Blurb: Imagine losing everything you ever loved in the blink of an eye. For Clayton Palmer, that terrible fate has just become a reality as he buries his lover, Gregg, after a brief and futile battle with cancer. Now, in the house in which they shared their love for all those years, Clay’s own life is slowly fading. In a war with his ailing body, Clay reminisces over the life they shared.

Knowing time is running out, memories of their joy and sadness comes to him; vignettes forming a road map back to the man he always loved; always has and always will.

Review: Always Have, Always Will is the heart breaking and agonizing experience of what many of us imagine to be the worst horror – to be the one left behind. More prose than dialogue, the emotion and angst are high, and your only smiles will be through tears. Make no mistake. You WILL need tissues for this read.

Regret, sadness and fear are so strong in Clay. He is overcome with so much pain, loneliness and anger, but even the worst sorrow or regret cannot hide his love and loss. I am amazed by the intensity this author was able to create in such a short read. Carefully and delicately woven between past and present from Clay’s point of view, this story is haunting, frustrating and somehow loving at the same time.

My emotions truly ran the gamut as I read through my tears, my heart breaking for Clay and Gregg.

“There’s something I forgot to say…” –

I’ll never look at that phrase the same again. What beautiful prose. What a tragically beautiful story. This is my first read from author BJ Sheppard, and I know it won’t be my last.

I hope you’ll break out the tissues and read through your tears with me, because this short but amazing read is very worth your while.

Blurb: Being a Dom in secret—being mated to another wolf in secret—is something Vann has always done, but now he has the chance to be open about his whole life.

Vann grew up under the rule of an alpha at Crossways Compound, who controlled every aspect of his pack members’ lives. Used to obeying without question, Vann suddenly finds himself in a position where he can make his own decisions outside his sexual relationship. In the past, his trysts with his subby lover, Kip, have been in secret, snatched moments away from security cameras or listening devices. Now they’ve been welcomed at Highgate, a safe haven, life should work out beautifully.

But there’s something Vann has to do first. He has to return to his childhood compound to right the wrongs that were done there. Along with Kip and members of the Highgate security team, Vann has to play the biggest role of his life so far in order to bring down the alpha at Crossways and rescue some cross-bred cubs. It isn’t going to be easy, going against someone he’s been conditioned to obey, but for the sake of his pack and the safety of the cubs, he’ll do whatever it takes.

Kip is determined to be with Vann every step of the way. Usually, Kip is submissive in all aspects of their life, preferring to bow his head and only speak when he’s given permission. But their return to Crossways changes all that. The danger there is too great for Kip to wait for Vann’s instructions on everything he does. Kip knows that to keep Vann safe, he must become more dominant—or die trying.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of exhibitionism and voyeurism.

Review: This book takes place right after the events of the first book. Vann and Kip are on their way to their old compound to help fix things. This compound is where Vann and Kip lived their lives in a prison. They had to do everything that was ordered of them or suffer. They needed to even keep their mating a secret from others as the whole compound was mentored by cameras and listening devices. If they had ever been found out, they most likely both would have been killed.

Because of the fishbowl they lived in, they learned to hide everything from others. They also developed a D/s type of relationship. They are not really able to explore the full aspects of their relationship until now. And boy do they have a hot time with that. The sex scenes were well written and the BDSM was mild in my opinion.

I also liked them because both Vann and Kip were finally able to be free to be themselves and not worry about discovery. Both Vann and Kip have their issues but they deal with them together. They also draw closer to each other. They can be truly open about their wants and needs, something both of them needed to fully start to heal from the way they were forced to live.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I really like this series so far. The world the author is building has both similar and unique outlooks on the shifter world. I look forward to more books.

Review: This was a really cute and tender story. There are parts of it that will have you in tears and cheering in others.

Roger is a Druid that has seen the worst in wars. He just wants to take some time to recoup. The best place was in the home of a man he had known for a while. He had not expected Ben’s son to be there and to be grown. Lynn is a gorgeous man and amazing cook. He plays Santa when needed also because as he says he doesn’t need the fake belly. He is so damn tender-hearted and full of joy.

He is also in love with Roger. They both have to learn about each other. And with Roger’s down side, he knows he needs a bit of care. Roger wants to bring some children that were orphans from the war but doesn’t expect Lynn to go all out.

He is full of joy and is falling in love.

This story is a historical one that involves children orphaned in WW2. I have never been one to read historicals but this one is special. It has a bit of humor involved in it but is mainly a serious tone. I actually loved it and look forward to reading more by S. A. Garcia.

What a wonderful story to read when you need a book to cheer you up. It shows the love two men have for children and how they want to give them a life that is so much better than back where they are from. It caught my attention from the moment

I started reading it and kept it all the way to the end. I had a blast reading it and would recommend it to everyone. It was pretty damn amazing.

Blurb: Phin Patterson is an educational consultant dissatisfied with his job and his life. On a mission to complete one last assignment before escaping his unfulfilling career and figure out what he wants, he accepts a commission from Donald Murdock at the New York State Education Department. Suddenly, he finds himself on his way to evaluate a tiny school in New York’s Southern Tier, not far from the town where he grew up. Now his only goal is to get in, do his job, and get out before anyone from his past remembers him.

That turns out to be easier said than done. Dani Sloane, the sharp-witted administrative assistant to the principal, learns the truth about why Phin is really there. With the help of her friends, she sets out to unmask him and force the local board of education to stop the plans that could ruin their school. Discovering that her sometime-lover is an old business associate of Phin’s only complicates both the situation and their relationship.

Meanwhile, Phin, who has committed himself to keeping his emotional distance, can’t resist the charm of the town and its residents—especially the school psychologist, who turns out to be an old friend he hasn’t seen in over twenty years. While Dani works to take him down and save her school, Phin wrestles with learning how to do the right thing, including telling the truth to the man with whom he’s already falling in love.

Review: My feelings on this book are a mixed bag. This book seems like it was written by a disgruntled teacher, frustrated with the entire education system and the government’s dirty hands in it. Teaching to tests, common core, charter schools, it’s all you hear about if you talk to a teacher or are an involved parent.

On one hand, the author is preaching to the choir here, and I sympathize with the subject of this struggle…on the other, this is not what I want to read in my romance books. I want to escape reality and enjoy a fun fling for a while…not debate heady education issues.

This theme is similar to that of the sophisticated corporate raider coming in to buy out a company and sell it off in parts for profit only….than falling in love with the town and its employees. Except the subject of this book is education, the politics and gossip of teachers/administrators…and of course Phin coming back to face his youthful indiscretions.

Lower Education is a long read, it’s not terribly sexy, with the exception of Alex, but he’s got a big chip on his shoulder. I’m thinking a romance novel is not the platform from which one preaches U.S. education system woes. But that’s only my opinion.

Review: Chris Nelson is trying to solve a murder when another happens. Very well-written story with amazing details at the way Chris investigates every angle he can think of. Although he thinks he’s caught the killer, he’s wrong.

The identity of the killer was actually a surprise to me and the circumstances surrounding the reasons were heartbreaking. I just don’t get how someone could subject a family to their own beliefs in that manner. In my opinion, his grandmother abused his trust.

The crime scenes were very detailed and the detective scanned everything and made sure not to miss anything. Fantastic read.

Highly recommended.

Review: Dorian’s character is the type that really doesn’t like anyone and does his job and sends his clients on their way without becoming personally involved with them. Seth is a vampire in trouble who calls Dorian for help. Amid staying out of the hunters and the agency’s radar Seth teaches Dorian to loosen up a bit.

Interesting story with a lot of drama, a few action scenes with hunters trying to kill them and others. I really liked the whole story. Good read with some hot sex to add spice.
I did find something that concerned me about the book though. The book is total 159 pages in PDF format.

However, the actual story is only 114 pages long. There is a bio page, a publisher page and two lists of the authors books, which I understood. What confused me were all the excerpts for different books that take up about 40 something pages of the book. I felt that other readers and consumers should be informed of this, as I didn’t know myself at first.

Review: Ethan is your basic temperamental, in the closet (even in his own head) chef. Paul is his besotted sous chef, who, of course cannot fathom why said chef is exceptionally cranky that particular week. Add to that a high profile last minute event, an entertaining supporting cast of one (‘prep stud’ Jamal) and you’ve got a cute little read with a sexy hot payoff in the end.

This is my first book from author Zach Morgan, and I’m definitely in the market for more. Who doesn’t love a little kitchen romance? I sure do. Low on the angst, but not without its drama, I recommend for those who like a light sexy romance in a restaurant setting. Dig in!

Reviewer: Tams

Review: Evan and Seth are settling into a more comfortable space with their relationship after a rocky start. But Seth has been sick, easily agitated, and moody as of late. To say they are shocked to learn Seth is pregnant is an understatement, now to just figure out exactly how this happened. A memory of what Seth thought was a dream brings the truth behind his pregnancy rushing back, right before he goes into labor.

I have to say I really enjoy the slightly twilight zone aspect to this series. Alien abductions, M-preg, things that go bump in the night. And this story was more cohesive than the first giving the reader a nauseating glimpse into Seth’s abduction and how he came to be with child. Very disturbing that the alien’s are described, in my mind at least, as the rabbit in Donnie Darco.

The descriptives in this story are vivid and as a said, disturbing, but the way Holbrand has tied everything together with the first story was intriguing. While I have some issues with M-preg, it is explained in a way that is marginally believable, in an X-files sort of way. Evan and Seth’s reaction and quick acceptance was a little unrealistic as well, even in this farfetched reality.

This was still just an okay read for me as was the first installment, but the flow of the story was more cohesive and the writing wasn’t all over the place. I am intrigued to see how this all comes together and where Evan and Seth will land when it’s all said and done. So I’ll be grabbing a copy of book 3 when it comes out.

Review: Very sweet story of Geoff who saves an injured fairy, Mauve, from the elements during the winter. Growing close together, they both fall in love with the other. Only to almost loose Mauve when Geoff helps a stranger.

Sweet, intense and intriguing. I loved the whole story. The descriptions of the winter storm were amazing. I loved how Mauve didn’t care that Geoff was scarred as he saw how kind and wonderful the man was on the inside. Looks are not everything.

Great read.

Review: Absolutely hysterical – if I wasn’t giggling, I was snorting. If I wasn’t doing that, I was cackling. Fourteen pages of life according to penis – or should I say, Buddy. Complete with a cast of characters (YES, it is listed in the beginning), this catalogues Buddy’s journey to, you guessed it, the love tunnel. Buddy considers himself to be polite and smart (MENSA material if he does say so himself), and is only too happy to tell his tale.

Ridiculously funny, amazingly insightful, and just all around entertaining, Lily Velden has hit a home run with this one. Five side splitting hearts for Buddy and his story – If you ever wondered what went through a penis’ brain (because we all know they have one), or just want to laugh out loud for a few, this is the story for you.

Blurb: This book is the final episode of Season One.

It’s a new night and that means more of Théoden’s lessons, one of which I was still recuperating from. I was so out of control last night and if my current physical condition is any indicator, my brothers definitely had their way with me. As far as my relationship with Théoden goes, I can’t help but feel drawn to him. I feel as though he’s accepting me as I’m accepting him in some morbid way. I don’t know… maybe it’s because I know I don’t have any choices. There’s no way out for me. I’m his and we both know it. Maybe there’s still some fight left in me, some little nugget of Noel the man that hasn’t been consumed by Noel the vampire. One can hope. I do know that this night feels different, like I’m coming to the last lap of a long, rigorous race. What is to become of me when this night comes to an end?

Warning: This novelette series contains hardcore sexual situations between men, not meant for sensitive eyes. I’m talking crude, lewd, and full of attitude. This series will most likely either offend you or get ya revved up. This series isn’t going to be pulling any punches whatsoever, so you’ve been warned. Mature Adult Content meant for readers looking for something dark, taboo, sexy, and unapologetic in their paranormal erotica. This is NOT a romance. This novelette is approximately 28100 words.

Reviewer: KathyMac

Review: Acceptance, Book #6, in the Chained in Darkness series, and the final installment in Season 1, brings Noel full circle exposing him to many elements of his new life. He has been tortured, raped, humiliated, torn from limb to limb, and finally branded after a long journey of lessons that bring him front and center to, the ultimate goal, and acceptance. He has been accepted by Théoden, his Master, and Father, and by all of his brothers in the house, at last.

Leading up to this moment, Noel has been subjected to many horrendous acts. Some he didn’t understand, at the time, but were finally starting to make sense. As Théoden takes Noel out, once again, into the outskirts of town, he will learn some valuable lessons as to what it means to be a vampire. A vampire that is feared and above all, commands authority.

Noel tries hard to hold onto what little human compassion he has but to no avail. He understands what will happen by not completely accepting his role as a soldier in Théoden’s house. What seems to bother him and weighs heavily on him is the thrill he gets when hunting for blood, quenching his desires by other males and lusting heavily for them. As Théoden has told him many times, it is his nature, his true self, accept him, and revel in it.

The final lesson Noel will have will be one that diminishes his spirit. He must make amends with Jonah. He must accept him as his brother. He will share desires with him and vice versa. Trying to hold onto what little rebellion he has left, he outright defies this order. And, he pays dearly for this mistake. He has learned the error of his ways. To continue to defy Théoden, on anything, will only cause him to suffer. This is a fight he will not win.

He demanded a lot of me and I’d risen to the challenge fanart acceptance noel nick bella(1)each time, killing my victims, fucking them under duress and being debased by anyone he wanted to share me with. But taking the life of a child…once was more than enough to open my eyes. Then when he’s combined his other torture methods, well…let’s just say that I know my limits. I didn’t before, but now I do and he knows them, too.

As Season 1 comes to a close with Acceptance, you realize the potential for what still lies unanswered. The author has brilliantly, through 6 books, given us an inside look at the world and life that Noel, unbeknownst to him, at the time, found himself caught in. We have watched his struggle with guilt and uncertainty of his future. We stood on the sidelines as he was beaten to a pulp and tossed aside like yesterday’s garbage. Each time he miraculously fought back with abandon and won the respect of his brothers and most of all his Sire.

Nicholas Bella has held my attention throughout this entire series. There are still many things left to explore and I can’t wait to see what the next season will have. The author’s ingenuity speaks for itself with the world building he has outlined in this series. Each installment was executed effectively and efficiently giving us an inside seat to an arena full of sex, desire, greed, pain, and ultimately power.

What Noel will have to do with the power he now holds, I can only guess, but I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next. Until Season 2…Thank you Nicholas for one hell of a ride.

Their attraction is immediate, and Daisy encourages Griffin to use it to their advantage: secure the man, secure the story. Neither man has had much luck when it comes to love, and when their one night together evolves into a long weekend of rapidly intensifying feelings, both Griffin’s fierce loyalty to Daisy and his very career is put to the test.

Because the more Griffin is drawn into a new life with Jim, the more his Hollywood life falls apart. Secrets and broken trust threaten Griffin’s relationships, and he’ll have to choose between telling the truth or writing a Hollywood ending.

Review: This is book two in this amazing series and I would suggest reading them in order. Each story focuses on a new romantic couple and gives you an insight into their amazing worlds. I had such a blast reading this book and look forward to reading the next story. Jim is a sexy detective that see’s pretty much the bad in the world. He rarely ever see’s the good, that is until he meets Griffin.

Jim had arrested an evil killer and had looked forward to seeing him get what he is do. However that had not happened and the killer went free. The family of the deceased was grieving and then the next worst step happened. The husband’s wife had a fatal heart attack right after the verdict was given. Jim felt that he had failed that family. However he kept in contact with Ed.

So when Ed called him to let him know that there were people coming over to talk about making a movie about it. He just wanted to protect Ed, because the man had went through enough and also because he knew Ed was dying of cancer. He just wanted to keep this old man safe. However when he meets Griffin, he is turned the hell on.

Griffin had known from the moment he met Jim that he wanted more from him. However there were things in Griffin’s life that might just be destroyed if he pursues the story with the best intention and pursues Jim. He is afraid that his life back home will be lost. Things are heating up with Jim however and he is falling in love. However he finds out that his best friend had lied to him, and Ed’s movie might not go as planned. He is afraid of what will happen to the movie, to Ed and to the man he is falling in love with.

This is an amazing story that I fell in love with. I love how Jim and Griffin just seem to mingle well, in fact they make a wonderful couple. I loved them and wished to hear more about them. There is nothing better than a man with a gun, a sexy screen writer, excitement, suspense and some amazing sex.

I would recommend reading this, trust me you won’t regret it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me everything I could want in a story and in fact much more. I loved it and look forward to reading the next story.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

Jake has seen his friends and fellow Doms from the BDSM club Indiscreet find love with their subs. Now Jake wants the same thing. He has decided to ask the Sub Club to help him find the perfect sub for him. But before any plans can be put into play, he meets Davey. Davey tries to pickpocket Jake, but he is not very good at it. Once Jake hears Davey’s story he thinks he has found the perfect partner for himself.

Davey has never had the best in life experiences. He was a ward of the state going from foster home to group homes. Because he was small, he took the brunt of the bullying and physical abuse. But he still managed to make himself into an amazing paralegal. However due to circumstances he is now down on his luck with only twenty dollars to his name.

When he is caught by Jake, he spills his whole story out to avoid being turned into the cops. When Jake makes him an offer, that is both professional and personal, Davey takes a risk and accepts.

I liked Jake and Davey. Jake is a lawyer and knows how the world works, but still is looking for someone to love and take care of. Davey has had years of abuse behind him and never had a friend or a relationship. Davey pushes all of Jakes buttons, but Davey has big doubts about the BDSM lifestyle, as the idea of beatings and pain do not do it for him. The biggest issue the two face, is not falling in love but trust, of both each other and themselves.

This book was a little different from the others in series. This was a slow build to the more intimate aspects of their relationship. They actually start building and meshing their lives together before they even get to the sex. They start working and living together right away, and Jake takes Davey to the club to get to know everyone and learn about BDSM before anything happens in the bedroom. Jake gives Davey friends and people to talk to about what is going on. There are some conflicts and some misunderstanding but with help from their friends, they are able to work out what they need to.

This was a great addition to the series. I liked the different route it took from most of the other books in the series. But in the end, there is another happy and committed D/s couple. I look forward to more from the Sub Club and their Doms.

Review: Elliot is far from perfect. But his inner dialogue was hilarious. I enjoyed his sarcasm and view of things. Honestly, he is someone I could relate to. From the first meeting with Chase to the very end I was entertained by Elliot.
The writing was fast paced and the story moved along at a good clip.

Although here were a few things that made me think and question at the end, they did not distract from the story. This was a good short. I do so love when the not so perfect guy gets his perfect man.

Blurb: Most people would consider near perfect recall, an ability to crunch numbers that rivals a computer’s, and an uncanny knack for predicting the stock market to be remarkable gifts.

He’s not sure how a week in seclusion with nothing but his own thoughts for company will be the reprieve he needs.

Review: Kyle has been hurt and abused a good part of his life, first by his family and then a former lover. Even with his incredible mind, he has issues left over from trauma he has suffered. On the advice of his shrink, Kyle has taken a vacation to a campground in Vermont. After his GPS sends in through the no longer used back way, Kyle comes across a naked man on a picnic table. After a flash of lighting, the man is gone. But a bound has already started.

This story packs a lot into a little package and I liked it. The author was able to get in the true hell Kyle’s life was a few sentences. I got a feel for Kyle right from the start. He is a wounded young man, who has managed to survive and make a living for himself even with the issues he has. The man he meets feels a need in Kyle and makes him happy and most of all feel safe.

I have never read this author before, but after this, I think I will be checking more of their work.

Reviewer: Tams

Review: Ivy is Andari royalty, a prince who has led a sheltered life and is being basically pawned off to a Lord for the status the union will bring. Longing for just a taste of freedom before he is shackled to a loveless union, he sneaks out one night and attends a local fair where he meets a Nikari that stirs something inside Ivy he is required to keep bound until he is bonded. Of course, his father’s come looking for him, but not before Ivy has his first dance, his first kiss.

Kris is ill prepared for the feelings Ivy stirs in him. As the Nikari emperor, it would not be in his best interest to bond with an Andari, but don’t we always want what we can’t have? The Nikari emperor can have whatever, and whomever he pleases though. Kris sets an elaborate stage disguised as a masquerade ball, inviting Ivy and his father’s of course, all in an effort to get the man who has already captured his heart, into his bed.

Against all odds and almost everyone’s wishes, Ivy becomes Kris’s concubine, and eventually his bound concubine, yes there is a difference. But the relationship is not without its difficulties. Ivy is Andari for starters, and this does not make the Nikari people happy at all, especially Kris’s cousin slash brother (can’t even get into that, you’ll have to read the book) and uncle. And the same can be said for Ivy’s people where the Nikari emperor is concerned. But the attraction, the connection and the love that Ivy and Kris share is palpable and real and they are determined to make a life together.

I absolutely loved the elemental magic and the rifts between worlds that the Nikari and their Nightwolves use to travel and fight. There are words and languages used in the story that are unique to this story, but the Author starts the book out with a glossary of terms and an explanation of this world she has created so you would be hard pressed not to understand what is going on or what is being said.

Ivy starts out as a sheltered, naïve and innocent young man who wants nothing more than to be loved and appreciated. And he finds that love and appreciation in the last place anyone would have thought. The arms of the enemy. Kris wants someone to see him. The man that he is and the man that he wants to be, and Ivy truly sees him. It was beautiful watching them grow as individuals and as a couple throughout the book.

Kris’s beloved Nighwolfe, Attcha, almost stole the book. Overbearing and fiercely loyal, the nightwolves are companions to the Nikari and watch over them, travel the Rift with them. Attcha is immediately drawn to Ivy and just as protective of him as he is of Kris. It’s very much like a spirit animal sort of relationship, which blends perfectly with the root of this story, this world being based in magic.

I think this story will appeal to many readers, it is rich with content, and unexpected plot twists. The romance is passionate and electric, while being innocent and tender when needed. The storyline and the world Ankh has written here are very original as well, fresh, and enticing.

Full of magic, danger, suspense, romance and an underlying threat, a battle for Nikari that is just beginning. I’m very excited to see where the next book, Fractured Souls, takes these characters and their peoples.

Body Slave by Samantha Cayto

Author: Samantha Cayto
Genre: Science Fiction
Length: Novella (139 pages)
Publisher: Samantha Cayto (December 15th, 2014)

Blurb: In an alternate universe, the ancient concept of a slave class continues to exist. While a few countries have finally ended the brutal practice, the United States isn’t one of them. Once born a slave, one remains a slave, with only a few laws for protection against the whims of a cruel master.

Eighteen-year-old Oliver is a newly-minted pleasure slave. Trained to be a living sex toy, he has been sold to a wealthy widower. Being gay, Oliver has high hopes he will enjoy his new life. Unfortunately, his master has a sadistic streak and treats him like an object. Oliver has no choice but to endure and make the best of his lot.

Ben has reluctantly come home to help his father temporarily with the family business. He’s surprised to learn his father has bought a beautiful young slave boy to warm his bed. He doesn’t approve of slavery and is disconcerted by his attraction to the boy. Oliver is equally wary of Ben’s kindness and appeal. No other free person has ever treated him with such care.

There can never be anything between them, however, so they fight their growing desire. But despite their resolve, Oliver and Ben grow closer, tumbling into a clandestine affair. In a world in which slaves have no choice and falling in love with a freeman is the stuff of movies, they risk everything to be together.

Reader discretion is advised: slavery is inherently nonconsensual and this story contains MM sex scenes, as well as scenes of violence, that some readers may find objectionable and upsetting.

Review: While this was a very well written book I did find the scenes with so the so-called “Master” quite horrifying at times. The Master is a cruel man and enjoys being that way as far as I could tell. I wholeheartedly don’t agree with slavery in any way shape or form. So I was surprised by this story, as I didn’t read the blurb first before deciding to review it.

Oliver is a born slave bought by his first master. At first things are fine until the master punishes another slave for the dent in his car that the slave didn’t cause. I thought that was very unfair to punish someone for something they didn’t do. When Ben, the masters son, comes home, Oliver and Ben are attracted to each other but that’s dangerous for them both. I wish Oliver had belonged to Ben and not hi cruel father.

It was an o.k. read with scenes of nonconsensual or rape as I would call it, slave or not, scenes with the Master as well as tender moments between Ben and Oliver.

I would recommend reader caution with this book if you don’t normally read stories where slavery is in them.
