Blurb: Chief of Police John Dakota is in a world of trouble. His peaceful town of Seaside, Oregon, has been rocked by a wave of unsolved murders. The bloody deaths are eerily reminiscent of ones that occurred in Seaside years ago. Back then John worked hard to make sure the truth about the killer was never revealed. Now he’s afraid the past is coming back to haunt him.

Trevor English, the nosy reporter who occasionally shares John’s bed, is demanding information about the crimes. He also wants more of John’s affections. But John can’t afford to give in to either demand without risking the revelation of Seaside’s biggest secret: the town is a haven for shifters, and John is one of them.

To solve the crime—and prevent more victims—John must delve into the past. Many members of Seaside’s shifter community are involved, but it’s becoming harder and harder to tell which residents can be trusted. Even John’s family isn’t above suspicion. The body count is rising, and it looks like John is the killer’s next target.

Review: This is the first time I have read a story by Ethan Stone and I have to say that it won’t be the last time. If I had any clues about his stories I am pretty damn sure I would have grabbed them all up.

I have not really been one for mysteries but I have come across a few that I absolutely loved and this one has the perfect twist to it. The Chief of Police just happens to be a sexy bear shifter.

John loves his little town and the people that live there. John is not only the chief of police but he is also a bear shifter. There are many shifters in Seaside Oregon and he loves the peacefulness that surrounds their community. However it also has some deadly secrets, such as his dead father. Murders that are just like the ones that happened many years ago, it would seem that they have a copycat.

Trevor is a crazy and nosy reporter who just happens to be in love with John. You could say that it was just a way to get release, but it turned into love. He doesn’t know all of John’s secrets but he sure wants to find out. You could say he had not expected the truth, however when his man is in trouble he will do whatever he can to save his man.

This story was fascinating and so damn hot. I was shocked to find out who was behind the murders but damn the story had kept me on the edge of my seat guessing. My attention had been caught the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more.

I hope that Ethan makes this one into a series with a bit more characters finding love. I had so much fun reading it and can’t wait to see what other stories this author has out. This is one book I would definitely recommend.

Review: I had made the mistake of reading one of the smaller stories that comes with these types of series and was a bit disappointed in the fact that it really didn’t have much to tell at all. However it was just intriguing enough to catch my attention and made me want to check the rest of this series out. .

Now most paranormal stories you can pretty well guess what they will be like. There are very few new types out there, so when I read this one I was pretty surprised. Got to say though, I wished she had not given it a death sentence when they got infected. It made it a bit creepy. The virus creates big cat shifters that usually don’t last long. They go through this viral cycle that is about once a month type of thing. There are very few that survive, and a tiger strain hasn’t survived until now.

Roan is a viral child. He was born infected and changed into a lion. His kind have never been known to survive childhood, but he has managed it. He thinks he is nothing more than a freak though and doesn’t really care what people think of him. He is a bit snarky and has a great attitude in some ways. He has this amazing attitude that has him trying to save those around him. He is also a big geek in a way.

Roan finds a tiger shifter close to death and knows he needs to get some weight on him, and then get him to the hospital that deals with cat shifters. Paris is not expected to make it through the night, but he has this strength behind him that proves them all wrong. However the chances of him actually living long is not good. But he calls to Roan like no one else does. He was infected not too long ago and had not wanted to survive until he met Roan.

Roan is a private investigator who gets paid by either cash or even a car. There are a few cases to solve in the story which makes it even better, but very long in length. Now I was good with most of it and it kept my attention but that attention waivered somewhat. What was surprising was that I was never lost with this book except for the beginning. I am not sure what to really think about it though.

The story is unique and fascinating but it also comes off a bit bizarre as well. So I have mixed feelings with it and I am not sure if book two will help me or not, guess we will have to see.

Review: This book was previously released elsewhere. It has been re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing. I found out that someone I think highly of had read this when it first came out, and that if she loved it, then I knew it would be hot. I was not let down at all. It is short, sexy and very hot. The cover knocked it out of the ball park; I mean the guy is gorgeous. Then you have the title and it shows a little more heat. I looked at the blurb and it was sold.

A one night stand might have been fun, if the guys were not so tuned to each other. It would seem that they want each other for more than just one night. I felt bad for them both though. One lived in Chicago and the other in Miami. It makes one think a one night stand is a terrible idea.

I loved this book and can’t wait to see what other stories this amazing author has out. It shows what each other feels. I never thought long distance romance was a good thing to begin with, then these two get together a second time. It just makes it harder for each to decide what they truly want. It is hot and very sexy; to see these two get together. It makes ones heart feel so much, to know what they feel for each other and their decisions.

I would definitely recommend this book to my friends. It is a lot of depth and details put into a short story. I was amazed with it.

Review: This is the third book in the St. Hawks Medical series. Kit, a nurse tech, has relapse just when he meets a sexy biker named Shepherd. This book was so good yet so sad at the same time. I really felt Kit’s pain and how afraid he was to get to close to Shepherd.

I admired the way Shepherd did not give up on Kit even after learning what was wrong with him. It was such an emotional book that it had me in tears at times. I was cheering for these two men who seemed to need each other.

Fantastic book. Highly recommended.

Review: This is the fifth book in the shadow play series. Will is given a mission to is dangerous as he tries to put an end to assassinations. In the face of losing his business he wants at least one good mission.

Ingonico has his fingers in a lot of unsavory things regarding a vicious feud with M16. These two men are past lovers and find themselves torn between their duty ad desires for one another. It is a game of cat and mouse as they both struggle to juggle both without letting on to others.

Although this book can be read as a standalone it would be better to read each book in order as everything in not revealed in each book. You get a better understanding into characters and unanswered questions the further you read the series. It was an o.k. read.

Review: This was a very powerful book about school shootings and the effects afterwards. From start to finish the story holds the reader in its grip as the story unfolds. I felt bad the shooter as it comes out he was bullied even though the school has a zero tolerance for that.

I didn’t understand why Mark held himself responsible for what happened considering he was dealing with life after a divorce and his son. I felt he shouldn’t have felt that way for the events. I really liked the whole story.

It’s riveting, powerful and emotional from the get go.

Review: Each book in the Rescue For Hire West collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. To get a better look at them, I would suggest reading Rescue For Hire first. There you will meet the original characters and learn how the west was born.

I came across Rescue for Hire not too long ago and can honestly say that they are probably one of my favorite series to read. So when I saw that Bellann was writing a new one that was connected I had to jump on it. Rescue for Hire West has definitely been a hit for me. Not only because they have the past military history, so you know that these men are strong, but they also have the heart. There is always danger mixed into the love story which to me makes for a better story. I also love the fact that once they are on the team the become family and those that they fall in love with automatically become family also. They will protect their family with every bit of power that they have.

This book just grabs your attention from the moment you start reading and keeps it there till you have read every word. Hell my attention is caught by the cover right off the bat. They will also have you laughing at parts of the story.

Most people run to join the circus, but Rhys ran away from it. He was eighteen and wanted to join the Army and his grandfather refused. With the help of his cousin and a sexy stranger, he managed to get away. One magical night with that stranger and then to be abandoned the next morning left Rhys in a bitter mood. Now ten years later, he is face to face with that stranger. And damn if Joe didn’t remind him of that special night.

Joe was nineteen and knew that they were going end up going in separate directions. Rhys was joining the Army whereas Joe was going to be a seal. He had known love happened fast, but his life was going to mean something. Now ten years later and he was going to be working for Rescue For Hire West, and with the man he had fallen in love with so long ago. Now all he had to do is to get Rhys to forgive him.

This book gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more. I just wished that there were more to read, I absolutely hate having to wait for the next story. **Hint Hint for Bellann, come on girly give me another book to read.** I loved this one and cannot wait for the next amazing story. I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series, one that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it.

When Bellann puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

After achieving the impossible and releasing their people from the Varas slavers, Anan and Terja, a spellweaver and spellspinner, start the arduous journey back to their homeland. As added insurance, the Varas High Regent hires a Triad of legendary Ubica assassins and assigns a full regiment of his personal guards, along with their captain, to the task. Their mission is clear: recapture the escaped Talac slaves destined for the Varas pleasure houses—and the bed of the High Regent—at any cost.

Review: This is a continuation of Ennek and Miner’s journey that began in Stasis.

Ennek and Miner go on an adventure to find freedom from those in their homeland who would have them under their thumbs. This story is Miner’s.

His revelations are heart-breaking. But he is determined to overcome his past and be the best man he can for Ennek. Ennek struggles to control his newfound powers as wizard.

These two are constantly on the move traveling from place to place and encountering many dangers in their quest for freedom and a life free to be together. I love the chemistry and commitment these two characters show each other. With the journey ahead they will need that strong bond as the journey is perilous.

I loved that the story spans several places as opposed to one. The details of the journey were amazing. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Review:   At first glance, it seems like this series has come to an end because Tart and Sweet wraps up all the loose ends. Robbie is the one who broke Adam’s heart, the one who’s lack of courage put in motion a series of events that gave us this beautiful series that’s full of fluff and love and rainbow sparkle. As much as I don’t want to see this series end, if it does, I’m left with an overall feeling of happiness and contentment. BUT… Amy Lane is not an author I can predict and I really love it when she proves my assumptions wrong and surprises me in the best possible way.

Robbie has this huge cloud of regret hanging over his head and when he finally decides to be true to himself he realizes he’s not happy and hasn’t been since he broke Adam’s heart with his cowardice. Too many things to be sorry for, so many reasons to believe he deserves to be miserable and unhappy; Robbie has never been one to make risky decisions and has taken the cowardly way in order to keep his homophobic family happy. But all that changes in a split second after a brief dance in the streets along beautiful, free and talented Cy.

Cy is a dancer, a free spirit who does what he loves best and is unapologetic for being who he is. He owns his bisexuality and his effeminate core and is not ashamed of it; Cy is also a beautiful soul who believes Robbie is worthy of forgiveness and sees in Robbie a person worthy of love and trust.

Tart and Sweet is fluffy and bright and full of hope, but in true Amy Lane fashion, it will touch your heart leave you with an emotional hangover. I loved that we got to see every single couple from the previous books, and while this book wasn’t focused 100% on Robbie and Cy, it didn’t feel like they were overlooked in any way. We also found out a little detail about Darrin that changed my hopes of him getting his own book.

If you’re planning on reading this book as a standalone, stop right now and go start at the beginning, otherwise you’ll be lost and confused and won’t get to appreciate this book for what it really is. This is one my favorite series from Amy and I assure you, you’ll not regret reading it.

Blurb: Betrayed and left for dead by his lover, North has retreated to a secluded island to nurture his coven of witches and their demon partners. His group uses the magic of starlight to bring as much peace to the world as they can. It’s enough. North has no desire to look for love again.

When an accident on a carpentry job reveals that he is a demon, Alan Holsen is sent to North for training. Alan possesses a rare healing ability—one he might be able to use to close the old wounds in North’s heart. While North teaches Alan magic, Alan teaches North to love again, and they both struggle with the leftover resonance of their haunted pasts.

Just when they dare to relax, North’s old enemy returns—and sets his sights on Alan. To save him, North must enlist the aid of neighboring covens, and he learns he isn’t as alone as he thought. But in the end, only North’s love for Alan and the power of the stars have any chance of saving them.

Review: This story is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.

For the last two years North has lived on his small Island regrouping, building up his strength and nurturing his coven of witches and their demon partners, when he’s sent a new demon to begin his training he expects a ten year old child and an easy time… what he gets is a twenty one year old man who hits all his switches. Alan got the shock of his life when he fell from a roof and flew, the owner of the roof explains what Alan really is and Alan finds himself with a reluctant tutor.

This is a fantastic paranormal story that has witches and demons working together and falling in love. North fell in love once before, believing the demon, Gagnon, to be his but Gagnon used and abused him and left him for dead, now North doesn’t let anyone close. Taking Alan on has North confused something about the man calls to him but strange things start to happen starting with a necklace North lost two years before.

Now before we go any further let me say that I didn’t read the first book Another Healing so I don’t know if a full explanation of witches and demons was explained and although there is a brief explanation all I really got from it was the only difference between a witch and a demon, who are both human, is that witches have more talent and demons more power… so yeah no demons from hell or anything like that. Other than being a bit confused as to the whole demon thing I think book rocked!

North and Alan are great characters, they have a few confused moments between them before they find their feet with each other but then the really exciting stuff in the story begins. North’s past comes back and throws North for a loop, can he trust Alan’s appearance, the necklaces return and his bastard ex’s sudden pleas or is something more sinister going on.

This really is a fantastic story that keeps you reading from the first page, firstly because North comes across as a gruff, grumpy git (I was surprised he was only 26), you then get hooked with the magical appearance of a sea monster and a dragon, we become really invested in North and Alan as we learn both their stories and see them opening up to each other, and then we devour the pages as danger heads their way. This really was exceptionally well written.

I recommend this story to those readers who adore paranormal romances, who love characters who have seen the worst and come out stronger, who love magic, danger and finding love and a fantastic storyline that you don’t want to put down.

Gray throws himself into learning everything he needs to know to be president, especially a liberal president surrounded by a conservative cabinet and staff. He can’t help but feel abandoned by his husband of 10 years.

Review: The President’s Husband is a fun look into what could happen if the US ever had an openly gay president in the present (I hope the world would be more enlightened in the near future, but you know pigs flying and all that). It is also a somewhat emotional look at the price that high stress jobs have on relationships, even a successful and well established long term relationship, which we are introduced to in this book.

The President’s husband is Dr David Hammond. The President, who had been vice president for all of ten minutes before needing to step up to the post of president, is Grayson Alexander. He’s the first openly gay Vice President, and then President in a conservative government. David and Gray have been married for ten years and they are just completely made for each other, that much is clear from the get go.

Being thrown into the deep end means that David and Gray’s relationship is let go in favour of Gray learning the ropes, which means listening other more experienced White House staff. The problem about this, not only is David frowned upon for continuing work, he is also being neglected. When David manages to help in a health crisis which threatens the US, the fall out is horrible and I really wanted to hit Gray over the head (and yes, I did cry).

It will take Gray a lot to heal the rift that he ignored between them and that is what is the guts of the book. Sometimes you need more than love and that is the main theme of the book. Both guys learn a lot and in short I just loved this story.

Review: So, first off, I have to say that I’ve been getting through this series all arse about. I actually wrote a review for book 2 of Island Medics (which I read and loved) before listening to the audio of the present book, book 1 of the Island Medics series. However, for the life of me, I cannot figure of which of Sue Brown’s books set within the universe of the hot docs of the Isle of Wight and cannot find it in my collection, when I am convinced that I have read about the reasons why a minor character of both book 1 and 2 essentially hides himself away. I found the book for 2 characters we met in passing towards the end of Island Doctor too, which I haven’t read and now want (FYI Lyon Road Vet series). It is so incredibly frustrating.

But none of that is the point. The point here is that I have listened to and thoroughly enjoyed Island Doctor. We meet Dr Jeff Martin, a GP on the Isle of Wight. He loves his adopted home, although he tells everyone who cares that he has a girlfriend called Trisha back in Manchester. Trisha is in fact, Tris. Jeff’s boyfriend never wanted to be out and so Jeff never forced the issue.

However, between work and the constant commuting between Isle of Wight and Manchester on weekends leaves Jeff with no social life and knowing very few people on the isle, which makes him scared about coming out. While things come to a head with Tris, Jeff meets the great grandson of one of his favourite patients, Cameron Gillard. Cameron is like a breath of fresh air in his life and Cameron is ready to show Jeff that he doesn’t need to live in the closest. Both MCs are fantastic and strong in different ways, but they are both independent but they are also mixtures of intelligent, rational and caring.

One of the biggest problems for me was that it took a few chapters for me to get used to the narration by Adam Rivington. I’m not sure if that’s because I suspect that the accent is either completely put on or merely an exaggeration or what was going on… it just felt at first that the voice wasn’t real to me. I know for a fact that I find it difficult to listen to Australian accents which are exaggerated, too, more so than the impersonation of the accent. Whatever, in the end, it doesn’t matter because I quickly got on board with the narration and enjoyed the book from start to finish.
