After being accused of sexual assault by two girls, Jim serves out his sentence in a juvenile detention facility. He’s shocked by the arrest for what he thought was consensual sex, and terrified his own childhood sexual abuse has twisted him into a predator—just like the man who molested him.

Upon release, Jim is no longer welcome at his family home, and with nowhere else to turn, he travels from Massachusetts to Michigan to live with his father’s cousin, Delia. Keeping his head down, Jim works hard at Delia’s art supply shop and prays no one will find out about the awful crime he committed. Review: I didn’t have the chance to read the four previous books in this series but from what I can tell they can be read as a standalone. Now this is the first book that I have read by this author so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. What caught me was the title, I had assumed that it was going to be humorous but that was not so. It is a story that actually comes close to what many have gone through on both sides.

A teenager starts having sex, they are run by their hormones and feelings. They don’t see the bigger picture at all, but Jim was convicted of a sexual crime by two girls he had been with. It blew him out of the water and made him afraid. After his release, he was abandoned by his family. The only place to go was to a family a few states over. He just didn’t know what to expect there.

Then he meets Manny and is afraid of how he would see him if he knew of his past. He got lucky that Delia and some others were willing to help him recover. You see he had been abused also. However the problem is that Jim did commit the crime, he did his time and is now looking for a new chance. I am not really sure what to think about it to be honest.

I actually felt more for Jim then I did anyone else. Maybe in a way that is not what one is supposed to do, but the fact that he was a teenager and they do make stupid mistakes makes it easier to do so. It has a strong message I suppose which actually did the opposite of what it should have I suppose. I wanted a love story not some story about rape and consequences so it dropped it down in points for me. It was actually a disappointment for me. I was expecting a love story and not what this book represented. After realizing that all of the books have this type of story, I realized that this book was not for me.

It was well written but I didn’t much care for it. I gave it a higher rating because of how well it was but in truth it didn’t do much for me.

Review:  Each book in the Coalition Training Academy collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.  This is a branch off of the Lost Shifter series and is a young adult type of book.  Which means pretty much no sex, because they are kids.

I have read the Lost Shifters series as well as the Wayne County Wolves and Assassin’s Loyalty series, which are branch offs as well.  So when I saw this I knew I had to grab it, however I did not take into consideration that the soldiers were just kids, so there was no juicy sex in it.  However Stephani does not let her reader’s down.

Jax’s parents are not easy to get along with.  They are shifters but his father hates that part of them.  He is a mean asshat who makes Jax’s life hell.  Now it is time to decide a human college or the academy.  He wants to be a soldier and will do everything he can to get it.  He is a surprise though, even as a lion shifter he is on the small side.

As with most kids when they make a decision, whether it is right or wrong, their hearts take on a bit.  He fears that he will let the coalition down because he is small and can’t fight.  However he is going to be very surprised and so will you.

I get a kick out of the characters in these stories; they are entertaining to say the least.  Take Shane, he is small with an angel face, and is a skilled assassin.  Never let size determine you future.  I loved this story although I wished the kids were not kids, but hey cannot get everything we want.  I just hope to hear about them in the future when they find their mates.

I had a lot of fun with this and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.  I would definitely recommend this story and the previous series as well.

Review: This series just get better and better as it progresses. I loved Noah and Fly. They completed the other as polar opposites, The twists and turns not to mention the new threats and characters added a mysterious dangerous element to already fantastic series.

I am in awe of how how well these series are interwoven and expand to include a whole cast of characters that seem to worm their way into your heart with what they have already been through and what will happen with even more goings on. I am on pins and needles to see what happens next in this series.

Review: Each book in the Sniper Team Bravo collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I came across Maia when the first book in this series came out and I have to say that she does have an amazing gift at telling a story.  I always did love a good man in a uniform who is sexy, loyal and damn good with a gun.  I also liked the fact that in the blurb she explains a bit about what the title itself means.

It is not only an entertaining tale, but is full of action, hot sex and danger.  There is just a hint of humor in it that makes it even better.  Usually it is when Sam gets called Pretty Boy, thanks to Finn but damn it is funny all the same.  Nicknames do stick with you sometimes.  What is better then two men, lets say three is hotter.

Nick and Aiden have been together for quite some time.  They knew there was something they were missing and in a war zone they found it.  Too bad it had sent the man running for the hills.  Now out of the field, they are living in a nice town, that just happens to be where Sam is.  The same Sam that ran from them.  They just needed to show him, that they wanted him for life.

Sam has always grown up as a second filler, never wanted but needed.  He had been born just to save his older brother, and when his brother died, his parents pretty much abandoned him.  To him he will never be wanted just for himself.  Now here are two men who are together, and his trust is at test.  To top it off, danger seems to keep coming for them all.

A very intriguing story that was quite a bit of fun to read.  I had to actually go back and read the whole series over once more.  I loved the characters and the way they are with each other.  They might be a sniper team but they were also a tight family.  I loved that about them and was glad that the author turned it that way.  I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: Ice takes it upon himself to stop his fathers evil ways. He meets his contact, Dima a childhood frend, the two set off to take down Dimitri and his cohorts but what they discover is so much worse than either of them could have imagined.

I was horrified by the conditions the children were kept in and what was done to them. My heart wept for all the injustices done to the shifters that had been killed on the whim of a madman. I love this series. It gets better and better with each new addition. The bad guys seem in endless supply and at times makes me wonder if the shifters will ever be free of danger. But then I’m reminded by watching the news that danger is everywhere and comes in many forms.

Fantastic addition to already epic series. Looking forward to reading more.

Review: Each book in the Council Enforcers collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in

Max and his twin Jessie were rescued from their alpha and were trying to start over in Gillham. Max however wanted to help those who rescued them, he just wasn’t to sure how to go by getting one. Then Kameron gives him a job of answering phones for paranormal’s who need help or just to listen. He had not expected to not only meet his mate, but to be partnered with him.

Dane spent years stuck in a lab and then escaping. Him and his friends had not known the ones who were doing the rescuing were good, so they ran. Now him and his friends were rescued once more by the same group and brought to Gillham. There are many things that need to be fixed and one of them is those who sold Dane.

There is nothing better then a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. They are entertaining and have just the right mix of feelings in them. There is also quite a bit of danger or excitement in it as well. This one caught my attention and kept it all the way to the very end. I love the mixture of characters that this story and the other ones have in it. Will always keep you entertained.

I love the way this author puts together a story that not only draws you in but keeps you entertained as well. They have a serious tone to them, but there is a bit of humor floating around. I do get a kick out of the whole thing.

I can’t wait to read the next book.

Review: Teacher and student relationships are usually not my thing to read but this story has a paranormal element to it that I loved. Nick is a teacher at a university and omega wolf Julian is his student. These two has some major miscommunication issues between them.

Julian leads Nick on a merry chase and does not give in easily to the man. At the same time Nick is still processing himself being an Alpha wolf and what all that entails. This is a well written and intriguing story of two men with damaged pasts finding each other and trying to make a go at it.

Lots of twists and turns keeps these men on their toes a the story progresses. This not a happy hearts and flowers kind of story. It’s dark and gritty at times but that adds to the storyline so it worked great for me.

Great read.

Review: I came across S.C. Wynne not too long ago and right off the bat I found a new author to love. S.C. Wynne’s stories are well written, fully developed and perfectly paced. The story just seemed to flow right off the pages. I knew after I finished this story that I was going to be broke because I am going to go get the rest of her books because damn they sound good.

Jason’s relationship with his father was a dream; however his relationship with his mother was the exact opposite. She was in fact not a mother at all, especially when he came out gay. So over four years ago when he turned eighteen, he left and tried never to come back. Now he has to go back as his mother is dying from cancer. He hated to go back but knew he had to. Then he met Adam.

Adam was more than just the grounds keeper; he seemed to be just magic. He had the gift to make someone relax. Adam however wanted Jason in more ways than one. He just had to help him reconnect with his mother, show him a reason to stay and help him to heal. On top of all that they needed to figure out whom the hell wanted Jason out of the way.

It comes off a bit heavy and very emotional with a lot of heat. It also has mystery added in, with a touch of danger and even a bit of pain. I loved the way these guys just mixed and how they seemed to always engage pretty well. So much so that there is a humorous banter between them, that it kicks it up for me. For the first time in my life, there was very little sex involved and it didn’t bother me. It was just so damn cute and tempting with quite a bit of heat.

I had so much fun reading this and look forward to reading more by this author. I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Each book in the Eternal Flame collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. I would also suggest reading Eternal Flames Maddox series as it is connected.

When Rory was at college and his older brother over sea’s, the worst thing that could happen had happened to Rory. It left him afraid to get close to any man and even the idea of sex had given him severe panic attacks. Now there is a serial rapist out there and one of his good friends had been attacked. Robby had been rescued before the worst could happen, but Rory was determined to stop the man. He was human but knew of the paranormal world, but he never expected to be a mate to one let alone two men.

Snake was human and a teammate of Rory’s, but it wasn’t until Ozcog showed up to protect Rory, that he found out that he was Ozzie’s mate as well as Rory’s. But their little mate was hiding something, and boy was it something big. Their hearts hurt but was determined to protect Rory as well as the town.

As always this story caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me everything that I could want in a book and so much more. Action packed, danger filled, exciting and fascinating, with some pretty hot sexy scenes is just a bit of what you get with this book. Now I will admit that the amount of characters in this story can make it a bit hard to follow but it does help me to read the previous books once more before reading their new one. I loved the characters and their quirky attitudes, but will also admit that Timmy is still my favorite.

I had quite a bit of fun reading this and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.

Review: I was intrigued when I was sent this book to read. I loved the descriptions of the planet where Sanana was sent to do his sentencing. Santana seemed rough and scary at times. La’ael was so sweet and caring toward Sanana.

I understood Sanana’s anger at having been taken away and mated to La’al with no knowledge of what that entailed. However, I thought it cruel that Sanana had La’al take him to earth just to reunite with his lover Rhyan. I mean who does that. This book ends on cliffhanger but if in the next book La’al decides Rhyan is his mate or lover as well I won’t believe it. He looked in Sanana’s memories and saw Rhyan and felt nothing but jealousy.

I really do not know how I felt about this story other than it was confusing at times what Sanana actually wanted.

O.k. read for me.

Blurb: Mate or die.

Gabriel is out of time. As the last unmated omega wolf in his superstitious pack, he faces an ultimatum: mate with an alpha, or be banished to the vicious outside world. Gabriel knows he won’t survive out there, but he doesn’t have much of a choice. It’s stay and mate, or leave and die.

But Gabriel wants to make his own choice. Despite the dangers, he leaves the pack. When violent humans threaten him with death or worse, Gabriel accepts his fate – until a gorgeous alpha dragon appears and saves him from a certain demise.

Fight for love.

Dante hadn’t intended to find a mate. As an alpha shifter with the hybrid powers of dragon and wolf, he’s gifted with immortality and power. He’d rather be at home with his books than escorting a scout over the lands and searching for new omegas to bring back to their tribe.

But when Dante sees an omega wolf fall into the hands of cruel raiders outside the pack’s walls, he feels the spark. Gabriel is his fated mate. Dante refuses to find his mate and lose him in the same night. Dante will fight tooth and talon to protect Gabriel, and doesn’t care what stands in his way.

Review: Gabriel’s pack has lived behind the walls for as long as he could remember. They knew that by going out they would die by the hands of the humans. One omega had left long ago only to die by their hands, or so they think. No one really knows. The laws state that if an omega doesn’t take the hand of an alpha they are forced to leave. Basically being sentenced to death. Gabe however didn’t want an alpha, he wanted a fated mate. Just those words are outlawed pretty much. Ass backwards pack if you tell me.

Dante had not wanted to leave his home but knew he had to basically keep his friend safe while she searched for omega’s who wanted to come with them. However he heard a cry and went to find out. What he found was his fated mate about to die. Thing is his mate is as stubborn as all gets out and boy is he trouble.

This is the first time I had read a story written by this author so I wasn’t really sure what I would get. It is a very fascinating story that has a unique twist to it. Dante is a dragon shifter who can shift into a wolf. They also have magical abilities as well. However even though it is a unique and fresh idea, it is also well used in the alpha/omega sense. It flows nice but it jumps from saving, to meeting, to mating, to having a baby and so forth. It made the story just a bit off to me. It just needs more to it. To many inconsistencies to really make the story rock for me. For one the words fated mate were basically outlawed, but how did Gabe not know that if he was born there.

It has a few problems that could be fixed, but it is the first book in the series so I am hoping that there are more to the next ones. It was a very entertaining read and did keep my attention pretty much through it all. I just hope the next book doesn’t come off rushed. For now I will continue to read the rest of the series once they come out.

Review: While I’m not a fan of historical romances by themselves this one has an added element of mystery and thriller which delighted me from the moment it came about. Jeremy and David meet at a party and the sparks fly. Despite their different stations they gravitate towards one another while at the same time struggling with the circumstances they find themselves thrust into.

I loved how the mystery played out and the ‘who done it’. Wonderful thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader wanting more. I certainly did. I do not want to give away the story so I won’t go into details about anything.

The time period was described so accurately I felt as though I was there witnessing the events taking place as they happened. This is a great story with romance, that was sweet and hot at times, with drama, mystery and self discovery.

A truly wonderful story.

Great read.

Blurb: How can you trust anyone when you don’t trust yourself?

Xander has been told he’s too big all his life, first by his mother before she left when he was nine, then by everyone else. At six feet eight, he knows that’s true, and it makes for a lonely life when most of the guys he likes are afraid he’ll hurt them. He doesn’t need love, though, and he’s focused on his friends and his job as a council enforcer.

Muirgeh is the leader of the Chardon tribe, and he wants out. He never wanted to rule, but he had no choice when his parents died. He’s retiring, though, or at least he would if he could find someone to take his place. Several tribe members are jockeying for the job, and some of them are going too far, threatening him until he has no choice but to call in the council.

Neither man expected to meet his mate, and they have so much to deal with that their relationship stays on the back burner, at least in the beginning. Between the threats against Muirgeh, his need to find an heir, and Xander’s mother coming back into his life, they’ll have to rely on each other—or lose their chance at a relationship.

Review: Each book in the Council Enforcers collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This story is branched off into many directions so there is a lot of fun out there.

Muirgeh is the leader of his tribe and he hated it. He never wanted it and was stuck doing it for close to twenty years and now he was ready to leave for good. His tribe had at one time been pretty good but now they were like spoiled children, except children were easily taken care of. This tribe was just plain crazy, first women pushing their daughters at him to men wanting them to chose them. However it would seem someone was just pushing to hard, a bit dangerous in his mind, he needed help. He just hadn’t expected the help to be his mate.

Xander is a human enforcer and absolutely loved it. He had an amazing father and some pretty cool friends, but no one to call his own. He was afraid to hurt someone with his size, and when he finds a cute, sexy and very small nix was his mate, well you can guess. To top it off his mother who he hasn’t seen in quite sometimes wants something, well by the time ends he is going to need a shrink.

I would have suggested blowing up the tribe instead of trying to hand it over to his second. A second that didn’t want it any more then he had wanted it. The whole group is just about as nutty as you get and it was time to figure out what the hell to do. This story caught my attention from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the end. It was a more serious toned story then you normally get from this amazing author, but it was still a pretty good read. Action, adventure, hot sexy time, violence and danger are just a bit of what you get with this story.

I had a blast reading it and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Review: Nobody’s Son is the third book in Shae O’Connor’s series, Sons. I recommend reading books 1 and 2 beforehand because there are a lot of interconnecting characters between the books. However, each book focuses on a different romantic couple and so can also be read as a standalone book.

In saying all that, I seriously had forgotten that I had read books 1 and 2 of the series (*turns beet red in embarrassment*). Then I was reading some of the books minor characters in the when they were first introduced and it all clicked to me. All in all, though, this is a great series to read and Nobody’s Son is a wonderful addition and add new depth to the series and the characters we had met in the first books.

The story is about Shaun and Conrad (aka Con). Shaun is such a sweet guy and in total contrast to his bosses and the people around him that work at the exclusively gay resort outside of Atlanta. He was raised by his mother and grandmother, before his mother was killed in the line of duty as a cop. Now all he has is his grandmother, as well as a sort of step father figure in Darnell, who had been dating his mother at the time of her death. Shaun is scared to lose what little he has by coming out, but then he meets Con at work. From there, everything changes. All of a sudden he has found a guy he likes more than a little, he has a man claiming to be his father but clearly has ulterior motives and then there is Darnell, who after ten years has started dating again.

As for Con, he’s really just an awesome guy. He’s all muscle and he’s tall. He’s come to the resort to install a new computer, server and security system. Honestly, the one downfall of this book for me is that there isn’t a lot more of Con’s story. He is there for Shaun the whole way and in general is a wonderful guy – the chemistry between them was hot – but I would have liked to know more of his POV. The book is, after all, exclusively Shaun’s POV.

Regardless I love the characters, their depth and the various interactions. I particularly liked learning of Shaun’s family life, with his grandmother and Darnell. Both characters were a wonderful addition and it is easy to see how it was written that these two shaped Shaun’s early and teenage years. The relationship, very much like father and son, between Shaun and Darnell is perfectly sweet.

I won’t continue raving on. I can’t stop recommending this book. The first couple books were definitely more niche tastes, but this book is more of a general love story that I think everyone could get behind.
