Luther Almond’s life working the Bakken oil field is perfect—short-lived jobs, temporary housing, and easy hookups. That’s one reason he won’t move home when he inherits the lake house. When Erik Heat bends over to fix Luther’s pipes, his tattoos hint he might be up for more than working on the drain. The last thing Luther expects is to want more from this guy than one night.

Every time they’re together, Luther is more grounded and Erik more confident. When the lake house demands attention, Luther asks for Erik’s help. There he imagines a more permanent life, one where he stops running. But he wants Erik by his side. Can he find the courage—and the words—to ask?

Review: Erik Heat is a former Hockey Player that was forced to leave that dream behind when he got injured. He worked the oil fields for a while; until some co-workers found out he was gay and decided to play a prank that went too far. Now he works as a plumber for temporary housing.

Luther Almond has spent his life running, constantly on the move. His job in the oil field offers him the opportunities to move from place to place, hook up with random guys no strings attached, and make a pretty penny while he’s doing it. When Luther and Erik hook up for one of those no strings attached romps, neither man thinks it could become anything more.

But then one night becomes, two, then three, which turns into sexting and friends who can talk to each other, help each other out. Soon, it threatens to become something permanent… if both men can learn how to bend.

This was just a fast fun read. I love those one night stand stories that turn into something more real and passionate, which is what happens for Luther and Erik. They understand each other in a way no-one else seems to, they fit together. There was a bit of angst and not communicating which annoyed me a bit, but overall I really enjoyed this short, sexy, romantic story.

I’d recommend it if you are looking for quickie, I blew through it in no time at all, and it left a smile on my face.

Bane

(A Strain Novel)
by

Amelia C. Gormley

The weapon that nearly destroyed humanity may be their only salvation.

Rhys Cooper’s unique immunity to all three strains of the virus that nearly annihilated humanity has brought him the unwanted attention of Clean Zone scientists. They’ve summoned him for testing—ostensibly in the hopes of finding a vaccine—but Rhys’s partner, Darius Murrell, has good reason not to trust any government. He and his comrades in Delta Company were unwitting test subjects for Project Juggernaut, the military experiment that gave them superhuman abilities and unleashed the pandemic. Doubting the government’s intentions, Delta Company refuses to let Rhys go alone.

Fear of infection has kept Zach Houtman and his lover Nico Fernández apart for a decade. They meet rarely, just long enough to coordinate their spying on the head of the government’s virus research division. Secretary Littlewood is a vicious predator, and they suspect he’s trying to acquire the strain of the virus that would make him superhuman. To stop him, they need the perfect bait: Rhys.

For Rhys, helping them might cost him his relationship with Darius—or his life. For Zach and Nico, even if their plan succeeds, they still face the ultimate question: can infected and uninfected people ever live together safely?

Review: Short, Sexy and Steamy… my three favorite colors!!! It’s been a while since I’ve said that about a novella. And it’s been a while since we last got to visit with David and catch up on his dating shenanigans. David is still holding to the plan, 52 first dates, and one for every week for a year.

There have been some steamy hookups, some bad blind dates, and a set of twins that were promising for a while there. Now we have Mr. Toronto, who is travelling all the way to London for a date with David.

David finds himself another couple to play with in this latest episode, not twins this time… a couple that like to keep their options open. He still has to play babysitter to his best friend, and let me tell you, that poor girl cannot hold her alcohol!

Then there is the impending visit with the sexy man from Toronto that David has been sexting with. Is the sultry Canadian Mr. Right? Or just Mr. Right now? And what happens to the pact David made with himself if they hit it off? Only time will tell!

Review: Tommy Newsome is a good ole boy from a small Georgia town, off to college, living on his own for the first time. To say the bright lights of the big city are overwhelming for him would be an understatement. When his openly bi-sexual roommate drags Tommy to a gay bar, it’s more than Tommy can handle, too many people, too much noise etcetera, so Tommy finds a quieter place to mingle.

Tommy hasn’t given much thought to his sexuality, mostly because he’s gay and his parents are fanatically homophobic. But when he lays eyes on the much older, handsome bartender at Wolfs bar, Tommy can’t deny who he is anymore.

Mike Scott moonlights at Wolf’s bar as a bartender. His “day job” is a bit more “glamorous”. For the past twenty years, Mike has made quite a nice living as a gay porn star. But the industry is changing, and not in ways Mike is happy with or willing to lower his standards for. Then he meets a young man with piercing eyes, a shy smile and the most adorable blush Mike has ever seen.

Old habits die hard though and after having more than one relationship end when the man finds out about Mike’s choice of career, he keeps his secret, and it just might cost him the love of that beautifully, shy young man.

May/December romances are such fun stories. I really love reading a book where there are a substantial number of years between the lovers when the Author can convey their love in a way that is true and romantic. That is exactly what Wells did with First.

I have to preface this review by saying how shockingly accurate an Author from across the pond got life in small town, heart of the Bible belt, Georgia right. I was born and raised in Georgia so I know firsthand what a person like Tommy would have to live through, and it was much like what he dealt with in this book. Wells even got the Georgia twang right! I could literally hear Tommy talking in my head.

Tommy was confused, naive and for lack of a better word, virginal. It was very endearing for the character.

The best part of this story for me was watching as Mike gently taught him about sexuality and being in a relationship. Mike never used or abused the trust Tommy placed in him, aside from not telling him the truth about the porn, he completely respected Tommy and the gift Tommy gave him.

Both men faced very real struggles, different, but still real. Tommy is dealing with figuring out who he is and what he wants to do with his life while Mike is dealing with the pitfalls of the industry he chose to work in. While First is meant to be a coming of age story for Tommy, I think that Mike did a lot of growing up throughout as well.

A very romantic and endearing story, I couldn’t put it down, was up until midnight so I could finish.

Definitely a must read!

Reviewer: Tams

Review: Liam and Troy are foster brothers, best friends and roommates. The only constant in their lives since they were barely teenagers has been each other. Neither of them have ever had a successful relationship, partly because they keep choosing the wrong guys, but mostly because they make each other’s dating lives impossible by disapproving of any guy the other dates.

You see, almost as long as Liam and Troy have known each other, they’ve loved each other far deeper than just brothers or friends. The problem is, neither is willing to admit that to themselves, much less to the other.

Dalton is an aging, overweight cop in a bad marriage. Intimacy and passion are words that are absent from his dictionary, hence the reason he is going through a divorce. Trying to get his life back on track mentally, physically and emotionally for his personal and work well-being, Dalton crosses paths with both Liam and Troy separately and enters into a tentative relationship with both. A tug of war or sorts ensues when the three men realize what is happening.

But what if the only way for these three decidedly different men to be happy is with each other, all three together?

After first meeting Dalton in Saving Samuel as a secondary character, Milo’s best friend, I was anxious for his story. I really enjoyed seeing how he went from depressed, lonely, overweight and generally just miserable in his life to someone who was happy, passionate, hopeful and caring. He grew by leaps and bounds as the story progressed and it was the most prevalent aspect of this story for me.

I’m also a HUGE fan of throuples, especially when the reason they are together is valid. Liam and Troy are miserably, secretly in love with each other but refuse to admit it. When Dalton is unknowingly thrown into the mix, the lion’s den for lack of a better term, Liam and Troy have to face the reality of possibly no longer existing in the bubble they’ve created if they don’t face their mutual attraction to each other, as well as Dalton.

I also enjoyed the circles that overlapped, all three men completely clueless. You have Dalton and Liam, Dalton and Tony, and Liam and Tony. Each relationship is its own circle and the three overlap but never meet in the middle. When they finally do, the outcome is unclear for a while. The pace of the story was fantastic, everything slowly revealed at the appropriate time.

And though you knew there was a confrontation coming, you didn’t know when or how and I thought that was written nicely as well. Mostly, I enjoyed the character development of Dalton as an individual and the three of them as a throuple. The Liam, Troy not sharing their feelings with each other aspect of the story was a stretch for me, but aside from that, I really loved this book.

A kaleidoscope of emotions… Love, passion, angst, fear, anger and anxiety just to name a few, but it’s all nicely woven together by the author. I cannot wait for Blue’s story! More threesomes!!!

Blurb: Garrett Bowman is shocked that fate has brought him to a family who can sign. He’s spent much of his life on the outside looking in, even within his biological family, and to be accepted and employed is more than he could have hoped for.

With Connor, who’s included him in his family, Garrett has found a true friend, but with the distant Brit Wilson Haskins, Garrett may have found something more. In no time, Garrett gets under Wilson’s skin and finds his way into Wilson’s heart, and over shared turbulent family histories, Wilson and Garrett form a strong bond.

Wilson’s especially impressed with the way Garrett’s so helpful to Janey, Connor and Dan’s daughter, who is also deaf. When Wilson’s past shows up in the form of his brother Reggie, bringing unscrupulous people to whom Reggie owes money, life begins to unravel. These thugs don’t care how they get their money, what they have to do, or who they might hurt.

Without the strength of love and the bonds of family and friends, Garrett and Wilson could pay the ultimate price.

Review: Garrett Bowman is lost, alone and adrift. Looking for work, he winds up at the farm where Connor runs his woodwork business. Garrett was born deaf and rarely meets people who sign, so he’s equal parts elated and shocked to learn that Connor and his nuclear family all sign. Not only that, they accept Garrett into the fold straight away, give him a job, a home and a purpose.

Wilson Haskins is the temperamental butler that works for Connor and his family. He and Garrett share an instant connection. They are drawn to each other like moths to a flame. But Wilson is used to being guarded, reclusive and alone. The more time he spends with Garrett, the better he gets to know the troubled young man, the more he wants… more. But life has a way of getting in the way when happiness knocks on your door. Trouble usually isn’t far behind.

Garrett is a fantastic addition to this family. He was born deaf and has always felt like an outsider, so it was nice to see how Dan, Conner, Wilson and the kids accepted him into their lives without a second glance. What he lost with the one sense he makes up for in spades with the remaining ones. And then there is the long-suffering butler that seems content to be alone for the rest of his life. Some sort of penance he thinks he deserves. Once Garrett gets under his skin, he’ll stop at nothing to hold onto his second chance at happiness.

The Senses series is not only one of my favorite Grey series; it’s one of my favorite MM series. I love how all the characters connect in some way and how Grey takes individuals that have been classified as damaged or broken by society, and gives them hope, love and a family. While this story focuses mostly on Garrett and Wilson, their backgrounds and troubles slowly unfolding across every page, you also get to spend time with Dan, Connor and their brood of “throw away children” that they’ve adopted.

This is a wonderfully, passionate love story with a bite. Sometimes you have to reevaluate your priorities and fight for what you want, what you deserve. This is also the fifth book in a series and while it can be read as a stand-alone story, I would suggest at least reading book 4 so you have the full story for Dan, Connor and the kids and can follow along at the right pace.

WARNING: This book contains homosexual relations and crude language. A sneak peek at book 2 follows the ending!

Former Navy SEAL Axel Blaze lives a solitary life. He doesn’t do emotions, and he doesn’t do babysitting. Used to being on his own, his job consists of Wetwork (a charming term coined by the KGB) for his former Master Chief, Mac. When an out-of-the-ordinary job lands on his doorstep, Axel heads down a path that includes a famous heavy metal rock band and one quiet, vulnerable, guitar-shredding virtuoso named Gareth Wolf.

Gareth Wolf’s life changed in an instant when a car he was a passenger in crashed, hurting his brother’s best friend and the band’s lead guitarist. They created the band, Skull Blasters, as kids. Gareth had always been happy in the background, playing roadie. With the lead guitarist’s injury, Gareth is suddenly thrust into the limelight and into a frenzied life he never imagined for himself. Finally fed up with living a lie, Gareth comes out as gay in a newspaper interview and finds himself in the bulls-eye of a crazed stalker. Somebody wants Gareth hurt – or worse – and Mac has been hired to be sure that doesn’t happen. Babysitting duty is NOT Axel’s strong suit, but Mac won’t be budged.

Enter Axel Blaze.

Against his better judgment, the big man takes the job to protect the shy musician. The more time he spends with Gareth Wolf, the more he admires the man. Where’s a simple assassination when you need one? The situation becomes more volatile for each man as the attempts on Gareth escalate just as Axel finds himself falling for the quiet lead guitarist.

Strong, funny, smart-ass — and kinda sweet Axel is everything Gareth has ever wanted in a man. Too bad he’s off limits. As the stalker grows bolder, Gareth and Axel move closer emotionally – but is it too late? All Axel knows is that they don’t stand a chance if he can’t find the maniac trying to kill the man he’s come to care about. A lot.

Everyone knows that relationships that begin in pressured or volatile situations eventually fizzle out.

Or do they?

When Finley finally has enough, he threatens to find someone who will claim him if Tanner doesn’t, and Tanner realizes he needs to come to terms with his fears or risk losing his mate forever.

Review: Tanner Pearce is the son of the Alpha wolf, heir apparent and future Alpha. Finding his destined mate should be a cause for celebration. But Tanner is in his twenties and his mate is only sixteen. Tanner never considers not mating with Finley, he just wants his mate to at least be of age and have lived enough life not to have any regrets once they do mate. But young Finley is growing tired of waiting and being pushed away at every turn.

Finley finally reaches a breaking point and flees to his grandparent’s home which is thousands of miles away. Tanner wants to give Finley his space, it’s the reason he has refused to actually mate with his mate these last few years, so Finley could enjoy his youth and be truly ready when they did mate. But now Tanner fears he has driven away his heart, and he’s not quite sure how to get him back.

Fantastic start to a new series! I thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Shifter aspects Duncan included in her story, while bringing a few unique ones of her own to the mix, keeping it fresh. There was the right amount of drama and angst in the story without being immature or awkward.

Tanner has his reasons for wanting to wait to complete the mate bond, but he’s not entirely honest with Finley and it could cost him everything. The story flowed well from beginning to end with crests and valleys along the way to keep the reader interested and entertained.

Shifter fans are going to flock to this one of course, but there is so much more to the story. Coming of age, figuring out who you are and your place in life, learning to bend and give, especially when the decisions you make not only affect you, but your partner too.

There’s some sexy time as well, these two wolves are pretty passionate about each other.

And even, dare I say, a bit of romance… Le Sigh.

Blurb: Audie Barrack is in it up to his elbows with a sick calf when his son’s school calls. Seems Grainger has gotten into yet another fight. When he walks into the principal’s office, he’s shocked to find his son has been fighting with a little girl named Randi.

A little girl with one blind dad and one dad who recently passed away.

Dixon has lost his sight, his career, and his husband. Thank God for his brothers, Momma and Daddy, and his little girl, or he would simply give up. The last thing he needs is for Randi to start trouble at school, especially trouble that puts him in contact with another dad who might expect him to be a functional human being.

Dixon is struggling to live as a blind man, Audie is terrified someone might see he has a closet to come out of, and everyone from the school to both men’s families is worried for the men and their children. Unless they get themselves together and commit to change, neither of them stands a chance.

Review: Audie lives his life under the radar. A single father to a young son whose mom abandoned him, practically at birth, he keeps his sexuality a secret from everyone but his family. Everything changes when Audie gets a call from school that his son, Grainger, has been fighting with another student.

Dixon and his daughter Miranda, Randi for short, are still in mourning over the loss of a loved one. Not only did Dixon loose his lover in the wreck, Randi lost her other daddy and Dixon lost his sight. Now he spends every day in darkness, just trying to put one foot in front of the other and learn how to live again. Imagine having everything you ever dreamed of; love, life, happiness and a family; and in an instant, it’s all taken away.

Audie winds up befriending Dix, inviting him and his daughter to Grainger’s birthday party in an attempt to help his son make new friends. It’s a rough start at first, Grainger determined not to like the little girl who socked him a good one. Eventually though, the four of them become inseparable. Audie begins teaching Randi how to ride horses while Dix teaches Grainger how to play guitar. And the two men, well they teach each other how to love and live again.

I was completely engrossed in this story five minutes in. The storyline was totally fun and care free. Of course there are some bumps in the road. Dix is bitter and lonely but once he opens his heart and lets Audie in, everything changes. Audie hasn’t lived in the closet per say, everyone just assumes that since he has a son he is straight; he does or says nothing to change their minds. But meeting Dix awakens something inside him he didn’t think he would ever experience again.

The difficulty these two face is merging their different life styles and blended families. The most strife and discord comes from their own mothers. Now that they’ve found happiness and a man who not only accepts them, faults, blindness, small children and all, they aren’t about to let anyone keep them apart.

Narrated by Paul Morey and if you follow my reviews, you know I adore his voice. He has this country gentleman tone that he uses for Audie and it is absolutely perfect. I especially liked that I could feel Dixon’s frustrations in the way Morey voiced him, it gave the story and the character so much more depth.

Tortuga definitely did her research into the specifics of living life without site. Little details like the other senses becoming stronger, the anger and frustration over not being able to visualize something… I really enjoyed that she went that extra mile for the story.

I would recommend this audio book to anyone that likes cowboy romances, hopeless romantics and fans of Morey’s work.

Blurb: It isn’t easy being a Morgan. Especially when dead bodies start piling up and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it.
Quinn Morgan never quite fit into the family mold. He dreamed of a life with books instead of badges and knowledge instead of law—and a life with Rafe Andrade, his older brothers’ bad boy friend and the man who broke his very young heart.

Rafe Andrade returned home to lick his wounds following his ejection from the band he helped form. A recovering drug addict, Rafe spends his time wallowing in guilt, until he finds himself faced with his original addiction, Quinn Morgan—the reason he fled the city in the first place.

When Rafe hears the Sinners are looking for a bassist, it’s a chance to redeem himself, but as a crazed murderer draws closer to Quinn, Rafe’s willing to sacrifice everything—including himself—to keep his quixotic Morgan safe and sound.

Review: Where there is a Morgan, trouble is likely not far behind.
Quinn Morgan is the odd man out when it comes to his very loud, very large Irish Catholic family. His father is a high-ranking official with the police department, most of his siblings, of which there are many, are cops as well. There is the black sheep that became a fireman, teenage rebellion and the need to be different from his brothers and sisters. But Quinn, he has always had trouble trying to find his own place in this world.

The one thing that kept him grounded, centered as a youth was Rafe Andrade. The two always shared a bond, so when Rafe took his leave to recognize his dream of being a Rock Star, it affected Quinn and not in a good way.

Rafe Andrade is a transplant Morgan, again, one of many. Brigid and Donal Morgan, the matriarchs of this large Irish family, are fierce, loyal and loving; not only with their own brood, but with their children’s friends and partners as well. And while Donal is a force to be reckoned with, you do not want to piss off the five foot tall red-headed Irish woman who is Brigid Morgan. When Rafe took off for greener pastures, losing his way and making some devastating mistakes, the Morgan’s welcomed him back with open arms.

But Rafe has continued to struggle with his past mistakes, and the one that has torn him apart most was walking away from Quinn.

As with all the books in this series, I am in love with the Irish baroque, the camaraderie between brothers and friends, and the unwavering commitment they all have to each other. Even if some of them do their damnedest to state otherwise, Yes Mickie, I’m talking to you! A few twists with this story, the usual form of threat for the family is changed up and I honestly didn’t even see the threat to Quinn as what it turned out to be.

Also, Brigid gets caught in the crossfire of another Morgan catastrophe, and I tell you what, watching all these big, brooding, alpha males cower in the wake of Brigid being hurt, it was very moving. She is the glue that holds them all together, and you have not seen anything yet to prepare you for the level of pissed off when someone accidentally hits mama.

Of course it’s a wild ride, there is a lot of passion and emotions run high, that’s par for the course with this group. What is different, are the characters and their struggles. I really enjoy it when an author continues to evolve and show variety for a series that is going in a specific direction. Change it up. Give the reader something new and fresh to keep you chomping at the bit for more.

Once Quinn and Rafe stop fighting the pull to each other, get past the past, and ignore all the Morgan men that are warning them off each other, Katie bar the door!

Must read series, I highly recommend it; it’s a series where I’ve read the different books multiple times myself. You have to read them in order though or you’ll miss a lot of character interaction and won’t understand some of the things that are said or insinuated throughout.

I hope we get at least one more book in this series, there are still a few loose threads to be neatly cut and folded. Now I will just sit back and wait for the audio, I cannot wait for Tristan James to sink his teeth into Rafe and Quinn!

Review: Twin brothers Scott and Sawyer were close when they were younger. But as Scott grew up and realized his feelings for his brother were far deeper than the acceptable norm of a bond between twins, he started to distance himself.

When Sawyer comes to visit and camps out on Scott’s couch, the two are forced to deal with secrets they’ve kept buried for years.

This is a short, steamy read that is sure to cause a spike in your blood pressure. The content is “taboo” so if you have an issue with twincest, you might want to skip this naughty little read.

I quite liked it. There was a bit of drama, secrets being revealed, uncertainty with how those secrets will be perceived and even a quick pulse pounding moment of danger.

If you are a fan of Mercy Celeste or Max Voss then you’ll definitely want to read this one. A delicious little snack I’ll keep on my kindle to re-visit every now and again.

Review: Nicky Hauser has spent the last five years with a man who not only didn’t appreciate him, but cheated on him more than once. When Nicky walks in on his partner, the man he shares his life and home with, banging one of their waiters in his office, Nicky can no longer pretend not to know what Tom is doing. He couch surfs for a while until the opportunity to house sit falls into his lap. The couple is so impressed with how immaculate their home is upon their return, that they start suggesting Nicky to their friends, and Nicky turns it into a solid income from there.

That is all Spencer Cartwright is supposed to be, his employer. But all bets are off when Nicky takes a fulltime, live in job for Spencer, keeping his home in order. Quiet nights spent watching TV together, Spencer helping Nicky study for his college math class and evenings out with Nicky’s friends, slowly turn their friendship into something more. But can Nicky open up his heart to another man after the lost one broke it?

This was just a fast fun read. The storyline was okay, the characters were a little distant though. I never really felt drawn to either of them until toward the end, and then the story was over. I did like how Nicky took his circumstance and turned it to work in his favor, but I really wanted him and Spencer to get together a little sooner and perhaps have a little more romantic time.

Kelly’s narration of the story was great. I liked that each character had a different voice, whether it was tone, pitch or nuance that changed, you always knew who was talking at the time.

If you are looking for something quick to pass an afternoon with a decent storyline and a tease at romance, grab a copy of Housekeeping.

Their search leads them to the Otherworld, where something even more insidious is at work—something Thad will need more than logic to stand against.

Reviewer: Tams

Review: Thad Blackmoor is the eldest of the Blackmoor brothers, but he hasn’t felt important for a while. He always held his mother’s attention, but fought to gain his father’s, even more so as their family grew. When their mother died it affected Thad more than anyone in the family, aside from his father.

Thad buried his emotions long ago and concentrates on honing his skills so he can be not only the best Warlock, but the best Blackmoor as well. He steps outside of his comfort zone just a teensy bit when he meets a sexy Warlock at a local coffee shop. But it’s another chance encounter with a Fire Fae Prince that finally begins to melt the young Warlocks frozen heart.

It’s not exactly the best time to deal with matters of the heart though. Thad’s new found Fae friend is on the run from a couple of pissed of Banshees. And the shadow weaver that tried to annihilate the Blackmoor clan not so long ago seems to not only still be watching them, he has his sights set on one Blackmoor in particular, Thad.

The infamous council sends the Blackmoor brothers along with their new-found friends – sexy Warlock and Fire Fae Prince – and Drake, the youngest Blackmoor brother’s boyfriend, into Otherworld to defeat the shadow weaver. Secrets, lies and betrayal run deep as the six young men race to stop the weaver before he succeeds in finishing them off.

It’s always a treat when an Author can mix numerous magical creatures and their particular legends, keep everything straight and manage to keep me entertained throughout. The Warlock Brothers can add demons, Fae and one dark, overbearing jackass to the mix of weavers and Vampyre. And we still don’t know exactly what Drake is. He can’t be spelled, controlled or turned, but he doesn’t give off any vibes to any of the various beings that he might belong to their race.

As if fighting for your life while trying to protect the Gate and Otherworld weren’t enough to drive any one insane, Thad has to deal with his insane attraction to a certain red-headed Fae as well as the anger and jealousy pouring of the sexy – it was supposed to be a one night stand – Warlock. Staying focused is difficult, but one missed step could cost them all their lives.

I have to say, this series is very interesting, entertaining and intriguing. A lot of drama and angst mixed with passion and faith. I hope I’m not confusing you with my choice of words, but I don’t want to give certain aspects of the story away, you will have to grab a copy and read for yourself. Definitely worth the read, but read it in order, if you haven’t read Spellbound yet you should start there or you’ll be lost at certain times during this story.

Review: Mikael Volokov is the Alpha of the Yellowstone pack. He’s strong, fierce and commanding. Mikael doesn’t tolerate dissention or anyone questioning his authority, it’s why his pack is so strong and united.

That being said, he’s not a brutal bastard, unless you go after something or someone he holds dear. He listens to his pack, considers their concerns and does everything possible to ensure their safety and happiness. When he’s called to witness a challenge and winds up witnessing something more dark and sinister than expected, he lands in the crosshairs of that darkness.

Denton Arguson is the Alpha of the neighboring pack, Evergreen. He is nearly as fierce as Mikael and definitely as loyal to his pack. When the two realize they are fated mates, Mikael couldn’t be happier. He’s dreamed about his mate since he was a boy, but Denton is less than pleased. He fights the bond and tries to ignore the connection he has with Mikael, but fate won’t be ignored. It will take a lot of patience, understanding and communication if these two are going to fulfill the destiny that was created for them before they were even born.

I have to say, I knew this was going to be a good book, I love everything from this Author. I was literally blown away by how good it was though. Greyson took the mythology that circles shifters and tweaked it just enough to give us something fresh and new.

I loved the references to the Mother and giving things back to the earth so they would be rewarded in return. ‘As ye sow so shall ye reap’ is the moto these wolves live by. But everything in life has to have balance. Where there is light, there is darkness, and when the darkness tries to destroy the land, the packs, and most of all, the wolves spirits, it will take a lot of love, life and trust to defeat it.

A must read for shifter fans, but there is also the added element of what almost reads as earth magic in this story. The relationship between Mikael and Denton is electric, passionate and turbulent. After all, they are both Alphas and while the world Greyson has created doesn’t even blink an eye at two men being mates, two Alphas being mated is unheard of. They have to find their balance as well not only to defeat the darkness, but to find their happiness.

Wonderful story, the flow and pace is perfect and kept me enthralled from beginning to end, and I cannot wait to see where this new series will take several wolves in particular with more books down the road.
