Review: Each book in The Angel Pack collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This series is also connected to Beyond The Angel Pack.

The Paradon society has its hands on many executions but what is being asked now is totally insane. Niall had no idea how he knew it but he just knew that what they were asking was suicide. Mike helped Jesse and Taylor when they were younger and now he was back in their lives but the man has many secrets. So when he comes to the alpha’s house you can imagine his surprise when he finds not one but both of his mates at the same time.

Sasha is a powerful guard for the King of Fae and is Sammy’s mate. However Sammy was not raised as one should have been. He was tortured in many different ways and made to created the most deadliest of drugs. He is a genius just like his twin but is also very much afraid of everything including the idea of mating. And that was before with just one mate, now two what was the fates thinking. Just wait for it!

As many readers I felt for sure book fifteen which was Fin was going to be the last book for this series so imagine my surprise when this book shows up. Excitement is just a small word for what I felt. This story gave me all I could want and so much more. Twists and turns, surprises, excitement, entertainment, danger, action and lets not forget that there are three sexy men getting it on. Talk about steaming up the room. I was glad to see everyone there and I just loved Sammy most of all. He was like a breath of fresh air. This is one of those stories that will cheer you up and have you dancing at the same time.

I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. I must admit the next dangerous person to show up will be a surprise but I can’t wait. This is one of those series that will be read many time over. I would definitely recommend it and the previous books as well. I sure do hope Sammy and Sasha not to mention Mike get to see the pitter patters as well as the others. Now talk about laughing my ass off, wow.

Blurb: War never leaves a soldier behind.

Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin is still healing from his brief stint as a prisoner of war. While his physical wounds have mended, the emotional scars left behind are slow to disappear. Eager to prove his resilience in the face of lingering trauma, Alexei is determined to complete his first mission in three months and get back into the field—but he’s not forging ahead without his lover.

Nightmares will always linger.

Agent Sean Delaney’s recovery from trauma is more slow going than he would like, but he pushes through in order to return to active duty and not be left behind. But every decision he makes leaves him feeling like he’s gone two steps forward and one step back when it comes to Alexei. The guilt Sean feels from what they both endured still colors his interactions with the man he loves. Trying to overcome it is difficult and exhausting, making Sean question his place in Alexei’s heart.

Holding on is the hardest thing to do.

The ties between Alexei and Sean were frayed by the enemy’s hand. Mending what’s been broken between them will require a depth of honesty neither man is ready to face just yet. But if they don’t, they risk losing a future together neither wants to let go.

Out of the Ashes is a 28,000 word novella that follows directly after In the Blood in my Metahuman Files series and builds off of events in that book. It is recommended that you read In the Blood first before reading Out of the Ashes. There are explicit intimate scenes that are not suitable for readers under the age of 18 within the novella.

Review: Three months after being kidnapped Sean is still dealing with the trauma of what happened. He’s afraid to touch Alexei for fear of hurting him. For his part Alexei is patient in waiting Sean out. The day comes when both are ready for a new mission. The mission is not easy but they get what they went for and more.

I really love Sean and Alexei together. They went through so much at the hands of Cillian yet came out stronger. It was a bonus that Sean is now part of Alpha Team at Jamie’s request.

Fantastic addition to the series.

Blurb: Isha has spent the last year watching his BFF get his happily-ever-after. He’s proud of Dom, but…it hurts to see him so free while Isha’s love life is still on lockdown. Only Isha’s ex-wife knows the secret that he’s kept caged for so long—that he’s queer too, and he’s lonely.

Jude’s too chained to his work to notice what he’s missing by being terminally single, but a new face in the village soon catches his attention. City boy Isha is gorgeous, and when he starts to haunt Jude’s reptile shop as well as the hook-up app on his phone, he’s a welcome distraction from Jude’s business problems.

For a control freak like Isha, letting Jude under his skin is an existential meltdown, but Jude’s not in the market to be anyone’s queer crisis, not when he’s facing troubles of his own. Unlocking their lives could push both men apart forever, but it might be a risk worth taking if sharing is the key to their happy future.

Review: Jude is the second book in Garett Leigh’s series Lucky. This book focuses on a different couple from the previous books and works as a standalone book, although both couples (Lucky and Dominic, Cash and Rae) feature heavily throughout this book. Obviously, Garrett Leigh is not an entirely new author to me, but I feel that I need to do more exploring with the author’s offerings to get a true opinion on how I feel there.

Even after the three books in this series I am not completely sold on the writing style, feeling that there is a lot of filler words and faffing about. Then again, I just might not have any patience, particularly when I can see the direction in which the story will go. However, in saying that Jude is by far my favourite book in the series, where I felt it was much easier to relate to the MCs, even if I wanted to strangle one of them multiple times throughout the book.

The couple in this book is Jude and Isha, both of which have close ties to the second book. Jude owns and runs a pet shop, devoting all his energy to the business, so much so he doesn’t see that there could be more in his life. They hook up on Grindr. They also meet when Jude needs to organise a party for his son, mostly because his ex-wife can’t handle snakes and the kid wants a pet party (seriously, never knew that could be a thing for a kids party). Isha isn’t closeted but he has issues in showing the world his sexuality, even if his ex-wife embraces this side of Isha more than Isha does. And this is where the miscommunication comes in.

Isha has a lot of shit to sort through and though I really wanted to strangle him, this is what made him an excellent character. He had a lot of growth throughout the story before he could be worth of Jude. Isha’s other problem is that he uses work as a crutch to keep him occupied so that he doesn’t have to face up to reality. He is really an intriguing character and is the reason why this rates as my favourite book in the series.

This is a book mostly about self-discovery. This will appeal to reader that are into reading characters that have to come to terms with themselves before they can let love in. It was nice seeing the four guys from the previous books again as they tried to help their friends.

Blurb: A savory slice of first love.

Simon’s dad died when he was young, leaving Simon to take the reins of the family restaurant business—and the responsibility for his mother and brothers. His commitment to his duty left Simon time for little else, least of all romance.

Argentinian celebrity chef Luke Ferreya has wanted Simon since their culinary-school days, but for Simon, family always came first. Now Luke’s back in Simon’s life—briefly before he returns to South America—and he’s determined to give Simon a sample of everything he’s missed out on.

Simon’s brothers are grown, and his mother is doing fine on her own, and Luke is offering a second chance for a future full of the pleasures of fine food, wine, and especially love. Without his obligations to hide behind, can Simon finally allow himself to say “Yes, Chef”?

Review: Yes, Chef is the second book in T. Nielson’s series Amuse Bouche, for Dreamspun Desires. I have to admit that I didn’t even realise that there was a book one to this book until I started reading, and to be perfectly honest I can’t remember if I picked up on the fact that this was a series when I read book one some months ago. However, when I did realise it, I was looking forward to it because I did really enjoy Sweet Nothings.

Yes, Chef does work as a standalone book, although there is a number of references/appearances to the couple from book one, considering that the MC, Simon, is the older brother to Tristan from book one.

Simon Love (I assume his last name is love since he is older brother to Tristan Love), has something of a chip on his shoulders. We met him briefly during his brother’s story and he was an arsehole, although to give him a break he did have his brother’s best interests at heart, the problem was that he didn’t understand his little brother and has a clear dislike for Tristan’s boyfriend. The whole family seems to be involved in the restaurant industry, and that is also evident in that Tristan was opening a bakery in book one. This pretty much sums up Simon, after his father died when he and his siblings were still kids, Simon as the older brother took up the mantle to try and fill the void in the family. He took it to extremes, because although he pursued his dreams and went onto become a chef, he allowed his life to remain on hold. This is particularly true when events during culinary had him turning tail and returning to his family, but nevertheless ending up taking lead in the family’s restaurant.

Simon knows Luke Ferreya from culinary school. Luke is Argentinian and has been in New York where he had become a two Michelin Star chef. However, Luke is suffering burn out from being a celebrity and has decided to leave that life behind. He wonders if he has a life in Argentina on his family ranch/farm, but he is making a detour to catch up with Simon to see if there is something else that could keep him. Something that is infinitely more exciting than going back to join his family’s business.

Other than Tristian popping up, there really isn’t much more from the family. I vaguely remember at least one other brother and a mother when I read book one, but there was nothing even from them. Of course, it wasn’t relevant to the story. I’m just wondering if there is going to be more in this series!

This is a really sweet, low angst story. I liked it because the whole point of the story was that Simon had to grow and learn not to be afraid of his thoughts and feelings, while Luke had to figure out what was the next thing in his life that would bring him happiness. Of course, Luke had an idea but both he and Simon had to grow a bit more.

Luca spent his childhood playing games with the golden boy of California society, so blinded by James he barely noticed the dark, quiet lure of his conservative older brother, Dylan Armstrong.

The obvious attraction between Luca and James spurs Dylan into action – but he’s fighting a huge secret. While Luca dreamed of James, Dylan dreamed of Luca. When Luca gets caught in the struggle between the brothers and gets accused of culinary espionage, he’s ready to chuck the fairy tale – unable to even imagine Dylan’s power to make his dreams come true.

Review: The Return of the Chauffeur’s Son is a standalone book by Tara Lain. Tara Lain is a great author and is so close to becoming a new automatic read for me. It’s sweet and charming and had me engrossed from start to finish. It’s one of those books that I think just about anyone could listen or read this book and enjoy their escape from reality.

The title of the book says it all really. Luca McGrath was raised in Napa Valley by his father after the death of his mother. Luca grew up on the Armstrong winery estate where his father was the family chauffeur and the Armstrong family were kind enough to all Luca to live with his father on the family estate instead of losing their trusted employee. As a result, Luca grew up alongside Armstrong boys, more so James who is Luca’s best friend and Luca’s first crush. He leaves the estate for some years as he makes his way in a culinary whiz, which leads him back to Napa Valley where he can work for some of the most prestigious chefs.

And while he has been pining away for James, he then realises that he quite missed something when it comes to James’ older brother, Dylan. Luca’s homecoming is joyous but things are complicated when it comes to the Armstrong brothers. Dylan is helping Luca with just about everything but doesn’t know how to communicate his feelings. He is the strong and stoic type. While James is a playboy, who is now engaged and seems keen to now suddenly explore his sexuality. Dylan is frustrated because he is attracted to Luca, but his parents are dismissing James’ behaviour as James continued hero worship of his out and proud, gay older brother.

There’s something of a love triangle going on and the story is predictable, however, it is still completely enjoyable. So much fun and so damn romantic!

Overall, this is a fun, sweet and sexy novel that shows us that sometimes a HEA is right in front of us and with the person least expected. I’m quite familiar with Greg Tremblay’s narration and it hit the mark in terms of tone of and giving voice to the two MCs.

Blurb: A psychic without an anchor. A student in trouble. A shooter on the loose.

I’m Jonathan Bane, a licensed psychic who consults for the police. I routinely help the police put the bad guys away and, for that reason, the criminal world doesn’t like me much. People like to take a swing at me, or go stabbity, or try for a gun. It makes for interesting times. My psychic ability prevents me from handling anything electronic—and I do mean ANYTHING, I fry it in seconds—so calling for help isn’t always a possibility.

I need an anchor, a partner, but I’m resigned: it’s just wishful thinking.

At least, I thought so until he walked through the door.

Donovan Havili looks like a thug and has the soul of a superhero. He shines so bright in my vision it’s like watching a supernova. He definitely has the right mindset and skills for this crazy job. But asking anyone to take me on long-term is a bit much. And now we’ve got multiple cases to handle, a Chinese exchange student falsely accused who needs our help, and someone taking random shots at me. It’s a bit much for any new guy to handle and I’m half-afraid that my new partner will run for the door.

But in Donovan Havili, the criminal world has met its match. And maybe, just maybe, I have as well.

Review: Jon is a very interesting character to say the least. He has a strong psychic abilities and it sometimes ends up with him in danger. Everyone around him wants him to find someone to anchor him but he has some pretty strong fears with it. His mother has a lot to make up for. His life has not been a perfect one but he is loved by many. Well he is loved by all except for those he ends up putting behind bars. All it takes is one look from him to figure out what is in a person’s soul. So when everyone is staring at a man who is there for a job, all he sees is a bright light and beauty.

Donovan is a strong man with a military background. He has a heart of gold and a spirit to match. After being injured he was a bit weary, but you could not tell from the way he protects. He has been judged for the way he looks and acts, but once you get to know him, he will have you eating out of his hand. Jon sees the true him and it makes a difference right off the bat. So much so that it might just put him in the one place that he should be.

Multiple cases going on and you get to see what Jon is all about. The story is quite unique and fresh. I stole this discription from the tag line with this story, but you get Companionable snark, Flirting, Kissing, Jon needs a hug, Donovan gives the best hugs, Getting together, Self-esteem issues, Explicit content, Anal Sex, Romantic Sex, Random shooting, Which Donovan isn’t happy about, Donovan is a gentleman, Sort of, Jon just makes it REALLY REALLY HARD Okay?, Supernatural elements, Modern with Magic, Feels, All the Feels, Mostly accurate medical stuff, Lets not forget that Jon pretty much destroys all electronics’s which was funny as hell. Excitement, danger, adventure, and some pretty sweet characters are a bit more of what you get in this book.

Normally I don’t really care to even try to read a story by an author I have not heard of, but I was glad that I took the chance with this one. The world that was created for this story was amazing and it flowed just perfect for me. When the cases started to build up I couldn’t figure out how the author would work it right, but the ending just about blew me away.

There were a few small issues with it but truthfully it was an amazing story that I had a blast reading. I can honestly say that this will be one of those that will be read many times over.

I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Alyx is consumed by grief and despair but tries to continue on lost in his own world. With the help from their allies the search continues. The person who kidnapped Evander was a surprise to me. This person is cold and calculating and wants the throne for himself.

I loved this story. It had everything and more. I must admit I am still curious as to who Cor was but after having read the first book of the new series I think I might know.

Fantastic read and ending to a series.

Blurb: Making eye contact with a killer wasn’t exactly how Bradley Danforth had planned to start his day. As an accountant, he craved structure and routine. What he hadn’t anticipated was being part of a real-life murder mystery with him cast in the starring role.

Death and sorrow were part of Max Donohue’s job description, leaving the detective hardened after years on the job. On his latest case, he’s the one stuck protecting the only witness in a sadistic homicide.

One death becomes two… then three. And soon Max and Bradley find themselves playing a deadly game of cat and mouse. Can Max save Bradley from the clutches of a serial killer? Or will the killer finish what he started?

At a Stranger’s Mercy is the first installment of a continuing series featuring the same two characters. It’s a suspenseful murder mystery that depicts detailed crimes, strong language, and adult situations. While this series will include a romance, it’s a slow burn that develops throughout the series.

Review: Bradley is unlike many men I have come across and I wasn’t too sure of him. He was an accountant that loved numbers and their mystery. He had a routine that he lived by and the one time it failed was going to be a disaster. He knew something bad was around him but could not figure it out. That is until he drove by and saw a monster’s eyes. Being a witness to a possible murder was not what he expected nor wanted. Then the monster came for him and it was up to the detective in charge to help him.

Max is a grouchy asshat who needs a personality change. Very little sleep and one nasty murder has him on edge. However when he met the only witness lets say things don’t go the way one expects. Then when Bradley is attacked it changes the game.

Three murders and not very many clues has Max looking everywhere but the surprises never stop. This story definitely could give a reader nightmares. I did not look at the blurb when I started reading this so I was a bit disappointed that there was no sign of a romance, well until the end. Also lets face it these two characters are not easy to connect with nor like. If I had to pick one I would say that I did like Bradley more than I did Max, but that would be pushing it. They are both asshats in their way. Another was when Bradley gave his secret location away to someone that might be considered a friend shows that he might have brains about numbers but not in other areas.

The murders are freaky and down right nasty. The author really put in a lot of work to make it nasty which was a plus for the story. It was definitely unique and very fresh with ideas. It was a on the edge of your seat type of story and very well written. I am not one that reads stories by authors I have never read before but was glad to have read it. I can’t say that I would read this more than once but I will wait to see what the next book has in it. I also never expected who the killer was. It was a shock. I will admit that Max was a challenge because you could see that deep down he was a good guy and truly wanted to help.

The twists and turns this book had going on were a major thrill for me. This story was a great start to a new series and I look forward to reading more.

Review: This was a powerful, detailed, oriented story. LJ and Chase’ lives are shown in depth as the story continues. I really enjoyed seeing what happened to the men in Benny’s care as well as reading about what happened to Zack. It was terribly horrible that Zack suffered for five years due to someone else’ gain.

Zack for his part is guided to LJ and Chase by someone and the ball is set in motion for three men to connect but due to what Zack has been through it is a tough road as well as Chase facing his past.

I really enjoyed everything about the story. It’s filled with a lot of emotions, loving patience from two bears and a scared young man who yearns to stand on his own and gain freedom that was taken from so long ago. It states that this book is the last in the series with plans for a spin off with the next generation. I can not wait for it to start.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Review: Remi is one hell of a detective but can he prove it when this new case starts getting started. A hooker is murdered which doesn’t cause much concern, that is until he reads the note. He has a reputation for getting the job done but this might mean he needs a bit of help. He just wasn’t the expecting that help to be so damn hot.

Grayson is part of the Federal Paranormal Unit however in truth he is so much more. When a witch is murdered it sends him straight to the one that he will make his. The press has named their killer Professor but in truth he is as crazy as they get.

I found plenty of good signs about this story but also some down sides to it. For one it comes really close to another’s work that makes me take a step back. Also the story don’t seem to flow as well as it should. There seemed to be many catches that caught my attention. Also the characters were not as appealing to me as they should have been. They needed more development to show their true potential. Lots of secrets but no hits on what they were. Never fully went in any direction with them. There were some grammar issues to the story that didn’t do it any justice. I didn’t feel the connection that the characters would or should normally have with each other. The case that they were dealing with was just to cheesy and didn’t shock me as it should have as well.

On the plus side it was entertaining and did give me a bit of a smile. I can say that it would be read many times over which is a major plus for me. I have not heard of these authors nor have I read any of their work so I will give them a chance before coming to a full conclusion on their work. As for this story it was pretty good but not shocking. I will hold out my final conclusion until he next book. Also I loved the cover for the book, made me want to look.

Blurb: Sometimes love takes balls.

Newly retired championship footballer Simon Wood is taking on his next challenge. His plan for a charity to provide funding for underprivileged children to pursue football as a career has passed its first hurdle: he has backers and an executive consultant. Now it’s time to get the ball rolling.

Lucien Morel, heir to the multibillion-euro Morel Corporation, is shocked—and thrilled—to learn his father has volunteered him as consultant to a fledgling football charity. Better yet, the brains behind it all is heartthrob Simon Wood, his teenage idol and crush.

Although Simon and Lucien get off on the wrong foot, it’s not long before they’re getting along like a house on fire—sparks included. But with the charity under public scrutiny, can their romance thrive?

Review: The Athlete and the Aristocrat by Louisa Masters is the author’s most recent contribution to the Dreamspun Desires line by Dreamspinner Press. Doing the whole, judging a book by its cover, I was instantly taken in. A hot, rich, powerful, smart aristocrat and an equally hot, rich, powerful and smart athlete are thrown together when the titular athlete wants to set up a new foundation for children in need who do not have the access to equipment or their parents don’t have the time or money to allow kids to follow their dreams. It’s all noble intentions and a literary turn on in the world of romance for me.

A quick side note before I dive into the story, I looked forward to this book because I have previously enjoyed Louisa Master’s writing. It’s simple in the fact that the language the author uses gave me an instant connection to her characters. The other note that I would like to make is that although this book is not part of a series by Masters, we are brought back into the world of European elegance and riches which we first encountered in The Bunny and the Billionaire and even get to check in with three of the characters from that book. For me that was a bit of a thrill.

Back to the story at hand, The Athlete and the Aristocrat introduces us to retired professional footballer Simon Wood (*clears throat* as Ben, the “bunny” from The Bunny and Billionaire says in his brief appearance here “it’s soccer in Australia!”) and billionaire of the highly influential Morel family and their corporation, Lucien Morel. The little bit of cuteness in their background is that Lucien secretly had a crush on Simon while Simon was playing soccer and in fact convinced his father that Simon’s proposal for a charity had just as much merit as a charity for education and food for kids from struggling families. However, these guys have a bumpy road to their HEA, which is what kept me intrigued with this story. There is no doubting the attraction between Simon and Lucien, however, they did need to take time to get to know each other before taking the risk of mixing business with pleasure.

I think this story has a series of popular themes which will satisfy anyone who is attracted to these types of romances that include the whole fairy-tale ending for the brooding rich guy and the kind-hearted guy that steps into his life.

At A Stranger’s Mercy

(Badge and Bullets 01)
by

Brittany Cournoyer

Making eye contact with a killer wasn’t exactly how Bradley Danforth had planned to start his day.

Scott is struggling. Grieving the loss of his brother, carrying the weight of his father’s expectations, and getting his ass kicked in the rink, he’s in a downward spiral. He needs a solution and fast, but when his steroid use is exposed, he’s close to losing his place at Owatonna and more importantly, on the Eagles Hockey team. Thrown out of his house, with nowhere to go and no future in sight, he only has one choice; agree to mandatory counseling, random drug tests, and get his act together. Only then will he have a chance at normal. Meeting Hayne, a senior connected to the world through his art, is a shock to the system. Moving in with him is his only option, but falling for the shy artist leaves Scott in an impossible situation, and one he can’t escape.

Hayne has always been that quiet, creative kid who sat in the back of class drawing instead of listening to the teacher. A talented artist, the shy and sensitive young man is struggling with the loss of his childhood friend. Seeing his sadness reflected in his usually colorful paintings, he decides to attend grief counseling and meets Scott, a lost soul in desperate need of light and color in his life. Blurb: A love built to last.

When Derek Jackson is hired to renovate the LGBT bookstore that’s also Owen Hensley’s home, opposites attract. Derek is a big burly blue-collar guy, about ten years older than slight, sweet, and bookish Owen. As they spend time together, it becomes clear that each handsome outside leads to a beautiful interior. Far from the shy twink he appears, Owen has a rock-solid foundation that helped him put himself through college and start his own business. Behind Derek’s strong façade waits a tender heart that’s been battered by a rough family past—something Owen understands.

After Owen’s runaway nephew lands on his doorstep, it throws a wrench in their plans. Derek can’t ask Owen to choose, but he doesn’t think he can take second place with his lover the way he always has with his family. Can they find a way to keep their romance standing?

Review: Rebuild My Heart is the fourth book in Ariel Tachna’s series Lexington Lovers. For Tachna has been an author whose stories are a bit hit and miss with in terms of me getting into the book and enjoying it. For a while there I kind of stayed away from the author until I started reading Tachna’s contributions to Dreamspun Desires, which includes this book as well. I’ve read the previous books in this series too, and while I don’t remember them exactly, I do remember enjoying them and have given those books positive reviews as well. Still, I went into reading this one with a bit of trepidation.

As I mentioned already, this is the fourth in a series. Luckily, these books also work as standalone books because I could only remember the previous book Stage Two, which I had only read recently. However, for those that do remember we do get to check on some previous characters. For me the most important thing was seeing a lot of more Ben and Thane from Stage Two.

The MCs of Rebuild My Heart are Derek Jackson and Owen Hensley. Owen is a quiet enough guy who loves books. He runs his own book store, which has a heavy focus on LGBTQ authors. He puts his heart and soul into his business and is ready to expand his store.

Then, we meet Derek. Derek’s best friend/boss/business partner asks Derek to meet a new client who wants to renovate his business. Where Owen is soft spoken and kind hearted, Derek is strong, burly, brash but with a heart of gold.

There is an immediate connection between the two men and Derek throws himself enthusiastically into Derek’s renovation. The guys seem to guy fall into a relationship that is completely natural for them. It doesn’t feel forced, its quite cute, which is great since we’re really dealing with an instalove type of romance here.

However, Derek has his own personal demons, mostly shaped by a complicated family but complete love for his brother. Similarly, same with Owen. While Derek has a horrible stepmother who torments her stepsons, Owen comes from a religious (cult?) family who refuse any communication because he is gay. This adds to the relationship and how the guys deal to fall in love. Things get even more complicated when one of Owen’s nephews runs away because he can’t deal with the family’s religious cult-like beliefs. Owen, being Owen, takes it all in his stride but with his relationship with Derek so new he doesn’t know how to handle and Derek has his own reservations.

These guys actually made me think of another lovable couple from a completely different author and series, Casey and Hal from Carol Lynne’s Cattle Valley series. I’m not sure if that’s a popular call back for other readers, but I make this comparison because Derek and Owen are basically polar opposites that are made for each other. Their characters are well developed and totally relatable.

Even though they are so different it is easy to see why and how they fit so well together. The only thing that really annoyed me is the good old miscommunication to bring the story forward, I found it a little frustrating but ultimately it was forgiven because it wasn’t made into a needless melodrama. These are just normal guys and they had to work through a lot to make it to the end with a HEA.

Review: I always enjoy reading about characters with unique abilities. It intrigues me as to how they cope with them and use them. Harry has the ability to fly. He uses it for the first time to save Sam when they were younger. Now they are together and on the run from someone.

I loved these two together. There is romance but the sex is off page which was fine with me. Jonah is a questionable character when Harry and Sam meet him. He wants to train Harry without Sam around. There are others with Jonah who are also being trained how to use their abilities.

A good mix of characters with abilities and some that are either shady or mean what they say. I loved reading this story. I hope there will be another book to further the story a long.

Fantastic read.

Review: Another case down for the books. A break in with nothing messed with, a dead vineyard worker, missing stolen artifacts, shootings and BJ is in the middle of it all. He was hired by the owner of the Vineyard and he wanted to find out what was going on. You add in that the worker was not who he truly was will be a big hit with some major tears, money in high demands and some big secrets have got BJ running all over.

I love how you see Paul in parts of the story but doesn’t really have anything to do with the investigation. He is a joy sometimes and damn hot. Wow the author does give you one hell of a description of the surrounding areas they go into, it tends to drive me in a different direction. I loose interest when there is so much detail. The characters as always are very entertaining and quite interesting. He is very loyal to his friends and family, but push him in the wrong direction and your ass is grass.

The secondary characters are always a big hit with these stories. They really help with the investigation. They also have some pretty easy quirks to like. I like how the mysteries were wrote in this one but will admit that I figured out parts of it before the end. It is still enjoyable to watch BJ interact with his clients, the suspects, other agencies and his friends. He is like a dog with a bone in some parts which gets a big hit from me.

Now for the downside as well written as it was, the murder itself was too neat and it didn’t come off the way three bullets would or should have. It shows a more violent type then what was really behind it. As I said above the story just had too much description in it to make it keep my attention throughout the story. Usually I get caught up in a story but this one had me skimming parts of the story just to get through it. However that is just my insight.

Other than my issues with the story it was well written, even paced and a fun read. I would recommend it and the previous titles in the series.

Review: I really enjoyed this fast paced, action packed, suspense filled story. Jaime and the suicide squad were intriguing. Each of their abilities came in handy during dangerous missions they were sent on.

I loved that as the story progressed it seemed to add depth as the mystery and suspense grew to high heights. All was not as it seemed and there were those working behind the scenes to cause discord and chaos in their favor. Not everyone in the squad make it out alive and lessons are learned the hard way about who they can and can not trust.

This story ends on a wild cliffhanger that had me gasping. I am looking forward to the next book to see what happens with Jaime and the squad next.

Great read.

Review: Wedding bells are getting closer and closer, but so is the Unicorn. It would seem that the one that had been arrested was in fact innocent of killing gay men that were in a relationship. Zane’s husband had been a victim to this crazy man which in turn made Zane want to help others and keep people safe. Then the murders kept coming, and when not only a friend but a man he put on the case was killed, it just made Zane go after him more. However keeping it from his soon to be husband was not a good idea.

Enzo couldn’t wait to marry Zane, but things were going crazy around him. When a man from the past shows up Enzo’s fears were getting to him. Then the truth comes out and man is he going to kick some ass, his man was keeping some big secrets from him. However when the Unicorn felt that they were getting close, well the tables get turned.

Talk about twists and turns in a story, wow the ending just about blew me away. This is one of those series that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. It has so much action an danger packed into it that you are always entertained. Not to mention the hot sexy times that the guys just seem to give you would set your sheets on fire. I love the guys and the supporting characters in these books. It gives you all you want and lets just say I didn’t expect the killer to be who it was. It kept me guessing throughout the story and that was a major hit with me.

I absolutely loved reading this book and can’t wait to see what other stories this author has out there. He is one hell of an author and his work is one that I would definitely recommend checking out. I hope there is more to come.
