Review: This is a rather enjoyable historical fiction about a Count, Salvesto, with heavy debts and the young man, Amadeo, he finds along the way. This is the type of book that I would normally love, but I feel that the rather awkward writing style. Sometimes I felt a bit muddled when, to use a phrase, five words were used when only one would do. Other than that, this is a real enjoyable adventure, somewhere between swashbuckling heroes, scandal in the Court and summer in the country.

Salvesto arrives home to find the family estate in debt and in dire straits. He’s desperate to pay off the debts and though he is guilty about selling the family heirlooms he knows he will feel even worse if he loses the estate. The crook/thief/loan shark that he is selling off his heirlooms to also happens to be after another man for his debts, Amadeo.

It’s rather complicated but Amadeo ends up with Salvestro. The story is really about these guys getting along and Amadeo be rehabilitated from his wicked ways. There isn’t a particularly large amount of romance in the story but what there is reflects a wonderful tension between the two with a bit of “will he or won’t he?” going back and forth. Salvestro and Amadeo are both likable characters, I would have just liked to see more complexity come out of them.

I don’t normally comment on covers but this one I have to because I feel that this one is a bit misleading. The historical looking building and the rather smouldering looking gents on the front is not my issue, I think that’s great.

I just feel that the horses on the cover are rather misleading because I thought, “hey, maybe the guy likes horses”. No such luck, though one MC does own a horse. Then again, I suppose you aren’t meant to judge a book by its cover.

Most people who enjoy historical fiction will enjoy this one, especially since it’s in a rather picturesque area of Europe – then it was called Siena, now it is part of Spain.

Review: Jet and Nico are investigating the murders of the rogue wolves and also tying in the in vitro to the same time the Vampires were outed three years ago. They still haven’t font the one behind it but have suspicions. In digging Jet finds out more about Russ that he didn’t want to know and Nico has a secret that could make Russ’s betrayal seem minor.

I really like this series. There is a lot going on and you really should read all of this collection and Altered States for full effect …but you can follow the series fairly well on its own there will just be some characters you wonder the significance of and where they fit.

There is a lot of plot here which is good. You can see the relationship develop each book. And who doesn’t like a sexy vampire and hot werewolf?

If you like paranormal suspense, vampires, werewolves, and lots of mystery you will like this!

Review: This is the third book in the Cronin’s Key series. I absolutely loved this book and will definitely have to read books one and two which I did not have to time to read first.

This book is full of fascinating history of different places and creatures that I found riveting and stunning at times. I was completely spellbound by Alec’s many abilities throughout the book. They were a fascinating blend of things I’ve read in other books and some I have not.

I loved Alec’s character. He seemed smart to a point and tried his best to solve any dilemma that came at him. He was loyal and protective of his friends. Cronin was fiercely protective of Alec, especially when it came to something wanting to harm him. I loved that even though he could be fierce he was also tender and caring.

I loved the entire book. This book has a lot going on in it, from meeting new characters that are intent on harm, to talking to a vampire that can commune with the dead. I was mesmerized by the whole story line. I was slowly immersed in a fantastic world of paranormal creatures that took my breath away. Very well written and fascinating.

Highly recommended.

Review: Liam and Troy are foster brothers, best friends and roommates. The only constant in their lives since they were barely teenagers has been each other. Neither of them have ever had a successful relationship, partly because they keep choosing the wrong guys, but mostly because they make each other’s dating lives impossible by disapproving of any guy the other dates.

You see, almost as long as Liam and Troy have known each other, they’ve loved each other far deeper than just brothers or friends. The problem is, neither is willing to admit that to themselves, much less to the other.

Dalton is an aging, overweight cop in a bad marriage. Intimacy and passion are words that are absent from his dictionary, hence the reason he is going through a divorce. Trying to get his life back on track mentally, physically and emotionally for his personal and work well-being, Dalton crosses paths with both Liam and Troy separately and enters into a tentative relationship with both. A tug of war or sorts ensues when the three men realize what is happening.

But what if the only way for these three decidedly different men to be happy is with each other, all three together?

After first meeting Dalton in Saving Samuel as a secondary character, Milo’s best friend, I was anxious for his story. I really enjoyed seeing how he went from depressed, lonely, overweight and generally just miserable in his life to someone who was happy, passionate, hopeful and caring. He grew by leaps and bounds as the story progressed and it was the most prevalent aspect of this story for me.

I’m also a HUGE fan of throuples, especially when the reason they are together is valid. Liam and Troy are miserably, secretly in love with each other but refuse to admit it. When Dalton is unknowingly thrown into the mix, the lion’s den for lack of a better term, Liam and Troy have to face the reality of possibly no longer existing in the bubble they’ve created if they don’t face their mutual attraction to each other, as well as Dalton.

I also enjoyed the circles that overlapped, all three men completely clueless. You have Dalton and Liam, Dalton and Tony, and Liam and Tony. Each relationship is its own circle and the three overlap but never meet in the middle. When they finally do, the outcome is unclear for a while. The pace of the story was fantastic, everything slowly revealed at the appropriate time.

And though you knew there was a confrontation coming, you didn’t know when or how and I thought that was written nicely as well. Mostly, I enjoyed the character development of Dalton as an individual and the three of them as a throuple. The Liam, Troy not sharing their feelings with each other aspect of the story was a stretch for me, but aside from that, I really loved this book.

A kaleidoscope of emotions… Love, passion, angst, fear, anger and anxiety just to name a few, but it’s all nicely woven together by the author. I cannot wait for Blue’s story! More threesomes!!!

Review: OMG, I love Fit to be Tied by Mary Calmes. It has everything you could possibly want in a story. Plus, the sex between these guys is off the charts, hot. Watching Ian find his pleasure with Miro is absolutely mind melting. He had no idea it could be like that especially since he never felt that way with women. Another plus, the humor is hilarious as they banter back and forth and you will be cracking up at some of their escapades.

Miro and Ian are the perfect combination of give and take. Ian has that rough, growly demeanor that makes you stand up and listen, and Miro has the voice of reason, gentler, laidback attitude, that makes you swoon. However, Miro can also be dominating and fiery when needed, and he knows when Ian needs him to take that control.

Together, these two can do anything but when they become separated, they sometimes allow that little devil in their head to take over – putting doubt and confusion in their minds.

Miro has never been happier than he is now since Ian has moved in and they are now partners off the job, as well as on. One of my favorite lines in the book is “Ian was still technically bi, but was exclusively now Mirosexual and wasn’t interested in trying the buffet.”

Even though he is thrilled with how their relationship is going he still can’t help but want more. If he could just get Ian to agree and stop being so pig-headed he knows the next step would put his mind to rest.

But, before anything can be worked out, action and drama take over and Miro finds himself in a heap of trouble. You may remember the evil, sadistic Hartley, from book 1 and his obsession for Miro. Well, he’s back and unfortunately, Miro seems to be his only agenda.

Mary Calmes takes us on a fast-paced, action-packed ride that will have you holding onto to the edge of your seat. You will be so wrapped up in the drama you will forget to breathe. The events taking place are intense and at times, horrifying. I kept saying, “She wouldn’t…would she?” Whether she did or not, you will have to read and find out but the fear is palpable and my heart was beating double time.

Away from those moments are many that are heartwarming and beautiful. Miro and Ian have found the love they deserve with each other. Ian, not used to having anyone stand up for him, gets emotional at the intensity of feelings Miro shows for him. It breaks my heart that Ian didn’t really know what love and being part of a family was until Miro showed him.

Of course, we also get to see a little of Sam Kage in action since he’s the boss and I always get tickled at Miro’s response to the big/brawny Marshal. If he could only see how he is with his own family he would be surprised at the passion that lies underneath those muscles.

I know I’m fangirling here, but this author has not written one thing I did not like. Most of what she has written, I have read numerous times and the Marshals series is no different. The descriptive narrative she has clicks with me and I’m pulled in every/single/time. I am constantly fighting myself to read faster vs. no…read slower so it will last longer.

Regardless, if you read fast or slow, you will be enthralled with the storyline. There is a lot of love going on and no matter if it is under the sheets or out in the day-to-day adventures these two have a strong connection with an abundance of hot chemistry.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes to read stories with a plot full of action and drama. This is not a standalone although I guess you could but you would miss so much back history that I would not advise it. There is a wonderful cast of characters including the strong and vibrant women that never hesitate to circle the wagons around Miro.

I love the parts with Chickie, the dog because he is family and shouldn’t be left out. The dialogue is fun and catchy and I know I had a smile on my face through most of the book. The sex is spontaneous and combustible so don’t be surprised if you catch yourself sweating a bit. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series and I will be eagerly anticipating its release.

Another great addition that I will re-read many times.

Being warned by his new team mates of the tough rules and hard training routines, Todd is undeterred. But when he discovers that the player’s way of bonding borders on the sexual, and that he must learn to accept the erotic affections that connect the team together, he wonders how far he can go for his dream.

But, after experiencing the care and attention men can give to each other, Todd feels awakened. Learning that each player has a special “partner” on the team, who they play and bond with as intimately as lovers, Todd becomes fascinated with the idea.

And when he develops feelings for one player in particular, he discovers how a stronger kind of romance – that between two men – can be pure and powerful enough to bring magic and success on the pitch.

Reviewer: KathyMac

Review: Into the Team, by Rob Damon is his debut novel about a small boy, who lost his father at a very young age, growing into a man and fulfilling, both, their dreams of playing football. For those of us who live in America, we call it soccer, but it doesn’t change the dynamics of what the book is about, and that is team companionship/spirit/support/connections to your fellow team member.

Todd has dreamed of playing football since he was a small boy. He’s now twenty and it looks like his dream is coming true. As he is driven to an undisclosed location, by a football scout, he hates to get his hopes up for what this could mean.

He soon finds out that he is being offered a spot on one of England’s biggest clubs and he is ecstatic.

In the locker room, Todd sees two players in the shower together and this really confuses him. He’s pretty sure they were touching each other in a sexual way, but why isn’t anyone saying anything?

The more he learns about team dynamics and bonding the more questions play havoc with his head. When the boss notices Todd’s concern he pulls him into the office for a talk. His theory has proven that by partnering up with another team member, one that you connect with strongly, makes the flow of your skill on the field much better.

Todd doesn’t deny that knowing your team members and being able to anticipate their moves on the field works great but he is not sure about the intimacy he witnesses.
I really enjoyed this story and I liked the author’s writing style. I wasn’t sure how the story was going to play out, but I was intrigued enough to stay with it and basically read it in one sitting.

I wouldn’t consider this a romance, at all, more like a bro-mance. There isn’t any sex in the book, to speak of, and but there is touching and kissing. Most is handled off page allowing the reader to use their imagination.

With that said, there are moments of intimacy between the players that are very realistic and sweet, bordering on hot and sensual. The more comfortable Todd becomes with the team, the more he is at ease with expressing his feelings. At first, he’s very reserved and almost bashful, but he soon gives in wanting that connection with his teammate.

He does start to question his sexuality, however, and wonders if he is gay or at least bi. His partner on the team is Daryl, who is very shy and keeps more to himself. He has never clicked with anyone on the team until Todd came along. These two have a history together and I was really hoping that it would bring them closer, off the field, as well as on.

The story flows along at a nice pace and the author spends most of his focus on the field or locker rooms where the players are learning to trust and form connections. There were some phrases that I was not familiar with since this happens in England but I wasn’t thrown from the story. At one point, I was completely under the author’s spell, when the guys were on the field and the author narrated the game, play-by-play.

I actually felt as though I was on the field watching, holding my breath, willing the ball to go into the net. It was intense and I think I held my breath through the whole game. Great job by the author with his detailed descriptive narrative.

The author, in my opinion, leaves the story open for the reader to form their own opinion as far as the HEA or HFN. I choose to believe that Todd and Daryl, both, have their happy ever after and I would love to see more about them in the future to see if I am right.

I would definitely recommend this story to other readers who like a story with heart. There is a scene where I had tears pouring down my face as Todd faces some of his past about his dad. It was a beautiful and heartfelt moment and the author had my undivided attention. Then, there were moments that had me smiling from ear to ear celebrating their joy with them.

Overall, the story was very moving and I would definitely read more from this author.

Blurb: What really brought Taine to that backwater little world? Taine’s a hunter. He’s a red-skinned, black-eyed Lowman by nature, and a hunter by trade. Some hunters work in flesh, others in secrets, and some few work to set right what’s been set wrong. It’s a big galaxy and there’s always plenty of work for a hunter like Taine, so you got to wonder, what with all that at his feet, what really brought Taine to that backwater little world?

Off-World is an M/m science fiction action/adventure set in F/m dominated space. The story takes place in an arm of the galaxy where slavery (sexual and otherwise) is legal and commonplace. Strictly speaking, it is not a BDSM novel in that consent is not a matter of concern for the characters, but those with an interest in BDSM should enjoy the story. Due to explicit content, Off-World is not recommended to readers under eighteen years of age.

Review: The Sisterhood is dead set on making every male slaves. They are deadly and vicious when you act against them. I personally did not like them at all. Taine is a hunter, slaver and red skinned alien. He has need of a male but ends up with two. Although he is a slaver he is not cruel to his slaves. Tanner is a human not fond of gays but learns a thing or two when he given to Taine to learn the skills to be a hunter although he cannot actually be a hunter.

Taine’s home world description is bleak and he yearns for a greener world. I enjoyed this story though was confused at the beginning. There are twists and turns as the story progresses that draws the reader in.

Although I don’t care for stories with slavery or anything like it in them I found myself immersed in the story wanting to know the outcome. Very descriptive at times and adventurous this story will have the reader intrigued. If you like science fiction this story is for you.

The end makes you wonder whether or not there will be another book.

Review: I have definitely found another author that I can see having in my favorites list. At first I wasn’t sure about the story, because the title just didn’t do it for me. It wasn’t till I actually read the blurb for the book that I took the chance. However I have got to tell you, that I am so damn glad to have read it.

Dylan had kissed Jax on the night before Prom. It had not gone down the way he thought. There was so much miscommunication that it ended their friendship. Ten years later, his brother talked him into getting Facebook, and he looked Jax up. He friended him before he could think about it, however what happened was not what he expected.

Jax was an author and if only Dylan had known, he would have had his answer before. However Jax had made him promise not to read it. The secrets might end up destroying their friendship if they are not careful. The love between them is damn hot that is all I got to say.

I actually was thinking that if these two had not been hot heads in high school that they might have been together earlier on. Although when you are teens love can end drastically. When you are older, you have more sense to know how not to screw it up majorly.

I loved this book and look forward to reading more by this author. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end.

I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Each book in the Pickleville collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Robyn had been so in love with Caden five years ago, but that changed the moment Caden left him to join the military. He had pretty much abandoned him. So when he saw Caden, for the first time in five years he knew he was in trouble. It seems his heart didn’t want to let the man go. Didn’t mean he had to go easy.

Caden had loved Robyn when they were younger, but not like he should have. He had wanted to get away and learn about himself. That and he needed money for college. What he learned was that he missed the man more than he had expected. He realized it almost too late. Now he had some serious ass to kiss.

When these two get together they set the sheets on fire and cause every one a bit of friction burns.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: Each book in the Rescue for Hire West collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. To get a better look at them, I would suggest reading Rescue for Hire first. There you will meet the original characters and learn how the west was born.

Cade wanted to expand the business, so he chooses the next spot to be Nevada. He has found the perfect man to run it to. Roman Marshall was the ideal man for the job. Roman had spent time in the military and now he wanted to do something more. So when Cade suggested the idea of rescuing people he jumped at the idea. It got even better when he met Jimmy.

Jimmy had been dating one of the guys on his ranch, only to find him screwing around with his brother. He needed a break and Las Vegas was it. He had not expected to meet Roman. There are many things getting in the way, but things look up for them. That is until Jimmy almost gets kidnapped by a creepy serial rapist. He had not expected to be whisk off his feet by the gorgeous man. Nor did he know what to do. However he sure was going to go with the flow.

I came across Rescue for Hire not too long ago and can honestly say that they are probably one of my favorite series to read. So when I saw that Bellann was writing a new one that was connected I had to jump on it. Rescue for Hire West has definitely been a hit for me. Not only because they have the past military history, so you know that these men are strong, but they also have the heart.

There is always danger mixed into the love story which to me makes for a better story. I also love the fact that once they are on the team the become family and those that they fall in love with automatically become family also. They will protect their family with every bit of power that they have.

This book just grabs your attention from the moment you start reading and keeps it there till you have read every word. Hell my attention is caught by the cover right off the bat. They will also have you laughing at parts of the story.

Review: This is the second book in this series and I would suggest you read them in order. Kasey and Deke are a pretty amazing couple that is for sure. Deke is a werewolf who loves to be bitten and Kasey is a vampire who is into biting Deke.

Deke believes one always trusts other werewolves and he goes with it. So when they are contacted by a bitch who wanted them to follow her husband, it is Kasey that knows she is lying. Hell there is no husband, just a man who was experimented on. I think Kasey needs to keep Deke tied to the bed next time he comes up with an idea.

The sexy between them is majorly hot and kinky. It is a very fast paced story but way too short to get anything more than a nibble.

I had fun with it and definitely will be reading the next story.

Ky’s excited about the project until his prospective employer, Lisa Bird, insists she needs to do an astrological chart of Ky and a psychic reading as part of the interview. His crazy maybe-boss predicts a new man coming into Ky’s life. This new man will have a fire sign, she claims, is probably a Leo, his first name will start with a “T,” and he will be in his early 30s.

Ky, however, couldn’t be less interested in her prediction. He needs work, and love won’t pay the bills. Unfortunately, Ky doesn’t get the job because Lisa believes he isn’t a team player and because their stars are out of alignment. That would be fine, except that the reading she gave him proves to be frighteningly accurate.

Soon, Ky has no idea which of the two wonderful new guys he meets is his “forever man.” How can he choose? Or will they, too, vanish as fast as Ky’s last paycheck?

Review: There is rarely a time that I do not like, if not love an AJ Llewellyn book. Only You is one of those times were I just like the book.

The story follows Ky – he works in LA in the movie business and finds himself in a slump when he loses his job. Ky’s best friend (Angus) and best friend’s boyfriend (Santos), who also working in the business) want to help him get back on his feet and if Ky finds a man along the way they would be entirely pleased by that, too.

When he does track down a potential job, Ky gets a psychic reading. For a guy that doesn’t put store in any of that kind of stuff, he really did start thinking about it. There are a number of love interests, including Santos’s cousin in Tijuana (where Santos and Angus go regularly), Isidoro.

Only You is the kind of book which is all telling and angst and found myself hanging when I thought that there needed to be more action. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing. There was also what I’ve been accused of doing plenty of times – not finishing a thought. Plenty happens and we know how Ky feels, but sometimes it just seems incomplete.

However, none of the characters really grabbed me (which actually made me a bit pissed off), though I found myself really sympathizing with Ky.

As I said, I really did enjoy this one but my imagination told me there was more unexplored potential in this one.

Review: Sabine and Bart have had a shaky past. Though they have been lovers for 10 years the past few months. Both men have done things that have made their friends upset with them.

I never really felt one way or the other towards Sabine but I did love Bart. This book redeems Sabine quite a bit an in such a short book there is a lot of action and plot and the story begins really to take shape. Plus there is a bit of humor thrown in when Laurant gives him a demon name to practice with.

If you like fast paced action, ghosts, demons and a little chuckle you will love this.

Review: Each book in the Kansas City Heat collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. However it can be read as a standalone.

I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Jenna. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down.

First embezzlement, then murder and it just keeps packing up. It is up to Mike to find out who is behind it all. The problem is he has the hots for the head of security. Things are heating up and then the impossible happens. Cole is being framed for it all. It is up to him to save his lover from some long jail time that is for sure.

Cole is the head of security at the casino and has the hots for the detective handling the embezzlement case. He understands the difficulties that is coming from their seeing each other, but he can’t stop. He wants the sexy detective. He trusts Mike to get him out of this mess and to keep their hearts from getting damaged.

I have to say that the ending is a bit off to me though. I can see the problem of them being lovers while the case is going on and also the attitude of Cole with all the questions. However I would have really liked the love word instead of lust. I just wished they could have moved forward just a bit more.

I also wished that it had been expanded. I could have continued to read it all night long. Even with that little problem, I was captivated by the whole story.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.
