Blurb: Jason Jachovich never dreamed he’d be sold to the Psy only to be turned into a monster from an old Hollywood movie. When the Psy try to use him and the other humans they changed in a war with other paranormals, Jason manages to get free, only to watch as the others like him die in a war they didn’t want to be a part of.
The Alliance is stunned to see what the Psy have created in their attempt to defeat the Alliance. In order to defeat the were-creatures the Psy have sent to fight, the Alliance must kill them, but one manages to survive. Dr. Adam Pratt is sent to study this were-creature in hopes of saving any more they come across. What he didn’t expect was to find his mate and become willing to do anything to save him.
This is the second edition of the original 2014 release. Although there are no significant changes to the story, it has been re-edited and revised.
Review: Jason, one of the Psy’s experiments, wakes up not knowing where he is. He only knows there is a lovely smell and a heavenly voice calling to him. At first he is terrified until the man tells him everything will be alright. Adam is happy he met his mate Jason but is concerned for his welfare at the same time. The two try and help the other understand things that are happening.
There is a lot that happens throughout this story. From confrontations others to rescue missions without planning there is an adrenaline rush as different characters play a role in bringing each scene to stunning life. Action packed and suspenseful this book packs a punch.
I loved everything about the book. I am looking forward to reading about the many characters that were rescued as well as Maui and Ian as in this story we find out they are mates.
Blurb: Jigger is in a new band as a new council member with new friends and now a new mate and his father isn’t taking any of this well and is threatening his new life. The fear is real for both himself and his mate. Having a disability and only being a small fisher cat isn’t going to be much help and he doesn’t know if there’s much Alaska can do, even if he is a bad ass Arctic peregrine falcon.
Review: Each of the Eclipse collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc I would suggest reading them in sequential order.
The Gods have rules and one of the rules is to not get involved in the live of those they helped create. However if they did not they would all die. So they got rid of the old council and brought in a whole new one. Most of those were unique and almost extinct. Jigger is one of those new council members. He doesn’t understand since he was weaker than many around. His legs did not work and he needed glasses. However he was smart, caring and asked the right questions. He was a fisher cat who was not a cat and did not like fish. He had a crush on one of the men in the group, Alaska. He just figured Alaska would not want someone like him.
Alaska wanted Jigger but was afraid he could never have him. After the gods news, well lets just say he wasn’t sure he had the right. Well he is in for a big surprise. Especially when the gods are involved.
I love how there is a special twist to this story for them all, but for Jigger mostly. I loved book one but damn this book was even better than the first. Jigger was a special young man who has had a hard life, but he is about to find out how special he is. This story gave me everything I could ask for. It was action packed, danger filled, excitement overload and lets not forget some hot sexy times. I absolutely loved it.
I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on the next story. I can guarantee that this is one of those stories that will be read many times over.
Blurb:Â A collection of brand-new short stories, featuring characters from The Beacon Hill Sorcerer Series by bestselling author SJ Himes.
Red Wine and Blood The Blood Wars raged for centuries across Boston. Witness a brief glimpse into the brutal history of the Wars with Ignacio Salvatore and the vampire he loves, Ashwin Metcalfe, in 1897.
A History of Trouble Angel was joking when he asked O’Malley if someone resurrected a mammoth. Little did he know that was exactly what someone did. Experience the untold story of what happened that unfortunate night at the Boston Public Museum.
A Dragon in the City What happens when Eroch goes adventuring in Beacon Hill without Angel? Chaos, pure chaos.
Fae’s Gold Daniel is helping the newly-resurrected fae Ruairi Brennan become accustomed to modern-day living. A boring trip to the bank quickly escalates, and Daniel calls Angel for help. The day goes downhill from there but ends in a comfy meal in a pub for an ancient fae warrior and a necromancer’s apprentice.
Review: These are some short little stories that show our favorite couple and a cute familiar in a few different life story. They are the stories that many readers ask for, a little more about the characters, although they do have other charming characters in them.
Red Wine and Blood
Ashwin finds three mages and he knew they were a danger. However even a strong vampire would have trouble fighting them but nope he doesn’t realize till it happens. Thankfully his strong bond with his love, Ignacio comes to his rescue.
A History of Trouble
A group of kids are dead all because they thought it would be fun to raise an animal that has been extinct for many, many years. A mammoth running through the streets as a zombie. Now that would be funny to see, but Angel is sent to send it back.
A Dragon in the City
Eroch had been taken from his family and the cutie finds a new bond with a special man. He does love his bond with Angel but he also loves fried pigeons.
Fae’s Gold
Rory had been in a 200 year old magical coma and now he is trying to make it in the modern world. So Daniel decides to help. Take a large load of gold to the bank to change it in to cash, doesn’t have the reaction that even they thought.
Normally I would give them each a rating but they are all equal. They were a little to short for me but still was fun to read.
I enjoyed hearing about the guys and little Eroch, who is my favorite. O’Malley is an idiot sometimes though. I did love these little tidbits into some of the world we have come to love.
Blurb: Rowan’s life had gone down the toilet ever since his teenage crush had moved away when he was fourteen. Shifting as omega, then his parent’s dying, Rowan knew the only luck he ever had was bad luck. If it wasn’t for his grandmother, he’d have left his pack lands a long time ago. Visiting his Grandmother one night, taking her the baking supplies she used to feed the children of the pack, he was confronted by his worst nightmare – Percy. But to his surprise, the evening didn’t turn out the way Percy and his friends had planned.
Shadow, formerly known as Gray, always knew he’d return to his home pack one day. He just didn’t expect it to take so long. When he comes across his brother Percy, threatening the one he’d always known was his mate, Percy’s night went from bad to worse. Killing Percy was easy for Shadow; wooing his mate was a whole different story.
Between the drugs, the elders, and the fearful pack members, finding time to make Rowan happy was an almost impossible task. But Shadow hadn’t come home alone. If he can find the one man behind all the mess, then he and Rowan’s life would be the HEA he’d dreamed of. That’s provided Rowan doesn’t get killed first.
Review: Shadow left his pack and joined the military to give his young mate some time to grow into an adult. He had seen the nasty side of life and just wanted to grab his mate. However what he came home to was pure chaos. His mate was getting attacked by his asshat of a brother, drug deals were going down, homes were needed to be repaired and so much more.
Rowan had a crush on an alpha wolf when he was fourteen but then that same wolf took off. His parents had been killed, he walked with a permanent limp, his grandmother was trying to keep the young in the pack fed and he was getting hurt every time he turned around. Then in comes his hunk he dreamed of who just happened to be his mate.
I had read a few of the reviews so I was wondering what was so good about this book. And let me tell you that wow, it was far more than what they talked about. I had hoped that this was a series because Talon and the others need to find their mates. I loved Rowan and his strength, and lets just say that his grandmother is a grandmother to be proud of. Shadow was a nice surprise for me. He had not come back to the pack to stay but to grab his mate. Then after seeing what was happening he took the jump.
It is an action packed love story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I can honestly say that this is the story that will be read many times over. Now for the bad news, everything was taken care of to quickly for me. You see some of the action and hear about the rest. However when it got down to some of the fight, there was a bit left out.
Other than my issues with the story it was an amazing story that I would definitely recommend.

Blurb: Lach has spent the last few thousand years counting only on himself. What he needed, he took. What he wanted, he won with charm. All except a god he turned his back on an age ago, when he had a different name and didn’t know what he was giving up.
Thanatos, god of merciful death, is one of the gentlest gods in the pantheon—easing the transition between life and death for billions of mortals. But he has faced eternity alone. After breaking his heart on the sharp words of a fisherman’s son, he hasn’t been able to connect with anyone.
Now, Lach is crashing back into Thanatos’s life, dragging him into an adventure that could save the world . . . or kill them both.
PATRON OF MERCY IS THE THIRD BOOK IN A SERIES, BUT CAN BE READ AS A STAND ALONE NOVEL..
Review: After some time spent apart due to Lach. Thanatos and Lach team up to find Cronus’ Scythe to save the world. I loved everything about this story from the way these two react to one another after seeing each other again to the character descriptions of each one. The quest was well written with plenty of antics and suspense.
I was tickled at Lach’s jealousy. I was very glad the romance/sex did not overshadow the actual plot as is the case in a lot of books I’ve read. This was a very pleasing plot with a lot of good adventure and mayhem.
I adored the characters shenanigans as well as the tender moments. This book kept me on the edge of my seat as the story unfolded. Fantastic read.
Blurb: Shifters and Paranormals face extinction if they do not begin to mate and begin having children again. The problem is if this happens the Gods will become extinct right along with them. A plan is formed and part of that plan is to switch powers between mates until they claim each other. The changes have been made now the rest is going to be up to them.
Waking up to find out you’re a panda instead of the god you have been raised to be is shocking. Discovering your powers have been switched with your mate’s is a major reason to panic especially when your shifter mate is destroying everything around you with earthquakes and tornados. Can Loki convince Gaby that they were meant to be or will the man destroy them all from his fear.
Review: Matings are not happening as they once did and that meant no babies were being born. Shifters would disappear forever if no one put a stop to it and that meant the Gods who had created them would also be gone. So the Gods decided to help as much as they could without truly screwing it up.
Gaby is a gorgeous panda bear shifter and he belonged to a group that was as rare as ever. They had shifters that were going extinct. At a meeting among the paranormal’s things are going to get a bit shocking. On their twenty-first birthday they would switch with their mate and then they had to find the mate. So waking up making the house shake might just shake up his world.
Loki is the god of war but also a trickster. He loved to play tricks and jokes on the other Gods, not that they appreciate it. However he might get the biggest shock of all, when he turns into a panda.
Gods sure do make things complicated even for them. I love how this author gives you a story that is unique and fresh. I liked the idea of Loki and Gaby quite a bit. They are funny as hell and I think Gaby was the perfect partner for Loki. Loki likes to play tricks and pranks on others, well the tables were turned on him. Not a lot of drama but a bit of danger was a good sign, as well as some hot sexy times.
I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on book two. I can also tell you that this story will be read many times over.

Be who you are. That was Asher Walker’s motto. The only problem? He was someone who loved to talk. It didn’t matter what the subject was, because he could find a way to have a conversation with anybody. Even if it meant gossiping about others. He didn’t mean to spill everyone’s secrets, but he also didn’t know how to stop himself from doing so. It tended to make those he met stay as far away from him as possible when all he wanted was to make friends.
Zayn Phelps hated to be around people. To him, it was akin to what he imagined hell would be like. The worst was when he had to carry on a conversation that involved more than the weather. If he had the choice, he’d rather face a firing squad then a group of people.
They say opposites attract, but no one ever explains how to compromise in order to stay together.
Will Zayn find his inner socialite? Or will he end up gagging his mate to find some peace?
Blurb: Baby, youngest son of Poseidon had started to avoid going anywhere near his family. Between love-struck mates, and tiny children, more and more he was starting to feel as if he just didn’t fit. Anywhere. Abandoned by one father at birth, and pretty much ignored by the other, Baby roamed the world, looking for some kind of acceptance, but all he could find was hook ups. And there were plenty of those. Being the son of Himeros, the god of desire as well, wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. But none of the people he saw for brief moments touched his heart, and most of them never wanted him to stay longer than an hour or two at most.
Owen was known by many names, but the one title he’d spent a long time avoiding was that of “Baby’s mate”. Having known who his mate was from Baby’s birth, Owen had stayed hidden away from life, content to watch his mate through his Oracle stone, until more than a thousand years had past. When the destructive behavior he believed Baby was falling into got worse, Owen knew it was time to step in. Baby needed a fixer, and the Fates had given Owen the job.
But Baby didn’t want to be fixed. In fact, he resented the very idea, which meant Owen needed to make a few attitude adjustments. As the two men bumbled along, struggling to find common ground with each other long enough to make a mating work, they weren’t getting any support from Poseidon, Claude or Himeros. When Baby gets another shock, he seriously starts to think hiding in an isolated cave somewhere was a good idea. The question is – will he take Owen with him?
Review: Baby is Poseidon and Himeros son but you would not be able to tell it. Himeros is one hell of a selfish man, dumping him on Poseidon as a new born. He only came around lately because his son is as beautiful as always and the people wanted him. Where as Poseidon was a man whore until he met his fated mate. Even then he still is not warm and cuddly to his older sons. He was a child not raised in warmth or loving arms, abandoned and ignored. He just wanted someone to love him. Instead it caused fights and tempers to rail. Then a god older than even he could conceive showed up and told him they were fated mates. That Owen knew they were fated mates for over a thousand years. Imagine what that does to Baby.
Owen is a god and powerful one. He has always been alone except for one other. He knew from the moment Baby had been born that he was his. However time gets away from even a god, now he has a lot of making up for.
A lot of people said that this was going to be quite different then the others in this series, but truthfully I did not see it. Baby was as sweet as always and lets face it his fathers needed their heads knocked into the wall. They couldn’t even give him a true name, just the baby of the family, so it stuck. I did like Owen but even he needed to be knocked upside the head a few times. I liked how they stood up for each other and to each other.
I had a lot of fun reading this and look forward to the next story. I can guarantee that this will be read many times over. In fact I think I will read it again now. Baby times three is a good ending.
Blurb: Keeping the Peace: A shifter enforcer discovers his mate in a human whose connections make him question Fate’s plan.
As the owner of an authentic Irish pub, Sinjin Gallagher—Jin to his friends—thought he’d seen it all. That all changes when a huge bruiser of a man enters his establishment looking for one of his regulars. To Jin’s surprise, the guy isn’t there to cause trouble…but to stop it. What’s even odder is when he finds himself aroused by the man’s efficiency as he deals with that threat. As a pacifist, Jin doesn’t understand his unexpected desire.
Tideus Solverman runs across information that Councilman Goldstein would be attacked while eating at an Irish pub. As a council enforcer, it’s his duty to stop it. Even with the distraction of the hot pub owner—Jin, his mate—he gets the job done. Realizing his size and abilities intimidate Jin, Tideus still believes with a little patience and the mate-pull, he will prevail. Well, he does until a bit of information comes across his desk—it was Jin who told the rogues when the councilman would be there.
Can Tideus trust in Fate and get the answers he needs, or will he walk away and leave extracting the truth to an impartial enforcer?
Review: Jin has had the worst luck with families. His brother is a self-centred asshat who thinks he is entitled to what ever he wanted. He passed that on to his wife and children. Jin has tried to stay away from him but never really makes it far. Then one night at his restaurant someone tries to kidnap another. The sexiest man shows up and things just seem to heat up for him.
Tideus walks in to help the other enforcers and has found his mate. A mate that might just be working with the rogues and helping plan the kidnapping of one of the councilmen. However things are not what they seem.
As always a fascinating tale with some unique shifters. I love the action packed story with a bit of fun times in it. The only issues I have is that you never get the full story. I want to know what happened to his brother and family, but it always stops just when you might get some answers. Other than that it was still a good read.
I enjoyed reading this and look forward to the next story. I can guarantee that it is the type of story that will be read many times over.
Blurb: The sparkling jewel of the Hidden Gem, City M’s most renowned brothel, Misaki “Aki” Ito is living the good life. He’s not subjected to torture for his psi abilities, he has a roof over his head, food to eat, and all the sparkly shoes he could dream about. He also has one particular regular he can’t get enough of, Shane McNaughton, even if Shane occasionally asks for Aki’s help on a case.
Shane is a cop specializing in missing persons. He’s good at finding people, not just because of his years as a seasoned detective, but because he survived the Third World War and resulting plague with a few supernatural abilities himself. Mutated by the virus that wiped out two thirds of the world’s population, Shane no longer considers himself human. Which is why he limits his visits to a very breakable psi companion when not working a case, no matter how much he might want Aki.
When a high ranking official’s daughter goes missing and feared dead, Shane has no choice but to ask Aki to use his abilities to help him track down the kidnapper. The case opens a door to a past Aki thought he had escaped. Will Shane’s love be enough to save them all when something dark is awakened inside of Aki?
Note: Re-edited, but content still the same. Short fiction added to the end.
Review: Aki is a psi; he has mutated DNA that means he is able to read your past with a touch, but living in a world that fears those that are different left him starving and beaten until he was taken off the streets to become a contracted companion. The Hidden Gem welcomed him with open arms and he has repaid them by becoming their top companion, earning enough money to keep him in sparkly shoes and pretty clothes. Shane survived the Third World War greatly changed; now working as a cop finding missing people and assisting in the odd homicide but keeping people at arm’s length to hide the monster inside him. Shane has visited Aki many times over the last two years for both work and personal needs and he wishes he could have more from the companion. As Shane tracks down a serial killer it becomes clear to him that Ari is somehow connected, but can Shane save him from what is to come?
Oh my, this story certainly surprised me with the intriguing plot and stunning characters. The world has changed from what we know; World War Three changed not only the landscape but for some it changed their very genetics, A-Ms (Animal-Mutation) and not long after came the psi’s. A country split and containment camps and shunning for the psi and A-Ms hiding their natures, this is the world we find ourselves in and it is fascinating. Shane is investigating a puzzling serial killer, asking Aki to help seems to be his best bet for any clue but not even Aki could have seen the outcome that they are heading for.
Shane and Aki are wonderful characters, Shane may be big, growly and not very friendly and when you learn his past you can understand his stand-offish attitude, but he has a soft spot for Aki, then there’s Aki who seems to be a young innocent who has an obsession with sparkly shoes, but has an horrific past and it’s amazing after everything he has been through that he has a soft heart for Shane. They have much to work out before they even start dating, Aki must learn to shield himself and Shane must learn to be what Aki needs and Shane also needs to get to the bottom of his serial killer case which seems to get bigger and more complex with every victim.
I have to admit that I couldn’t put this story down, it’s growth was amazing with plots and twists that just seemed to get bigger and bigger, there was also a couple of moments where my jaw dropped in surprise because the twist just came from nowhere. We are treated to a host of wonderful characters besides Aki and Shane; some of those include Candy, Paris and Jack. We are led a merry chase as we try to figure out who the serial killer is, and just where Aki fits in to Shane’s feeling that he might be connected…. And I will tell you now I think I was shell-shocked by the revelation because that had never even crossed my mind!
The two bonus stories are absolutely brilliant, giving us a special glimpse of Aki and Shane in the first one and of Aki and Candy in the second.
I have to recommend this to those who love science-fiction that blends with the paranormal, who love unconventional love stories, who love surprising thrillers and mysteries, fantastic characters who all have their own stories and a rollercoaster ride that you don’t want to get off.
Blurb: Out of the Cage: A new wolf shifter enforcer accompanies his alpha to San Francisco on a rescue mission, but he discovers something even more valuable than a new pack.
Mishka Fadgen is new to the Stone Ridge wolf pack, and after losing a challenge to earn the beta position, he’s offered a slot as an enforcer instead. His first task comes soon, as the alpha’s daughter, Sara, goes missing from college. Mishka accompanies several others to San Francisco, following a lead to her whereabouts. While his alpha is busy consulting with a detective who’s aware of shifters, Mishka hits the streets and starts searching. What he finds, however, isn’t what he expected—his mate. Mishka discovers a young, crippled human living in an abandoned warehouse. With a lot of coaxing—and the promise of a good meal and a hot shower—Mishka convinces Aramis to join him at the home the shifters have rented. When the detective shows up, an untrusting Aramis disappears. Learning that Aramis may be able to help discover Sara’s whereabouts only heightens his need to find the man once more. If Mishka manages to track Aramis down again, can he convince his mate that his intentions are sincere and not just a means to an end?
Review: Sara and Stephanie have been kidnapped. You can guess the alpha and his mate are going nuts. Mishka was asked to go along also to help. Out on a ride to get a feel of the place leads him to the best scent, his mate. Although he might have a bit of a problem.
Aramis was kicked out of his home at the age of fourteen and had been living in an old abandoned building. His leg and wrist had been injured and never healed right add that in with being homeless and he has a bit of fear of others. However being offered food and shower would turn anyone’s head.
Now this is what I am taking about. Action, danger, excitement and some sexy times are just a bit of what you get in this story. I loved how the guys are with their mates and damn if it is not hot. This world the author has created is a big hit with me and sometimes gives me some good dreams in the evening. The characters are strong and the story sweet.
I loved this story and can guarantee that it will be read many times over. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and I would definitely recommend it.
Blurb: Siberian Tiger shifter, Aleksi Rykov, is amused to watch the enemy chasing one of their own, Psy Seth Tilton, until he realizes it’s his mate. Rescuing his mate isn’t difficult for the powerful Alpha but keeping his mate safe from the war raging between their races may be more difficult.
Seth is taking a chance running to the one man he knows can keep him safe, Aleksi. Seth knows the Psy’s secrets and the Psy will do anything to get him back but with Aleksi’s help, Seth can help turn the tide of the war and uncover the horrible truth. The question is, will Aleksi be willing to help the enemy?
Both sides are against their mating and doing their best to tear the two apart but Aleksi and Seth are determined to stay together against all odds. Can Aleksi and Seth manage to find happiness by Mating the Enemy?
PLEASE NOTE: This is a revised and re-edited version of the original publication. The main storyline has not changed and there are no significant rewrites.
Review: I freaking loved this story so much. Paranormals at war. Humans being experimented on and two men from opposite sides on a collision course to stop the wars from continuing.
Aleksi is the alpha tiger that most paranormals and humans will not mess with he has earned a reputation of being brutal and intense.
Seth is a Psy on the run from people who want to make an example of him in the most brutal way. When he runs onto Aleksi’ territory the two come together to stop the new army from invading. A lot happens in this story. We are introduced to many wonderful characters that bring the story to life in a stunning way.
I am so looking forward to reading more in this series and seeing where the path leads. Will they succeed or fail? Awesome battle scenes and the chemistry between Seth and Aleksi is hot.

Blurb: No matter how much Victor tries to stay out of trouble, he always finds himself right in the middle of it. His ranking in the coven is at the bottom of the barrel, and Riley always reminds him of that. One night, running from his bully, Victor is hit by a car a block from Black Dragon. And the driver happens to be his mate. When a capture warrant is issued for Victor, it’s up to Pierce to keep him out of prison and away from the one man who wants Victor dead.
Pierce is hesitant to take Victor with him to execute a warrant, but is surprised they make a great team. Even so, he finds out quickly that his little vampire is out to prove his worth, and that lands Victor in a heap of trouble. When Victor is kidnapped, Pierce runs to his rescue, and a battle the likes of which Mercury has never seen arises.
Review: Victor was targeted and turned into a vamp when he was just eighteen. He was saved by another who had taken him into their coven. However life was still not as good as one would expect. He was on the bottom of the ladder and picked on by many of the other vampires. Then he ran and ran right into a car. The driver was a shifter who was his mate.
Pierce saved the little vamp on his way to serve a warrant. However his kind did not know their mate by sense but by sex, so he was just a bit jumbled. He did however let him come with him to serve warrants and found out that he was his lucky charm. But the one targeting Victor was just the smaller part of the picture.
I am used to characters such as shifters who know their mate by smell, which for a many good number from this authors work is the way it happens. However this author switched it up which is not a good sign. However it was the exact opposite of the vampires. It made the book off to me. Other than that it was full of action, adventure, danger and fun times. I loved the characters especially Victor. He was a bouncy ball of energy and fun. I had a blast of a time reading it and it was the perfect length. Although I do wish to hear more about my characters I love.
Being a fierce predator—not at all adorable, despite my graceful stature—the last thing I needed was a bodyguard. Especially a wolf shifter, whose presence alone was an insult to my princely principles. As Prince of the Ocelot Shifters, I prided myself on my infallible feline instincts, uncompromisable dignity, and flawless fashion sense. If having a canine follow me around at all times wasn’t bad enough, I now faced the most important moment of my entire life. The time had come to prove I was worthy of my crown. If only I could find a way to get rid of the pesky bodyguard.
Grimmwolf
When the King of All Shifters asked me to guard Prince Owin, I admit I had no idea what to expect. Cat shifters tend to be a little intense, not to mention kinda cranky. Owin was no exception, though he seemed crankier than most. Being his bodyguard was proving to be one of the greatest challenges of my life—but not nearly as great as convincing him there was something special between us. When Owin is faced with a perilous quest to prove his worth, I was determined to keep him safe, even if the same couldn’t be said of my heart.
Review: The king has definitely been up to something. He has sent Prince Owin, ocelot shifter and his trusty bodyguard on a quest. The problem was Owin is a pain in the ass. He had even tried to shove his bodyguard off a bridge one time, to bad he forgot that wolves can swim.
Where as Grim is the next alpha to be in his pack and will be a prince as well. He enjoys driving the adorable ocelot up the wall. He likes the guy but loves to mess with him just as much. These two on a quest that might get them killed or at least killing each other might not have been the best plan but then again.
When I was given this story I didn’t glance at the blurb, just looked at the title. I am not a fan of stories that are historical or close to it, so one glance at the title and cover, well lets just say I almost pitched it back. However I have read this author’s work and even if it has a serious tone to it, there is more humor to have you laughing your ass off. Which is exactly what this story had going on.
I liked Owin more than I thought I would but once you get to know him, you can tell he hides quite a bit. It is a fascinating but strange story that caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end.
I had a blast reading this and would definitely recommend it. I can also say that this one will be read many times over.
Blurb: Being a new member of the undead sect has its ups and downs, something that newly embraced Akio Lee is finding out first hand. Being able to spend eternity with his beloved Vincente, the man who introduced him to life in the nightside, is a definite up. Having to feed on strangers? That’s one of the downsides, and something that Akio is finding difficult to swallow. But what other option is there for a recently wed vampire couple who need blood to survive?
Finding a new donor perhaps? One who comes into the lifestyle willingly, as Akio had done, and is open to the unique and sensual relationship that develops when three men have a blood bond. A man who can exist in both the nightside and the dayside worlds. A man like Ian O’Keeffe, the handsome caretaker of the manse Akio and Vincente now call home? Ian seems to tick every box Akio and Vincente have—he’s comfortable around vampires, he’s obviously into men, he’s drop-dead gorgeous, he’s more than a little mischievous, and he’s human. Mostly.
But will the outgoing handyman be willing to offer two vampires his vein, his body, and his heart?
Review: Nightside, An Eerie Vampire Tale is a novella by VL Locey, and is from the same world as her Shifters of Lake Eerie series, although this is fine as a standalone. Its been a long while since I’ve read the Lake Eeries stories and my memory of them is quite sketchy and even so I had no issues with this novella. Although there were a number of fun call backs that did trigger my memories of the previous Eerie Tales.
Generally, I love VL Locey and everything she writes. And while I did enjoy Nightside, I have to admit that I didn’t get the usual thrill of excitement and chemistry that I’ve come to expect from Locey’s writing. I suppose I shouldn’t always expect to just connect and a love a book, because it found that it took me approximately 40% of the book to really get on board with the characters. I’m not sure what it was that was missing for me because the characters worked really well together, and I found their romance worked well. All I can say is that there was something missing for me personally. This is a little odd, because on top of loving many of Locey’s books, I also happen to love paranormal stories and I also love to read a menage romance on occasion as well.
The story starts off with Akio Lee. He has only recently become a vampire, after being turned by his beloved Vincente, so that they can spend the rest of their existence together. However, life as a vampire isn’t always simple. In Locey’s world, the vampires are truly the undead as in the old school vampire stories, this means that Akio and Vincente need a human blood donor. They want to find a human who is not only a willing donor, but is also willing to be open to the sexual pleasures that can also come about from the intimate act of feeding. Vincente wants the best for his beloved Akio, and while he is more cautious being the older, mature vampire of the two, he and Akio are on the same page in terms of what they want and need both emotionally and physically.
I think this is where things fall apart for a bit for me, because Akio had once been Vincente’s blood donor when he was human and now the couple want to find another human to not only be a donor but is also open to the possibility being a third member in their relationship. To me it becomes something of a vicious cycle.
If nothing else the paranormal community of the Eerie shifters and vampires is quite quirky. There is something about it that is almost Gothic about the world that Locey has created which has left me intrigued. Despite my thoughts on this novella (because it’s impossible to love everything), I’m definitely keen for more.

Howling On Hold
(Mythmatched Universe)
by
E.J. Russell
Sometimes it’s harder to teach a young dog new tricks.
That’s why werewolves embark on a Howling: a three-year rite of passage in which they’re sent to a group residence to wrestle with their wolfy instincts and assimilate into the Wider World. But Tanner Araya’s Howling is almost over, and he could be called back to his remote pack at any moment. His twenty-first birthday might be his last chance to act on his strongest instinct and finally kiss Chase Denney.
Chase is RA at the Howling residence affectionately dubbed “the Doghouse,” and he takes his job seriously. So seriously that when he realized he was developing feelings for a resident, he forced himself to keep Tanner at a distance. But now that Tanner’s twenty-one, he’s not Chase’s charge any longer. They could be friends or—if Chase is lucky—something more. At least until they both return to their home packs for good, as tradition demands.
It would take a miracle for them to get together—especially when the other Doghouse werewolves insist on “helping.”
Warning: Many Frisbees are harmed in this story, forgiveness is not always easier than permission, and the five-second rule does not apply.

Blurb: Best Christmas gift ever: Finding out dragons exist and one of them is your fated mate.
Kymar Weary from centuries spent searching for my mate, I hid away in a mountain cabin until an offer from a friend leads me to the most exquisite omega I have ever seen. From the moment our eyes meet, all I want is to make him mine. A well-timed storm leaves him stranded in my lair, but when the snow melts, he insists on returning to his human life. I’m convinced we’re fated for one another. Can I make this stubborn young man believe it too?
Holden I rode on a dragon’s back. A real, live dragon. In his human form, Kymar is so gorgeous I can hardly breathe around him. I’m drawn to him by a force too strong to ignore, but, magical creature or not, I can’t get involved with him. Happiness never lasts. I’ve learned that lesson again and again. After I walk away, my longing to return grows worse every day until I start to wonder if I can find to courage to believe what my heart and my dragon say is true—Kymar and I are meant to be together.
Review: The Snow Dragon’s Mate is the second book in Silvia Violet’s Lonely Dragons Club series. The books works as a standalone, although we met both MC’s in book one and we also have a few scenes with them as well. However, by and large this is the romance of Kymar and Holden.
I like the premise, which is a group of dragons who are about 1000 years old all long for their mates, living rather solitary lives except when they get together on occasion. With the coming Christmas season gives at least a couple of dragons hope for their HEA. This is a totally enjoyable read for anyone that likes shifters and m-preg but not looking for anything too heavy. This is just purely a romance without no angst.
Like with the first book, this is a relatively quick holiday read and you read in the blurb is essentially what you get, so I’m not going to get into too many details.
I totally loved the first book in this series and quickly had to read this one as well. Honestly, I can’t wait for book three either. If you are intrigued by a Christmas story with an alpha shifter and his omega human mate and throw in some M-preg then you should probably give this one a go. The only word of advice I will give is to those that don’t like insta-love (i.e. the whole fated mate thing in shifter romances) or pushy alpha getting their omega partner into bed. Although, I will admit that Holden is refreshing in that he does push back against the mate bond.
Kymar and Holden meet by chance. Kymar has been asked by his friend Laszlo to pick up a pesky, clingy omega (not Holden) and Holden is checking up on his best friend after Roman had gone off with an alpha he didn’t know (totally against his usual behaviour). Holden is definitely intrigued and instantly attracted to Kymar when he learns about dragon shape shifters by chance in a baptism of fire. Kymar is equally intrigued by Holden, but being a dragon he is sure that there is more between them than simple attraction. Holden isn’t adverse to one night stands and so he is happy to go and spend the night with Kymar. The only problem that Kymar really has is that he has to convince that this isn’t a one time thing and that they have something very important between them.

Blurb: Jayden McLeod is used to betrayal. After years spent at the hands of an enemy and unable to speak after his own brother was forced to suppress his voice, he struggles to connect with the people around him. Particularly his mate.
As a Wolf-Shifter/Spirit Mage hybrid, Rhys Scott is used to hiding who he really is. When Rhys learns what the Spirit element has done to his mate, he is hesitant to reveal his true self to Jayden. Like all secrets though, the truth is revealed and Rhy must prove to his mate that he is worth a second chance.
Things become more dangerous when the Clan discovers Potestas is closer than they thought, and are no longer playing by the rules. With new allies and unknown enemies, the pair must learn to trust one another and accept themselves if they stand a chance of surviving.
Review: Jayden and his little sister had managed to escape the evil they had lived in. Thanks to another brother who they were forced to leave behind. He was lost in so many ways and thinks that he is to broken to be of any use. Then he meets his mate.
Rhy had many secrets and one of them most people hated. He was a hybrid and one part of him was the part that scared the crap out of others. When he meets his mate, he tries to hide it. By hiding it might just get his ass kicked.
It gets to be confusing trying to figure out who everyone is. I know that Jayden’s brother was the reason he couldn’t speak, but it came off that it was not his brothers fault. However you find out that it is not what you think. I just couldn’t figure out who was who in most of the story.
However this story was different in the way that they are elements. However you have an alpha who is tough and an omega who is what an omega is suppose to be, sexual wise. But it is not true in some parts of the story. Jayden was a feisty one and I truly like him. I did like his mate, but there were some parts of him that drove me nuts. I must admit that one has to read the previous books to figure parts of the story. However it was not as remarkable as they should be. I didn’t remember any of the previous stories which is not a good sign for me.
Over all I did like the story but not as much as I should. What I want to know was what happened to the one brother they needed to save. It left me questions without answers, which was another bad sign.
Blurb: Sonny and Leo are settling into their relationship, but there are just a couple of problems. Leo hasn’t claimed Sonny as his mate, and Sonny hasn’t met Leo’s family. Sonny may be a talented kitchen witch that can make perfect honey cakes, but he can’t read his bear’s mind. All he knows is that Leo isn’t acting like a shifter that has found his mate.
Every day, Leo fights with his bear about claiming Sonny. A long courtship isn’t something that shifters usually do, but Sonny is a witch, not a bear shifter. Leo doesn’t want to move too fast and scare his mate off. Then there’s his family. He knows if his family gets a whiff of their relationship, they’ll descend like the pack of bears they are. Leo is learning to be more confident in himself, but he’s afraid to take a chance and ruin the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
A family gathering to celebrate Christmas and the winter solstice may change everything. Well, it might if annoying siblings, self-doubt, and powerful eggnog doesn’t ruin it all.
Review: Sonny and Leo are mates but neither has told the other. Sonny is afraid that it might not be true since Leo didn’t introduce him to his family, however Leo is afraid his family will run his mate off. Sonny is a witch where Leo is a bear shifter, and never mention honey cakes to a bear shifter.
These two are so cute that it isn’t the honey cakes that gives one cavities. Leo’s family could jump of a bridge the way they act towards Sonny. It is a good holiday little story that will be read many times over.
I enjoyed it quite a bit and can guarantee that it is one of those stories that will be read many times over. I just wished it was longer.
