Review: Interesting story about a supposed human, Jason, who loses all his emotions when he was 25 and can now do some kind of mind magic, getting kidnapped by a human trafficking vampire’s goons and being able to escape and rescue all the others that were taken as well. He rescues Tyler, a tiger shifter and Toby a human from the vampire and they become his mates.

I didn’t understand how Jason became an Alpha when the story kept mentioning which paranormal creature he wasn’t but never elaborated as to what he actually was. I did like the fact that so many different paranormals and humans came together to help others that were kidnapped though.

Action packed with mystery and danger. Although I loved, the story I felt it was a little confusing at times, as the book needs a little editing because some sentences throughout the book don’t make sense with both spelling errors and omitted words that should be there. Other than that, it was a good read.

Review: Wow…emotions much??

In this novella, we get a closer glimpse of the pain and agony George and Jesse were going through when Jesse’s wife was insisting on keeping them separated. The emotions were off the charts and so hard to read. It made me physically ache for them.

Kennedy’s pain from finally losing Jesse was bought more to life here too. She actually finds comfort and a good friend in Zac, Jesse’s brother and I really think he’s what helps her start healing.

We also got a closer look at Zac. He is awesome! He has absolutely no filter and pretty much says and does what he wants (which right now, and hopefully permanently, is Elliott). I absolutely love him and Elliott together – they balance each other well and maybe Zac will get Elliott back to life and get him to live a little more and once and for all protect him from his awful father.

All this book did is wet my appetite for book 4! I want it right now!

Blurb: When a small creature has an unfortunate run-in with his car, Deacon Hearst wonders what in the world hit his windshield. A bird? A butterfly? No, that would make Deacon’s crazy life too simple. It is a fairy—or rather a Sidhe—with a gaze the color of the moon and thus eloquently named Mooneyes. The little creature’s wing is broken, and it’s shivering in the rain, and well… Deacon has a heart, after all.

While nursing Moon back to health, Deacon discovers Moon’s beauty is more than skin deep. Though they’re very different, especially in size, they’re alike in their loneliness, their need for affection. Despite the weirdness of the situation, Deacon finds himself falling for his not-quite victim.

Deacon thinks it’s a hopeless—gah!—love, but what if it isn’t? Moon might just have a few secrets of his own, secrets that could change everything in an instant and weave a different path for them both.

Review: This story was the first book I have read by Alana and I was amazed by it. It is a fantasy, one that draws you in and keeps you captivated by it. The way the story is told has you upset and wondering how families can be so stupid.

Even in the end most of the families stayed with their reasons, but there is a bit of acceptance with the brother. To be pushed to be someone you are not and to marry those you cannot love is a horrible feeling. I cheered at the ending for these two gorgeous men and would love to know about the rest of their lives.

Deacon’s family is pushing for him to marry a female, even knowing he is gay. They still think it is just a phase and are driving him crazy with it. So much so that on the drive home, something hits his window. At first, he feared he had hit a bird, but realized that it was speaking to him. He was shocked to say the least, but in the end did the right thing.

He took the little guy home and took care of him. Things turn to friendship and then to love. Especially when he realized that Moon had a human form. A human form that turned him the hell on, although to be fair even when he was in his fae form he still got turned on.

Moon was running away from his family when they kept pushing for him to mate with a female. Once they found out that his gift was singing, they treated him somewhat different. He knew that it was wrong to leave as he did, but he just couldn’t stay. He had gotten lost and then ended up on the windshield of a human. At first fear was his reaction, but then it turned into love.

When his family located them, he knew he had to give Deacon up, but things do not turn out the way he thought. His mate was immune to his powers and even though they had been separated for a few days, their love brought them back together.

I had a blast reading this story and look forward to reading more by this amazing author. It is her first book that I have read and was impressed by the way. It just flowed off the pages. There is a hint of humor that makes it even better for me. It gave me what I needed for this book to be a wonderful read. Gorgeous men, a paranormal and fantasy tone, a feisty little fae, excitement, dangerous situations, suspense, fear, and a happily ever after ending. Although they have lost a lot to gain so much.

I would recommend reading this book. It will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and cheering these two men on.

Review: Who doesn’t enjoy a heart warming, feel-good novella? I’ll read adorable MCs who fall happily in love like Will and Josh any day. It’s so refreshing to see characters (both main and supporting) that are just overall good people. There’s no angst here, no meanness, no major brokenness, just reality with a dose here and there of ‘stuff happens’.

Like Will, sometimes in life we do fall for the person that is not our type. Like Josh, there are moments in life where we must confront personal issues in order to find and/or keep our own happiness.

I loved their honesty, how Will and Josh don’t hide from who they are individually or how they feel about each other. There is no game-playing here, no miscommunication, and no angsty drama. What we are dealing with here is just real life and real people, who sometimes react based on their own hang-ups.

For such a short read there is a great depth of character here and tremendous growth on the part of the MCs. Even so, there is lightness to this story, a fluffy sweetness that just makes you smile.

‘Pumpkin Rolls and Porn Sounds’ – The title definitely captured my attention. You’ll have to read it see why it was named (very appropriately, I might add), but this book is way more than the wacky yet enticing title. If you’re looking for a quick read that puts a smile on your face and a little skip in your heart, this is one I definitely recommend.

Review: I have to say that this was not my favorite story at all. In fact I wanted to rip most of the characters apart. It is so sad to watch a child go through what this young man went through. It is not a happily ever after book either which made it even worse for me.

The story itself without my actual feelings was well written and an excellent story. In fact I would wish more people would read this story. I spent most of the time just crying because you can feel this boy. The pain he must have felt not just from the physical abuse but the mental abuse. His mother, I mean his own damn mother was such a bitch to him because he was gay. She allowed the physical abuse by her husband, his step father. People like that should have been shot before they were allowed to have children.

Christian had known he was gay for a while and he was fine with it. Then he was caught at an early age and his life went downhill from that. His mother would slap him around and call him such filthy names. She would allow his step father to smack him around. His brother and sisters were just as emotionally abusive as the parents. He tried so hard to live with it. He had started a relationship with his teacher when he turned eighteen. However the teacher was also involved with a woman. So there are lots of issues all the way around.

Damien did want Christian. Had since he first walked in to his class. When Chris’s parents kicked him out, he helped him by getting him a motel room. However it went further than that. He was seen however and was going to be black mailed, his fiancé found out and went after Chris. He kept it up till he knew he would lose it all. He didn’t even think of what it would do to Chris.

I hate damn selfish people and Damien himself should have been shot. He took advantage of a young boy and basically used him. This was a good story but I wished I hadn’t started reading it. It was definitely more real than most books you come across and you can see it happening with the children out in the world.

I would recommend reading this book. It is a tearjerker and will have you pissed off. If you want to know what many gay children go through in real life, read this book.

Review: There are a lot of words to describe this book: intense, poignant and emotive are the first words to come to mind.

The MCs of this are Hunter and Gabe. Hunter converted to Christianity at the age of 16 (his family largely non-religious). The reason for which appears to me because he was confused, like many teen, particularly with his sexuality. This ongoing confusion for Hunter, even at 26 and now a software salesman, is the heart of the emotional conflict throughout the book.

Gabe is 25. He is a massage therapist with a degree in fine arts and performance. He, like Hunter and other young men like him, is at war with himself about his feelings towards other men. But to give Gabe credit, his inner war isn’t as bad as Hunter’s. Once the two meet, a slow burning attractions starts and the sexual tension between them is understated, bringing the emotion of these guys into the spotlight.

This is no light read by any stretch of the imagination. I recommend not trying to rush through the story but take your time and take each bit of emotion and information as it comes. Then by the time you finish, if you felt the least bit of connection or emotion for the characters this is the type of book that will likely be stuck in your head for a while. It’s not the usual Christian gay men exploring their sexuality with almost cloak and dagger precision.

It’s almost like a coming of age for two men in their mid-twenties. The big picture of the book is nicely dealt with – and with common sense – as these men are reconciling their faith and spirituality with their sexuality. There is also the repercussion of forcing a particular life style based around faith rather than being yourself (i.e. suicide and mental breakdown).

Again something that was tastefully done. In the end, I feel that “man” has a lot to answer for when it comes to enforcing something that isn’t a big part of using a belief system as a spiritual guide.

Finally, I appreciated the poignancy of the epilogue. It’s a nice summary and almost bittersweet. It’s probably what no one wanted to read for the characters, nor did I particularly expect it, but it is also sweet and true to life.

Blurb: Alex Palmer writes the “Dear Alex” Agony Uncle column for Meant for Men – a magazine aimed at gay men’s life and issues. What started as a genuine and ground-breaking feature has become a snark fest, due to Alex’s boredom and personal cynicism. His respect for the correspondents has dwindled away in direct relation to his own self-respect as a journalist. He no longer believes in his readers’ search for a soulmate, or in his own column’s headline: “Is He Really the One?”

In the early days, Robbie Cooke was Alex’s co-presenter on the magazine. They’d been lovers, too. But unlike Alex, Robbie still sees the anguish and need behind the letters they receive. He wants to help the writers, rather than turn their situations into journalistic entertainment. He and Alex may still have to work together, but their fundamental disagreement on how to run the column tore them apart as romantic partners.

Excess drinking and a succession of casual lovers are wearing Alex out, yet he’s in denial. He’s convinced he doesn’t need “Dear Alex” to set him straight about what’s wrong with his life. But when he’s alerted to the fact that Robbie may be in danger, he realises that what he’s really missing is his ex-lover’s care, compassion and love. The problem is, by the time Alex is desperate to make amends, Robbie may have already moved on.

This was originally published in the Dreamspinner Press anthology “Make Me a Match”.

Review: Alex wasn’t what one would call likeable, but I am easily amused by a good unapologetic slut, so that drew me right in. Apparently Alex has managed to drink and screw himself stupid because he doesn’t remember throwing the best thing in his life away. I’ll have to urge you to suspend a little belief on that one (who forgets a bad breakup?) because it’s worth it.

As Alex muddles through his mess of an existence, a funny thing starts to happen. He slowly realizes what he’s done to his life and what he’s lost, and begins to feel again. This is where Clare London shines. It’s her writing that does this character justice, redeems him and makes us feel for him. The path he takes to this redemption of both himself and his previously doomed relationship is what makes this story a stand-out.

There was quite a bit of emotional depth for a quick read, and even though I thought Robbie was pretty much insane for holding a torch for Alex, I was happy to see it all work out. I’ve always liked reading Clare London, and this is no different.

Set to the backdrop of numerous ‘Dear Alex’ letters, this was a short and enjoyable (though not necessarily easy) read that I’d recommend in a heartbeat.

Review: Although this was a very well written book. I found myself constantly loosing focus in it the further I read. I found that I didn’t care for people trying to make Stephen do something he wasn’t interested in just because others felt it was for the best.

Stephen seemed like a smart, intelligent young man who was tricked by his own mother to enter into a proposal he had no knowledge of beforehand. Terrance seemed sweet if not a little too abiding by the rules of Cordania which seemed really outdated and old-fashioned in the extreme.

I’m sorry but this book was not for me. I’m sure others would like it though.

Review: Each book in Hounds of Hell collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way Flynn can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Flynn.

There is something about the way that Flynn tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives.

I had a blast reading this story. The only real problem I have is that it is not long enough. I want a book that will keep my attention for hours on end. This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break.

After reading this book, I realized that there was nothing missing from any of them. The mates, the ones that are to be protected are the children of the angels. They are confused, hurt and partially damaged from their past. They have trouble communicating and trusting those around them. Everett is one of those souls.

While trying to survive he had been a stripper, but many thought that meant whore. When Geir approached him, it set them back because he had been called whore. He explained it and Geir tried to fix it. However the communication between them was not very good. He had always thought his parents were evil and sold his soul for a fresh chance for them. Now his father was back, even in demon form trying to make amends. He had many things to figure out.

Geir had found his mate, but made the mistake of not telling Everett first off. The hell hounds seem to have that problem. They were over a thousand years old and had lots of trouble showing and talking about what they are feeling. He wanted to train his mate to be able to protect himself, but when he talked things just came out wrong. He had to find a way to fix what was wrong. T

hanks to one of the angels, he had a little bit of a head start. Now he just had to show him that he did indeed love him. He would also protect him from the dangers coming at them.

I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the others in this series. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Flynn puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a lot of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: Each book in Return of the Originals collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way Aeryn can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Aeryn.

There is something about the way that Aeryn tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect the ones they love with all that they have. I had a blast reading this story.

Killa is one of the originals. He was a drashers. Basically he was a big reptile when he changed shapes. He was also one of the biggest players known, which is funny because he is being taken down by a little wolf. He had sex with the cutie, and then basically pushed him out of bed. If he had his head on straight he would have known sooner, that the cute and sexy little wolf was his mate. Now he had some major ass to kiss.

Keen had basically been abused most of his life by his own family. His new family saved him and brought him to their home. He was scared but also so damn brave that it would make your heart swell. At first he had thought Killa just didn’t want him like that, but once the big idiot realized what Keen was to him, well he has made up in spades.

Their sex life was extremely heated and so much fun. With a little kink added in, they were setting the sheets on fire. Now if only they could keep his evil family away from him. Killa would do everything in his powers to keep his little mate safe.

I had a blast reading it that is for sure. I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the others in this series. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Aeryn puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a just a touch of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book. I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing and loving.

Gorgeous men, sexy shifters, excitement, action and danger is just a part of this story. I would recommend reading this book. Be ready for a late night.

Review: This is a cute little anthology with five stories where the men have the cutest animals or exotic ones. They have more humor in them that I have read in a while. I had a blast reading it and look forward to reading more. I must admit that pets make the best friends and best friends love to set you up for a bit of loving.

That and a pet show the tender side of their owners. A very hot little book that gave me almost all that I could ask for. I couldn’t put it down until I read the whole book.

Mischief Makers by Ann Anderson ♥♥♥♥4Hearts
Dustin is living in his apartment with a momma cat and her two kittens. Sounds cute he is not technically allowed to have pets in his apartment. So when he comes home to find the little trouble makers missing, he knows he is in major trouble. They were saved by one gorgeous man, who made his heart beat fast and his palms sweat. Lucky for him, that Adam is looking for a roommate, and pets are welcomed.

This was one cute and hot little story. I loved the way it just flew off the pages. Other than the fact that it was too short, I found myself loving it quite a bit. It was just so damn adorable to read.

Princess Cocoa Puff by Jenna Hale ♥♥♥♥4Hearts
Thanks to Sandy, Andrew was the proud owner of a pain in the ass cat. The problem was he never wanted a cat. Sandy wanted Andrew not to be alone, but he was going to kill her once he got his hands on her. That is until Princess Cocoa Puff took off, and one hell of a sexy neighbor brought her back.

I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by this amazing author. I laughed my ass off with this book. At first I was not too sure of Darren’s attitude but he proves to be an interesting guy. I wished that it was longer though, because I would love to read more by these two gorgeous guys.

Puppies Love by Tracey Michael ♥♥♥♥4Heaerts
Leo and Dante have been together for two years. One year as boss and employee, then Leo fired his ass. Then as a couple. Leo had a big surprise for Dante, but on the way to the restaurant, they found a momma dog and some puppies. Some ass had thrown them out on the side of the road. Leo’s plan had changed a bit, but now he had one hell of a happy man.

This was the cutest of all the stores so far, and that is saying something because they are amazing. I loved how Leo fires him, and then asks Dante out on a date in the beginning of their relationship. You can just see the heat between them and feel the love they have for each other. I also loved how it didn’t take long before Dante had fallen in love with the dogs. I had a blast reading this book.

Elephants Knows Best by Lor Rose ♥♥♥♥4Hearts
Ethan had been taking care of injured elephants since he was little. He loved them quite a bit. He didn’t know what he would do without them in his life. There was someone else that he was falling in love with, but he never thought it would happen. That is until Corbin made his move.

This was a cute little story that had me smiling. I think there is something more about this story but you don’t read about it. For the true passion to come out I would assume that this story would have to be made longer. However I loved this story just a bit more. It was a blast to read.

Agent Princess Twinkle Buttons: Matchmaker by Amanda C. Stone ♥♥♥♥4Hearts
Max had the best unique animal I have ever seen. He had a prairie dog for a pet. He takes her out for walks all the time, but it also has another purpose. He has seen one sexy man working out and loves to get a look at him. To his surprise Guy has been planning on getting to know him as well.

I think that this book was perfect. I love the way they take it slow trying to get to know each other. It was so tender and caring that had me smiling through it all. I had a blast reading it and look forward to reading some more by this author.

Overall, I was quite pleased by this anthology. I have never laughed so hard when reading an anthology. It was a blast to read. I have always loved books that are paranormal or that just include animals. So these animals included in these stories made it even better. I loved it and look forward to reading more by these authors. I had just wished that they were longer in length.

I would recommend reading it. What is cuter than men with animals.

Blurb: Adam Rivers is still getting used to life as being the only human mated to a dragon in an enemy nest. His lover, dragon warrior Novik Grey, is always accommodating, even if there are others who want to see Adam gone.

After Novik rescues a friend of Adam’s, tension in the nest rises, and the humans are considering going to war against the dragons. This is enough to cause a lot of stress and anxiety throughout the dragons, and Adam doesn’t want to complain, even when a few people come a little too close, sound a little too threatening. Adam wants to take some of the load off of Novik’s shoulders by handling this himself, by proving that he doesn’t always have to rely on Novik to save him.

When the dragons get together and form a plot to get Adam out of the nest, without his or Novik’s permission, Adam might just be a little in over his head.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

At the start of the book Adam and his friend Jason are waiting for the return of Novik and some other dragons who went to the village to rescue Athy. When they get back everyone is happy for a time. At least until it is learned that the villagers are getting riled up to attack the dragons.

Now both dragons and the human servants are treating Adam and his friends like they have the plague.
The relationship between Adam and Novik has continued to strengthen. However the story was not all about them. There are also looks into other characters like Jason and Kraigan, and Blue and Lighting. These lead me to hope that they will have their own stories in the series.

Although this book was not as enjoyable as the first for me, I think it was also a way of preparing for the rest of the series. It explores other characters and also seems to give a possible story arc of the issue with the human village and the difference of opinion the dragons have with each other. It also dropped a couple of little bombshells off that I really want to get more answers on.

It was fast paced and well written, and with enough steamy moments to keep me happy without being too much. New characters and situations were introduced and have pulled my attention. So overall, I will be looking forward to more in this series.

Review: Wow, there is so much emotion just begging to be fanart tucker sotlc lynn kelling songlet out in Lynn Kelling’s newest release, Song of the Lonesome Cowboy. From the first page, Tucker Reynolds, singer, song-writer, and most of all, extremely loyal to his friends, is breaking into a million pieces. For years, he has been hiding his torment from an innocent encounter, hiding in the closest with his sexuality, and hiding from his friends the nightmares he faces almost nightly.

Lynn Kelling has accomplished once again what she is so good at. Putting words on a page that turn into a living, breathing story. Tucker, at the immature age of 21, thought he was doing what was best for his band and mates. Unbeknownst to him, he was signing a deal with the devil. A man-eating predator that would suck the life out of him for the next several years.

Tucker is hurting and lonely. He’s physically and mentally exhausted. Secretly, he suffers from nightmares of abuse, alone, so others don’t worry about their futures. He always feels as though he is being pursued by the world instead of having a tangible connection to it. Tucker’s life consists of lies, secrets, and deception. He carries a constant ache and fear of times past and times to come.

Tucker’s only saving grace was his best friend, Mags. A straight man who Tucker lusted over secretly and loved with everything he had. Mags had a horrible childhood and a family that continuously let him down. Determined to give Mags the security he needed and a happy life, when their band signed with a big time record producer, Tucker kept the conditions to himself.

After years of abuse, drugged, being raped and tortured, and watching Mags bed one woman after the other, he is at his breaking point.

I sank down onto the couch, and restlessly rolled up the sleeves of my shirt to expose my itchy wrists. The room was suddenly too full, too warm.

Jess was watching me, following my fidgeting. When I realized he could see the scars on my arms, which were usually covered with sleeves or thick bracelets, my heart jumped. Mags had never cared enough to notice those, but Jess was looking right at them. I paled and quickly rolled the sleeves back down.

Trying to deflect the attention, I said, “Well, I’m back now, aren’t I? The world didn’t end, praise Jesus. Y‘all flying out?”

Mags huffed, arms folded, looking more put-out the longer I avoided tumbling into another yelling match with him.

Fanart Tucker Lynn K SOTLCWhat he doesn’t realize is Jess, one of his bandmates, has been watching him closely. He knows he is hurting, he just doesn’t know why. It’s hard for him to get too close seeing as he, too, is keeping a closely guarded secret.
Jess comes clean with Tucker and shows him he is someone he can trust and count on. Tucker finally sees that everything he has always wanted has been right in front of him the whole time.

“You’re kind of gorgeous without the beard,” I told him self-consciously. “I wasn’t prepared for that.”
I’d been letting Mags outshine him. Funny how the glare of idolizing could blind you to what was right in front of you, even better than the dream.

He took hold of my hand and brought it to his lips. They brushed my knuckles for just a moment while he held my gaze with his blue-and-green-colored eyes. Then he uncurled my fingers and kissed my palm. It felt like he was seducing me, and it kept stirring the butterflies in my stomach.

But, just as they are beginning to make headway with their relationship, Tucker falls victim once again, and this time it may be more than he can handle.

Be prepared to be gutted through parts of this story. Lynn has written a very heartbreaking, hard to read, at times, story. But with the bad also comes the good, and there is a lot of good in this story. As Tucker tells us about his years of pain and anguish, your own heart will break for him. One thing I kept thinking was how strong and brave Tucker was. I don’t think he even knew the strength he carries within himself.

When Jess comes forth ready to share his own pain with Tucker, you can’t help but smile for these two finally seeing each other as they should. They are a perfect match and feed off each other’s personality. Finally, Tucker can begin to believe in love and have those same feelings reciprocated.

The author touches on many sticky subjects exposing the fanart lynn kelling SOTLC Jessnasty parts of life. The dialogue flows effortlessly showing the creativity and cleverness that she possesses. Even though this is fiction Lynn relays the story in a way that will consume your thoughts making you wonder how many in real life have succumbed to this type of predator.
Tucker and Jess are so much stronger together and I believe they can handle whatever type of situation that comes their way.

Each facet of Tucker’s journey will show how brave this young man really is. Jess is the perfect companion for Tucker and together they can heal the torments of the past. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves when the good guys win. When you are constantly beat down but rise above it all. And, most of all, when love between two men is so infectious that you want to be a part of their joy.
