Blurb: Deakin Myers has a perfectly good, though slightly dysfunctional, mate, so why would he need another one? Ran Markson is more than enough for Deakin. Ran is gorgeous, cheeky, so relaxed he could slip into a coma, sweet, and just seems to stumble into trouble. And man, does he ever get Deakin hot!

When his mate has a little bit of trouble at his latest job and the local wolf pack become protective big brothers, Deakin may have hyperventilated and demanded a lawyer. Sure, the pack seem friendly—too friendly really. They keep trying to touch his mate. But they are saying all this stuff about Ran actually having a different name, needing protection, and that he is ill.

But then Ran is shot by an assassin sent by his ex-Alpha, a vicious creature bent on revenge. The local Avenger is called in to eliminate the threat, and all their lives take a very unexpected turn.

Review: Deakin and Ran have been on the move since Ran’s ex-Alpha is intent on harming Ran anyway he can and will stop at nothing to attain that goal. When Avenger Vicus is called in to eliminate the threat to Ran things take an interesting turn.

Deakin is part human, part sprite, has asthma and is a bit high strung at times. The way he acts at times was hilarious but understandable. Ran, is easy going and constantly getting into trouble. But I believe it was a result of what happened by his previous pack.

I loved the interactions between these two despite the situation they find themselves in. Avenger Vicus is used to people giving him a wide berth. He is unused to relationships but knows that Deakin and Ran are his mates. He will do all in his power to protect them.

Suspense, drama and action surround this addition to the Milson Valley series.

Review: I wanted to really like this book but I could not, though I did love the plot of the story. The story seemed to be all over the place. Drake was a little brash regarding Keeley and Xavier was a little too overprotective of Keeley.

I thought they were all mates so I did not understand the distance in regards to being together between Xavier, a vampire and Drake, a shifter. It confused me. Keeley was a little over the top with the games he played with Drake but that was to be expected with what he had been through not to mention another paranormal mate which threw him in panic mode.

The whole back and forth panic, running, battle of wits between the three got tiresome quick. Now I love sarcasm but this was not it. I thought mates were supposed to want to be together? Maybe it’s just me but the book felt off to me.

1907, twenty years into the zombie Plague

Reuben is a baker living in the slums of London, sharing a room with his father and an extended family of cockroaches. Poor, uneducated, and repressing all his sexual desires, he leads a life of misery, only sometimes sprinkled with gin and a rough tumble in a filthy back alley.

But when he is abducted into Bylondon to be the slave of a wealthy crime family member named Erik Dal, his values are put to the test. His new master is obsessed with all things equestrian, and Reuben soon learns that if he obeys and performs well as Erik’s horse, he might just get everything he yearns for: pampering, foods he never even dreamed of, and shameless sex with a demonically handsome young man in leather riding boots.

As Copper, Erik’s treasured dun stallion, Reuben must submit to his new master’s obscene fancy of possessing another man completely. That is, if he yearns for treats and not the lick of a riding crop. Fake tails, harnesses, and a new haircut to his ginger mane help Reuben transform into Copper, but the fear of losing his dignity in the eyes of society might just prove to be a bigger restraint than any bit, bridle, or handcuffs.

All that for the small price of his freedom. Though at times, Reuben feels it’s his soul that Erik is after instead.

Review: Copper Horse: Fear ♥♥♥♥ 3.75 Hearts

I really did not know how to feel about this story of Reuben, a poor baker, who is taken advantage of by a manipulative man, Erik, who makes him his pet horse. This was serious business not just some role play scenario. I found myself angry on Reuben’s behalf and wondered what Erik’s problem was.

We see throughout Reuben’s introduction on being a pony with all that entails.

The Copper Horse: Pride ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

Erik is fighting his feelings for Reuben as Reuben is trying to be better than he was in the first book. I felt that Erik was changing for the better. I liked him more in this book than I did in the previous story. The mens feelings for one another become more pronounced in this addition.

Jack’s Punishment ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Jack’s punishment for helping Copper try to escape is being sent to the kitchen in Mr. Fry’s hands. Unbeknownst to Jack Mr. Fry has wanted Jack since he saw him. Jack feels the same.

It was a hot little read with plenty of steam. I really loved how these two seemed to melt the other.

The Copper Horse: Love ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 ½ Hearts

Erik is betrayed and so flees with Reuben to London. With both of their lives uprooted both do some heavy soul searching and come to terms with their new lives. Erik has to put his trust into people who are friends but is still leery of them and rightly so after what happened. Reuben is confronted with the fact that Erik lied to him.

Emotional yet engaging I truly liked this story. I really felt for these two men and felt their emotions throughout.

All in all it was an interesting boxed set although I did not read the m/f story.

Review: I love this riveting series so much. This book continues from the last as Eli reels from the events that took place. He struggles to move forward as secrets are revealed and characters that were mentioned are brought to a brighter spotlight. As per usual this addition is spellbinding and jaw dropping.

It was interesting to see that even though Eli is in all the books we really did not know who he truly was. I was glad to see questions I had throughout the series were answered in startlingly clarity. This is truly a wonderful gripping book.

Filled with twists and turns that you gasping and others that leave tears in your eyes this story packs a punch. I loved the history and timeline even though it was an ugly period it was still fascinating to see it all play out in the authors writing.

I will give no spoilers only say that to read the book. Highly recommended.

Blurb: Angel Daniels grew up hard, one step ahead of the law and always looking over his shoulder. A grifter’s son, he’d learned every con and trick in the book but ached for a normal life. Once out on his own, Angel returns to Half Moon Bay where he once found… and then lost… love.

Now, Angel’s life is a frantic mess of schedules and chaos. Between running his bakery and raising his troubled eleven-year-old half brother, Roman, Angel has a hectic but happy life. Then West Harris returns to Half Moon Bay and threatens to break Angel all over again by taking away the only home he and Rome ever had.

When they were young, Angel taught West how to love and laugh, but when Angel moved on, West locked his heart up and threw away the key. Older and hardened, West returns to Half Moon Bay and finds himself face-to-face with the man he’d lost. Now West is torn between killing Angel or holding him tight.

Review: Angel Daniels and West Harris spent a wonderful summer together when they were younger. Now years later Angel is back in town. West and Angel but heads in a business dispute.

But in between all the emotional drama is danger in the form of an unseen threat wanting both men dead. Heart stopping, riveting, fast paced this book packs a punch. I had a problem with the fact that it seemed as though Angel and West wanted to reconnect something would happen to break it apart. As a result it seemed as though their relationship was an afterthought to all the other things going on.

Aside from that I really enjoyed both characters and the struggles they work through as they seemed to grow more. Entertaining and addicting this addition leads the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Great read with engaging characters throughout.

Review: Isiah and Claudius look exactly alike except for they are not family. Mitch, a human, needs somewhere to live. His friend introduces him to the twins who happen to have an extra room. The price, watch over the twins as their guardian.

I loved this book. It has so many twists and turns that left me holding my breath and surprised. Someone wants the twins dead. One of those someone’s is Gabriel, Isiah’s cousin. But alas all is not as it seems. There is more going on than even these men know.

There is corruption, action, suspense, romance all throughout. I found myself immersed in the story before I knew it and was not disappointed with the direction it took. I’m very glad this is a series so there will be more to come.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: Promises are meant to be broken sometimes. Can Kimball complete the mission and keep his feelings for fellow agent Darien in check in the process?

Darien Mosely, aka BA Pointe, is a former NYPD officer with a chip on his shoulder. He came to PROTEKT in search of a new identity and career after being accused of killing a man in cold blood. Darien’s keen perception is what has made him an asset, but his cockiness has often landed him in hot water.

Kimball Emerson, aka Justice Masters, is an important figure in PROTEKT. Being a former army sergeant, he’s used to keeping secrets and being in danger on a regular basis. As one of the prime figures in the organization, he is counted on to be the finisher and, for the group’s latest task, he’s been called upon to find the leaders of a Russian mob. It should be easy enough with all his knowledge and special skills but not with his close friend Darien Mosely along for the ride.

Kimball made a promise to his fiancé that he’d come back in one piece and not watch his partner’s ass, but he isn’t sure he’ll be able to keep the latter. Darien and Kimball have been best friends for five years and, at a Christmas party several months ago, they shared a kiss that left an indelible mark on their relationship.

This latest mission calls for focus and calmer heads if they are to find the offenders who are bringing illegal drugs into Russia. The question is, how can they do it with mutual feelings and the threat of extreme danger looming over their heads?

Review: Kimball and Darien are two of the top agents in PROTEKT. They are the best of the best and damn good at their jobs. Attraction leads to a kiss at a party and then leads to the men hiding their feelings. Kimball is in a relationship and Darien is a love ‘em and leave them type. They have so far been able to avoid the other since the kiss until now.

A new mission throws the two men together again and tensions are high when a threat emerges to eliminate anyone who stands in their way. It is a race against the clock to discover who the culprits are before anyone is killed. Meanwhile Kimball has secrets that are best kept hidden for everyone’s safety.

I loved this book. Mystery, suspense, action and drama are entwined into an amazing plot that keeps the reader spellbound as we see how everything plays out. This is brilliantly written with the right amount of snark and angst from Darien as well as the seriousness from Kimball for one hot ride into the unknown.

The actual mission is proceeded with extreme caution by the time team as well as unknown persons at work with PROTEKT. All the characters had their roles to play and boy did they play them well. I usually guess what all is happening well before the end but this story had me guessing about some things until they revealed.

I cannot say enough good things about this book to do it justice so just go read it. Fantastic story all around. Highly recommended.

Review: I wish I could give this story more than five hearts as it was an amazing book to read. I loved the details regarding each enhanced team member. Though I have to admit I want to get know them all better. Talon is the leader of a team (H.E.R.O. Human Enhanced Rescue Organization) whose unique abilities will help where the police cannot and hopefully end the bigotry against them, and he is also against them having human partners.

The team is human apart from Gael, Vance, Eli, Sawyer and Talons abilities. The way the enhanced are treated really pissed me off. Just because they have abilities does not mean they are animals and inhuman. I was glad that some people in the department thought the same.

I seriously liked Finn. He was not afraid to go after what he wanted and despite his dyslexia he strived to do the best he could. I disliked his mother and brother with a passion. I felt he flourished with the team despite the rocky start.

This book is action packed, suspenseful with a romance added in the mix. Talon needed to seriously get his butt out of his head and stop treating Finn like he didn’t belong. Despite that Talon started to admire Finn’s determination. There was a lot of tension at the beginning between these two as well as the members of the team.

I seriously hope there will be books about the other enhanced members of the team as I would love reading their background stories in more detail as well as seeing how the react and interact with a partner of their own. I can’t recommend this book enough as it was a fantastic story that I enjoyed to the very end.

Review: This is the third book in the Ennek series. Ennek and Miner have finally come home. Only to find things have changed since they have been gone. It is a struggle to accept the changes of this new society while at the same time dealing with their own fears.

It was a wonderfully written, if not slow, ending to an intriguing story. I loved seeing how both the MC’s interacted with each other and others. They faced foes head-on and struggled to make a life for their selves in a world where nothing is certain.

As the story progressed I hoped for Ennek and Miner’s chance to live a peaceful life without all the drama that usually ended up happening. All in all it was a great ending to a really good trilogy.

Blurb: Savarin, the most powerful sorcerer in Tournai, has honed his Talent through years of study and made magic his life. Among the wealthy and noble circles he moves in, no one would suspect the handsome, refined, and arrogant sorcerer’s humble beginnings, which is how Savarin prefers it. Tournai’s princes task Savarin with studying and strengthening the spells that protect the principality from magical attack. They are complex, centuries old, and exactly the type of puzzle Savarin is eager to solve. To his annoyance, the princes insist Loriot accompany him.

Loriot worked his way up the ranks of the royal guard to captain and takes pride in his service. He must obey the princes’ orders to protect Savarin, despite believing his skills would be best used elsewhere. And despite his wariness of magic. UnTalented himself, he has learned not only the benefits of magic but also its potential for harm—and how to counter it. Loriot and Savarin clash during their journey, but there’s another reason for the tension between them, and passion develops into feelings neither expected. But Savarin must still fortify Tournai’s magical barrier, and his only solution endangers both him and the royal family.

Review: Savarin is a powerful sorcerer sent on a mission to find the weaknesses in the protection spells surrounding Tournai and determine how they came to be that way. What he does not expect is for the prince to assign someone to go with him as protection.

Loriat is the captain of the royal guard tasked, much to his displeasure, in protecting Savarin on his journey. The Captain thinks Savarin is arrogant and standoffish. But he is still attracted to him.

The first 100 pages is basically these two men ignoring one another yet expressing their thoughts for the readers. I find I did not connect with either character as the story progressed. The so called strong feelings each expressed I did not believe. Caring for one another yes. But love? No.

I loved the plot of the book. The protective spells that surround Tournai are weak in spots and Savarin is tasked to come up with a way to fix them. The way they are explained was fascinating and complex. I have to admit I cared more about the spells than the characters themselves.

There is a lot of drama and angst in this book between the two MC’s. The mystery surrounding the protection spells and what was happening to them pulled me into the story as I read more. All in all it was a good read.

There are a lot of obstacles to the relationship they attempt to build after their date, not least of which is Way’ra’s upbringing and his lingering doubts about the kinky sex Neal enjoys. Review: Way’ra is a man struggling to make ends meet after his religious family so cruelly kicked him out for catching him with another man. Because of the way he was brought up he thinks being gay is wrong and so hides his sexuality. I thought Way was sweet and shy. He should not have been made to feel what he desired was anything to be ashamed of.

With no money and nowhere to go he gets a job at the Iron Eagle Gym. He stays in the supply closet at night and eats when he can. One day Master Neal introduces himself and invites to coffee. Despite being terrified he accepts.

Neal was so strong and caring regarding Way. I loved that he took his time waiting for Way to come out of his shell. He felt a strong pull to the young man and wanted to help him anyway he could especially after seeing how he lived and what happened.

With Neal’s help Way begins to heal from the damage that was done to him and begins to live again without fear. I loved how caring Neal was with Way. This is an emotional yet hot book with plenty of steamy encounters.

Although the explanation he finally gets sounds plausible, Riley’s still acting strange, and trying to figure out why that is unearths emotions Alex has worked hard to bury.

Review: Riley is minding his own business when suddenly he is attacked by demons. Khalon and his warriors come to the rescue and whisk him away to another realm. Riley is not happy and tells them all this. He wants to go home. But alas he is the mate of Khalon who is also not happy with the idea of being mated to a human.

They all travel to go to the high priestess to correct the bond. But along the way the two grow closer and secrets are revealed casting a new light on why the high priestess sent Khalon to Riley.

I really enjoyed this story so much. It was both intriguing and fascinating. Learning about the Soldati was very refreshing. I loved that Riley was no pushover; he was sarcastic and humorous at times as well as understanding. Khalon seemed a bit uptight but that did not diminish the story. His character fit the story perfectly.

Many other characters were introduced in this first installment. I can’t wait to see what is in store next. Filled with action, drama, and sexy men this book grabs hold and does not let go until the very end.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: This time, it’s a real bunny shifter and you know the saying about doing something like bunnies…

Oliver Biggerstaffer comes to Texas from Boston, looking for a job and a new life. He’s hoping the advertising firm he interviews for will hire him, and he can put his past where it belongs—behind him. No one will know who or what he is—a snake shifter.

Except he’s interviewed by Jagger Osterman, a bear shifter, and he meets a cute bunny shifter at the hotel where he’s staying. Oliver can’t hide his shifter status from them. And he doesn’t want to, once he meets them—especially the bunny, Peter Ruiz. It’s lust at first sight, but Oliver wants to take things slow as long as he’s staying at the hotel Peter’s working at.

Peter wants to get laid, and he wants to get laid now. The sexy snake shifter he’s attracted to has morals and ethics and things most of the guys Peter’s screwed around with before lack.

Oliver treats Peter like a person, not a body to have sex with, and if they can survive a series of weird accidents that might not be accidents after all, then Oliver and Peter just might have a happy ending all their own.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of violence and kidnapping.

Review: Oliver is a snake shifter has moved to take on a new job. He meets Peter, a bunny shifter, while staying at the hotel where he works. Oliver has been having weird accidents and doesn’t understand why. To keep Peter from being affected he tries to send him away with no success.

Peter is frustrated by Oliver’s constant pushing him away for one thing or another. He does the only thing he can do; he goes against Oliver and stays. This was an interesting story with drama, mystery, suspense, and humor. I loved the combination of these genres as they complemented each other throughout.

I loved this addition to the City Shifters series and highly recommend it.

Review: This is book three in the mermen and magic story. Kai and Dax are decreed to be together which I did not completely understand as I thought, from the previous books, that oracles were meant to be alone since they cannot go up on land.

However, I did find the struggles these two men faced head on almost as a set up for them to fail. But they conquered them and won out to a point. I truly felt sorry for them as the restrictions and rules in Atlantis seem out of date to me. But such is the law in Atlantis.

Dax and Kai faced many obstacles in their quest. A lot happens in this book that made it worth the read. It was a great addition to the series that enjoyed reading to the end.

Great book.

Review: This trilogy follows the lives of Sean and Asbjorn as they struggle through ups and downs to make a life for themselves.

BreakfallLGBreakfall

Heart Rating: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

There was a lot of information about martial arts in this story. It was a bit much and the actual story seemed to fall to the background because of it. Then through in the mix a stalker and there is your story. I don’t know how I feel about the way Sean was treated by Asbjorn after he was brutally attacked by the stalker. Seemed to me if he cared for him he would have been more understanding.

SwordfallLGSwordfall

Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

This book picks up where the first book ended. The stalker/assassin is back with a vengeance and all Sean’s new self-confidence is slowly torn away. Needing a change of scenery Asbjorn takes Sean to see his family. But things go from bad to worse as added stress and another attack leaves them reeling and Asbjorn wanting to remove the threat to Sean permanently.

LandfallLGLandfall

Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

The killer is finally taken care so the couple should be happy but with the pressures to finish college mounting Sean ends up getting ill. Asbjorn feels out of sorts as well but when Sean gets a letter in the mail saying he’s won a boat they head off for some much needed rest and relation. Unfortunately things do not go according to plan as per usual. They get stranded on an island, a body washes ashore.

All in all it was a good series with some major issues being dealt with as one struggles to come to terms with happened to him and the other trying his best to protect them both from a killer and the world. But as with life it does not come without its ups and downs. Great read.
