A cold case comes back to haunt Vic when a murdered woman’s ghost begs Simon for justice. When Simon gets a vision of the next victim before the crime occurs, he realizes that all the murders are supernaturally linked. Catching the murderer will take his psychic sleuthing skills along with Vic’s street smarts to avert a tragedy. Can they do right by ghosts past, present and yet-to-come without ending up in the crosshairs of a killer for Christmas?
Lucky Town contains sexually explicit material intended for adults 18 and over.
Review: Simon and Vic head to Pittsburgh to spend Thanksgiving with Vic’s family. It’s a lively and entertaining holiday until a ghost intrudes and asks for Simon’s help about her murder. What they discover is she passed by mysterious means and the perp is not finished.
I really enjoyed the whole story. It was well balanced and entertaining. The mystery part was intriguing and kept me on my toes. Simon and Vic are a great couple to read about.

Marry me for 1 year. Payment: $1.2 million.
Hayden Somerset is convinced the ad is a joke, but he responds anyway because, hello, $1.2 million. He’s broke, living in a tiny apartment with two roommates, and exhausted from praying his ancient car survives just one more week. His skyrocketing rent and crushing student loans aren’t helping either. At this point, there isn’t much Hayden wouldn’t do for that kind of cash.
The ad isn’t a joke. Jesse Ambrose is absolutely serious. His father, the charismatic patriarch of a powerful Hollywood dynasty, has his eye on politics, and he’s counting on California’s liberals and progressives to elect him. But Jesse knows what his father believes when cameras and voters aren’t around. As the election looms, he’ll do anything to force the man’s hand and show the public who Isaac Ambrose really is.
Anything, including marrying a stranger so his father will make good on his promise to disown Jesse if he ever takes a husband.
Now he just has to wait for his father to take the bait… and try not to accidentally fall in love with his fake husband.
L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…

Jessamyn Kingley
A young wizard, a noble duke, and the potion that changes D’Vaire forever.
Since arriving at the Draconis Court of D’Vaire at the age of sixteen, Idris has done everything he can think of to make his new family proud of him. After five years of challenging work, he is finally poised to reach the highest rank within the Spectra Wizardry. The only glaring thing missing is his mate. While he may be young, Idris wants to share his heart with his other half, so he asks Fate to send him a nice dragon who will be kind to him and his familiar. He does not want to be demanding but Idris knows without him he won’t be complete.
Duke Macardle “Mac” Stenetdraconis’s days are centered around his amazing grandparents who raised him. When his grandfather suggests he apply for a new duke position at Court D’Vaire, he is intrigued. It is a place that has opened its doors as a sanctuary and he’s drawn to the idea of helping others. When he arrives, he finds himself with a small dragon familiar on his lap. Minutes later, the owner of that familiar saunters through the door and Mac’s heart is instantly hooked on the irresistible wizard. Determined to make Idris his, the pair soon find themselves tested by life. Their love turns out to the anchor Mac cannot do without while Idris opens the door to a new future for his family.
Blurb: Jake Tanner is a gay asexual man who finds peace on his small Australian farm and is content to lead a quiet life taking care of his animals. Then a random act of kindness on his part sets in motion a complex series of events that results in him playing the piano in a local pub and meeting Damien Jamieson, a sexy gay biker with a penchant for leather. Damien finds Jake instantly irresistible, but that could be the worst thing for their budding relationship, as Damien is determined to bed the reluctant Jake. However, Jake has no intention of going along with his plan. If there’s a chance for anything between them, Damien will have to figure out how to turn Jake on without scaring him off.
Review: Wow! I never understood fully asexuality and I think this story of sexual differences and strong attraction gives me a new insight. Jake Tanner has been hurt and rejected, living a life that has him both discriminated against my homophobes and ostracized as a prude by the gay men he’s been involved with in the past. No one understands, so he just avoids the frustration and heartbreak by not getting involved.
Damien is sex on a stick, with a kink for control that instantly scares Jake away. Which makes Damien’s strong attraction is pretty big problem. How can Jack not get turned on, how can he live a full life without the intense sexual interactions Damien is used to? It’s basic human nature right? Maybe the right person just hasn’t come along and Damien can convince Jack? But that can evolve into pain, and heartbreak, mistrust, and violation.
Will Jake ever find someone who understands him? Will Damien find the key to Jake’s heart and be what he needs in bed also? A great listen with surprising challenges and answers that are unique and passionate.
Jonathan’s narration is smooth with a good tempo, I only wish there was an Australian accent to go along with this outback story.
I really have enjoyed everything that Jack Byrne has put together and ACE is another excellent read.
Blurb: All hands on deck for a shipboard romance—with a secret.
Like his cousins, Devin Walker aspires to be a chef, but he wants to indulge his wanderlust while feeding his customers, and working a cruise ship seems like the solution. Since he can’t find an opening in the kitchen, he’s happy to start out in a position behind the bar.
While onboard Poseidon’s Pearl, Devin is assigned to shepherd a visiting executive. Paul Bailey is quiet and unassuming, and a car accident that cost him his leg also shattered his confidence. He doesn’t think he’s attractive to other men anymore, and Devin is eager to show him just how wrong he is. Paul has a surprising secret that might sink their passionate affair before it even leaves port.
Review: Seeking Solace is the third book in Ari McKay’s series The Walker Boys. It isn’t essential that you read the previous books, though it would probably make life easier when one of the MCs, Devin Walker, talks about his family back home in Buffalo Lick, Texas. It was also pretty damn cool that we saw the brief reappearance of Jake and Beau from book 1.
Much like the previous two books, Seeking Solace is a sweet and simple romance at heart. Of course, there is a good dose of drama, mostly fueled by miscommunication and running away from one’s problems, but it is a fun and adorable story where the chemistry between the two MCs is completely believable. At the same time, it makes me want a Paul Mercer all of my own (seriously, dude, where are you IRL?)
The story is about Devin Walker, one of the famous Walker boys from Buffalo Lick, Texas. Unlike his many cousins, he had it a little tougher time growing up when people out of town hurled racial abuse at him. Luckily, the locals couldn’t say anything about Devin being part Native-American with a pack of cousins who would not take any shit from anyone about one of their own. Like many others in family, he has the cooking bug. He wants to be a chef but before he can get there, Devin is working as a bar tender on a cruise ship, where he meets Paul Bailey.
The only thing is Paul Bailey is Paul Mercer. Paul is using his mother’s maiden name so that the workers don’t realize that he is in fact the heir of the cruise line company. He just wants to be seen as another exec who has to spend time on ship before settling into a job at head office. Devin becomes Paul’s staff liaison and the two quickly develop a friendship that becomes something a lot more meaningful.
The only problem is, is that when Devin discovers Paul’s true surname, he feels betrayed and goes back to the only place he knows to recover. Paul is confused why he didn’t see Devin and again and when he discovers what has happened he is determined and sweet enough to take the biggest risk.
These guys are well suited. Their chemistry is strong but there is something deeper to it than their physical attraction, which does bring in something of an instalove aspect to the book. This is the perfect escape book for a relatable and relatively uncomplicated romance. Fans of the previous books in the series or fans of Ari McKay or people that simply love the romance and sappiness that comes from many Dreamspun Desire books, you won’t be disappointed. For anyone else, if you’re into simple and sweet romances then this is the book for you.
Blurb: What lurks in the dark is not always a monster. Sometimes it’s your deepest desire.
Quiet and steadfast, Emil has remade himself from botanist to chef. Taking care of people is what he does best. He hates having to fight the war with Dracul, but his loyalty to his captain forces him to do no less. Unlike others of his species, he has formed no intimate bonds and has no intention of doing so. That way lies sadness. He takes his pleasure from feeding those he loves, content with his destiny. That is until he runs into an abused boy who needs more than a good meal.
All turning eighteen means to Jase is that now the man who he is forced to call Master can abuse him publicly. A victim of sex trafficking, Jase only knows one way of life-brutal submission to whichever man claims him. When his Master joins Club Lux, it’s more of the same until he finds himself in the hands of its strange chef.
Circumstances force Emil into a new and frightening role and Jase into the arms of a scary and unfathomable Master. Emil is worse than any man—or so Jase thinks, when Emil’s alien nature comes out. Jase wants to be a good slave and Emil frets about saving Jase from himself. While they try to find their way, a vicious crew member begins to terrorize Boston. Now Emil fights on two fronts—the scariest being that he will fail Jase.
Review: Each book in the Alien Blood Wars collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Jase has one hell of a nasty life. His father passed when he was just a young kid so he didn’t really remember him. Then his mother remarried and lets just say the man gave him the creeps. When his mother was killed it left him in the arms of a monster. A monster that ended up selling him. His latest master has had him since he was fifteen and he thought maybe death was the only way out. That is until a new kind of monster showed up, but this one was a good monster.
Emil is what is known as a vampire but it goes even further than that, the man was an alien. He was trained to fight, take care of plants and a chemist. What he loved to do is to cook. One notice of the new boy in the club has his heartbeat rising fast. However not in the one way you would think.
This book contains scenes of drug use and rape so beware. The way the author twists the old Dracula legend into the story we have now is pretty amazing. When they crashed into earth it changed many things for them. It separated many of the groups into the groups there are in now. Dracul led one group, a group that wanted death to humans and to rule the world. Then there is Emil’s leader Alex, a group that just wanted to live in peace. You have action and danger just flowing in this story and lets just say it is perfectly timed. The story had a fast paced that seem to work for this story. I didn’t care for the abuse Jase went through in the book, however it seemed to work. It made you feel quite a bit for the young man.
It is very entertaining and quite fresh. I can’t say that it is one of my favorites or that it will be read more than once, but it was still a pretty good book. It was missing something to me to make the story rock all the way. It is a very engaging book that kept my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end.
I enjoyed reading the book and look forward to the next one. I will also admit that I don’t care to read about the abuse Dracul dishes out to the two young men in his home and hope that their rescue is coming real soon. However as I said I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it.
Captain Jamie Callahan knows the Metahuman Defense Force frowns on fraternization. For once in his life, he’s breaking all the rules. Having Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan on his team and in his bed is worth the risk of being found out. When a mission comes down requiring Alpha Team to go undercover in order to infiltrate a criminal alliance, Jamie knows it won’t be easy. Putting his family’s name on the line is nothing compared to the role the MDF wants him to play—that of a billionaire’s son, discharged from the military, with a lover on his arm, looking to make his own shady business deals.
Dirty little secret.
Kyle knows the only way to be with Jamie is to hide their relationship from their superiors. Waking up to Jamie at home is more important than being together in public, or so Kyle thought, until he comes face to face with what he’s been missing. Pretending to be a couple on paper for the sake of the mission thrusts Kyle into a world of incredible wealth and a social status he’s not sure he belongs in, but he’ll do anything to stay by Jamie’s side.
Play the game to win.
Surrounded by the enemy, Jamie and Kyle need to trust each other now more than ever. Their covers—and the life they’re trying to build together—depend on it.
In the Ruins is a 105k word steamy gay sci-fi military romance with a HFN ending that skirts HEA. There is military violence within the story that may not be suitable for everyone, as well as explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is a sequel to In the Wreckage and reading the first book in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.
Review: Jamie and his team go undercover as he and Kyle grow closer. His character is his old self as Jamie Callahan a ruthless arrogant business man. The team along with other agencies hope to thwart a terrorist attack and find out who is running things.
Things do not go as planned and people end up getting hurt. There are new metahumans introduced by the other agencies. Jamie and his father are at odds as is the norm for them. I really liked that Jamie insisted that Kyle play his lover on the mission so they could have a chance at actually being together in public.
The only thing that irritated me about the story was that I was expecting a different character to be the MC. I hope to learn more about the other male characters on the team soon.
Fantastic story with tense moments as well as action.
Asher has known Terry was his mate for years. They grew up together, and he kept his secret for fear of losing both his best friend and the only family he had after his aunt died. Besides, Terry is straight, and he has a girlfriend.
When Terry’s girlfriend dumps him, he goes home to his father—and Asher. He knows they’ll both take care of him, even though he’s not hurting as much as he should be. How can he when he’s been in love with Asher for more than ten years?
Asher is tasked to take a drunken Terry back home, and he makes the mistake of telling him they’re mates, thinking he’s sleeping and won’t even hear it. But Terry does, and he confronts Asher the next morning, angry and hurt.
Will Terry be able to get over those feelings and finally have Asher in his life as his mate?
Review: Each book in the Wyoming Shifters: 12 Years Later collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This series is connected to the Whitedell Pride and Gillham Pack series.
That is one of the best things about this author, the characters are so different from one another. You not only get your wolves and felines, but so many other types as well. I came across Catherine’s books when she wrote her first book for Whitedell Pride series. I fell in love with the characters right from the start. And now we get the children’s love story twelve years in the future. They have grown up and boy can you see it. Asher knew his best friend Terry was his mate when they were still kids. Fear of loosing him, he never said a word. Then when he lost his mother, and Terry started dating girls, well he just kept his mouth shut. Secrets never stay secret for to long though.
Terry has broken up with his girl friend and needs to go home to unwind. When he was a kid, he hated the life they were living. His mother was gone, and his human father was a shifters mate. Not only a shifter but a man at that. Boy did he give them hell. Time changes things slowly though. His best friend was a wolf shifter and he loved him. So Terry was keeping secrets as well. These two just need to figure it out, and boy do they ever.
A little bit of danger added in and this story just rocked perfectly. I loved the excitement, danger, lust and story line. It is going to make a great start to a new series and I can not wait to get my hands on the next story. I do love when an author gives us a look into the future with the kids. Gives a new start to life better I would say. I had a lot of fun with this and would definitely recommend it.
Blurb: After five years of searching, Thane, the eldest of his brothers, has given up on ever finding his mate. So when he goes to confront a trespasser on his land, he’s surprised to discover an Omega wolf covered in Wiccan symbols and barely clinging to life. He’s even more shocked when he realizes this pitiful creature is his mate.
Fionn, rejected by his first mate for failing to conceive a child, is barely tolerated by his family. After a local Coven curses him, he escapes death at the hands of his Pack and flees across the river. He wakes in the company of a gruff bear shifter who declares Fionn to be his mate despite the curse that’s slowly killing him. As Thane cares for him, Fionn gradually begins to trust his intentions.
When Thane comes up with a plan to save Fionn, with the help of another Coven, it leads them on a path neither had expected but that they seem fated to follow. But both Fionn and Thane are hiding secrets from one another, secrets that threaten the fragile relationship they’ve begun to build.
Alpha Bound is a 43,000-word paranormal romance with a happy ending and no major cliffhangers. It contains some language and scenes not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen. It contains references to mpreg.
Review: An amazing journey for Fionn and Thane. Even though Fionn journey is not easy by any means he’s a strong wolf though he does not think so. I loved how Thane did not give up on him no matter what.
The history of the shifters, the darkness and the magic all culminated in a story that had me on the edge of my seat. Not everything is hearts and roses for the couple as past revelations come to light that threaten their lives.
I Loved everything about the story as it progressed. I was especially intrigued by Fionn gaining Wiccan powers even though he’s a shifter.

Malachi ran into town for errands, unknowingly heading right toward his mates. He’s baffled that Robbie and Abner have been together for weeks, and Abner is clueless about mates. When a rogue terrorizes the town and a deer starts stalking Robbie, it’s up to Malachi to set the holiday right and show his men that sometimes three is better than two.
Review: Each book in the Brac Village collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. However with this series, I would start reading Brac Pack first. It will lead you into Christian’s Coven, Zeus’s Pack, Demon Warriors and so forth. This is one action packed adventure.
Robbie and Abner have been mated just a few weeks, however Robbie has been hiding a secret from Abner, or so he thinks. He is an impala shifter. It is almost Christmas time, but to Robbie that is one day away from hell. Abner however loves the holiday and whats more he loves Robbie. He is a human living in a paranormal world, although he only thinks bear shifters exist. His eyes are about to be open to a lot more, especially when Malachi shows up.
Malachi is a panther shifter and he has found his mates, two of them, who would have thought. Although it was not the best of meeting them since he drenched them with muddy water. Things are going to get crazy, especially since a deer is stalking Robbie and there is a rogue on the loose.
As always Lynn has done an amazing job with this story. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. Although Kota will be begging Blair’s forgiveness. As always this is a world I would love to live in. Sexy men who turn into shifters, crazy mates, danger and excitement and hot sex is just a bit of what you get with this story. I had a blast reading it and can not wait to get my hands on the next book.
Blurb: The last thing Sebastian Zeller wants is to be pack Alpha. But when the pack leader, his uncle Ron, is attacked, he has no choice but to leave his beloved Colorado mountains and fulfill his duty as Ron’s heir – at least until his uncle recovers. In the meantime, he intends to lure the attacker out…and make them pay.
When Ron gets wind of Sebastian’s plan to catch the attacker, he doesn’t like the idea of risking his heir. That’s where Jaxon Reedis comes in – he’ll balance protecting the dark and sexy werewolf with pretending to be his personal assistant. He’s walking a fine line that requires all his foxy wit and craftiness…and that’s on top of the inescapable feeling that he and Sebastian are meant for each other. When the attacker returns, will they be able to maintain their deepening bond when danger threatens to tear down everything they’re building?
Review: The Wolf’s Man Friday is book 2 in Julia Talbot’s Nose to Tail Inc. series. If you’re like me and haven’t read book 1, it is fine to dive right into book 2 without any problems whatsoever. I still haven’t gotten around to get the first book at least onto my TBR pile, despite the fact that I’ve listened to the audio for this book, as well as having read the blurb of book 1. I can’t believe that it’s slipped my mind still because I really do want to get my hands on it. The book is super fun, with a good dash of action.
This is the story of Sebastian Zellar and Jaxon Reedis. Sebastian is an artist at heart and run’s his uncle’s textile company. However, his uncle Ron, who basically raised Sebastian from a young age, was attacked and two of his men were killed. Of course, Sebastian can’t let this go and he wants to find out who’s responsible. Knowing this about his nephew, Ron hires protection for Sebastian, not wanting his beloved nephew to get himself killed.
That’s where Jaxon comes in. Jaxon works for Nose and Tails Inc., a staffing agency. Jaxon’s boss knows that he is the best man to keep an Seb for Ron. Jaxon also explains that he was trained as a butler and so working as a PA is an easy role to ease into. Jaxon has to work hard to keep an eye on Seb. And when circumstances bring them closer, tension is added when the guys give into their sexual desires but don’t accept their mating bond straight away.
Both MCs are charismatic and totally charming – even if Sebastian is a grumpy wolf! I particularly liked Jaxon, he’s a bouncy, agile fox who has been hired by Sebastian’s father to be Sebastian’s bodyguard while masquerading as his PA. I also enjoyed the secondary characters as well, particularly Sebastian’s friends, Allan, his partner in crime, and Tyrone, an elk shifter who has known Seb and Allan for years and is now Seb’s driver. The overall plot was good except that I felt it a little slow in some places, but nothing that didn’t bother me too much. This is a great adventure – many fans of shape shifter books will find this one a satisfying read.
