Blurb: The only thing Emmett has known his entire life is the zoo. He was born in captivity, taken away from his mother when he was twelve, and has lived alone in his cage for the past twelve years.

Levin is a free shifter. He was born free, and he’s made saving shifters under human control one of his missions in life. The lucky ones are locked in zoos for human entertainment. The unlucky ones are in labs, being tortured and killed.

Emmett and his best friend are rescued from the Colorado Zoological Park just before the park plans to get rid of Emmett for not being able to breed. Emmett has trouble adapting to life outside the cage, but Levin is there for him, helping him every step of the way. It’s confusing and scary, but Emmett has never felt so safe—yet so out of place.

Levin and Emmett must find a way to fit together as they deal with a jealous ex and Emmett tries to become a true pack member. When one of the kids runs away, not even Levin listens to Emmett when he says he can help. Will Levin manage to rescue the pup before it’s too late? What will happen when Emmett decides to disobey Levin’s order to stay put and gets hurt in the process?

Review: Each book in the Free Shifters collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in s
sequential order.

Many years ago, shifters thought that the human’s would accept them into their world. They found out just how wrong they were. Either you were slaughtered or thrown into a cage for life. Many shifters were born in captivity, such as Emmett. However there were some that managed to escape the life and were called free shifters. Free shifters who tried to rescue all that they could.

Emmett had been born in a zoo, but had been taken away from his mother at the age of twelve. He has never known freedom or what the outside world was like. Forced to try to get a female pregnant, he knew his death was soon to come. Then Levin showed up to save him and another.

Levin has been free all his life and made it is life to rescue those who were caged up. He just hadn’t expected to fall for the little guy. However life is not all about understanding, because Emmett was having a hard time adapting to his new life. Then a young shifter decides to go outside where the hunter’s were and got lost. No one will listen, so it is up to Emmett to save the day.

This sounded like a fascinating story but it doesn’t seem to flow as smoothly as the rest of Catherine’s books do. It just seemed a bit off to me, but was still a very fascinating book. I loved the worlds this author creates and the characters rock. It caught my attention and kept it to the end of the story.

Review: Lucky has plans for a long break after his adventure but things do not go as planned and he is yet again pulled into another demanding adventure. Prophecy, battle plans and war quickly ensconce our brave Lucky into an unforgiving adventure with much at stake.

I loved everything about this story. It’s breathless scenes left me stunned at times. The battle plans were ingenious as well as the characters themselves all playing vital roles into bringing this stunning story into sharp clarity.

I was hooked from the very first word to the last in this exciting addition to the series. Another brilliant story for the Sun Child Chronicles as we follow Lucky on his journey yet again.

Great read.

Blurb: Levi was one of the most popular men on campus at his little college located in the north Georgia hills. In the three years since his small group of friends left the little mill village called Hell’s Creek to venture out into the ‘real’ world, he’s watched as each of them has grown more carefree and happy. They played football and Frisbee, went to their classes and partied hard on the weekends. And none of the other students ever guessed that a small group of shifters has invaded their human world. Life would have been sweet if not for one thing—the one boy on campus that Levi wants to impress hates his guts. Openly, intensely, and with great malice.

Christian has his reasons for not accepting Levi’s endless invitations, and they all have to do with a terminal illness he’s had since he was a child. When Christian goes camping one weekend with a friend, he’s hoping he can forget his troubles for a while and relax. It’s working fine, until a huge wolf and a black panther come roaring out of the forest and straight at him. Christian faints and when he wakes up, finds that Levi has taken him to his home in Hell’s Creek. The strange inhabitants of the town all believe they can turn into animals. And people are telling him over and over again that he can’t leave, because he’s seen too much. Worst of all, the more time he spends with the gorgeous Levi, the healthier he’s beginning to feel and the more he’s beginning to fall for him. Is there really something in the water like everyone tells him? Or is he just going as crazy as they all are?

Will the secret that Hell’s Creek has been hiding finally be revealed? Christian has to find a way out of town before it’s too late, and before he falls hopelessly and irrevocably in love.

Review: Each book in the Hell’s Creek collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Men and their evil creations have been shown once more. They created small towns, full of poison and kept their people prisoner. You try to leave and you die. If you are different the human religious nutcases kill you. Christian was told when he was younger that he was going to die from a blood disease. It was what let him go to college, to live what was left of his life the way he wanted. He wanted to drink his way out. That is until he see’s Levi. A man who was everything he was not.

Levi saw Christian and wanted him. Levi is a shifter whose town was trying to combat what had been done to him. He had not really believed in fated mates, but Christian was his. Now all he had to do is to show him. I just don’t think the way he did it was the way he intended.

Once I started reading this, book one came right back to me. It caught my attention from the start and kept if all the way to the end. I loved the characters but damn if they are not cranky or quirky. I enjoyed the fact that a wolf and a cat were mated. In fact it made me laugh a bit. It has a serious tone to it but it was even with the other feelings in it.

I had a lot of fun reading this and can guarantee that you will enjoy it. This is one story I would recommend.

Shorty’s Review: 💖💖💖💖 4 Hearts

Connor works for an organization that keeps track of aliens and artifacts and tries to prevent attacks. His best friend Isa is constantly setting him up though nothing pans out until Jason. On the surface Jason seems perfect. But nobody is perfect in my opinion. Then there was the mind attacks on Connor and the culprit found in Noah an alien.

Now I found Connor to be, I don’t know the word to use here, clueless, ignorant He should have known something was off about Jason. I could not believe he was that clueless consiering what his job was. it felt unrealistic to me. Noah was interesting and I liked his character. His backstory was fascinating especially his reasoning for doing what he did to Connor.

I think I would have enjoyed the story more if not for Connor’s character. I don’t think his character quite fit his job description and he left me feeling stunned at times that he could not see what was right in front of him. Never the less, I still enjoyed the story.

Great read.

Pixie’s Review: 💖💖💖💖💖 4 1/2 Hearts

Connor works for a company that secretly investigates anything alien, making sure alien artifacts don’t fall into the wrong hands. But, just recently somebody is getting to the artifacts before they can. On top of that worry, Connor seems to have gained a stalker who he has a very strange connection with, is it friend or foe? Noah has managed to stay under Primrose’s radar since the company came into being, but now he has inadvertently connected to one of its workers, Connor.  Noah tries to keep clear, but it’s not long before Primrose comes for him. Will the connection between Noah and Connor work for them or against them?

This is a great alien story that has a wealth of detail, great characters and an intriguing plot. Noah has been stranded on Earth for hundreds of years, living a quite unassuming life and not drawing attention to himself.  Inadvertently he makes a connection that he hasn’t felt in 270 years, he has high hopes, but then finds out Connor has a boyfriend. And that isn’t the least of his problems when he receives a visit from Primrose. Connor is shocked when something strange happens to him, but he tries to push it to the back of his mind as he starts dating a new man. Unfortunately, things become confusing for him when he discovers he has a connection to an alien and then he comes under suspicion when alien artifacts disappear from his work place and then Noah disappears as well.

Aliens, Smith, and Jones is far from the typical alien story. Noah Jones might have been found by Primrose, but they never experimented on him, okay so he went through a lot of tests but he wasn’t treated badly. I really liked the way that Primrose is portrayed in this book, although they do hunt aliens and alien artifacts it is more for the safety of the world, but without the need to experiment. I really was puzzled by Connor’s boyfriends’ role at first, but it soon began to come clear and it added a really good twist. I liked how we were drawn into the workings of Primrose and what they actually do, so we didn’t see them as the enemy.

What happens between Noah and Connor because of their connection I won’t say much about, but let’s just say that it saves both of them on more than one occasion. The action is well written and I liked how the mystery was done. There is some betrayal and a really horrific time in store for Noah at the hands of unscrupulous characters.

The sex in this book is really hot and it is intense when Noah and Connor finally get it together.  Their connection is something that is quite beautiful. There are some times when anguish and fear shine through and the descriptions are impressive and you can imagine just how emotionally painful it is.

I am going to recommend this one to those who like clandestine agencies, aliens, secret agendas, alien loving, a great storyline and a happy ending.

Review: A Fool and his Manny is the fourth book in Amy Lane’s, The Mannies. I’ve really been looking forward to this as I have thoroughly enjoyed the previous three books, which were all released as part of the house line Dreamspun Desire. This was a really fun and sweet book which I devoured every page as I got towards the HEA.

This is the second book in the series that goes onto the next generation of the people that are somehow apart of the Robbins family, because that family is so damn big there is an urgent need for mannies!

This is the story of the oldest Robbins-Grayson, Dustin. His father knocked up his mother, in book one (the hero’s, Tino, best friend and sister) and way before his parents had a bajillion kids. Now Dustin is all grown up and attracted to Quinlan Gregory, the man we met in book 3, a trumpet player and friend of Sammy (Dustin’s cousin) who was taken in and hired by Dustin’s parents to be a manny for their herd of kids. Dustin was a teen by book 3, so he isn’t that much younger than Quinlan, so I assure you, it really isn’t as weird as it sounds. This is a relatively low angst book, my favorite kind, and Dustin and Quinlan make a totally cute couple.

I really enjoyed seeing this side of Dustin. He was always a brat when we’ve seen him previously. Now he has grown up and matured into a young man. Quinlan was an ordinary college student and gifted musician when we first met him but there has always been an element of loneliness to him from the start. He is one of those characters that I felt strongly and looked forward to having his own HEA. It makes me ridiculously happy to say that. I love how Lane has developed all the characters over the four books. On a side note, I loved the conversation on the band bus involving Harry Potter and how the kids grew up from cute kids to good looking (yes, we’re talking about Neville Longbottom!).

This is a must read for anyone who has been following the series. I’ve tried to be concise with my description but as you can probably tell, there is a lot of background, hence my recommendation. For those that haven’t read the series, I recommend reading it in order because this is a proper family saga that spans approximately 22 years. If you love a sweet story with a HEA and low angst this is the book for you, especially if you’re a sucker hot guys working with kids.

Colorado wedding planner Mason O’Reilly lands a major contract: a 200-guest wedding at the Leanin’ N Ranch, where his friends Ford and Stoney are working to provide a safe space for LGBT events. The Wright/Preston ceremony is a destination wedding, and as the grooms are from Texas, everything is done over the phone and email. There’s no way that could lead to trouble, right?
Oops.

Oil tycoon Noah Wright isn’t happy about the impending disaster, but he admires Mason’s quick thinking and grace under pressure. And that’s not all he likes about the out-and-proud wedding planner. Even though Mason’s interested in Noah, his Mr. Right can’t possibly be a rancher from Dallas.

Can he?

Review: Finding Mr Wright is the second book in BA Tortuga’s series, Leaning N Ranch. It is not entirely necessary to have read or heard the audio of book 1 (Commitment Ranch), but I’ll admit that I went and tracked it down after finishing this audio. Before Dreamspun Desires, I had a little knowledge of BA Tortuga’s books, but within Dreamspun Desire’s found that I enjoy and look forward to reading Tortuga’s work, especially if there are cowboys involved!

Noah Wright is the titular Mr Wright. He’s a Texan oil tycoon, but he is not some old crusty, bombastic guy. He is a loving brother, family man on top of being a brilliant businessman. He is the contact for the wedding that is to take place at the Leaning N Ranch in Colorado. I’m not going to go into any detail because what happens within the first couple chapters is pivotal to the rest of the plot and how Noah interacts with his love interest for the book, the wedding planner Mason O’Reilly. And I’m not going to spoil the whole thing.

The narration of this audio was done by Robbie Nelson. This is the first time I’ve heard Nelson’s narration, but I did like what I heard. He had the right tone, and accent, to ensure that I was engrossed by the story. I have to say that it took me a bit to get on board with the accents used on some of the Colorado native minor characters on the ranch. However, on the whole I was happy and most importantly the characters were just wonderful in his voice.

Brian

You’ll make it out of here, Brian. I swear.

I had everything—school quarterback, popular with girls, and my dad was proud of me. I told myself it didn’t matter no one knew the real me. And then I nearly died. Landon saved my life. He’s the bravest guy I know. He came out a few years ago, proud and fierce, and he ran into gunfire to help others. Me, I’m a mess. Can’t even stand to be in a room with the curtains open. But here’s the thing about losing it all: You get a chance to start over and be someone new. Only how can I move on when the two shooters who attacked our school were never caught? And why do I feel like I’m still in the crosshairs?

Landon

Will you kiss me?

When I came across Brian Marshall, the hottest guy in school, dying on the cafeteria floor, I did what anyone would do. I tried to save him. His request surprised me, but I figured he needed comfort, so I kissed him on the forehead. When he survived and came back to school, he was broken in body and mind. He still needed me, and soon we were unlikely besties. But what I saw at school that day woke me up. I want to demand action on gun control, lead protests, raise my fist. I’ll tear the world down if I have to. And if I can get the man of my dreams and save the world at the same time? I’ll take it. Only I didn’t understand that the horror at Jefferson Waller High wasn’t over.

Once Upon A Wolf by Rhys Ford ~ Audio Review

A refreshingly new, tender-hearted slow burn from Rhys Ford!

Title: Once Upon A Wolf

Series: Wayward Wolves 01

Author: Rhys Ford

Narrator: Derrick McClain

Genre: Paranormal

Length: 3 hrs and 49 mins

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press (16th May 2018)

Heat Level: Low – Moderate

Heart Rating: 💖💖💖💖 4 Hearts

Blurb: Gibson Keller’s days are fairly routine: wake up early, get some work done, drink lots of coffee, and take care of Ellis, his older brother, stuck in wolf form after coming home from the war. It’s a simple life made up of long runs on two legs—or four—and quiet evenings…. Until Ellis chases a handsome man off a cliff and into the frozen waters beside their cabin, changing Gibson’s life forever.

For Zach Thomas, buying an old B&B is a new start. Leaving behind his city life, he longs to find peace and quiet, and hiking the trails behind his property seems safe enough—right up to the moment an enormous black wolf chases him into a lake, nearly drowning him. Discovering werewolves are real astounds him, but not as much as the man who rescues him from the icy water, then walks into Zach’s heart as if he owns it.

Loving a werewolf—loving Gibson with all his secrets—has its challenges, but Zach believes their love is worth fighting for, especially since his heart knows the big bad wolf is really a prince in disguise.

Review: A new series with a new feel by Rhys Ford. I must say I’m really proud of this author for flexing her creative muscle and diversifying her writing style. Too often authors get stuck into a cookie cutter format, due to pressure and demands of their readers. If you’re used to Rhys’ in your face, shock and awe, often crazy violent and bloody, hot and sexy reads, this one will surprise you. Once Upon A Wolf is still packed with action, but of a different kind. The opening chase between a dark wolf and Zach, the conflicts between Gibson, Ellis Zach and an enraged officer, all add drama that we expect from Rhys. But the slow build, the sweetness and the flow of the characters discovering each other is unique to this first novella of her new series. This book is a slow sweet burn, leaving me want for more…. I think it’s a good thing! Though I might have wanted a teenie weenie bit more ravaging, these guys were more patient that I was!

The narrator Derrick McClain, was perfect and refreshingly new also, good variance on the different characters’ voices, good tempo, no complaints at all. I’ll have to look for more narration by Derrick for sure!

The sexual encounters take a while to arrive, which I find refreshing, and are passionate, creating soul deep connections between the characters.

Refreshing, new, another side of Rhys Ford’s writing prowess. I recommend Once Upon A Wolf if you’re in need of some adventurous, loving, slow discovery romance. A tender balm to the chaos of our times.

Review: I read everything by Andrew Grey without much of a second thought these days, there have been very few of his books that I truly struggled to read. Grey has something of a formula where there is usually a single father struggling with a sick (or recovering) child when he finds love.

However, All for You, is something totally different by Grey and I really liked how the plot was handled. It could have been a predictable melodrama, way too close to comfort to stories you hear in real life, but what I like about this story is that there is always hope. In the darkness, when things in a small town seem impossible for closet gay men, there is hope of changing beliefs. That is what I loved most about this book.

The story is about Willy – aka Will or William, whatever. I personally think the name Willy sounds too childish, but I also think it strangely fits for a character who is controlled by his preacher father who wants Willy to be sheltered and to live the perfect hetero life and succeed him in becoming the next preacher. The problem is that this image is not Willy – he wants to do something more with his life and most importantly he knows that he is gay. He loves his small-town home of Sierra Pines but doesn’t like that he cannot be himself. When he goes to the city to a club for the first time he meets a man that can only be described as a gentleman. Willy is too innocent for words, but Reggie is something of a knight in shining armor.

Reggie had escaped to the city for the weekend to meet up with his best friends and go to a gay club and enjoy himself. His new life and new job as Sierra Pines’ new sheriff means that he can’t have a personal life in the town. Already Gabriel, doesn’t like the fact that Reggie respectfully declines to attend church. But then he finds out that Willy, whom he’d met the previous weekend in the city, is the son of the reverend. There is an attraction between the two of them and the chemistry is undeniable. They start to form a sweet friendship and soon their lives become undeniably entwined.

There is a small subplot line about “the rest stop” where shady things from drugs to toilet sex to something more sinister seems to be happening. I found this plot a little predictable (I figured out the culprit immediately) but I liked how this was used to move the story along and let us see more shades of characters that we thought were just bullies. No matter what some of the people have done, a couple of minor characters who start out unredeemable all have hope of healing and redemption, much like Willy and Reggie.

This is a happy book – there are some dark themes approached but Grey keeps to the light side of it in this one. As I said earlier, I like the hope and the hope for redemption, happiness and healing that this book offers.

Blurb: Maximillian “Max” Lipovsky has been Regent of the Atlanta coven for the past six months. His days are full of meetings and paperwork as he does his best to straighten out the mess left during the disastrous reign of Vadim’s brother Ermine. With Vadim now happily living in Cloverleah with his mate Josh, it’s up to Max to keep his friend’s coven happy and safe. Easier said than done. When it is pointed out to him it’d been more than six months since he’d fed from a willing donor, Max decides a night out is exactly what’s needed.

Lyle Roberts is tired of being scared, tiny, and alone. But mostly he’s tired. When a tall, strong man with flashing red eyes stops him getting beaten up in an alley, he thought he might have found a momentary reprieve from his rotten life. Finding out the man was a vampire, something he’d only seen in movies, Lyle decides to take a chance and asks the man to remove his curse. Only, it turns out Lyle isn’t cursed after all – unless you consider having a workaholic mate as a curse.

Lyle’s arrival at the coven seems to have brought out the worst in people. As soon as one threat’s dealt with, another one rears its ugly head. With the Alpha of the Atlanta pack pushing for a meeting, and vampires turning rogue within the coven itself, Max has his hands full. The only problem is, with his hands full, he doesn’t have anything to hold his beloved with. Will Max and Lyle ever find their HEA or will the mating curse strike its cruelest blow of all?

Review: This story can be read as a standalone however I would suggest reading the Cloverleah Pack collection first, as this story is a spinoff of that collection.

Lyle is a small white house cat shifter and has no clue how he was one. He always thought that he had been cursed. His step-father had considered him as an abomination and was going to go to hell. His mother never said a word against the man. He had been kicked out and only survived by food in the garbage or some good stranger giving him scraps. It wasn’t until a vampire found him that he learned the truth. Boy is he in for a shock.

Max has taken over the coven when his friend and leader left after mating a shifter. His damn coven was so far in the dark ages that I am surprised they knew how to write. He wanted to change it but never got around to it. Then finding his beloved in the middle of a cat fight, soon changes his mind.

Action packed, danger filled, idiot’s for coven members, hot sexy times and excitement are just a bit of what you get in this story. It definitely kept my attention from the start and I can guarantee that it will be read more than once. The characters were a blast and lets face it Lyle is my favorite. He is feisty and smarter than you would think at first. There a re a few surprises in this that will have you laughing.

I had a blast reading this and I do hope that there will be more stories involving this coven. It was funny as hell and I can’t wait to get my hands on Lisa Oliver’s next book.

But later that month Colin’s position with the campus police force places him in charge of an informant program designed to crack a dangerous drug ring. Review: Colin and Joshua’s relationship continues but not without a whole heap of trouble. If they had just talked things out I think it would have made a world of difference. But alas that was not the case and so miscommunications here and there lead to troubled times.

Colin for his part finds himself standing between an exchange student and a drug lord. Not a place you want to be in my opinion. But given that Colin is a cop I understood his desire to help the young man.

This was an emotionally charged story with a lot tense scenes, tender moments and some laughs. Colin and Joshua are still new at their relationship so problems were bound to arise from time to time. If only they had talked more maybe some could have been avoided.

All in all it was a good read.

Andrew Brady was proud to work for such an organization, working behind the scenes on his computer to help keep the world safe.

When the son of a prominent British politician, and a fellow fox shifter, goes missing in Prague, Andrew is forced to go out into the field for the first time. It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the fact he was partnered up with Lane Roberts, leopard shifter, secret agent, and all round serial flirt.

The two men had been butting heads for two years, dancing around each other in a game of Lane’s making. Putting himself in danger, and having to pretend to be married to Lane Roberts would have been bad enough, but the deeper they go the darker their mission seems to get.

Review: Each story in the C.L.A.W. collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This particular series is branched off from the Happily Ever After Mating Agency series. I would suggest reading those books first. Although it can be read as a standalone.

Andrew is one hell of a computer expert and hacker. Thank god he works for the good guys otherwise we would be in big trouble. When a young man goes missing who ever was behind them looking for him, asked for Andrew to help. He is about to get a big surprise in that end. To bad he has to work with the biggest flirt in the world and who got on his nerves

Lane was a big flirt but it got the job done. A super secret spy had to do what he could to get the results he wanted. He just needed to figure out how to get the one man he wants to be his. That is after they save the kid.

Entertaining and very unique type of story. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me almost everything I could ask for in a story. I will admit that it was missing something to make the story complete but I didn’t really notice it to much. I liked the characters and their story quite a bit.

I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to read the next book. It might even be one of those types that will be read more than once, we will just have to wait and see.

Blurb: How does a human survive in an alien dominated InterGalactic Community? By becoming an assassin, of course.

At least, that’s what Leopold thought when he became an assassin for the elite. Pretending to be an alien known as Voidstriker, Leopold feeds his appetite for vengeance, killing aliens as well as taking their money. It’s a win-win to his mind. That is, until a bounty is placed upon his head.

With his true identity now revealed to the IG Community, Leopold knows it’s only a matter of time before the powerful family members of his victims come for blood. Far worse is the fact that the one who put the bounty on his head, is the one he most fears.

A routine job three cycles ago brought him face-to-face with Mastrodai, a prince of the powerful Mrrog Nation. Not only did Leopold—accidentally—destroy part of Mastrodai’s moon, but one glimpse of the mighty alien had him feeling desire for the first time in his life. He ran, and like predator after prey, Mastrodai never stopped hunting him.

Leopold is convinced that Mastrodai wants bloody revenge. But when he finally confronts the mrrog, he is stunned to realize Mastrodai wants something very different. Something surprisingly intimate—the one thing that scares Leopold more than torture.

Review: Leopold is a human in an alien world. Since the humans have no home world they are considered slaves as per the intergalactic treaty put in place to protect those that do have a homeworld. I thought this was a little extreme as everyone deserves to have rights. He becomes an assassin and is pretty good at it until he see’s Mastrodai, one of the high lords.

Mastrodai chases after Leopold for a long while until he’s finally captured, then forces him to bond with him. I liked the story but felt certain situations did not match with Leopold’s character and threw me at times. The different species that are introduced are many.

I liked the descriptions of the worlds in which Leopold visited. Each was different and unique though Leopold was not there for very long. All in all I felt that some of the story could have been cut out as it was at times too much information. The sudden switch in timeline was jarring at the beginning. Especially when Zed dies, that came out of nowhere.

Interesting read.

Review: Each book in the Defense Troopers collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. the way they are with each other. I will admit that Timmy will always be my favorite though. Benji comes real close though. With this story you get some hot sexy times, danger, adventure, excitement, entertainment and some sweet loving. It gave me everything I coul want in a story and so much more.

Marty and his best friend Bryton got a big surprise one day. The men his father hired were aliens who needed to fix their ship. Bryton is mated to their leader and Marty is Faruke’s solomente. The problem is Faruke has a lot of anger inside of him and Marty worries. Faruke will do anything he can to keep his mate safe.

Boy oh boy is Sam going to get one big surprise in his story. I laughed my ass off throughout this story. I love how this author can mix the right amount of danger, lust, laughter and excitement in her stories. The characters are quite unique and I get a kick out of them. I hope that this is one of those stories that just keep going on and on. I will also admit that this is one of those stories that will be read more then once. It gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more.

If it leaves him little time for romance, he’s okay with that. His soul mate could be out there somewhere, but he isn’t actively looking.

So he’s in for quite the shock when he literally bumps into his soul mate—Leo Gallagher, an adorable, nerdy, vibrant music therapist who’s Jackson’s polar opposite.

But he’s human. And a man.

Jackson is straight—or at least he’s always assumed so. Though he can’t deny his attraction to Leo, it’s a lot for both of them to deal with.

While Jackson and Leo figure out what their future might hold, they face prejudice from both the human and werewolf communities—including a group of fanatics willing to kill to show humans and werewolves don’t belong together..

Review: I wanted to like this story about Leo and Jackson. The tension between them is off the charts. Jackson repeatedly mentions that he’s straight throughout the story. It became annoying after a while as I understood the first time he announced it. I imagine Leo was quite annoyed as well.

But alas Jackson is not as straight as he thought and he and Leo do get closer. But not without complications in between their meetings. There is a lot of back and forth with this book as I struggled to understand what the big deal was and why the character went on and on about it. Jackson should have just walked away rather than making him and Leo uncomfortable.

I was expecting some action but got a lot of over the top drama instead. Lovers of dramatic relationships will love this story. I however did not care for it myself.

O.k. read for me.

Review: Teaching Ben is a cutesy story… it’s best way to describe this sugary sweet romance between two college students in their mid-twenties. This is very much what I expect from the author, Shea Connor, and I was quite please with this addition to the Dreamspun Desires line. The narration for this audio was by Kenneth Obi, a new narrator for me but recently I’ve heard a few audios narrated by Obi. Overall, I find that I am now always happy to hear Obi’s narration. He nails the characters and the tone for the most part and I like his ability to all primary and secondary characters a unique voice.

Teaching Ben is the story of Ben Cooper and his college tutor David Powell. Ben is twenty-four and recently out of the air force. After growing up with a controlling father who was also in the military which led into his career in the navy. Now he can have a life for himself and for Ben that is going to college and studying communications and documentary making. On his first days in one of his introductory subjects he feels an instant spark of attraction to third year student and his tutor for the class, David Powell.

David is also twenty-four. He’s got a past as a member of a rich family and growing up getting everything he wanted. A life altering situation some years ago meant that David had learnt his lesson and had since been working hard to finish college. Meeting Ben, David can’t deny the attraction, however David also knows that he start a relationship with a student he was teaching for the semester.

This is a sweet, well-paced book with very little angst. These are just ordinary guys living life, meeting their challenges head on, going to college and that ultimately is what makes this charming.
