs at everything. But, why does he have whip marks covering his entire back? Jon doesn’t understand any of this, but soon he will. Pained by his traitorous thoughts and feelings yet to be explored, Jon will no longer be a boy of doubt but a man of fortitude and wisdom.

Captain Baltsaros and Tom are hard-headed, hard skinned, seasoned pirates who would kill you instantly and never bat an eye. These two have a lot of history together. A history they keep close to the vest and share very little of. Jon finds himself completely and whole-heartedly fascinated by both men.

He wonders what it would be like to participate in some of the late night encounters he hears from across the room. Sometimes he hears noises that sound as though they are in pain. Other times he is sure the sounds he hears are brought about by pleasure. It is very titillating for Jon as he lies quietly in the dark listening. To be a part of something, to be wanted, caressed and cherished are things he knows little about. Soon, very soon, he will know first-hand how it feels to be in the clutches of the Captain.

A position he realizes, very quickly, he wants. Being an empath, he knows he can’t trust either one. That doesn’t deter him when he finds himself under the hands and strokes of the Captain and his first mate. Jon is enthralled by both men, captivated by their strength and honed bodies. How far will he go in order to please the Captain?

Tom was a prisoner and subjected to pain and torment for many years. Rescued by the Captain and now his first mate, Tom still has nightmares and an evil streak that has no conscience. There will be times, as you read, that Tom’s pain is so poignant and gut wrenching that you may stumble through this journey.

He is at his most beautiful when he exposes his inner self to the Captain and his pleasures. You will be a witness to his turmoil, his volatile behaviour, but you quickly find yourself drawn to this man who carries so much pain and he wears the proof on his back. You will be a cheerleader for Tom hoping against hope that he can find his happy ever after. His laugh is contagious and even though is heart is damaged he carries his wants and desires like an open book.

Captain Baltsaros is an evil man to anyone who cares to look. But beyond his tough exterior, is a man who loves passionately. By way of light touches and forceful kisses, he enraptures his captive and forms a bond that scares him to his core. Their journey across the wild and open seas will have you captivated and entrenched in their world so deeply. The ending is upon you before you are ready. There is always an undercurrent that will have your own emotions brought to the forefront of this story.

Never knowing from one minute to the next what is in store for the ship and crew will have you on the edge of your seat. The secrets that have been long hidden will come out and play. As each secret is exposed your own sensibilities will keep throwing you back into confusion realizing things are never as they appear.

Bey Deckard has written a long and eventful novel that will bring you to your knees as you uncover secret after secret. You will feel exposed and vulnerable as you sit back and witness the pain and turmoil these amazing characters incur. The author has used many vivid descriptions that will drawl you in and hold you hostage, as well, as you travel across the sea. You will experience their turmoil as your own feelings ricochet from one character to the next.

This story is alive and the emotions so palpable that you will have just cause to take a break or two as you live through them. The sex between the three men is oftentimes dangerous and rough. The pleasure experienced, however, will leave you with a magnitude of feelings you have to rationalize for yourself. The character growth that the MC’s go through will leave you astonished. The crew members aboard the ship are like a beating heart that keeps it going strong. Being under duress will only strengthen the crew and you will see them at their finest.

I consider Bey Deckard a masterful storyteller who has given us words on a page that will forever be embedded in my heart. Coming soon is the sequel to Caged, titled Sacrificed, which has left me with jitters and nervous energy contemplating its content. This is not JUST a historical, not JUST a story of pirates and a crew. This is a masterpiece brought about by men with so much wisdom and experience and so much passion that the open seas is the only place large enough to let it breathe and unfold.

Regardless, the open sea has nothing on the turbulent feelings you will encounter. Amazing, amazing story that deserves an audience to celebrate, in my opinion, an award-winning debut. Kudos to Bey Deckard and his incredible gift of the written word, and for so graciously sharing it with us.

Review: Sloan McKenzie is a sweet, cute young man with an ex boyfriend who won’t leave him alone. He finally takes his brother Matthew’s advice and decides to get a guard dog. Sloan connects with Tucker, a wolf shifter, who he thinks is actually a dog and takes him home.

Tucker Gage is a sexy wolf shifter who helps rescue animals where he volunteers. After smelling his mate and learning that he needs protection, he decides to stay in wolf form.

Wonderfully written, intense action and drama are all throughout. Loved how no matter what Tucker protected Sloan with everything he had in him. Hot sex between Tucker and Sloan.

Great read.
