Title: For a Dragon’s Healing Series: Highland Dragons, #6 Author: Charlie Richards Genre: Paranormal Length: Novella (74 pages) Publisher: eXtasy Books Inc. (May 15th 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Blurb:Two men. One wants to be whole again. One redefines the meaning of being whole.
Upon learning from his son that his chieftain plans to force his daughter to wed a stranger, Achaius McCord flees with his family. In order to escape, he spends hours clinging to a dragon’s neck, aggravating his weakened thigh muscles. He spends the first few days in his new home flat on his back, and when he finally regains his feet, he’s constantly asked if he needs help…with everything.
All Achaius wants is for everyone to stop coddling him. While he knows he’s no longer in his prime, he’s not an invalid. Then, he learns the true reason everyone is being so nice. He is what the dragons call an asda, a human capable of bonding with a dragon, affording them status and companionship. Having lived as a cripple for nearly a decade, Achaius knows he’s looked down on and pitied by his fellowmen.
Review: Each book in the Highland Dragons collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Achaius is Ross’s father and an asda. He is an old man who had a life time of growing up crippled. He comes off as a sore and a bit cranky to all. When they came to live with Ross and the dragons he had not handled flying and walking the countryside very well. It had made his leg stiff. Then all the dragons keep asking him if he needed help. Turns out they were courting him. However there is one dragon who has his interest peaked and doesn’t treat him like he is half a man.
Curzon wants Achaius but he doesn’t think that he would be interested in a half-breed. Things are about to get real interesting.
The thing with this series is that the ending always leaves you hanging a bit. You know that the Curzon and Achaius want each other but you never hear what happens next. However for me it doesn’t take away from the story at all. I have such a blast reading Charlie’s stories. They are so damn entertaining.
The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break. There is a bit of a serious tone to them, but there is a lot of humor in them that I love. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

Title: Of Monsters and Men Series: A Forever Home, #2 Author: Caitlin Ricci Genre: Contemporary / Paranormal Length: Novel (191 Pages) Publisher: Dreamspinner Press LLC (May 20th 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 3 ½ Hearts Blurb: Seth’s life looks idyllic on the surface. He has a great job at the pet rescue with a fantastic boss, who happens to be a werewolf. He is getting his degree at the local university and has a best friend who understands that the most intimate thing for Seth is a kiss.
But when it comes to relationships, Seth’s perfect life is a jumbled mess. No guy stays around because eventually, they always want more than Seth, who is asexual, is able to give. Seth wants love and a relationship, but not the sex that everyone puts so much value on.
Seth tries for something more with the man he has a crush on, but when that ends Seth feels like he’s back to square one. So when his boss’s brother, Jeremy, pushes his way into Seth’s life, insisting that he won’t press for more than Seth is comfortable sharing, Seth is wary. All of Seth’s experience says it won’t last long.
But Jeremy is one werewolf who is used to getting his way, and might just be patient enough to wait for Seth to see he means what he says.
Review: This book must have been a very difficult one to write because the author is tackling a subject that is very hard to most to understand, asexuality. She does a great job of presenting many misconceptions using Seth’s relationships and interaction with his psychologist and group therapy partners. It was hardest for me to understand the difference between finding pleasure in snuggling, kissing, intimate human touch and not having the driving sexual lust, the need or eventuality of orgasm, even being turned off by the feel of a partner’s erection.
These were difficult situations for me to wrap my brain around but it was done with some sad and some funny examples. I love how Seth got distracted by the need to trim or paint his nails while his boyfriend was masturbating in the bathroom after a cuddle session.
Of Monsters and Men helped me understand the total disconnect sexually, the still have the need for touch, for kiss, for being cuddled. I can also imagine now how difficult that must be for a relationship to work, for a partner to truly understand and not push further.
I had a harder time with the paranormal but this time, it didn’t fit as smoothly with the huge topic the author undertook. The retribution also left me a bit dissatisfied. We also get to see Marius and Jack, and of course the bad boy brother Jeremy.
There’s some drama, some bigots, some interesting talents, some sweet animal shelter matches…but the most interesting part of the story was the explanation and demonstration of asexuality and how one cope with a whole world of people misunderstanding it.
Thanks for the enlightenment!

Title: Aiden’s Angel Series: N/A Author: Aundrea Singer Genre: Angels and Demons / Urban Fantasy / Paranormal / Fantasy Length: Novella (144 pages) Publisher: Dreamspinner Press LLC (May 27th 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Blurb: Aiden Lobo is a graduate student in a world where magic, gods, and demons are part of everyday life. After a terrible betrayal, he is cursed with a Crack in his heart, turning him into a living doorway for an ancient demon of war to come to Earth and kill millions. Aiden is rescued by his guardian angel, who seals the Crack with his own Light. As a servant of the divine, the nameless angel was supposed to kill Aiden to prevent the growing cataclysm inside him. But he loves Aiden too much to end his life, even to save the world.
Aiden falls for his guardian and names him Eskandar, but then learns to his horror that because Eskandar was created for him, when Aiden dies Eskandar will too. Aiden will do anything to keep his beloved angel safe. But with no choice except to sacrifice himself to prevent the apocalypse, he only has one option: a terrible betrayal of his own.
Review: This was a truly fascinating story. Aiden is betrayed by someone he was in love with and made a vessel to summon an ancient demon. His guardian angel Eskandar saves him several times throughout the story to keep the demon from coming into this world through Aiden.
The ritual and fight scenes were greatly detailed to the point where I felt as though I was there witnessing everything. It broke my heart at the pain Aiden went through as the story progressed. I was cheering Aiden and Eskandar on hoping they could be together as they wanted to be. The love these two felt for one another was strong and sure.
The magic used in this book was at times a little confusing, but it was still a great story.
Loved it.

Title: A Sin He Could Live With Series: Red Rock Pack, #3 Author: Lacey Denair Genre: Paranormal / Shape-shifter Length: Novella (113 pages) Publisher: Siren-BookStrand, Inc. (May 28th 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 ½ Hearts Blurb: When bear shifter and clan leader Stone McTiernan meets his mate, wolf shifter Raven Terrence, its love at first sight. But the man is leery of starting a relationship with anyone, and won’t say why.
Figuring Raven’s been badly burned, Stone wages a campaign to let his man know he’ll always be there for him, while remaining true. When Raven gives in, the big bear thinks all his dreams have been answered.
However, life doesn’t always go the way people want, and when Raven’s ex-lover shows up and starts stalking him, things soon come to a head. Framed for something he didn’t do, Raven is arrested and taken into custody.
Can Stone clear his love’s name and get him back in his life to stay? He can only hope the answer is yes, as the old flame is determined to win his wolf back. The question is, can Stone hold his love’s heart or will old sins tear them apart?
Review: Each book in the Red Rock Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. I came across this series not too long ago and absolutely loved it.
The only problem I have with this book is the last chapter or so. It was going great then it moves into what other couples are doing and who is mating who. It would have been better had that part been cut out. I would have rather love to see that in future books. It came off wrong and way too fast.
Raven had thought he was in love with Tynan. However he soon realized that Tynan was a selfish prick that deserved to get his ass kicked. So when Tynan tells him that one of the girls he sleeps with is pregnant and he is too much of a coward to stand up to his mom, they end it. Then Tynan’s father shows up and things get a bit screwed up. The two betas beat the hell out of him. Once he recovered his brother asked him to move to the Red Rock pack.
All is going well especially when he meets Stone. When things go well then you know all hell is about to blow up.
Stone knew that the man was his mate, but he also found out that his little mate had been hurt pretty bad. Then Tynan shows up and tries to screw Raven’s future up. A wolf is about to get his ass kicked by a big ass bear. That to me would be perfect justice.
This book gave me almost everything I could ask for in a story well that is until it goes into Tynan’s mating and so on. The author could have made Tynan have his own story without messing this book up. To me it was just a waste to go into others live when the story should focus on Raven and Stone. It also gave me a thought that this was to be the last story of the series which I do hope is not how it ends.
I had a blast with Raven and Stone. They were an amazing couple and I got a kick out of Raven’s best friend. Although I loved Raven more. I would recommend reading this story. It gives you the paranormal world, sexy shifters, danger and pain, love and regret, lots of action and some hot sex.

Title: On the Right Track Series: Vocal Growth, #1 Author: Sam Kadence Narrator: Michael Stellman Genre: Young Adult Length: 5 hours and 59 minutes Publisher: Harmony Ink, Dreamspinner Press (10-29-2014) Heat Level: Mild Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: Ryunoski “Ru” Nakimura knows all about the trappings of fame. Expelled from a boy band for coming out as gay, he still wants to continue his career in music. Too bad his ex finds nothing better to do than exploit their relationship in the press, so Ru leaves California behind to lie low in Minnesota for a while.
Adam Corbin attends a Minnesota high school and wants to coast through as a typical student. He’s friends with an openly gay student, Bas Axelrod, but while Adam plays football, he also stays away from much socializing. Blending in and not outing himself has been easy because he’s never really been seriously interested in any of the guys he’s encountered.
When Adam meets Ru in a library, Adam begins to think he’s found that special young man who might make it worthwhile to just be himself. And for Ru, Adam looks like someone he might trade his fame for, if they could be together. Ru and Adam will both come to realize that courage and love must go hand in hand if they are to have a future.
Review: Seventeen year old Ru Nakimura has few people in his young life he can trust. His mother is an absentee parent in every way, unless she needs money. His father who lived and breathed turning Ru into the best musician he could be, walked out and abandoned Ru at just thirteen when Ru confided in his father he liked boys instead of girls. Recently outed by his fame hungry ex-boyfriend and subsequently kicked out of his band for refusing to go back into the closet, the only person he can rely on is his best friend and former band mate, Tommy.
Sixteen year old Adam Corbin has coasted through life virtually unscathed. He’s not a jock, or a brain, or emo, he is just Adam. Until the afternoon he sees the intriguing young man with black hair and beautiful eyes in the library, Adam never really realized he was gay because he never put much thought into it.
His mission in life is has to been to make as small an impression as possible, coast under the radar, it’s safer that way. These two young men that have gone out of their way to be invisible, start to shine and glow once they meet each other. Adam is participating more in school, he is more confident and secure in his own skin now that he has Ru in his life.
But being a gay rock star in the world today doesn’t come without its pitfalls. Ru has to go out-of-town a lot for appearances and shows, which is hard for Adam to deal with at times. And then the mixture of a power-hungry, former band mate of Ru’s and a deeply closeted former friend of Adams, becomes dangerous and volatile. Adam and Ru will have to grow up way too fast and sacrifice part of their youth on their journey to happiness.
This just might be the best contemporary gay YA story I’ve ever listened to. For starters, it was rich with content, for just over five hours it felt more like I’d been listening for days I got so much content. The characters were perfectly penned for their ages, the situations they faced, the decisions they had to make included some immaturity arising occasionally and played out perfectly.
Adam is very young a little bit naïve, his parents have been kindly strict. He has a curfew and rules and consequences, and most important, he is not allowed on social media. This placed him inside almost a protective barrier, so his reaction to things that happened in the story was so innocent and natural.
Ru is almost polar opposite. For someone only seventeen years of age, he has experienced more pain and disappointment than some grown ass men. His father shaped and molded him into the best musician he could be and then in one night’s time, walked out of Ru’s life forever rather than raise a gay son. His ex-bandmate is so insanely jealous of Ru, his talent and his accomplishments. So much so, that he makes it his life mission to make Ru’s a living hell. Including getting Ru’s ex to out him publically, but he crosses a line when he goes after Adam.
And while I loved everything about this story from start to finish, I think that the conversation at the breakfast table when Adam told his mom he was gay and she just reinforced her unconditional love, barely blinking, was the best thing about this story. Parents of LGBTQ young adults and teenagers should have to spend a day with Adam’s mother, so she can teach them how to react to your child telling you he is gay. There is no reaction! You love them without strings, the way god intended it to be when he loaned you that precious soul to raise.
As I said before, there is a lot of content. Life, love, bullying, brief thoughts of suicide, friendship and tolerance. The balance between the hate, anger and abuse of some people that surround Ru and Adam is perfectly balanced with love, understanding and support from the people in their life that truly matter. Definitely an age appropriate story about two young men that find each other in the strangest place, fall in love, and fight ignorance and intolerance in order to be together. But the story is so well written I think it will appeal to listeners of all ages.
Narrated by Michael Stellman who was able to immerse himself into the various characters of the story easily, changing tones and nuances from the start to match the way the different characters were written. I could hear the innocence Adam carried in the way Stellman told his story, and while Ru was wiser in the ways of the world, he is only seventeen, and Stellman captured that worldly smart but sometimes confused characterization.
I cannot wait for the sequel, Unicorns and Rainbow Poop, to become available on Audible. Bass was such an eccentric character. I can’t wait to listen to his story.

He’s persuaded to take on a new client who is everything he despises in a man: the effeminate, tantrum-throwing, attention-seeking bad boy of Paris haute couture named Nicky Bryant. Review: Jonas Hunter is a high-class body for hire with a small, exclusive, mostly male clientele who pay big bucks for his undivided time and attention. He’s persuaded to take on a new client who is everything he despises in a man: the effeminate, tantrum-throwing, attention-seeking bad boy of Paris haute couture named Nicky Bryant.
I chose “Façade”, because I found the cover fun, I read the blurb and thought it sounded good. Then I started reading. For the first 80 pages or so of this book, I was interested, and thought that there was a lot of potential for Nicky and Jonas to find romance. Then, out of nowhere, there is a ménage (m/f/m). Which is not so bad in itself, but for me this started a kind of creepy feel to the characters.
Nicky has an undefined relationship with Tanna, his assistant and at one point has unprotected sex with someone else and, everyone is ok with this? Plus there are several sex scenes that may turn readers off, many voyeurs’ scenes, graphic manage m/f/m. The publisher should have disclosed that this was not a full m/m story, as I can’t imagine this would make many m/m readers happy.
For me there are too many gratuitous sex scenes that do not enhance the already weakening plot line of this story. Maybe the author doesn’t understand fidelity, which is needed, for me, to even begin to feel any romantic connection between the two main characters.
The reader gets nothing about either of the main characters back-story. You don’t believe that they can come to any compromise that would lead them to end up together. There is neither character growth nor any real journey. Jonas comes across as flat and Nicky is underdeveloped, too many gratuitous sex scenes that in no way further the meagre plot or relationship.
Some issues pop up, like a photo of the Jonas and Nicky having sex ends on the internet, but nothing happens, no scandal, nothing. Makes you question what the point of it was except to add to all the other unbelievable issues this story brings.
I felt especially let down by “Façade”, because of the engaging start, but, the author was unable to capture the fulfil potential this story started with. At this point, I am unsure if I will take another chance on this author.

Title: Sunkissed in DC Series: City Shifters, #2 Author: Melody Lane Genre: Paranormal/ Vampires Length: Novella (75 Pages) Publisher: Extasy Books (May 15, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥3Hearts Blurb: A leopard shifter’s prostitution past comes back to torment him and his new lover.
Jake Marino may have a tough exterior as a muscle-bound Muay Thai kickboxing trainer, but inside is a tender heart with a desire for love. He doesn’t expect that meeting leopard shifter Alex Butler would change his life.
As a young man, Alex was an exotic prostitute for a big-wheel Washington, D.C. federal prosecutor’s side business. These days, being a paralegal is more his speed. He enjoys his day job, but there’s something missing in his life. Love. As he looks to the future with the hope he sees in Jake, his past comes back to torment him.
Review: This is the second book in this series and although I am one for reading them in order, you can read them as standalone. Each book gives you excitement, suspense and danger. However it also gives you love. Now I must admit that this book was missing something to make it perfect. It comes off to fast paced and like it was a rush job. It doesn’t really take from the overall story though.
When Alex was younger, he was an exotic prostitute. It meant that he was a shape-shifter who had sex in certain forms and was requested for. He had gotten out after a few years and worked for a paralegal firm. The problem was his little sister had taken the same route. However for her, it ended with drug abuse then killed. He hadn’t seen her in a few weeks, so when the sexy new man he met lets him know about the young leopard being killed he knew. He also wanted to get to know the sexy man.
Jake taught fighting techniques and spent most of his time in shorts. He was new to town and was just getting used to it all. Then he meets a sexy man at the museum. They have their issues and one of them is to end the man behind the prostitution ring.
It goes to them meeting, falling in the sack, danger showing up and truth being told, fights and then love. I just think it moves to fast to get where they are at the end. I liked it and had a blast with it, but it is more description and not enough meat in it.
I hope the next one is a little spaced out with it all. It is a great start though.

When David meets his neighbor Zach, he can’t tell if Zach is just being friendly or if the handsome fireman might actually be interested in him. The more time they spend together, though, the more David questions his resolution to remain single.
If Zach can extinguish the flames left by David’s past, David might finally break away from his structured life and take a chance on love.
There’s something to be said for maturity and experience, whether it’s a second chance at love, a May/December romance, or finding a soul mate later in life. These stories prove that it’s never too late for new love.
Review: This is part of the 2015 Daily Dose- Never Too Late. This one was definitely hot and I had a blast reading it. There is nothing better than a man in uniform, and in this case a hot fireman. You can’t really go into why you love a story in detail when they are shorts because you don’t want to give it away. But damn this was my kind of story and I would love for this to be a novella. I want more details and more story with this.
David had been in a relationship that left him a little hurt. It was a terrible breakup but he had decided to start fresh. So he took a position at a college teaching medieval history. When his cat gets away and heads up to a tree well one normally calls for help. To his luck, his neighbor was a fireman and a damn hot one. Things lead to other things and it all gets smoking hot.
I had a blast reading this and can guarantee that you will too. It is short, hot and very tempting. I loved it and look forward to reading more by this amazing author. Nico is a new author to me, so I look forward to more stories.

The writing was top-notch and evenly paced for such as short story. Neither man is expecting what happens between them. But neither do they fight how they feel.
They show their honor and bravery. Each is willing to follow and face their destiny, instead of running away from it even knowing they may never see each other again.
This was a very well done little read.

Title: Until I Found You Series: 2015 Daily Dose package “Never Too Late.” Author: B.G Thomas Genre: May /December Length: Novella (84 pages) Publisher: Dreamspinner Press (June 1 2015) Heat Level: Low Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: Christopher Morin is unlucky in love. The only male worth anything in his life is his sweet dog Frost. Christopher is devastated when, shortly after his breakup with the worst boyfriend ever, his dog vanishes without a trace.
Doyle Schilbrack was lucky at love, until his wonderful partner of many years passed away, leaving Doyle lost and lonely. The solution? He adopts a sad little abandoned dog, a dog he names Jack. Together, man and dog come back to life.
Then one day, a year later, Christopher encounters Doyle in a park—walking his dog! Now the two men are faced with a dilemma. They want to do what is best for their dog, but it will break their hearts to let him go.
But then a rambunctious white Pomeranian takes matters in his own paws. There might be a way for both men to keep the dog, and find something else that’s been missing from their lives.
There’s something to be said for maturity and experience, whether it’s a second chance at love, a May/December romance, or finding a soul mate later in life. These stories prove that it’s never too late for new love.
This is such a beautiful story first of loss. Christopher has lost his fist live in boyfriend but realizes it’s for the best. Then he comes home a week after Graham has moved out and finds his beloved dog Frost gone. He searches and searches to no avail.
Doyle has just lost his husband of over twenty years and something leads him to the local pet shop. He is about to leave when the lady introduces him to a poor dog about to die from grief. It won’t respond to her or her husband. It won’t eat or drink. But it immediately responds to Doyle.
This story starts out sad and tragic, has a magical note (not real magic but the sense of the dog drawing two lost souls together), then becomes sweet and romantic.
If you are a pet lover, like sweet charming romance, May/December relationships and an all over fun, beautiful, short story this is for you!
As an added bonus if you are B.G. Thomas fan, you will recognize Doyle and Christopher from Spring Fling.

Title: The Burning Season Series: Eight Kingdoms # 3 Author: Belinda Burke Genre: Paranormal/ Vampires Length: Novel (159 pages) Publisher: Totally Bound Publishing (April 24, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥4 ½ Hearts Blurb:Winter’s love is blood and chaos…but fire isn’t all that smolders at Summer’s heart.
To claim Bran forever, Macsen has begun the ancient ritual of Sidhe courtship—but such a rite is a trial in more ways than one. Tradition requires that Macsen seek Bran’s favor in his own country, and a Summer courtship is teasing and promising. More than that, Summer’s Queen will come between Macsen and her son however she can.
Despite his mother’s disapproval, Bran’s will is bent to the same purpose as Macsen’s—the achievement of four proofs of love. Proofs that only Bran can determine or acknowledge. One step at a time, they come closer to a day when nothing will be able to separate them—but a familiar foe is more than willing to try.
In the mortal world, the year has continued to pass without a hint of green. The Green King has prevented the spring, and thus all seasons but winter. Still, it’s Macsen whom Dealla blames, and all her plans for violent retribution are directed at him. Failure may cost her everything, but that is a price she has long been willing to pay.
In the wake of her invasion, Macsen is left with a dilemma that might not be easy to solve. Love, or vengeance—which should he choose? Can they live together in the same heart?
Review: Third book in the Eight Kingdoms series and a great addition. Well written with a lot of details and many things happening throughout. Macsen decides to court Bran according to the Sidhe tradition. Bran’s mother causes a fuss about it even though I thought it was sweet that he wanted to prove his love that way.
Dealla is still up to her evil ways. I honestly thought she would have been taken out in the second book but she escaped. I personally don’t like her at all. She’s mean, evil, and cruel and only cares about herself and what she wants.
Great story with some violence, loss of life and adventure to magical lands. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Great read.

Title: Prized Possession Series: (Up-Ending Tad: A Journey of Erotic Discovery #4) Author: Kora Knight Genre: Contemporary/BDSM/Coming-Out Length: Novella (105 Pages) Publisher: Kora Knight (February 7th, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: With Tad’s reservations firmly on the one-eighty, he’s finally more at ease exploring this intriguing new part of himself, especially where his attraction, and affections, for Scott are concerned.
But when their evening plans get cancelled, Tad winds up watching the guy in action at the gym instead. Kickboxing lessons lead to sparring, which in turn leads to a face-off more erotic than Tad could have ever imagined. With huge new boundaries crossed, both men are floored like never before.
Have these milestones finally put all Tad’s hang-ups behind him?
Warning: this 30k+ story includes erotically rough physical play and graphically explicit gay sex. Intended for mature audiences only.
Review: Oh my, oh wow, this was the most erotic story I have had the absolute pleasure of reading in quite some time. I don’t know how Kora Knight can take 100 pages, give or take, and make them one big sex scene that literally has you holding your breath in fear of coming to the end too quickly. But, does she ever and OMG, I am so hooked. This series is an erotic read, there’s no doubt about that, but it’s not porn. It is a beautiful journey between two men who fit together like peas and carrots.
Tad and Scott have to rearrange their plans when Scott all of a sudden needs to fill in for a friend at the gym. He invites Tad to come and watch and be a part of his kick-boxing class. Since Tad has been wanting an opportunity to take him down for a while now this seems the perfect time.
Tad knows his feelings for Scott are getting stronger and stronger and he may be getting close to the “L” word. He’s never been in love with anyone so he is taking it slow and Scott understands.
After class, Tad really wants to show his dominance for a change.
Every encounter they have had has always been with Scott taking the lead but Tad is ready to take the reins. Wrestling has definitely taken on new meaning and I don’t think I will ever see it that Tad and Scott will not come to mind. They have taken HOT to a whole new level.
Kora Knight works magic with her characters. The way she writes sex scenes between Tad and Scott and includes so many relevant factors like laughing, joking, touch, kissing, being serious when they need to be, it is absolutely incredible. Ms. Knight I believe you have ruined me, lol. Only in the best way, of course.
Prized Possession may be my favorite so far. It’s really hard to decide because each one is just pure perfection of sweet, sexy, and delicious goodness. I strongly encourage everyone to read this series. I know it has jumped to the top of most favorites and Ms. Knight has become an auto-buy for me.
Bringing it Home is up next and my only regret is that it’s the last one until Fall. So so good!!!

Title: Murphy Series: F.I.S.T.S – Book 2 Author: Bey Deckard Genre: BDSM/ Science Fiction Length: Novella (59 pages) Publisher: Bey Deckard (June 1st, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts Blurb: Sometimes when it seems like it’s too late, the right person comes along and opens your eyes…
Murphy is the continuing story of a D/s relationship between two Space Marines who found each other in the midst of hopelessness and misfortune.
Sarge and his newly minted squad travel across the galaxy on a top-secret mission that could help win the war. However, to Murphy something about the mission stinks, and it’s not just the planet they’ve landed on.
Review: Murphy and Sarge are fighting a war that should have ended years ago. They all know it is money and greed that keep them there, but for now they continue to fight the fight. Murphy was injured on his last mission but he seems to be on his way to recovering very well.
By now, the crew knows, or they think they know, what goes on behind their closed door. Murphy is a little embarrassed, but he holds his head up just the same.
Sarge wears his tough and abrasive personality in front of his crew, at all times, but he’s realizing how much Murphy has softened him up, and he just shakes his head in disbelief. When it’s just the two of them, they are like poetry in motion. Murphy loves, LOVES, submitting to Sarge and being at his beck and call. He will do whatever he needs, or what Sarge needs, to serve him.
Sarge puts Murph through his paces, knowing the whole time what it’s doing to him, or to certain body parts. When they engage in sex their spark is like a force field ready to ignite. It is powerful and explosive. Murphy has the ability to see colors, an aurora that lets him know Sarge is more than happy when they are together.
As the Marines prepare for their next mission, something is not right. Both, Sarge and Murph, feel it they just don’t know what it is. Murphy is having trouble with his leg working properly but chooses to keep it to himself, right now.
The team splits up and that puts Sarge on alert. Their mission is simple, or so they were led to believe, but they soon find out it is more than they were told. As trouble ensues and they are left to their own devices will the other team members find them before it’s too late?
And, something is happening to Murphy causing his vision to blur, colors are going haywire, and he is struggling to stand. Sarge is going ballistic and he aims to kill. He needs answers even though he knows he won’t like the ones he hears. Is it possible they were set up?
Bey Deckard has an incredible ability to write beautiful prose that will suck you in and make you thankful for the experience. Murphy is a short story, much like Sarge, with enough action and drama that you would swear it was a full length novel. You know it’s not because you keep looking at the page count hoping the end is not in sight.
As I have come to expect with anything that has Bey attached to it, the execution is smooth and flawless and the descriptive narrative will catapult you into the story. The sex scenes are just as beautiful, which sounds a little weird with it being two marines, but hey…that’s the way it is.
Sarge reminiscing with himself about Murphy…
Gorgeous and gifted with as much brains as brawn…and unwaveringly and completely mine. I grit my teeth and blink hard.
There must be dust in my eye.
He rescued me, my boy. From myself, mostly. And, you can bet your ass that from now until forever, I’m going to make every single goddamn second count.
Even if you think to yourself, I don’t like sci-fi, don’t let it deter you with this series. I don’t like it either, however, I love everything Bey Deckard. Maybe we should make a new genre called, WhateverBeywrites.
