Blurb: Magical species must never mix.

According to the rules, Simon Osborne should ignore the children’s cries for help. After all, they’re werewolf cubs, and he’s an apprentice mage. But for once in his life, Simon breaks the rules and rescues the cubs, saving them from a demon intent on draining them of their magic.

Of course, all actions have consequences, and Simon’s bold move earns him the displeasure of his peers and the attention of the cubs’ alpha, a man named Gray Townsend.

The last thing Gray needs is a mage in his life, but Simon did save his son. Since Simon is now a friend of the pack, Gray doesn’t have much choice about it—or the forbidden attraction that goes along with it. Unfortunately for the alpha, he needs Simon’s help to track down the demon behind the kidnappings—before it strikes again. Simon and Gray must join forces to protect the pack, even as they struggle to resist the temptation that threatens to destroy them both.

So much happens in this amazing story. Simon, a mage, helps wolf children in trouble. He meets Alpha Gray and the attraction is instant. But mix paranormal pairings are frowned on. They team up to get to the bottom of the kidnapping and who is behind it. What they discover along the way rocks their world.

I loved everything about this story from the colorful characters and the creative way they are introduced to the details about certain things about Simon’s heritage. I was enthralled from to finish and am looking forward to continuing to read more about the three types of magic, what happens with the conclave and seeing what new issues arrive for the new allies.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Pixie’s Review: 💖💖💖💖💖 5 Hearts

Simon breaks the rules when he saves some werewolf cubs from a demon and two humans. He becomes further involved when their alpha (Gray) asks for his help and lands in further trouble when he saves Garon’s (Gray’s son’s) life. Gray needs all the help that he can get when it comes to Others, because they don’t mix he has no clue how to deal with the problem of the demon. With the help of Simon, they just might get to the truth.

This is an extremely well written fantasy that grips you from the start. Simon breaks the Mage’s rules when he goes to the rescue of some werewolf cubs. Even knowing that he will be punished doesn’t stop him from helping them… and then he has to face their Alpha who he feels an instant attraction to. But, the troubles that he faces just keep coming as he has to face his Master and then coming to Garon’s rescue again, all while feeling ill from a magical attack. Gray also feels the attraction, but his concern is for his pack and the demon who took the cubs. As they work together to get to the bottom of the problem, secrets emerge from Simon’s family history.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found the characters to be enchanting, the storyline incredible and the plot great. Macy Blake has wrote a fantastic piece of work that draws you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go as you discover the well woven plot and the intrigue and secrets and deceptions of this fantasy world.

I loved the way that the supernatural circles were set up; each species keeps to themselves and has no interaction with the Others, instant distrust towards Others and it is filled with a world of possibilities. In this story, we have werewolves, mages, a demon and a vampire, the background building is brilliant and we get an idea of the everyday workings of werewolves and mages.

The characters in this book were great and I especially loved the cubs, Garon and Emily, and their personalities. The adults were good as well, with Simon and Gray being a good match, but the one who intrigued me the most was Cormac and I would love to learn more about him (hint). There are some really hot scenes between Simon and Gray. I loved the way that they worked together and just seemed to fit so well together. The way that the pack was described as a huge family and the interactions between them warmed the heart, but the way that the mages worked left me feeling sorry for the loneliness that they most all feel.

With this one, I am going to recommend it to everyone who loves fantasy, shifters, mages, vampires, demons, unexpected danger, intrigue, hot sex and a fantastic storyline… I advise everyone to give this a go because I really don’t think that you will be disappointed if you give this one a shot.

Blurb: Snow, steam, and a second chance.

Reluctant socialite Kai has thirty-five days before his family starts shooting the next season of their reality TV show, revealing a life he’d rather keep private—and one that feels increasingly scripted. Desperately needing a break, Kai escapes to his childhood best friend Hiro Asada’s inn in rural Japan. He finds peace in the thousand-year-old hot springs, but his yearning for Hiro resurfaces at the worst time: Hiro is about to inherit the inn, and his parents expect him to marry within the year.

Hiro’s traditional family loves him for who he is, but they can’t imagine two men running the inn. Meanwhile, Kai has a TV contract his lawyer insists can’t be broken. Hiro and Kai need to think outside the box—and solve their problems before Christmas Day, when Kai’s show shoots its annual holiday special.

Review: The Winter Quarters is a standalone Holiday novel by Anna Veriani for Dreamspun Desires. Veriani is a new author for me, however, reading the blurb I saw the sweetness that I’ve come to expect from Dreamspun Desires so I was keen to give this a go.

Kai is a reluctant socialite to say the least. His family have a reality TV show that is somewhat comparable to Keeping Up With the Kardashians where his mother is the self-proclaimed matriarch of the family. And he really doesn’t like the attention or the whole farce of the thing. He only has little over a month before the show starts shooting again, so Kai decides to escape to the one place that had always made him happy as a child, the picturesque inn that is owned and run by his best friend Hiro in rural Japan. Spending time with Hiro leads to revealing a number of untold revelations and leads Kai to finally take the plunge to get out of his hated reality TV show contract.

Both Kai and Hiro are sweet characters, and while not overly developed I found it so easy to connect to their emotions. The romance was really sweet and satisfying.

This is a book that is full of heart and sweetness and very little angst. For people that like friends to lovers storylines, this is a book I recommend for you. I also recommend this book for people that like the glitz and glamour of a socialite family.

Blurb: Lennox Freeman (Free) is one of the best hackers in the world which has caused him to spend most of his life on the run. Never able to put down roots, he couldn’t trust anyone not to take advantage of him, even his own family.

Ivan Hart has lived and bled one creed all of his life: To Serve and Protect. His intense focus and determination in law enforcement has led him to finally commanding his own team. He’d worked hard to put together a squad of badasses capable of backing up a very dangerous team of detectives. Being God and Day’s last line of defense came with a lot of responsibility that he took very seriously.

After his divorce was final Hart turned right around and remarried his job. He had his good friends there in the office with him every day, so it was easier to ignore the few quiet hours he spent at home alone each night. He’d settled well into his new routine and was comfortable with it. Then God decided to disrupt everything by hiring another tech specialist for his department. A man whose brains, trendy looks, and voice would leave Hart tongue-tied and captivated at their first introduction.

Review: His Hart’s Command is the sixth book in A.E. Via’s fantastic series, Nothing Special, which follows the love lives and the action at work of the elite Atlanta PD drug taskforce led by Lieutenants God and Day.

His Hart’s Command continues with the same intensity and tone as the five previous books in the series. It’s seamless transition between books and Via has this wonderful knack to mix hot, steamy sexual attraction with a complex storyline. I find every minute – either as an audio or on page – compelling and interesting. While it’s impossible for me to relate to tough alpha males who work in a high stakes, possibly deadly line of work, I love that they also feel like they aren’t extraordinary human wonders that no one could possibly understand. I love that this series doesn’t forget the guys who we’ve already seen find the love of their lives, because we get to see that they are human and that even down the track these are still have their own issues cropping up from time to time.

Aiden Snow, who has performed the narration for the entire series so far, continues a fantastic job and really just completes the job of getting me engrossed in the world of the guys on God and Day’s team. Snow’s voice suits the action and the passion throughout the book, as well as hitting the emotions and uncertainty. The part that has me in awe the most is how Snow has managed to give all the characters in this series their own voices and portrays them so well. After all, just because the guys in the previous books found their men doesn’t mean that we don’t see them all the time in subsequent books and continue to see more of their stories.

His Hart’s Command starts with Lennox Freeman (aka Free). He got onto Day and God’s team with a brief introduction in book 5, he’s one of the best hackers around and his skills has landed him in trouble, so much so he’s always struggled to make roots from himself. Until now that is, now that he has been invited to be God and Day’s team’s technical eyes and ears when his friend (and the team’s previous hacker) became a field cop. Free is getting comfortable in his new life and there is one man that has him intrigued, Ivan Hart.

Ivan is the leader of the SWAT team who is more often than not providing back up for God’s and Day’s team. He loves his job. It is perhaps his greatest passion. He prides himself on his expertise. Meanwhile his personal life is in disarray. He is recently divorced and since the end of his marriage he has thrown even more of himself into his job. But things change when Free join’s God and Day’s team. Free challenges Hart’s every day normal but there is a strong current of attraction between them. With issues arising God and Day and their team seeming to take unnecessary risks, romance between these guys appears to be something that could cause a lot of issues amongst the drug taskforce and the SWAT.

As I said earlier, this is a wonderful series. It’s amazing and I can’t stop gushing about how much I love it. If you’ve not read the previous books you should go back to the start as there is a lot of overarching and interconnecting storylines. Those that love some action and danger and men in uniform with their romance will definitely dig this series.

Review: Each book in The Blue Solace collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

When Leti and Draif snuck on board of their ship many things have changed and for the good. Now Finn is lieutenant of the blue fleet. Charybdis station took him in many years ago but his life on Cardinal Hold had not been bad. He has now realized the woman that took him in and raised him, was in fact the only mother he had known and loved. She would never let him sell his body but taught him so much more. Now he was to find all of the slaves sold off and he needed the help of a man that stole and sold things.

Crow’s father had been killed because he did not believe those who had been in charge. He had believed all should be free, but Crow had not wanted to follow him. However when his father had been killed, his mother pretty much gave up on life and he wanted revenge. He helped Charybdis Station with details and in fighting. Now he was to help them find the missing slaves. He had not expected to find his mate. A mate that was leading the expedition.

This has been one of my favorite series to read and enjoy. The banter between all of the characters is full of humor and I had a blast with it. The worlds that was created to produce this story was full of energy, excitement, danger, adventure and lets not forget some hot sexy times. Out of all the characters I truly loved Leti, Sebastian, Fire and Beck the most. However Finn has soon become one of those characters. He was a blast to read and his reaction to meeting his mate was funny as hell. Those two trying to protect each other made for an interesting time. Crow was full of anger and hate for many and it did take him time to catch up with his mating, but you could see in him that he wanted it most of all.

I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on the next story by this author. I was sad to hear that this will be the last book of this series but knowing that there would be stories that will connect to this was a plus. I can guarantee that this is one of those series that will be read many times over. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Review: An engaging story about missing children, a best friend who is mysterious and of course Ronan and Ten. I liked the way the story evolved and flowed as the two men tried to figure out what was going on and what happened to the children.

The rest of Ronan and ten’s friends make brief appearances throughout. I enjoyed the story and all the elements that made it a satisfying book to read in the series. Mystery, suspense, drama and romance all played a part in bringing this story to a good end.

Great addition to the series.

Blurb: Quinton Mann and Mark Vincent are settling into a relationship that shouldn’t be possible. After all, Quinn is CIA, while Mark belongs to the WBIS, an agency labeled by others in the intelligence community as being staffed by sociopaths. Somehow, in spite of that, they seem to be making it work.

Surprisingly, it isn’t work that separates them but family matters and a friend’s plea for help when his partner is kidnapped. Quinn is off to London, while Mark heads for Los Angeles to solve the kidnapping. Then Mark gets called to Paris by Femme of the Division, where things are not as they seem. Quinn, thinking to meet Mark in Paris, ends up coming to Mark’s rescue. Back in the States, Mark fights taking time to recover from being shot while events are happening at the CIA that could endanger both Quinn and his best friend, DB.

Between family, friends, and Mark, how will Quinn make the opportunity to talk to Mark about moving in together and even starting a family?

Purchase Link: JMS Books | Amazon US | Amazon UK | Smashwords | Kobo

Review: Well, I can safely say this was an interesting experience. The story this time is from Quinton’s POV, which brought a change of pace. It should be read immediately after book one, because half of it covers previous events – just from Quinn point of view. Despite repetition, the story held my attention as there were bits and pieces I hadn’t known, and surprisingly, Quinn’s voice is quite different from Mark’s – the book had different vibe. Yes, Quinn is a spy, same as Mark, but his background is completely different and it shows.

This story is softer, gentler and focuses a little bit more on their relationship than the previous one. Maybe part of it was Quinn’s worldview: he knows he wants Mark and is not letting him go, while Mark, while in love, is wary of the future and insecure. There is one matter where Quinn is as ruthless as Mark is: no one is allowed to hurt Mark and he will move heaven and earth to make sure he is safe. He doesn’t flinch at Mark’s actions, which Mark finds baffling.

Once again, there is a whole slew of secondary characters from this series and others and they play important part in the story.

There is a hook up for the next book in series, so if it follows the pattern, there will Mark’s view of what happened in second half of the book, so I’m impatient to see what happens. (Or Tinnean will cook up something else – this was rather unusual experience for me!)

This is not a standalone, the books have to be read in order and hopefully with the next one already sitting on e-reader!

Review: This was an engaging story with spooky atmosphere and great background stories about different places in New Orleans. Do I know if all the ghost stories throughout the story are accurate? No. I still loved it regardless. Alex and Micah have both experienced some form of paranormal experiences in their past that left them haunted.

Amid these two men getting to know one another and helping each other heal there are murders that happen though we are not told how the people died which was irritating to me. Details are important in a mystery book to me as they help me understand the story plot better. This story was lacking in need to know information in my opinion.

Whatever entities were shadowing both Alex and Micah were not disclosed. I loved how Alex wanted to protect Micah and did at the cost of him missing time. That part was intriguing to me and what happened was mind blowing. I hope since this story ends on a cliffhanger that the next book has more details than this one did.

I will say one thing that has always irritated me in reading about ghosts and such in a book is when a character says that ghosts can not hurt you. I know from first hand experience they can and will hurt you if they have the energy and are angry enough to do so. Despite that it was a good beginning to a series.

Good read.

Review: Syn is the new Sergeant to the best Narcotics Task Force in Atlanta. Although at first he was not to sure about it, wait to you read to find out what the guys did. He is definitely one of a kind with an attitude. When he spots a sexy man he would like to get to know better, however the guy is giving him a good run.

Furious is trying to start a new life but everyone knows the past has a way of coming to bite you in the ass. He is working to open up his dream shop, while doing a side porn show to pay for it and hiding out from his soon to be ex. To top it off someone is killing off the guys at work. If he could just trust that sexy cop he might get everything he ever wanted.

These stories have so many potential but the author seems to focus more on the sexual aspects of the book which does the exact opposite of what it should be. There was a good murder plot added in, an abusive ex and damn it should have just hit the top, but you don’t get much on it. Drove me nuts is about all I have to say. The sex was off the charts but it made the story feel like more porn then story.

The story has quite a bit of funny parts to it but there was a serious note to it in others. Also it had quite a bit of grammatical problems in the whole story that didn’t bother me as it should have but were still noticed. Furious comes off as an alpha but when it come to his ex, lets say more omega. He also was quite an ass to Syn which was just nuts. However the story just had to much in it that wasn’t needed.

I was glad to see that there was a bit more progress then what had been in book one, however it wasn’t enough to make the story rock. The main thing was the story felt a bit chunky but it was still a very good read.

Blurb: Prince Owin

Being a fierce predator – not at all adorable, despite my graceful stature – the last thing I needed was a bodyguard. Especially a wolf shifter, whose presence alone was an insult to my princely principles.

As prince of the Ocelot Shifters, I prided myself on my infallible feline instincts, uncompromising dignity, and flawless fashion sense. If having a canine follow me around at all times wasn’t bad enough, I now faced the most important moment of my entire life.

The time had come to prove I was worthy of my crown. If only I could find a way to get rid of the pesky bodyguard…

Grimmwolf

When the king of All Shifters asked me to guard Prince Owin, I admit I had no idea what to ex-pect. Cat shifters tend to be a little intense, not to mention kinda cranky. Owin was no exception, though he seemed crankier than most.

Being his bodyguard was proving to be one of the greatest challenges of my life, but not nearly as great as convincing him there was something special between us.

When Owin was tasked with a perilous quest to prove his worth, I was determined to keep him safe, even if the same couldn’t be said of my heart.

Review: The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard is the first book on Charlie Cochet’s Paranormal Princes series. I was actually really surprised by this and how much I enjoyed it.

I’ve known of Cochet’s work for years but never really took a full dive into their body work – I’m not sure why, I thought I wouldn’t enjoy the books or whatever caused my aversion. Whatever, it was silly. And I really enjoyed The Prince and His Bedeviled Bodyguard. The flow of the story just worked well for me, of course it also a relatively short story, and so the pace is quite fast. However, for me everything in this story just clicked into the place fairly well.

The narration of this book was performed by Greg Boudreaux, this is only the second audio I’ve heard by this narrator, but so far I’ve been impressed. I have simple needs, all I need is a narrator that is engaging and shows a good connection for the main characters they are portraying. I’ll definitely be looking for more from Boudreaux in the future. Who knows, he might go into my ultimate list of narrators (yes, I do have that list in my head).

The story is pretty simple, which considering the length makes perfect sense. What you read in the blurb is essentially what you get, so I’m not about to and rehash the blurb and then potentially spoil the book. This is a paranormal romance that includes an ocelot shape shifter and a wolf shifter. The two MCs are interesting guys, the titular Prince is Prince Owin and his bodyguard is Grimmwolf. Owin seems a little on the high strung side, and I suppose that’s the cat in his characters, while Grimmwolf is all growling and brooding strength. They are essentially two sides of the same coin, so different and yet there is enough similarity to start the simmering sexual tension between them.

Fans of shape shifter romances will no doubt be entertained, this was a fun and action filled story. This certainly has piqued my interest for the rest of the series.

Review: God and Day have been partners on the force for over four years and in that time they have found out that they are in love. Through thick and thin you can definitely see that these two guys are perfect for each other. However God has a few secrets that might just come out and well your just going to have to read the book.

There is quite a bit of passion with these two sexy men. However they also have tempers that heat up fast. Protection is something these guys have in spades. These two are real alpha’s but God is more intense I would say. The sex is smoking hot and damn if you don’t want to jump in a pool to cool off.

However there were some parts of the story that showed the author didn’t do much in the research department. For one you might start to feel better when you have pneumonia or close to it, but you definitely won’t be back to work, especially at a police department. Plus sexual feelings while doing a raid would get you killed or suspended. Also the author seemed to loose me at the foursome part, why add something that was not needed. That extra sex brought the book down a whole heart in my eyes. I don’t like sharing or cheating, and to me it is all the same. Then there was the four years of wanting to all of a sudden you get down and dirty, sorry but that is just off.

To top it off the other characters and their actions changed so fast, I was stuck with what the hell. Also most of the crap they did at the station would have gotten them suspended right off the bat. There was no real police work in the story just here and there, which was not a good sight. I was hoping for a bit more in that aspect of the book. To much sex not enough police investigation was a bit over used. There was no twists to this book and that was disappointing. All in all, the book just was not what I expected to read.

Now on one point I really did like the book, well until the foursome and then it went down, but I did like the book. The way the God’s family came back was rushed and not something that would be believed. I am sorry but you go through most of your life with no one knowing, then all of a sudden they find those tapes of what is happening, I would say no. This book had great potential but damn if it didn’t really flop in a way.

However as I said before I did like the book, but I sure do hope that the next book has a bit more of what I want and nothing added that wasn’t needed.

Review: Killian has dealt with a lot in his lifetime and as a result has resided alone in his tree for a long time. When he meets his mate Dravyn he is stunned but decides not to say anything. For two years Dravyn writes the man with no response. Then Dravyn’s friends go and find Killian and convince his to come to D’Vaire. From there things get interesting.

I loved this story. Dravyn certainly made Killian work for his forgiveness which I was glad for. Killian for his part starts to realize what he almost lost and does what he can to get Dravyn to forgive him. But this story is more than that. It’s about alliances and foes and surprises that I never saw coming.

I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and the enjoyment just keeps on coming book after book. I have to admit to not liking Aloisa when she was first introduced. Her attitude towards others was atrocious at times. Now after this story I understood a little better.

It’s a fascinating addition to the series that was wonderful to read.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: Shunned by his pack for being born without feet and suspected of being an omega wolf, Devyn had a lucky escape when he was found and raised by a bear shifter. Now twenty six years old, Devyn fills his days carving elegant items of furniture out of wood, catering to the rich who can afford his custom pieces. It’s a quiet life, but a good life and Devyn never imagined it changing in any way, until his fated mate walked in the door.

Rex would be the first to admit he cruised through life since leaving his father’s pack at eighteen. Yes, he was born an alpha, but he wasn’t interested in running a pack. He was happy living with his beta brother, running his bar, and falling in with hook ups when the mood struck him – which was often. But when he was called to a furniture shop by his latest hook up, supposedly to help move a bed, he never imagined he’d finally find someone he wanted to hold onto. Someone who made his alpha wolf stand up and take notice.

Life should’ve been easy once the misunderstandings concerning a proposal, Devyn’s role in their relationship, and other trivial matters had been resolved. But the evil that shadowed both their pasts, is now back on the scene wanting Devyn dead and Rex fulfilling responsibilities he’d never asked for. Throw a magic user in the mix, and it’s going to take more than Devyn’s deft hand on his wheelchair to work things out.

Review: Rex and his brother left their pack when they became adults. They had a good life, but life seems to always come up with a surprise. When Sloan tried to propose to him in a warehouse for tax time, he knew he had to change a part of his life. What he had not expected was the sexy little wolf shifter being his mate, nor of his mate not being able to walk.

Devyn’s pack had left him for dead when he was a few days old, all because his legs were deformed and he had no feet. A bear shifter found him and became the father he knew now. Then walks in a big ass alpha wolf whose head needed to be knocked around saying they were mates.

Now for most shifters they would meet, mate and have some sexy times. But wolves are a bit strange it seems, then add in one grumpy papa bear and well it is going to get messy. You get a bit of feelings from Rex, but he just doesn’t seem to have a true connection with Devyn that one would expect. Then there is the fact that he is alpha but comes off more like a beta, until he stands up to another beta. I also didn’t care for the magic users at all and wished they had been ditched. I did like Devyn quite a bit and his papa bear definitely wins favors.

It was an interesting story that had a few errors in it but they were not taking away from this story. However I will say that there was something missing in the story that would have normally made it stand out more.

I did enjoy reading it and look forward to reading more from this series. I can also say that it is one of those stories that will be read many times over.

Review: Jason, one of the Psy’s experiments, wakes up not knowing where he is. He only knows there is a lovely smell and a heavenly voice calling to him. At first he is terrified until the man tells him everything will be alright. Adam is happy he met his mate Jason but is concerned for his welfare at the same time. The two try and help the other understand things that are happening.

There is a lot that happens throughout this story. From confrontations others to rescue missions without planning there is an adrenaline rush as different characters play a role in bringing each scene to stunning life. Action packed and suspenseful this book packs a punch.

I loved everything about the book. I am looking forward to reading about the many characters that were rescued as well as Maui and Ian as in this story we find out they are mates.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Blurb: As part of the investigation into the murder of a young woman, Seattle P.I. Tony DeMarco poses as a patient of Dr. Jack Halloran, the therapist who treated the victim at a Seattle sex clinic. This isn’t the first time Tony has gone undercover, but it’s the first time he’s wanted to go under cover with one of his suspects. He can’t help it—Jack Halloran is just the kind of steely-eyed hero Tony goes for. Dr. Halloran has his own issues, including a damaged right arm sustained in the line of duty as a combat surgeon in Iraq and the PTSD that followed. Review: Private Investigator Tony has been asked to look into the death of a young woman, a young woman who apparently committed suicide; it leads Tony to go undercover as a patient at a Seattle sex clinic and getting him help for his own little problem. Tony doesn’t believe that the doctor who treated the young woman, Jack Halloran, was involved but he wants to make sure he doesn’t miss anything and that it isn’t his attraction to the doctor clouding his judgment. Jack has his own issues, injured in the line of duty as a combat surgeon; he has lost all confidence in his own appeal and becomes confused by his attraction to his new patient, Tony.

This is a great story that has some brilliant humorous moments including an Italian mother who has no boundaries. Tony is a great character who puts his all into solving his clients cases, his newest case is a puzzle though, and no matter the alibi, he still suspects the husband. Going undercover Tony wants to discover just what treatment the dead woman received, but he gets a surprise of his own when his own little problem rears its ugly head. Jack is a man who has had his confidence knocked, forced to change his speciality he is now a sex counsellor and is intrigued by his new patients problem, but he also find himself attracted to the man.

This is a great novella that has some incredible sexual tension and a pretty good investigation. Tony is a character that you fall in love with, he is so cute with his blushes and embarrassment and his intense attraction to Jack. Jack is a man who has had some hard knocks, but he is so nice that you want him to break the rules for Tony. Tony’s investigation is great but the budding relationship with Jack is better, both of them entwine and I loved Jack’s reaction to the truth about Tony.

I recommend this to those that love humorous private investigators, hot doctors, great sex, an interesting storyline and a very amusing ending.

Review: Each of the Eclipse collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc I would suggest reading them in sequential order.

The Gods have rules and one of the rules is to not get involved in the live of those they helped create. However if they did not they would all die. So they got rid of the old council and brought in a whole new one. Most of those were unique and almost extinct. Jigger is one of those new council members. He doesn’t understand since he was weaker than many around. His legs did not work and he needed glasses. However he was smart, caring and asked the right questions. He was a fisher cat who was not a cat and did not like fish. He had a crush on one of the men in the group, Alaska. He just figured Alaska would not want someone like him.

Alaska wanted Jigger but was afraid he could never have him. After the gods news, well lets just say he wasn’t sure he had the right. Well he is in for a big surprise. Especially when the gods are involved.

I love how there is a special twist to this story for them all, but for Jigger mostly. I loved book one but damn this book was even better than the first. Jigger was a special young man who has had a hard life, but he is about to find out how special he is. This story gave me everything I could ask for. It was action packed, danger filled, excitement overload and lets not forget some hot sexy times. I absolutely loved it.

I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on the next story. I can guarantee that this is one of those stories that will be read many times over.

Blurb: When the only thing you’re good at is running or fighting, is a second chance at love even possible?

Captain Maddox Stone is ready to put the men who messed with his family on a fast train to hell. Eliminating the enemy is the only thing he’s good at anyway. He sure as hell isn’t good at connecting. Of course, on the heels of that thought, his past comes walking through the door. Will he finally have the guts to explain what really happened that night so long ago?

Nothing on earth could bring Lieutenant River Seeger back to the ranch until his grandfather calls for help. With no other recourse, he returns to the Triple R, but makes it clear it’s for a limited time. He’s left the past behind and with it, his youthful dreams. But, since he’s here, shouldn’t he at least get some answers?

Two soldiers faced with the past. One man struggles with a tragic secret while the other one demands answers. What’s even worse? When Maddox deploys on a mission and River takes on the kidnappers, time is running out for one of them. The only thing for certain is they’re definitely cutting it close for any chance at a happy ending.

In typical Reese Knightley style, Cutting It Close is a fast paced, slow burn, action & adventure romance with a big cast of characters and a definite HEA. This book is the first in a series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Review: Captain Maddox Stone is back at the ranch to get to the bottom of financial problems the ranch is having. While there his cousin Triston is kidnapped and he is attacked. His business partner Bull calls his grandson Special Forces Lieutenant River Seeger who immediately comes home to help.

Maddox and River have a history that did not end well. But as the two team up to figure out what is going on the heat and attraction between them reignite. I loved this story. It had everything I love in a book. A romance that does not overshadow the actual story, action with a a mystery that is jaw dropping in it’s intensity. Tension that is off the charts and dangerous situation that leave you on the edge of your seat awaiting the outcome.

I am so looking forward to getting to know Rivers team members in more detail. Highly recommended.

Review: These are some short little stories that show our favorite couple and a cute familiar in a few different life story. They are the stories that many readers ask for, a little more about the characters, although they do have other charming characters in them.

Red Wine and Blood

Ashwin finds three mages and he knew they were a danger. However even a strong vampire would have trouble fighting them but nope he doesn’t realize till it happens. Thankfully his strong bond with his love, Ignacio comes to his rescue.

A History of Trouble

A group of kids are dead all because they thought it would be fun to raise an animal that has been extinct for many, many years. A mammoth running through the streets as a zombie. Now that would be funny to see, but Angel is sent to send it back.

A Dragon in the City

Eroch had been taken from his family and the cutie finds a new bond with a special man. He does love his bond with Angel but he also loves fried pigeons.

Fae’s Gold

Rory had been in a 200 year old magical coma and now he is trying to make it in the modern world. So Daniel decides to help. Take a large load of gold to the bank to change it in to cash, doesn’t have the reaction that even they thought.

Normally I would give them each a rating but they are all equal. They were a little to short for me but still was fun to read.

I enjoyed hearing about the guys and little Eroch, who is my favorite. O’Malley is an idiot sometimes though. I did love these little tidbits into some of the world we have come to love.

Blurb: Ryan Penniford needs a break from the daily grind of London life. A trip down to Porthcurno, Cornwall, to perform at the stunning Minack Theatre with his amateur dramatics society, the Sarky Players, is the perfect answer. Playing Puck in A Midsummer’s Night Dream will certainly lighten his spirits.

After meeting Stuart Box, a local who has returned to Cornwall after earning his PhD in London, Ryan thinks he might have finally found someone who can see behind his mask of flirty Ryan to see the real man. They quickly realise they have great off-stage chemistry, and want as many repeat performances as possible.

Pity Ryan is only visiting Cornwall for two weeks, but Stuart is keen to return to London and he may have found another incentive to get a new job, and fast. Both men want to see where this more-than-just a holiday romance might take them.

Review: This is the second instalment to Rebecca Cohen’s Treading the Boards series (and I am well aware that there is at least one other series in MM called Treading the Boards). You don’t need to have read book 1 to get into this one. The couple of the previous book, Overly Dramatic, Andy and Phil, are mentioned a couple of times but nothing that requires a back story.

We are back in the world of the Sarky Players amateur theatre group and they are now on the road from London for a summer performance in Cornwall. This time round we get to meet member of the Sarky Players, Ryan as he readies himself to play the part of Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It’s at the local outdoor amphitheatre that he meets local guy Stuart. The road to romance is rocky for them, and probably a bit predictable, but it is entirely pleasing. However, once again I enjoyed the chemistry between the MCs and the romance was hot.

On a more personal note, I have to say that it took me a few days to realise that I did indeed enjoy this story more than I originally thought. Stuart’s story of finishing his PhD and having problems finding a post-doctoral research position just hit too close to home for me, the problem being that I am approaching the end of my PhD and finding myself in the same position (and in a similar field of biology) to Stuart. Maybe I can find my very own Ryan!

In saying all that, people towards the end of their PhDs will find some of the descriptions so close to home that it’s almost depressing. For everyone else, rest assured this is a pretty damn realistic look at the life of research scientists.

Nevertheless, cannot wait for book 3!!! Even if that will also be alarmingly close to my own life.
