Blurb: Jesse is trying to get back home. The car he took from his dangerous ex-boyfriend, however, is not going to make it. When he becomes stranded with very little money, he has no choice but to look for the nearest garage and hope for the best. What he finds is a hunky mechanic with a past, one that just might be useful in freeing Jesse once and for all from his exploitive ex-lover.

Patrick has his own garage and lives the quiet life. He offers to help a young man in peril when his fancy car stalls outside of town. He suspects that he probably won’t ever get paid for his work, but something compels him to help Jesse anyway. What Patrick soon discovers is that he may have more in common with Jesse than he originally believed. And both men have no idea where some grease and a wrench will take them…

Review: This story is part of the Grease Monkey Inc. AmberPax Package. However, it does not come in paperback. This is a story I can get behind. I do wish that it were longer and way more descriptive. It was really cute and made me just smile throughout the whole story.

Jesse had thought that he had fallen in love with his last boyfriend. However, the boyfriend had turned out to be a pimp and he was his first whore. It made me realize what some young men go through when they leave home and don’t really have a way to live. However, he had finally given up and decided to leave. So what does he do, he steals his ex-boyfriends BMW and takes off. Knowing that if he is found more than likely Jonathan will kill him. It breaks down in this really small town that didn’t have a motel. Finding a garage, he begs Patrick to fix his car.

Patrick notices that Jesse needs help, but he isn’t sure what he is running from. He also knows that ten to one he won’t be getting paid for fixing the car. He lets Jesse know that he won’t take sex as payment, that it had to be given with want. He lets Jesse stay with him while they wait for the part but once he realizes what has Jesse running he wants to help him even more. Then they came across a big surprise and Patrick has a way to get Jesse out of the danger permanently. He just wishes that Jesse would choose to stay with Patrick. Patrick had fallen in love.

This is a really cute story that I can see reading more than once. It made me smile most of the time. However, there were bits of the story that had me crying. It makes me sad what some young men have to go through to survive. I would definitely be recommending this story to anyone who wants a short story to read when they need a pick me up. You won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t and I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Blurb: Roque “Ro” Celdran dreams of a better life, far away from the hand-to-mouth existence of his migrant worker family. He moves to San Francisco to study Landscape Design but finds himself short of cash. Tony, Ro’s identical twin, comes up with a plan to help Ro make ends meet. The BDSM club Tony frequents is looking for gay men to act as submissives to the Dommes-in-training. Ro reluctantly takes the job and falls headfirst into a world he neither understands nor desires.

Lance Roberts is the new doctor at the dental practice started by Scott Gregory and Robin Kennedy. On the surface, he seems to have it all: the Mensa IQ, blond and blue-eyed good looks, and the determination to make it in his competitive field. Underneath lies a frustrated Dom in search of the perfect sub who can handle his obsessive behavior and debilitating need for control.

When Ro ends up in Lance’s dental chair, the last thing either one expects is a physical and mental connection. Ro’s attraction to “White Bread” never pans out, and Lance’s weakness for Latinos always leads to a dead-end. Could this time be different? What happens between the two alphas leads to a lot of soul-searching and some surprising conclusions.

Review: Well this was a very interesting book in so many ways. First of all, we have a dentist for a main character and I have to praise the research behind this part of the story. Everything regarding anything dental was described wonderfully, and the way, venues, materials a dentist uses were so real it made me cringe. Fact is I have a sort of phobia toward this profession and damn it if I didn’t feel at times as if I was there, in that clinic facing that Doc. *shudders* But it gave this entire read a very realistic side, made me feel as if I’m right in there, in the heart of this story, inside this very setting. It was a great feeling to be able to immerse myself in such a way in this story.

The other equally interesting things here are the twins. Being a person who has been and still am surrounded by twins, identical and not, my entire life I can’t help but notice how close to the psyche and behavior of twins the author got. At times I felt as if I was reading about my ex-partner and his brother, it was so close to them. Yes, there are twins who get along extremely well even as they are nothing like the other in personality, and then there are those twins who not only are miles in character away from each other, but there is this user/abuser thing going in on between them.

This story has the second part of twins; Ro always the good guy, the one who tries to make a life by working hard toward his goals and his twin is the taking-the-easy-road kind of guy, always irresponsible, always wanting to get somewhere easily and fast. When he crashes and burns though it is Ro cleaning up the mess. This time things got too far and Ro might not only be unable to help his twin, but he is in danger of losing the one thing he thought he’d never get in his life.

The romantic part of the book on the other hand is actually not only sweet, it is intriguing and really worth reading. Lance, the Doc, is a challenging character. He is supposed to be a Dom, but damn if he didn’t give submissive vibes from the beginning of this story. It had me wondering about him the entire time I was reading and when it got to the point where some elements were revealed, well everything made sense then and the way the story turned satisfied me to no end. I loved the dynamic between Lance and Ro. I loved how they handled their relationship. I loved how the book ended with the guys finally having found their place and their own unique style, without suffocating with all those labels and expectations. Not your typical BDSM read, not your typical D/s relationship, and that was perhaps what makes this even more worth reading.

I enjoyed it very much, even as Ro made me want to slap him at times with his holding up the deception, and if you like, a nice romantic story with a kinky bit in it, then this is one I definitely recommend.

Review: Okay, I had tremendous fun and laughed my head off with this little book. It seriously made me weep with the dialogue and Jonah’s lines. The best part of it was the “eeee” screeching and the “aaaeeiiii” that had me almost to my knees in surrender. I’m taking this book to be a bit in the comedy side, because frankly there is no other way to read it. It was hilarious as hell and even when in the most erotic scene that demanded all my attention and seriousness I couldn’t stop laughing. Jonah was simply irresistible when it came to that.

So, setting: medieval…? Hmmm… It is the year 8 thousand plus somewhere, in an alternate world where there are gods and demons and gods rule the above world while demons rule the Underworld. The mortal’s god is kind of like the Christian one. I mean, who has Knights/soldiers and demands them to be chaste? The hell is that all about? No touching, no getting off and of course no intercourse…especially any kinky stuff. That is punishable with death.

The Underworld though, King Caine’s domain. Oh Hell, I wanna go offer myself there for eternity. Perverse, cruel, sublime. King Caine is freaking awesome. I want to worship him forever awesome, and if you take a look at that exquisite cover, he is drool-worthy. His Councillor Randell follows right after him in hotness level and dear Lord they have such depraved longings. Yes, I’m still grinning from ear to ear. Cheshire cat has nothing on me.

The story is simple enough. The above world is plagued with evil sky-rocks that turn men into animals (not literally you wicked minds) and the King has no other way to save his people but to ask for the help of the demon King. In return King Caine may ask whatever he wants, no matter how cruel it may be. Deal made and Caine leads his soldiers to remove the wicked rock. On his way though he sets his eyes upon this gorgeous young soldier, who seems to be the only one not afraid or disgusted by him. Yup, Caine’s got his sacrifice all right.

I liked the plot, I liked the way the story spun and made all parties wait and get frustrated. I even liked the fact that cruel demonic all-feared Caine was so gentle (not literally again) and sweet with Jonah, the Knight. I liked how Randell seemed to be the exact opposite of Caine. I loved the ménage. Oh yeah, I definitely loved that. What weirded me out a bit and was somehow a turn off was Jonah’s immediate compliance. He not only surrendered to two fearsome demons with, let me tell you, huge, massive, gargantuan appendages, but he went from chaste knight to whorish slut in the blink of an eye. What was up with that? I mean some sort of… ah I don’t know, uhm pain? Suffering? Something was call for there, just not that…

Okay, perhaps I’m being weird, after all Jonah said so himself that he didn’t like the war and fighting in the above world, but most of all he didn’t like to be made feel as if he was evil for merely thinking kinky stuff. So he was very relieved to be claimed by Caine. But it was a bit too easy, and oh my freaking God how hilarious his lines. I can’t stop thinking of it. He was made to speak about how it felt to be penetrated and all that, so you can imagine how that went. Needless to say that I pictured and heard it all in my head in Japanese language and tone of voice. Just imagine it for a moment: “eeee, itai, itai, yada, yamero kudasai”. No, I’m not a nerd… I think.

So anyway, funny book, funny story. The erotic blended with hilarity and the story was laden with that weird kind of tender, the tender cruel masters give. It was a bit romantic, a bit sweet even at points. I wished it was darker and a bit more blood and gore – it had demons of course I wanted blood – but overall I had a splendid time reading it. If that’s what you looking for, I suggest you give it a try.

Disclaimer: I find Yaoi a blend of erotica and comedy, so my view of it might be quite different from that of hardcore Yaoi readers.

Review: This is the first book in this wonderful series. I can guarantee that once you pick up this book you will not be able to put it down. You will get caught up with the first paragraph and it will keep your attention all the way to the end. That is what it did for me. It is put together perfectly. I love the way it can make you cry at the pain Evan must have went through when his husband had been killed in a car accident two years ago and when he is talked about you can tell how he feels. However Evan knew when the detective that walked in the door, that he might have found away to move forward. Someone had shot at him and obviously wanted him dead, but he was not as good a shooter.

When Ian first walks into the building to see the victim, he realized that he wanted this man. He wanted this man more than anything in this world. However, he had a job to do. He had to protect Evan, whether Evan thought he needed protected of not. Now all he had to do is convince his man that he was getting protection whether he wanted it or not. I laughed my ass off at Evan’s expression every time they argue about it.

What makes it even better is the fact that Ian’s partner cannot stand Brooks who happens to be partnered professionally with Evan’s brother Gio. Now those two take protection to the ultimate high spot. Also the fact that Brooks and Hunter are always going at it. Then there is Paul who is very pushy however, he might surprise even Evan in the end. I love their attitudes and their quirky ways.

This is a perfect start to a new series. It is amazing and you will absolutely love it. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good story with a tender heartbreak, hot and sexy men, a sexy novelist, two hot and sexy detectives and two hot and quirky military men, danger and lots of excitement. I would recommend picking this one up and start reading you won’t be disappointed.

Blurb: Mark Cooper is angry, homesick, and about to take his stepdad’s dubious advice and rush Prescott College’s biggest party fraternity, Alpha Delta Phi. Greek life is as foreign to Aussie transplant Mark as Pennsylvania’s snowstorms and bear sightings. So, when the fraternity extends Mark a bid, Mark vows to get himself kicked out by the end of pledge period. But then he’s drawn into Alpha Delt’s feud with a neighboring fraternity.

Studious Deacon Holt is disappointed to learn Mark’s pledging Alpha Delt, his fraternity Phi Sigma Kappa’s sworn enemy. Mark is too beautiful for Deacon to pass up an invitation for sex, but beyond sex, Deacon’s not sure. He wants a relationship, but a difficult family situation prevents him from pursuing anything beyond his studies.

Mark and Deacon’s affair heats up as the war between their fraternities escalates. They explore kinks they didn’t know they had while keeping their liaison a secret from their brothers. But what Romeo and Juliet didn’t teach these star-crossed lovers is how to move beyond sex and into a place where they share more than a bed. That’s something they’ll have to figure out on their own—if the friction between their houses, and between Mark and America, doesn’t tear them apart.

Review: This book is a gem. That’s the most proper word to describe it. While the theme is the old college kids and frat-boys rivalry, the execution of this book is brilliant.

First of all, the description and portrayal of this young man, Mark, who has come from another country, hell another continent the other side of the planet, to live in America is plain brilliant. His enormous change in his life, his education, his knowledge and lifestyle are displayed with great mastery. His anger toward everything and his sense of loss that he so hard tries to hide, how much he tries for the sake of his family and on for his very few friends, his sweetness under all that bravado, everything about Mark is a lure. He literally is enchanting and requires no effort from you to like him and love him even. His antics as he tries to do what he’s asked – practically join a frat house for the sake of his stepfather and make an effort to be nice and make friends – trying to assimilate to this new life, trying to understand his peers yet not wanting to settle and change for no one… I loved him.

I loved how scared he was, how much people and love mattered to him when all he tried to do was hide it under the mask of the uncaring and daredevil. It’s been a long time since I felt for a character that he’s too close to being real and Mark managed to give me that feeling.

Then, there’s Deacon – Deke – and his amazing, supportive character. Deke is fantastic in his own way and his relationship with Mark was a treat for me to read. Their “hook up gone repeatedly wrong” was brilliant, witnessing this relationship bloom and evolve was the best part of the book. There are no words to describe the mastery of the writing for this couple, their wonderful kinks that were revealed through natural exploration and chance, making me at least love the intimate scenes beyond description.

The trap of going too far and being a stereotypical cliché in the “BDSM” genre was so brilliantly avoided and at the same time provided a beautiful, gorgeous eroticism to this book that left me speechless. Everything I read was an adventure that mixed the social, sensual, and emotional parts of this novel with a subtlety worth any praise.

I loved it – it seems I can’t say that enough – it was truly a very enjoyable book, full with humor and a playfulness that had you with a smile on your face almost non-stop. If that’s what you’re looking for then yes I totally recommend this book. Definitely “frat-boys” written right for me.

Review: This was an amazing story. I love the twist and turns that it gives you especially when it includes the supernatural. John and Robert have amazing gifts at telling stories. I love how this one has voodoo in it. Adam had at first intended to go to college and then figure things out from there. But when he had come out to his family, his father basically kicked him out and stopped supporting his college life. So he had dropped out and took a job at a convenience store to make ends meet. It was not so bad all things considering he had been hurt by his father.

While working there Adam had met and fallen in love with a married cop. Steven had told him that he was getting a divorce but would not come out for fear of losing his children. And for a while that was ok, but Adam was slowly getting tired of it. So he had decided to try a dating site for gays. But the one time he hooks up he gets robbed. He didn’t know what to do. He turned to his cop lover but Stephen was not as helpful as he wanted. However, Brian wanted to help him.

When Adam met Brian he got a weird feeling from the man and decided to cut his loses. However, what he didn’t know was Brian was heading into voodoo. He was into the Guede Baron Samedi, a very powerful Voodoo god and his disciples are pure evil. The thing was Adam was still very much in love with Stephen. Now here he had a man who he loved with all of his heart, but wasn’t so sure about. A man that was not only crazy, but also deadly, a ghost who was insane and a tattoo that just wouldn’t go away. He was lost as hell. To fix it he had to fix what was going wrong in his life including apologizing to people he had wronged. He must have done something wrong in his life, because first his lover wouldn’t come out, then hooks up with a one-night stand and gets robbed, has his stolen stuff returned by another date, attacked by crazy man, shot at by an ex-coworker, haunted by a ghost.

I definitely love it when John and Robert get together and write. I love the characters that they give you and the world they create. It caught my attention from the very start and kept it all the way to the end. It gives you the best of multiple worlds. Excitement, adventure, danger, two hot and sexy men, the paranormal worlds and mixed up minds.

Review: This story is part of the Grease Monkey Inc. AmberPax Package. However, it does not come in paperback. This was heart-breaking story so tender and so full of pain and hope.

Mick had fallen in love with cars at a young age, but his first one that he fell in love with was a black 1969 Camaro Z28. He had taken its picture several years back, but for almost close to five years he hadn’t seen it. He had decided that he wanted to fix them and restore them to their natural state. Then one day out of the blue he hears this sound of an engine that needed work on. And there sat the car he dreamed about and the driver he wanted to get to know.

Logan had a really hard life since his parents had been killed in a train and auto accident. He had been injured and had been trying to cope. The problem was he had been hanging with friends when the FBI raided the place. Because he had his meds in his pocket, they arrested him for attempting to sell them. Serving time in prison, he had been released with an ankle monitor. Now he just wanted to survive. However, he noticed Mick and wanted to see where it would go, but he was terrified of getting hurt. He just didn’t know where to go with it.

You can’t help but fall in love with Mick and Logan. They both have so much going for them, even when Logan doesn’t realize it. The way Logan reacts makes Mick think that he just doesn’t want to talk about it. However, it comes to him that he needs to separate things so that he is not overwhelmed. Mick can see the pain in Logan’s eyes and just wants to love him. To show him that he is wanted and loved.

I am amazed at Logan’s abilities to try to overcome all of his experiences and pain. Most people would have given up but he kept going. I really liked this story and definitely will be checking out the other books that this author offers. I would definitely be recommending this story. It is a sweet little story that shows you that there are others out there who do go through what Logan went through.

Blurb: Graham and his roping partner Jackson have ruled the rodeo scene for ten years running, but lately, Graham’s heart isn’t in the game. He’s tired of the bruises, the cowboy mentality, and the animal rights activists who picket every event. And then there’s Jackson.

Graham and Jackson have been friends since they were boys. But ever since their drunken sexual encounter the year before, things have been awkward. Graham’s accepted that he might be gay, but no matter how attracted he is to other men, he always panics and runs when the clothes start to come off.

Then Graham has a run-in with one of the rodeo protesters, and everything changes. Kaz is young, idealistic, and sexy as hell. And Kaz has an idea for getting Graham past his nerves and into bed.

All they need is a bit of rope.

Review: Graham and Jackson have been friends since childhood, though for Graham it has been much more than just friendship. They both ride the rodeo circuit and have been rodeo partners for years. One night at regionals both men were drinking heavily, they were drunk, lonely and horny and both acted on a mutual attraction. Ever since that night a year ago their relationship has been strained.

Graham is sure he is gay but every-time the action gets past kissing he panics and runs. Until one night he has a run in with one of the animal rights protestors. Kaz is young, sexy and outspoken. Kaz and Graham have a personal run in and Graham finds himself intrigued by young Kaz.

I have to say after reading the excerpt at the beginning of the book I was definitely Roped.*giggles at the pun* I can’t really say much more than I have above without spoilers. The story is character driven and I have to say I loved both Kaz and Graham.

The story is a good case of opposites attract. Two men couldn’t be much different than these two. I am a big fan of both L.A Witt and Marie Sexton. I loved how they showed the attraction immediately upon meeting with short sentences that just seem to pop. As they were describing Kaz from Graham’s view in a confrontation at a Rodeo where Kaz is protesting, after the short effective description; Graham thought…And cute. Those two words were powerful. They seemed to set the stage. It was a cue that for more to come. And boy was there more to come!

As I said, the excerpt in the beginning of the book roped me in, the powerful writing kept me tied to the story.  I wasn’t able to stop once I started and the ending left me wanting more! For those of you who like to know ahead of time, I will say it was a happy for now ending. It’s not a cliff hanger; the story was beautifully resolved in a way that for me hinted that there could be much more to come. Yes, I am seriously hoping this is the beginning of a series, because I want more on Kaz and Graham and Jackson too.

For those of you wondering about the mild BDSM, it is mild, but let me tell you it’s hot and sexy. If you like a story with some hot sex, a little rope play but no real D’s or spanking, a sweet story that is also hot but not overly descriptive, A story with some twists and turns, Vegans, Animal rights Activists, and of course Cowboys, this is for you.

I highly recommend this for those of you that have been wanting to try a Male/Male romance, or like a sweet MM romance and wanted to sample a bit of the BDSM genre. This story is a good starter!

Devon McCormack - Clipped _Cover

Excerpt

Dedrus scanned Kinzer’s body, admiring his massive biceps, his brown eyes, and his black waves of hair. Even with the wounds and tears that still tainted his face, he was beautiful. Dedrus wanted to press him back against the cushion, rip off his clothes, and provide him with the ease he deserved. But no! He was just wanting it for himself, and he was pretending that it was to serve Kinzer’s pain.

“I loved him so much.” The words cracked through Kinzer’s lips. His cheeks and forehead shivered. Tears filled his eyes. “I know we had so much time, but it wasn’t enough.”

The sting in Dedrus’s chest intensified. His cheeks flashed red as anger washed over him—anger that he loathed because it made him feel like a terrible, selfish creature.

He set his hand on Kinzer’s back, his palm stroking softly across the blue fabric of his polo. He wanted to say, “You’ll find love again.” He couldn’t, because he knew he’d really be saying, “Please find love in me.” He thought of saying, “Everything will be alright.” No. He couldn’t make that kind of promise. “It’ll take time,” felt appropriate, and yet, as an immortal, Dedrus never perceived time as a generous gift as much as a twisted, agonizing punishment.

“I wish I could think of something right to say about this,” Dedrus said, “but I can’t. I know how much you loved him, and I know how much he loved you, and I can’t imagine how hard this is going to be for you. But I’m here. As your friend. I don’t know if that means much, but I know the feeling of having something so perfect and wonderful torn from you.”

Kinzer’s gaze met his. His eyes were sad.

Does he know what I’m talking about?

“Tell me you’ve found someone,” Kinzer said.

“Of course,” he lied. “I’m just being overdramatic.”

“I figured as much. Considering where you work, I’m sure you get a lot of offers.”

It was true, but not the way Kinzer was suggesting. There were nights when Treycore dragged some pathetic mortal back to ease Dedrus’s pain. Those nights were the loneliest. Though he could bring himself to climax, it was an empty relief that just stirred the cruel memories of those moments filled with so much more.

Dedrus hugged him again. “Let’s get to bed,” he said. “You need some sleep.”

Kinzer nodded.

“We have plenty to sort through tomorrow. You can have my room. I’ll just sleep here.”

Dedrus released him.

Kinzer picked the sword up off his lap and stood. He reached his hand out. “Come on. It won’t be the first time we’ve shared a bed.”

The upward curl of his lip let Dedrus know that Kinzer was more than interested.

Dedrus’s dick swelled. “I don’t think I can.” He wanted Kinzer so bad, and if he put himself in that position, he was sure that he wouldn’t be able to resist making a move—especially if Kinzer initiated something.

“I’d rather not disrespect you like that,” Dedrus said.

Kinzer’s hand fell, bouncing against his jeans. His head drooped.

“Then I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Dedrus smiled. “‘Night, Kinzer.”

Kinzer knelt, offering a light peck on Dedrus’s lips.

Don’t tease me with a taste!

“Up the stairs, first room on the right.”

Kinzer walked up the stairs, headed down the hall, and slipped into Dedrus’s bedroom.

Dedrus had hoped that Kinzer’s exit would provide some relief.

It didn’t.

He ached for him. His thoughts dwelled on Kinzer’s lips tickling his nipples, his gaze appreciating his body, his tongue delighting in his body’s grooves. He wanted to run upstairs and throw his arms around him, to hold him for the night, and tell him that no matter what happened he’d be there for him. He wanted more than that, but he wouldn’t press his friend. He wouldn’t dare cross that line…even if Kinzer insisted.

Spreading his limbs across the couch, he rested his head on a lace pillow at the end and rolled so that he was facing the cushions.

He closed his eyes.

A few moments passed before something pressed against his ass.

He flipped over and hopped to his feet, ready for a fight.

Kinzer stood before him, holding his hands out, as if showing a cop that he was unarmed. “Whoa, cowboy. Chill the fuck out.”

“Sorry.” Every hair on Dedrus’s immortal body stood on end. “You freaked the shit out of me. Did you need something? Another cover? Pillows?”

Kinzer wiggled his thumb behind the waistband in Dedrus’s khakis.

“Yeah. I need something.” He pulled their pelvises together.

His hot breath rushed across Dedrus’s lips, settling in the bristles across his cheeks. The warmth combined with a rush of blood that surged to his face and made him feel like his cheeks were about to catch on fire.

Kinzer pressed his lips against Dedrus’s.

Amidst the creases in Kinzer’s lips, Dedrus felt the smooth, subtle dip where Kinzer’s cut was healing.

He trailed his palm over the rough fabric of Kinzer’s polo. As he reached the smooth flesh of his neck, curly black hairs pricked his fingertips.

Kinzer opened his mouth wide. Dedrus eagerly reciprocated, tilting his head and allowing their lips to seal together. A swirling sensation gathered at the back of his spine and rushed to the crown of his skull.

Guilt nagged at his thoughts. He couldn’t do this. Kinzer didn’t really want him. He was just vulnerable and ached for a physical distraction from his grief. It would be wrong to take advantage while he was still recovering from Janka’s death.

Kinzer’s tongue flicked his.

He wanted Kinzer so bad, but not like that. Pressing his hand against the dip between the bulbous, jagged pecs before him, he broke their sealed kiss.

“What?” Kinzer rested his hands on either of Dedrus’s hips.

“This wouldn’t be right. I don’t want to disrespect you.”

“I know. But I want you to.”

Kinzer wrapped both arms around Dedrus. Spinning them around, he pushed Dedrus back against a painting that hung from the wall.

Kinzer’s eyes glistened with that gleam—the one that was so familiar to Dedrus.

Dedrus couldn’t control himself. His lips returned to their passionate embrace. His fingers found their way under Kinzer’s shirt, feeling about fervently, savoring the dips in his torso.

Review: Kinzer awakes to find himself chained in the mortal world, his wings removed and his lover dead and his only hope is to escape and warn Satan’s allies that a mole has leaked their location to The Raze. Kid lived on the street after running away from an abusive home life and then was taken off the streets and plunged into the world of sex trafficking, the only thing he dreams of now is freedom. The two are thrown together as they make an escape and Kid is thrown into a war between God and Satan.

This is a very dark erotic story that throws good and evil on its head. God wants to destroy the world, a world he created for his lover Satan, because Satan left him and now it is up to Satan and his followers to stop the destruction of humanity. The Raze is a group of Fallen angels who are trying to get back into God’s good graces and to do that they are planning the destruction of humanity. Kinzer is one of the Fallen sent in to spy on the Raze for Satan, but when he and his lover are discovered Kinzer has to turn to the angel who once broke his heart.

This is a great storyline that has good and evil, danger and escapes, blood and violence and pain filled sex, and terrible betrayal. It is darkly erotic and weaves a tale that is dark from the onset. We meet many characters in this story, some good, some evil and some innocent but all of them know pain in one form or the other whether it is physical pain or emotional pain. This isn’t the story to read if you want happy ever afters or a sweet romance, it’s the story to read when you want dark and dangerous, pain and pleasure jumbled together so it teases the dark reaches of your soul.

Following along after Kinzer or Kid we are plunged into a world where they both have tortured souls, the story pulls around both of them leading you into darker territory and you can’t see any happiness on the horizon. This is a really good storyline that is far from finished, there is nothing that has been resolved except Kinzer discovers the truth of his capture and we are plunged further into the depths of evil that The Raze flourish in.

If you are looking for a blossoming relationship then there are hints of one but it is far from pretty. There was a slight hope of a rekindling romance that started in punishment and violence but the muses deemed it too easy and leave us feeling sore, now there is a glimmer of vengeance on the horizon but stopping The Raze isn’t going to be easy. Now while I did like this story and thought the storyline was good I really did find all the sex to be a bit too violent for my taste, and I mean all the sex, there isn’t one touch that doesn’t lead to pain being mixed in and while I do like a bit of pain tinged sex there was just a bit too much for me to truly enjoy.

I recommend this to those who love dark sex, dark erotica, dark fantasy and violence, betrayal and hopes dashed, a story that pulls you in even as you want to hit the breaks for a bit and a great storyline that is far from over.

Blurb: On the Road: Life’s blessings can come in the darkest moments.
Enjoying a last hoo-rah before another tough year of college begins, Kai Sudderson and his friends vacation in Kansas. He takes advantage of the secluded pond system behind his rented cabin to go swimming…in his platypus form. Living with his aunt and uncle, Kai had never met anyone else with the ability to turn into an animal. That is, until he gets himself snared in a beaver trap and a penguin shifter rescues him. Unable to pass up the opportunity for not only knowledge but also medical treatment, Kai accompanies his new friend home. There, he meets Dorian Yaris, who—despite being so much older and having such a serious disposition—calls to Kai like no other. When Dorian explains about mates, will Kai consider the bonding thing with someone so obviously different or will he deny everything and return to his former life?

Review: This is book seventeen in the Kontra Menagerie series and they should be read in order. Charlie always gives me an amazing world to lose myself into. She gives you characters that you will fall in love with and want to cheer on. Although this particular book didn’t really make me jump up for joy, it still gave me a great read.

Kai had been raised by his aunt and uncle most of his life. He knew he was a platypus but didn’t know of any other shifters. So when he got his tail stuck in a trap he was surprised to be rescued by shifters. Taken back to their pride and pack lands he comes across Dorian. Dorian is a shifter but not like his. He also claims to be his mate. Never knowing that much about what he was he let Dorian explain some of it to him, especially the mate part. He was a bit scared but he knew that he wanted this alpha.

Dorian was close to two hundred and fifty years old and had always wanted his mate. He also knew that he had a long way to prove things to Kai. He knew things would not go perfect but he knew that he could love his mate with all of his heart. You can tell that their sex lives are always going to be heated up. It is funny that they can watch someone have sex, but they are very jealous when another sees them naked. I love how they connect with each other.

I would recommend this series to anyone who loves different types of shape-shifters. This one gives you a platypus and a California condor. Two sexy men, lots of hot sex, and a lot of action comes real handy for me. I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to end.

Blurb: Daniel and Brand’s relationship survived the first six months of murder attempts and discovering Daniel was a sleeping cat shifter. They should have lived happy every after. The fates had other shocks and challenges in store for them with death threats, pressure for Brand to take the alpha position, a war brewing with Daniel caught in the middle, and Daniel’s insecurities. Though Brand claims he doesn’t want the alpha position, Daniel’s certain his mate being a cat shifter is the real reason.

While the tempest grows around them, more and more of the wolves make demands on Brand for help, and another secret from Brand reveals itself, will their struggle to keep their love the most important thing to them be enough to keep them together for the happy ever after they deserve?

Review: This is book two in this series and they should be read in order. Not only would it give you an insight into each character and won’t get you lost when you read them, it will give you a thrill. L. L. Brooks has an amazing gift at telling you a story that you will fall in love with but will give you a world to lose yourself into when you are seeking a place to be in. Daniel and Brand are such different types of men that you can’t help but want to help cheer them on in their future lives.

Daniel had met Brand when he was posing as a rent boy trying to get the bad guys. Now he is mated to the big wolf shifter and has a little one to take care of. They had survived six months of murder attempts even finding out that Daniel was a mountain lion shifter. Talk about a shock to both of them. Daniel has lots of insecurities in his relationship and his life that he is trying to overcome. He is also in the middle of a war that is pressing Brand into becoming an alpha. He loves Brand more than life and he knows in his heart that Brand loves him. There are many dangers coming at them each day, and lots of secrets that still need to be found out. With many wolves coming for the for help they need to combine their efforts to help the other. I love how Brand wants Daniel’s help in things and can understand Daniel’s fears. What I don’t understand is how Daniel cannot want to connect with his cat.

There is so much love between them that it just makes your heart swell up. I have always loved paranormals, especially when it comes in a romance story. It makes it even better when you have two very hot and sexy men with such different personalities that should drive one insane but seems to bring them together in such a strength that you will love. This book gives you all that plus dangers, excitement, and even adventure.

It shows you how two different men can find love so deep that it will leave you breathless. I would recommend reading this book. It will give you an experience that you will love. It has twists that will surprise you and excite you. I cannot wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Review: B. A. Tortuga is one hell of an author. She gives you characters with such personality and situations that you can’t put the book down once you start reading it. This is an amazing story with such a heart breaking twist to it.

Sage had been just a teen when he had started his relationship with Angel. Times had been really hard with the two of them. They had been into many things including drugs. However when Sage learned that Angel had been cheating on him, he had decided to leave it all behind. Angel had taken the keys and since he had no way to go home, Sage had just slept in the truck. However, he had been awaken by an explosion. An explosion that had killed Angel.

Sage had lost his boyfriend to the explosion, and because of the fact that it was a drug lab explosion he had lost eight years of his life. They had sentenced him to hard time in a maximum-security prison. And everyone knows what happens in prison, especially for someone who is so young and little. He had been released and had decided never to go back home to the pain. However when his mom called he left to help his family. He had expected the hate that he felt from many of the residence. Including the sheriff and other family members of Angel’s. What he had not expected was for one of the police officers who was not only Angel’s cousin but also an old classmate, to actually help him.

Win knew that Sage had been given the raw in of the deal. He knew that his cousin Angel had not been good for anyone. He saw something in Sage, but he just wasn’t too sure at first what to think. However, he felt a strong connection with him, and knew that he would go against all of his family to be with this man. Now if he could get Sage to realize he wasn’t going to leave him. He knew Sage felt a lot of guilt for it all and that Sage felt that he was never going to get ahead in life. Sage had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. He also knew that there were so many obstacles in their way, but he also knew that this man was worth it all.

To spend eight years in a prison for something you are not truly guilty of is something that I would never understand. Yes, he had been into drugs, he was young and stupid. However, he had been outside sleeping in the truck when the home exploded. He had been dealt a bad hand but he was strong and surviving. He would do anything to help his family even come home to a lot of hate in the small town. This story gives you all of the drama, excitement, danger and pain that just makes a story come together.

It gives you a loving police officer who overlooks everything about a sex ex-con. He shows Sage that there is love still out there for him. That he deserves the love he receives not only from his family but also from him. When you read this story, you will fall in love with these guys. They have the desires to love each other, the abilities to overcome all their pain and turn them into gifts of strength. They have many people fighting against them but they have many who want to help.

I would recommend reading this book, once you start you won’t be able to stop. I picked it up and thought to myself lord it is over two hundred pages, it will take me forever to read it. However once I started, I could not put it down. It will catch your attention from the first paragraph and will keep it to the very end.

Andrew Wofford’s last undercover assignment nearly cost him his sanity. Now he has another chance of catching the drug runner who killed one of his informants and then escaped, but gruesome flashbacks threaten his ability to function in the field.

Andy’s latest investigation sends him to Ken’s ranch where he poses as a ranch hand. Ken is a prime suspect, but Andy refuses to believe Ken is guilty, in part because Andy is falling for him. Ken knows Andy isn’t who he seems, but he can’t bring himself to push the man away. When Ken hears rumors that someone is using his land to move drugs out of the city, he worries that it’s Andy. Neither man can trust the other even though that’s exactly what their hearts tell them to do.

Susan Mac Nicol - Double_Alchemy

Promoting Yourself by Susan Mac Nicol

I can hear a lot of you groan as you read this. Yes, it probably is the hardest bit of the job. But I thought I’d share with you a few tips, seeing as how as well as doing this for my own books I’m also trying to do this for a living and help authors in their promotional activity. If you like the idea of someone perhaps helping you, check out my website – www.ravencrestagency.com. It’s a work in progress.

Basically you need to give up breathing, eating, going to the toilet and simply sit in front of a laptop screen until you die. Heh Heh. Because it’s addictive, it’s necessary and bears fruit if you do it right. Waits for the sigh of despair…….Honestly, I am kind of joking above, but rest assured, it takes a huge amount of effort to build these author platforms, street teams, and an author’s visibility. I’m not going to go into much detail here, just mention some areas I use to keep in touch with fellow writers and readers and bloggers.

Facebook – of course, whether it’s personal profile or an author page, we probably all have something.

Twitter – a great way to get a quick, intense spurt of something out to your followers.

Google + – it’s growing but still underutilised

Linked In – I find this more useful for networking as opposed to promoting books

Paper Li – an online newspaper which is very suitable for Twitter and earns you retweets

Goodreads- not my favourite medium but I check it now and then. Other authors will know why I say I don’t really like this forum much.

Pinterest – I just love this because it’s such a visual tool

Blogging – a really useful tool, so you can participate in blog hops, host fellow authors and gain exposure.

Your own website – always useful to have so you can cater to your audience

BookShout – an alternative to other social book sites and growing (http://bookshout.com/users/46573#_=_)

About.me – I notice more and people using this as a medium to keep in touch (http://about.me/home/)

VK – this is Europe’s answer to Facebook, and includes a lot of people from the Baltic countries, Russia etc. (https://vk.com/susanmacnicol)

These are just a few ideas to build a web presence and try and corner every corner of the globe a little like Pinky and the Brain trying to take over the world. Not everything will work for you but at least give it a look and see what you think.

About Double Alchemy

Title: Double Alchemy
Author: Susan Mac Nicol
Publisher: Boroughs Publishing Group
Release Date: 25th March, 2014
Genre: M/M Paranormal Romance

Powerful yet tormented modern warlock Quinn Fairmont must initiate the silver-eyed Cade Mairston into the world of witchfinders, Withinners, and what can happen when two men fall truly, madly, deeply in love.

THE WORLD IN SHADOW

In modern London there lurks a warlock, Quinn Fairmont. Dangerous, powerful, tortured, sharing his body with the soul of an ancient Welsh sorcerer, Quinn is never alone—and never wholly himself. He fights against all those who would exploit his kind. He takes pleasure where he can find it.

In the forest of Hampstead Heath, Quinn’s hometown, Cade Mairston appears to him like a waking dream. Lithe, lean and silver-eyed, he evokes feelings in Quinn unlike any other: lust with true affection, immediate and shocking. Cade is clearly more than he seems. And yet, if a man of the world, Cade is innocent. He knows nothing of warlocks, witchfinders or Withinners. He knows nothing of what he is, what he might be, or what he might feel. For him, the story is just beginning. Magyck, peril and passion await.

Review:  I’ve read all but I think one of Susan Mac Nichol’s books and loved them all. Double Alchemy was very different being a paranormal. I wasn’t disappointed.  This story still deals with broken men, as lots of angst and is very emotional with a touch of humour.

Quinn is a Warlock and owner of a prestigious business. He also has many secrets. At a charity function, he meets Cade an anthropologist. The pull between them is irresistible. They have wild sex and seem to bond further.

Cade finds out from Quinn that the pull between them was more than just physical sex and that Quinn is a warlock and Cade has Fey in him.

They seem to fall in love instantly, BUT, not being a big fan of instalove, it really works here.  I found this a very interesting refreshing take on Instalove or the soulmate bond thing. This ran much deeper and I can easily accept the connection.

This story is full of intriguing characters, both male and female, witches, warlocks, and more. There were also fine lines between good and evil, which I really liked a lot. Almost every character had a good side ad a bit of bad also. I loved this because it made all the characters so realistic, since none of us are perfect. Don’t get me wrong there were some pure evil characters as well. The balance of good and evil was fantastic and kept you on the edge of your seat.   The Warlocks had a Withinner, which is another type of warlock or Magical being. I would have liked a bit more information on this but, I loved this take on a familiar.  I will admit at first it got a bit confusing since Quinn spoke to his Withinner, or he spoke to Quinn was in italics. Also Quinn and Cade’s thoughts were in Italics and at times especially early in the story I was a bit confused as to who was speaking. As the story progresses I got used to the switches though.

The plot is very complicated and intricate. I loved how the story was far from ordinary. I also loved that it is set in today with paranormal world mixed in. There is an ongoing major plot with lots of subplots spinning off like little webs. I liked how the plots of this story were resolved, but there were just enough of those threads left hanging making you want more.  I absolutely love Tal (Quinn’s Withinner) and would love much more of him!

The story does resolve the major issues and has a happy for now ending with just enough hints that there is more to come. I for one cannot wait.

I recommend this: if you like paranormal stories that are different, world within a world, witches Warlocks, sprites, secrets, twists and turns, a touch of humour and some hot sexy ManLove.

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Noble started telling stories before she actually knew how to write, and her family was very happy when she learned to put words on a page. Those words turned into fan fiction that turned into a genuine love of M/M romance fiction. Being able to share her works with Dreamspinner is really a dream come true. She has a real love for all things sci-fi, futuristic, and supernatural and a bit of an unnatural interest in a super-volcano in Wyoming.

Elizabeth has three grown children and is now happily owned by an adorable mixed breed canine princess named Rosie, and two cats, Murphy and Yeti. She lives in her native northeast Ohio, the perfect place for gardening, winter and summer sports (go Tribe!). When she’s not writing she’s working as a veterinary nurse, so don’t be surprised to see her men with a pet or three who are a very big part of their lives.

Review: This story is part of a series and can be read in order but can also be read by itself. Jonas Forge is a homicide detective and a vampire, hunting for a serial killer who is killing young men. At one crime scene he stumbles across his soul mate but he is far from happy, his soul mate is clumsy and naive and Forge doesn’t want to give up his relationship with his constant companion Declan. Blair has helped Forge and his friends online for several years but suddenly a driving need has him travelling to Flint, meeting Forge is confusing as Blair really doesn’t have a clue about the paranormal world but he refuses to come between Forge and his real love. When the investigation into the murders comes close to home Forge must accept that Blair might just be the one for him.

This is a great story of a vampire who has to let go of the past in order to find happiness in the future, oh and also of a really cool murder investigation that has surprises for the guys from Bogg’s Castle. Blair is a sweet guy who was turned and left to fend for himself; everything he has learnt about vampires he found out from graphic novels so he has muddled along as best he can. Forge has been a vampire for over two hundred years and was very happy with his life, when Blair tumbles into his life he finds it hard to let go of what he has always had with Declan. Two vampires drawn together by a soul bond, trying to find a way to make it work when one refuses to accept change and the other refuses to make waves.

I found this story to be very interesting and really enjoyed the hunt for the killer; I really liked how the vampires were portrayed and how they carried over simple allergies from when they were human. This is a great story but I found Forge to be a great big stick in the mud, when I first saw how Forge and Blair met I had great hopes for their relationship but Forge constantly put obstacles in the way, refusing to even consider opening his heart to Blair, it wasn’t until he nearly lost Blair that Forge seemed to change his tune about what he wanted. Poor Blair does everything he can to make things easier for Forge even offering to leave but damn I wish he would have told Forge to suck it up and to stop acting like a baby. Will they make a great couple?… that I can’t answer because although Blair proved himself to be a perfect partner, Forge came across as selfish, only wanting what he wanted and ignoring how it affected others.

The murder mystery was brilliantly written always leaving us guessing and bringing a sense of danger to the story when it directly impacts Bogg’s Castle, we see the guys pulling together and working to their strengths to even begin to learn what they are up against. I must admit to looking forward to future stories as the guys seem to have only scratched the surface of the mystery and I am hoping that Forge and Blair’s relationship will settle into something special.

The book is well written and the story is a good one, the relationship is far from an easy one but both characters make it very interesting. The investigation leaves us wanting answers but it looks to be very far reaching and not one that will be solved easily, constantly whetting our appetites with the mystery of just what is really going on.

I recommend this to those who love paranormal mysteries, great characters who are both interesting and annoying, accepting new love and letting go of the old one, danger and desperate searches and an ending that piques your interest for the next book.

Poster Boy by Anne Tenino Blog Tour, Guest Post, Giveaway & Review!

Anne Tenino - Poster Boy _TourBanner(2)

Hiya peeps look who we have with us today… Riptide Publishing’s Anne Tenino with her newest release Poster Boy from her Theta Alpha Gamma series, she has a fantastic giveaway and a guest post about Beer Terrorists!!!! So I leave you Anne’s hands while you join in the fun and then check out Thommie’s review <3 ~Pixie~

Welcome to the Poster Boy Blog Tour! *confetti*

As you may or may not know, Poster Boy is the fifth in the Theta Alpha Gamma series, and (at least as far as I’m able to be sure about such things) the last TAG book. No, no, don’t be sad, be happy—we’re gonna go out in style!

Let’s discuss the nitty-gritty: the Blog Tour Giveaway. The prize package this time includes: one lovely “Theta Alpha Gamma Beer Terrorist Response Team” sweatshirt (I believe I have sizes M-XXL available, choice of two styles); one paperback copy of Frat Boy and Toppy with the new cover art, signed and inscribed to the winner; a bar of soap I bought in Les Baux (was going to send olives from Sainte-Remy, but we ate them . . . sorry about that) and; of course, one penis crocheted by moi.

How does one win, you ask? By following the tour, collecting all the official “prize” words (posts will have them clearly marked), and using them as directed at the end of this post (it’s complicated).

Happy word hunting, and enjoy the tour (psssssst, this one is heavy on the cut scenes).

It’s all fun and games until someone puts his heart out.

When Jock meets sexy grad student Toby at a frat party, things finally start looking up. After having been outed to his hockey team and then changing schools, he figures he’s due something good—like the sex he missed out on in the closet. Toby seems like a great place to start, and their night together is an awesome introduction to the fine art of hooking up.

Toby’s heart takes a bruising after the near-perfect experience with Jock leads to . . . nothing. He’s been left on the outside as his friends pair up into blissful coupledom, and he’s in danger of never completing (or starting) his thesis. Can’t something go right?

Then Toby’s coerced into chaperoning a Theta Alpha Gamma trip to France. Not that he’s complaining. What better place to finish his thesis and get over that frat boy? Except Jock’s outing is leaked to the press, making him an unwilling gay rights martyr, and he decides France is a great escape, too. It’s a break from reality for both guys, but they soon find their connection is as real as it gets.

Anne Tenino - Poster Boy _150x300(1)

Nominally, the Theta Alpha Gamma books are contemporary romantic comedy. There’re no shifter, no aliens, no vampires, no magical realms, no Byronic men in breeches, none of that stuff. Just fratbros, grad students and the necessary supporting characters to make things go.

Yep, nothing paranormal here. But fantasy? Now, I can make an argument for that . . .

Beer terrorists. There are, among the TAG bros, those who believe ardently in the existence of a shadowy, nefarious, tea-totaling militia that is a clear and present threat to the world’s beer supply. Do you see where the fantasy element comes in, now?

Occasionally, someone will tell me that “real” frat boys wouldn’t buy into this sort of fantasy. Probably not, but I’m not in the business of pedaling reality. I’m in the business of telling a story, and in my storyland, guys who still remember playing “siege” and “dragon slayer” as kids can go ahead and let loose. Go ahead and believe that forming a Beer Terrorist Response Team and implementing a training program in Provence is perfectly reasonable and sane. Have some fun. Play beer terrorist.

Readers of the series may know the concept of a beer terrorist was born in a previous book, Sweet Young Thang, when the TAG Alumni Association (kinda, sorta) try to cut off the brothers’ beer money unless they voted to rescind a membership policy welcoming gay and bi members. I could have left it at that, and come up with some new bizarre thing for the TAG guys to do in Poster Boy, but the idea of refined, complacent Provence overrun by crazy, fantasy-addled college boys? Yeah, it would take a stronger author than me to resist.

I remember the very day that I decided to have a select few of the (weirder) fratbros go to Provence and start some kind of Beer Terrorist Response Team training camp. The idea came to me in the car (as they like to do—ideas are sneaky little things, and prefer to reveal themselves when there’s no writing utensil around and they can’t be captured), and when that happens, I make a voice memo on my phone. I always put the date and time on these memos, and when I transcribe them later I make a note of that date and time.

On September 12th, 2013 (at 8:27 a.m.), I made a note to myself to have the fratbros “see this trip as a training camp for anti-beer terrorist response team. Gets ridiculous. Keep it secret from Toby.”

I offer you this voice memo snippet out of guilt, because I know there was an inciting incident. Something that made me think of sending them, too. I just can’t remember what it was, in spite of trying to etch it into my memory. Yes, it’s true; as I age, my memories are mostly made up of remembering I thought of something I wanted to remember, and even that something in particular made me think of it. But can I remember the actual thing or the thing that made me think of the thing? No.

Which brings us full circle (I’m serious, bear with me) to why I write these sort of fantasy/pretend threads into my work—because I’m no longer young. I’ve seen too much of the world to believe that (should beer terrorists even be a real thing) I have any hope of slaying that dragon. I’ve heard “that’s ridiculous,” or “that’s impossible” too many times in this life. But there’s one thing I can still do, and that’s create a world where those kinds of “pretend” things can survive, and even flourish.

For anyone who’s confused, let me make it clear—yes, Poster Boy is foremost a love story. It’s just a love story with an interesting (and possibly deluded) set of secondary characters.

It’s a contemporary romantic comedy fantasy.

Anne Tenino - Poster Boy - Prize-Cache3

For those of you playing to win the blog tour prize cache, here’s the word: shenanigans.

The word game—the rules are that I provide a bunch of words, and you have to create an ode to testicles. Hey, it’s fair—I gave you an ode to testicles in the book (well, part of one), you should give me one in return, using all the words from the tour. You may add any other words you need to, but it must include every word I gave out on the tour.

Of course, creative cheating might receive a pass from me . . .

At the end of the tour, send your ode to me at anne @ annetenino.com and I will choose one lucky winner from all the entries I receive by paying one of my children some exorbitant amount to draw an ode out of a hat (or other handy receptacle). All masterpieces must be to me by May 4th, 2014 at midnight Pacific Daylight Time (GMT -7:00). For a schedule of all tour stops, you can go here.

Oh, and:

*If the winner will be at GRL, GayRomance Northwest or the RT Booklover’s Convention, I’m also offering a lunch with me. And yes, I’ll pay. 😉

About Anne

Raised on a steady diet of Monty Python, classical music and the visual arts, Anne Tenino was—famously—the first patient diagnosed with Compulsive Romantic Disorder. Since that day, Anne has taken on conquering the M/M world through therapeutic writing. Finding out who those guys having sex in her head are and what to do with them has been extremely liberating.

Anne’s husband finds it liberating as well, although in a somewhat different way. Her two daughters are mildly confused by Anne’s need to twist Ken dolls into odd positions. However, other than occasionally stealing Ken1’s strap-on, they let Mom do her thing without interference.

Wondering what Anne does in her spare time? Mostly she lies on the couch, eats bonbons and shirks housework.

Review: And the TAG boys are back this time around with Jock and Toby’s story. Honestly it was about time for Toby to find his mate and I was so glad to see who Jock really was, as in the previous book all I got of him was Tank’s little brother, and boy did Tank smothered Jock down.
But here we are, our guys in full display and I must admit I was surprised by both main characters and their personalities. Truth be told I was surprised by the whole book as it was a bit different from the rest of the series while still retaining the humor and fun we are used to.

Jock is a character made of many layers and they slowly get out. There were times I loved him and God, there were times I thought what a complete jerk. But even as I was totally wanting to rip him to shreds at times he managed with one line to melt my heart, not in a sappy way though. I must commend the author’s ability to make sappy lines not feel sappy at all. She created a personality for Jock that was a blend of smart, sexy, naïve, and endearingly “slow” all at once. And she gave him the ability to work his “flaws” on his own, with an honesty that made you swoon and actually love the kid.

As for Toby, oh dear, where did that cynical, guy with that overconfident smirk go? Who was this new Toby we got to witness reshaping in this book? I loved every single part of his transformation. I loved every moment of his sentimentality. Most of all I loved Toby, the frat-boy secret General. He was a glorious character and the link that connected everything and everyone in this book. He was also an incredible lover. I think he surpasses many characters when it comes to being a considerate lover/partner. Both our guys together though were pretty brilliant. The scenes between them were not only sensual and erotic, they were interesting, intriguing, and downright gripping in the way they made you want to know what was coming next, and how the relationship would eventually evolve. I loved this couple not just because they were hot, but for all this relationship represented.

As for the “Boys” and their adventures in France, I don’t think there are words. Oh my God, one must read this book if only for Danny’s sake, I can’t say how much he made me laugh. Noah *groans* was also a star in his own way here and dear author, give the poor guy a break already. We already saw how “disturbed” Turbo was by his bisexuality. Enlighten the guy and make poor Noah smile aye?

Action-wise though I think the series has a penchant for overreaction and surrealism. Yet again the “fratbro’s” antics managed to cause a scene, this in international territory.

Overall this was yet another sweet and charming story in the TAG universe, one that can’t stand alone albeit with caution as there are many elements mentioned on the prequels that could cause a bit of confusion here. However in my opinion you could read this book and enjoy it even without the missing intel. Best though you pick out the books in the series, they are guaranteed to give you fits of laughter, steaming relationships and a great deal of fun with character written with a lovely humoristic pen. Enjoy!

 About Con:

Con Riley lives on the wild and rugged Devonshire coast, with her head in the clouds, and her feet in the Atlantic Ocean.

Injury curtailed her enjoyment of outdoor pursuits, so writing fiction now fills her free time instead. Love, loss, and redemption shape her romance stories, and her characters are flawed in ways that makes them live and breathe.

When not people watching, or wrangling her own boy band of teen sons, she spends time staring at the sea from her kitchen window. If you see her, don’t disturb her—she’s probably thinking up new plots.

Review: Liam Carlington is the supposed spoiled rich kid. He frequents bars and gets ripped with his bodyguard, sleeps around, dropped out of college and has no job, but he wants for nothing. In reality, all his bad behaviour stems from a broken heart. His childhood best friend and lover left him, and left Liam devastated in the process. He left college and quit working at his parent’s vineyard because he was seriously depressed after the breakup. When his latest outing ends with his bodyguard being stabbed while protecting him, Liam gets a new bodyguard. And in the process of dealing with another loss, he might just find the one thing that can help him heal.

Scott Jackson is tall, blonde and gorgeous. His good looks, seriousness and take-charge attitude catch Liam’s eye immediately. But the harder Liam flirts the harder Scott rebuffs his young charge. Scott assumes there is no way to protect Liam and share his bed. Scott is also hiding a few secrets from Liam, about his past and he’s not being entirely honest with Liam about the reason he was hired to protect him. The two men are put in harm’s way more than once, and every time they end up face to face with each other.
In a moment of weakness aided by alcohol and an intense mutual attraction, Liam and Scott take their relationship to the next level. But broken hearts, misguided trust and a psycho definitely put a damper on things.

Let me start by saying, Cover Love! The cover and the synopsis drew me to this story like a magnet. This story had just the right mix of mystery, romance, angst and detailed character storylines for a novella. My biggest issue was the anti climatic ending. While I had a pretty good idea of who the bad guy was early on, the story still kept me intrigued and the relentless flirting of Liam with Scott made this book so much fun. But when the shit hit the fan, so to speak, it was too easy.

Overall, this was a fast, fun read with a lot of meat on its bones for so few pages. I look forward to the sequel and seeing where Wynne takes these characters with the sequel.
